Name : Gerran Bluehawke
Sex : Male
Age : 21
Birthday : 29th December
Sexuality : Straight
Special Characteristics: Gerran is a homunculus, an artificial human created and maintained by a rare form of creation magic (flesh creation magic to be precise) known only in his homeland far to the East of Fiore, this does not allow him any special attributes that give him any real advantage over natural humans. For all intents and purposes Gerran is a normal human who ages normally (however he was created at the age of nineteen and therefore has existed for two years but biologically Gerran is 21 years old) and is susceptible disease and/or poison; however his life is dependent on the constant steady flow of magical energy he gets from his creator. This flow does not increase his magical power and is completely used up for the purpose of maintaining his body’s physical structure.
Personality : Gerran Bluehawke’s status as an artificial human is one of the most influential factors in his personality, the fact that he has no true memories of the past and the fact that everything he remembers from his past is not from his own memories, all he memories that he has experienced up till his escape are simply the memories of is creator. This makes Gerran a very confused character personality-wise and therefore he is constantly driven to find experiences that he cannot find in the memories of his creator. However Gerran has managed to suppress the majority of memories inherited from his creator this is not one hundred per cent effective and he is sometimes struck by flashbacks which is a constant annoyance because it is a constant reminder that Gerran is simply a construct. The constant knowledge that he is simply the construct of another man’s imagination is what caused Gerran to become a hedonist and seek out both pleasure and pain in equal amount because to Gerran all experience proves to him that he is actually alive, he smokes and drinks heavily. Gerran’s hedonism is also what drives his obsession to be the strongest, he feels that improving his strength in both magical and physical combat is simply another way of proving that, as an artificial human he is equal to if not stronger than natural humans. Because of this Gerran is drawn to mages who are strong in both magical power and personality he believes that these people will help him to become stronger and affirm his personality and identity in a world that he as an individual has barely experienced. While a hedonist, Gerran has a strong sense of morality and believes in protecting people when they are in trouble. He has a particular hate for criminals , especially mages who have turned to criminal activities. However he believes that authority takes away the humanity he is so desperately striving for unless he fully respects and/or cares for person in charge, Gerran seeks approval and acceptance from others as well and so he is drawn to guild environments where his past does not matter and he can finally find family. However Gerran takes little interest in romantic emotional attachment because he fears being rejected when romantically attached because of what he is. However Gerran maintains a number of “female acquaintances” who observers will notice that he cares for but also distances himself from. However, if he forms any kind of bond or attachment to another individual he becomes extremely loyal to that individual and never gives in when a person that he cares for is in danger. However he has no real grasp on emotions and does not always understand the connections between individuals or romantic relations and is often found to be confused by complex motivations because of the confused nature of his personality.
Gerran prides himself on his speed and considerable strength. He is not an openly violent person but he will not back down from a fight when he feels that he has been challenged or he finds an opponent who intrigues him. This determination is both a positive and negative side to Gerran’s personality because while it drives him to keep fighting this can lead to serious harm if he takes on a superior opponent. This is all linked to his obsession with proving himself in a world filled with natural humans as a homunculus. Gerran does not enjoy being either underneath a leader or commanding a unit in a battle because of his overwhelming belief in freedom and liberty that all should enjoy. Gerran however fights well in a team and prefers squad combat to solo battles.
