It was undeniably hot in this region of the world. It wasn't the tropical, pleasant heat that Kistiñe was used to; this heat was oppressive, dry, and more than likely deadly if someone were stranded in it for too long. However, both herself and her guildmate came prepared for both the desert environment and the little bastards that seemed to be giving their client a problem...even if it didn't look like it. Kistiñe was dressed in a pair of khaki shorts, a white tank top, and sandals; fashionable--and appropriate for the weather--but hardly the kind of clothing that would suggest any intent of combat; however, the Latina preferred to have a little weighing her down as possible. She was fast, and greatly preferred being mobile and maneuverable than tripping over her clothing or armor, even if it meant she was more of a fragile target...her mind wasn't on the task at hand, though, or even thinking about the potential for combat.

She was distracted constantly by thoughts of what she had seen the other day in her dream, but she would never tell anyone what was wrong. No one would buy her excuse of being a ditz--she was too quick-witted for that--but for the most part her guild mates had simply left her to her own business. The only reason she was on this job with Irina was because she seemed like the kind of girl who didn't ask questions, and the last thing Kistiñe wanted at the moment was a barrage of questions while they were supposed to be killing goblins.

As they walked through the floor of the canyon, it was eerily silent--the only sound that could be heard was the wind and the pair's footsteps. To kill time, the woman conjured up a halo and started to twirl it around on her finger; it was amusing to think that she could conjure as many of these as she wanted without getting tired or feeling drained...soon enough, her thoughts of a few nights ago were replaced with ideas for stupid party tricks; maybe she could learn how to juggle....

Irina trotted along the bare ground of the canyons floor, the shadows made it difficult for much vegetation to grow down here and there were tons of nooks and crannies for who knows what to hide. Irina wondered if it was really a trade route, she also found herself curious as to what drove humans to make a trade route in such a place. She looked in front of her at the lightly dressed girl before her who she sort of snagged out of the guild to go on this job with. She didn't seem dressed for a fight but Irina couldn't really argue considering she probably showed more skin than her partner did. Irina was more concerned about her partners behavior for two reasons, one she didn't know who her partner was, and two she couldn't understand why she didn't protest when she grabbed her to go on a job.

She patted the girl on the shoulder and leaned forward to whisper in her ear. "You should let me take point, I am better suited for handling the up close and personal." She stated as she gripped the Katana by her side which gave off an eerie purple glow every so often. She was of course was only doing this so she could better protect her partner as she would not allow a single one of her comrades to get hurt on her watch, even if the enemy was just a few tiny demons whom only cared to cause trouble. After she picked up her pace to take the front she looked over her shoulder and returned to her curious state of wonder, maybe she was going to have to ask a few questions later.

'Monster Dice' :

Irina listened to the obscene chattering of the imps echoing throughout the walls of the canyon, they weren't easy to pinpoint due to how the sounds they made sounded like they came from everywhere. Irina shoved the notion of caution to the side and continued walking as a tiny silver flame gathered in her hand. "They dislike a holy aura, they are of demon blood after all, I wouldn't be surprised if they ran away before we even saw them." Irina explained to her partner whom she still didn't know the name of, she was of course referring to herself supposedly being a deity of purification or something like that. She held up the silver flame she held in her hand and showed it to her partner as it took the shape of a rose. "But that doesn't mean we can't pull them out of their hiding places." She grinned as she took the rose and threw it forward to a few rocks, the resulting burst of fire caused a sudden suction of air as it rushed to replace the air that had just been burned away. This implosion effect sucked in several small bodies into a clump as they all landed in a clammy heap of upset chatter. The four imps too busy arguing with themselves over how they were all piled up on one another seemingly forgot about the two girls standing nearby. "Now, you can have some fun." Irina explained to her partner as she patted her on the shoulder motioning her to take action while she turned her back to face another tiny imp that had attempted to sneak up behind them. "And I wouldn't suppose you are with these four chattermouths." She grinned at the little guy who was shocked by her simply turning around to find him.

'Monster Dice' :

Irina looked down at her cowering prey before her, he seemed to be in a very unfortunate position until it stopped cowering and started grinning up at it's would be opponent. "Oh do you have a little trick up your sleeve... do you guys even have sleeves?" She attempted to mock as two more imps attempted to jump at Irina which were promptly met by two fists brought up out of nowhere to meet their faces sending them flying into the nearby canyon walls. "Huh? I could have sworn I felt something while stretching." Irina said sarcastically as she turned to look down at the still grinning imp before her. "SO either you have more friends or you are unbelievably brave." She took a step forward as a fireball was launched out of nowhere to hit her square in the face leaving nothing more than a few charred marks on her coat collar. She turned to look up at a rather dark imp standing up on a rock laughing at her. "So you think that's funny?" She grumbled as she looked at the blackened spot on her coat, though it wasn't the first as the bottom hem was lined with black from a good toasting this one however was displeasing to her. It was at this moment that a fourth imp, a rather small and weak looking one joined the imps fighting her partner followed the the ear shattering scream of another imp. "What the?" She turned back to the imp that used to be grinning in front of her to find in had been skewered by its own kind, one that looked like it had been out of a meal for days and rather blood thirsty. "You... feast on your own kind... I find that rather... unsavory... Right I think I'll just have to put you clean out of your misery, the others I could care less about killing but you're just cruel to look at." She began to draw the blade at her side to face down against this long clawed freak before her.

After several minutes of hopping around and blindly throwing halos at the ugly little bastards that were chasing her, Kistiñe finally managed to dispatch the first batch of monsters without any major injuries (they were all flopped on the ground unconscious and covered in bruises from the halos)...that being said, she was tired from having to run the entire time. Catching her breath, she was about to make a comment about how the imps were nothing but pushovers or something, but instead made a complaining groan when she saw that even more of the buggers had shown up. "Ay caramba," she said, "¿Cúantos de estas cosas hay?" It was highly unlikely that Irina had understood a word that she had said, but the Latina really couldn't be bothered to care at the moment. For the moment, it seemed that none of them noticed her, as they were all focused on Irina; grumbling, Kistiñe threw a couple halos at one of the scrawnier looking imps, before throwing one surrounded in wind at the darker colored one, striking it in the face. It wasn't exactly the most ideal spell to use, given that the damage wasn't immediate, but she didn't really have any other decent options at the moment; she could have just thrown regular halos at the dark imp, but they were weak without any spells attached to them.

Irina stared down the pathetic excuse for an imp standing in front of her as it let out a crazed howl which prompted no response from Irina herself only that she switched her weapon to her left hand from her right. Irina took a half step back as she prepped a somewhat serious fighting stance. "You pathetic little thing, didn't like your friends did you?" She seemed to question the imp as it prepared to lunge at her only to fight that she had jolted from being a decent distance to being directly in front of it sending it staggering backwards as the blade of Irina's sword came down to cut off one of its arms. "You truly are pathetic to be afraid of such a tiny scratch." She muttered sarcastically as it screamed its tiny little head off as she did a back flip kicking it in the shin sending it flying 10 feet above the ground. "And now sleep." She said as she blinked around her target at lightning speed striking it multiple times before slamming the pathetic creature into the ground with her blade impaled into its gut. "Geez you couldn't even make a worthy specimen for a mad scientist let alone a legit one." She grumbled as she slid the blade out of the dead creatures gut. "Yo, you finished over there?" Irina called out to her partner as she tipped the back of her blade onto her shoulder and looked over looking somewhat bored.
