Eclipse was bored. Even though Era was a beautiful place, housing the Magic Council itself atop a small hill, Eclipse found it quite difficult to actually find something that could interest her. Slowly walking through the busy shopping street of Era, Eclipse observed the people around her. There were adults, teenagers and even children. While the sellers stood behind their stalls and looked over their merchandise, the others were simply staring intensely at them or engaging in meaningless conversation with someone next to them. The children that can’t be bothered had started chasing each other down the street. In the end, it was another lively place.
Eclipse carefully avoided a small kid as she walked up the street. He was being chased by another who threw a smile at her as he ran along. When she turned away from them, she almost crashed into a towering woman who was almost twice her size. With a sorry, the women too moved along, seemingly busy with the package she was carrying. Next thing she knew, she was trying, with difficulty, to avoid bumping into anyone in the busy crowd. Some even pushed her away without paying much attention to their surroundings.
At last, Eclipse stopped right next to a stall selling beautiful jewellery. With one hand on the thin wooden pillar of the shop and the other at her hip, Eclipse sighed heavily before standing back up straight again. She never expected the street to get as busy as it did in the evening. Instead, she was hoping for it to get quieter. But the noise around her got louder and the number of people suddenly increased. Even the owner of the stall she currently stood next to couldn’t pay enough attention to the girl standing quietly to his shop’s side because of the crowd he was receiving. At least he was happier than her.
