Saria was mildly amused at the opportunity presented to her by the Lamia Scale, the first line of defense for Fiore against its dangers and otherwise soldiers of this country. They wanted her to teach them how to train and become superior soldiers of Fiore. This was ironic, because Saria had recently lost her access to her magic that controlled water, she hoped it would return soon, making this a very complicated scenario for her. So she had to train students how to work in unison, train their magic and effectively make them better soldiers. Saria chuckled, this would be fun challenge presented to her! Chuckling as she strolled down the streets and up to the government buildings of Era, the Goddess walked up the steps and through the front offices where she would get her visitors pass. This would be fun to let loose some of her frustrations on poor saps. So when the necessary paperwork was complete, there was just a few more bureaucratic procedures and the pass was hers. She wondered what recruits she would be training, as she was lead by a tanned Sergeant named McCredie. He was giving the Goddess a few words that sounded like someone beaten, tired and otherwise gave up on them.
"Hope you do a lot better than our last instructor. "
"You sound disappointed in them."
"Disappointed? We call them The Misfits for a reason. They are undisciplined, lazy and absolutely have no espirit de corps."
"Their loss when a Dark Mage does not hold back on them. Oh well worry not dear, I will give it a shot."
"You are welcome to try, maybe they will listen to someone who they not recognize as an authority figure."
"Maybe, but it will be fun to try. Honestly if I can raise an entire guild of misfits and make sure that they are redeemed... I am sure I can redeem their honor and reputation and model them to be proper soldiers."
Saria was finally lead into the main hall where the recruits of Fiore stationed themselves. Saria narrowed her eyes at the lot. 5 young adults that were either sleeping, playing cards... and there was one even drinking. No wonder they were called the misfits! There was nothing that would redeem these people. McCredie started to walk away whispering, "Good luck." Saria chuckled, what the man did not know that she was a very good at making people do what they are told. She was the ultimate authority figure! So she walked, but these people would need a very careful hand... A very careful iron fist of a hand. She yelled out, "You will all stand at attention." Upon being ignored, Saria grabbed her sword at sliced the table they were resting in half. Devon said, "I said stand in attention! You are all Lamia Scale knights of Fiore. You are the first line of defense for the guild-" One of the recruits sneered which caused Saria to glare at him. This was the problem, they were listening to this man and they were following his example. By look of the badge, he was also the squad leader. He was hoping to be some kind of Sergeant, but maybe it was time to dash his dreams. Saria asked, "Is there something funny Private?" The young man answered, "Just all this training and discipline serve no purpose. We know how to use magic, the rest of this is pointless." Saria chuckled, "Well then, I propose this. You beat me in combat and I will see you instantly graduated. Tell you what, we can make this even. I won't use magic or weapons and you get the whole squad to fight me. Starting now!~"
Saria immediately went into the offensive and slapped the man across the face as he attempted to zap the woman with some kind of electricity magic. It caused him to spin and zap the female recruit next to him which Saria kicked in the gut. The 2 recruits slumped to the ground with the squad leader trying to get up. Saria picked him up by the collar and put him in the way of a 3rd Lamia scale that fired an ice spell. The Squad leader was frozen solid before tossed at the ice mage, the weight pinning him down. The fourth mage raised both his hands in surrender as he cried, "I give up! You win!" Saria grabbed the person's face and slammed it to the ground yelling, "Sleeping Forest members are never supposed to surrender you COWARD!" It was then that Saria looked at the fifth mage with a bow out and trained on Saria. She let lose a single arrow at Saria which she caught in midair. The mage did not stop, her fight or flight instinct was obvious. She was a fighter, rage filled her eyes instead of fear. Saria asked, "You still want to fight me despite your squad being down." Saria got closer as she dodged arrow after arrow as she said, "They are my brother in arms and I will not leave them behind." Saria pushed the bow to the side as she got to the girls glowing face and gave a very heartfelt smile as she declared, "Well congratulations private, your the new squad leader. I expect you to make McCredie's life a lot easier now."
As she walked away Saria said, "You are all from Lamia Scale, unlike other guilds you can't afford the life of freedom and luxury. You are soldiers and have to give your life for you guild. The reason for this training is to create uniformity, a bond that becomes tighter than even family. Look at the person next to you, when you're getting shot at she will be next to you. When you're down, she will pick you up and haul your butt to save lives. You need to mature or the lives that you intend to save are already dead. This concludes my first and hopefully final training. If I am required to come here again, then I'll double my time at attempting to whip you up."
Saria left the scenario as she walked to the Sergeant with a mild smile on her face, "I think they will listen to you now if only to make sure I do not return. I wish you best of luck. Toodles~" And with that she turned in her visitors pass and walked out the door. Hopefully she would not have to return again, but it sure helped unleash all the pent up anger within her.
