R ose Garden... the magical jewel of Fiore. The place where a mage could walk into, feel completely at home, as well as be completely invisible. That is, unless they were one of those stupid powerful ones that decide to poke their head up ever so often... Walking into the city during the day, Miyuki and Kaede had only absorbed half the spectacle. They saw various floating fixtures, wizards displaying a level of magic that was both gorgeous, and terrible at the same time. Miyuki, the older but shorter of the two, had stopped to watch a man causing small particles of metal to come together and move about. The man himself was shirtless, with only medical bandages covering his torso and a gratuitous amount of scars on his upper chest, but when she saw him pick up a child, he seemed far more gentle than he looked. The metal creation was used to let the kids ride on and changed forms. Kaede wasn't particularly enthralled with the show, as he viewed it as a waste of potential. Miyuki saw the lack of amusement coming from her brother and took him by the hand, knowing a place where he would be far more engaged. Kaede was lead to a clothing store first where Miyuki used nearly all of their accumulated funds to get him some new clothes. Up till now, Kaede had been wearing a pair of old, dusty, torn up brown pants, a shirt that had turned grey from all the dirt on it, and only one shoe. Upon exiting the store, he held a bag that contained a black long sleeve top, black pants, and a pair of shiny new black dress shoes. The two went to a bath house where he could freshen up, and walk out looking like a million jewel. Afterwards, Kaede was lead to a library and Miyuki left him there so she could go find her own place to have fun. When Kaede found her, it was just about sunset and she was running around with some children at a park. The sabertooth shield bearer had walked over to a rather normal looking oak tree and sat under it, opening one of his books while trying his damndest to read in the low light conditions. Suddenly, one of the branches of the tree moved down next to him and lit up. This in turn cause Kaede to fling his book, and throw himself aside as he never knew a tree that would do that. The branch extended to the book and using two smaller stems as fingers, picked it up. Kaede stood and began backing away, only to feel leaves brushing the grass from his back and bottom, which made him turn stiff as a board. The branch moved around him and gently pushed him back to the trunk, feeling truly terrified for the first time, he obeyed the call of nature and sat back down. The glowing branch came back, providing him a perfect light to read, but before he could start the tree turned his head up to watch as the magic started. A myriad of lights turned on, street lamps lit up with small rocks inside. Glowing orbs appeared in the streets, and the trees began to shimmer. Miyuki stopped her running and looked around with bright red cheeks as she was thoroughly amazed by all she saw. Kaede's jaw partially dropped, as he had only read about this sort of thing happening in stories. After a few minutes of staring at it, Kaede lost his caring for the lights and turned his head down to read his book. Miyuki felt one of the kids pat her on the arm and shout "Tag!" causing her to begin chasing after him. The book Kaede was reading was called 'Anatomy of Dragons' and was being used so he could understand his enemy a bit better. WC: TAG |
