Name: Cielle “Shade” Sumire
Gender: Female
Age: 300+
Birthday: 4/1
Sexuality: ~<3
Special Characteristics: Jagged scar across her neck, sometimes cat ears and a split tail
Personality:
At first glance Shade can appear as little more than an excited child, her fascination and exuberance boundless at times. This is especially true when she wanders back into the world of mortals after a long break in the realm she knows merely as “Paradise.” Seeing how they’ve progressed and altered themselves is perhaps her greatest joy at the beginning before she starts interacting with them again. However she’s perceptive enough to understand that not all people are the same and that one may never truly understand them to the smallest detail, something she both loves and loathes about them. That doesn’t stop her from assaulting some people with questions, especially concerning one particular subject that lurks at the back of some minds as it’s something she still can’t quite wrap her head around.
When excitement doesn’t grip her very being Shade leans towards a more polite demeanor yet friendly. This can extend to the point of boldness, sometimes interacting with those other people might talk themselves out of speaking to for whatever reason as Shade determines different reasons not to approach people. Perhaps she doesn’t like their hair or clothes, maybe they smell funny, or she’s possibly concocted some silly story in her head as the girl’s not above using her active imagination. Then again even when she knows the truth the woman might decide to go with the fantasy instead purely for self-amusement.
Other people provide perhaps the best distraction for her as there’s only so much the denizens of “Paradise” can do. As happy as they should be she can sense their underlying regrets and desires for the lives they once possessed sometime leak into her mind whereas real people offer her a solid focus. She’d much prefer thinking about other people than recalling her past and what lead her to this point in time, often steering the conversation away or remaining vague about her past. Those who try to delve too deep will eventually become met with a myriad of emotions as she becomes likely to lash out in a panic. The experiences from back then have caused her to often question people who consider themselves “good guys” or “hero” types, taking a dark pleasure in making them reconsider this mindset with enough niggling. For Shade it is all simply “life” and anything else is determined by perspective, whims, and personal interest. The sooner people accept this and that selfishness generally runs the world, the sooner they can move onto something more fun and interesting (and perhaps with less speechifying if they’re the type).
Despite not believing in killing for no reason a lot of opponents tend to disappear around the short woman, but she’ll be quick to reassure people that those who got in the way are merely “recycled” and not actually dead. If anything those enemies have become friends for the future and happy to help take down whatever foes may arise. She bears a preference for taking the stealthier approach whether she’ll readily admit this or not, preferring to force people to defect to her side rather than deal with too much outright combat. Not without mercy though, those who fall will always be offered a second chance at life. Once forced into outright and blatant combat mercy temporarily becomes paused for the sake of putting down the intrusive presence. Joining combat herself and not just sending out one of her denizens requires a certain level in at least one of three categories: annoyance, threat, and boredom. Though death isn’t something to be feared for her it’s still a pain to be forced back to her dimension for a short spell.
Free spirited to a fault, one can issue orders as they please, but whether they’re followed or not remains to be seen. Orders from nobody or a stranger after all hold little merit or weight to them for someone who has little to lose and only things to gain. If the person has somehow won her interest or attention then they’re more likely to be followed to varying degrees as the only thing she might ensure is their life above all others.

General Appearance
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 105lbs
Hair: Long, slightly layered, partially braided, mostly white
Eyes: Dark magenta
Skin Tone: Pale
Appearance:
Shade could be classified as a “cute” type of girl, petite and slim in stature with light, feather, flowing hair constantly cascading around her. Fair skin befitting of any upper class breeding covers her from head to toe, no hints of a tan in sight. Staring at her one might even feign the notion that she were a delicate creature who should only wear fine clothes, stay inside, and maybe sit at the side of her husband when she finally does wed into another family of renowned title and fortune. Then again this is mostly when she’s been freshly cleaned and primped up for whatever the rare occasion might be.
Magenta eyes watch people with barely contained mirth, the orbs always sparkling with some hint of mischief or perhaps wonder and curiosity as the business of people today or years from now can be so fascinating. Rarely do they veil anything since Shade lacks the compulsion to hide much, more often confused when people misinterpret her words.
Long silvery-white (mostly white) hair stretches until almost kissing the ground, a lot of it kept loose and long. Bangs and some tresses are kept a little shorter, layered at her whims so that it’s not nearly as boring as most of the other people in her clan who favor mostly similar hairdos. Born with volume to her hair, the girl would rather keep it and treasure it than the smooth and smothered down locks. Some of the hair has been pulled into long braids to keep it a little neater, but this is often done out of boredom.
Clothing choices veer more towards light colors and hues, primarily shades and gradients of white stretching into grays and creams, but occasionally other pastels make appearances as long as they're colors she enjoys. Dresses, especially with lace are some of her favorites, though due to constant chastising about how annoying they can be to wash the girl has accepted the necessity of more "normal" clothing for trips or outings that may end up a little messy. These too, however, remain towards the white and pink spectrum. Despite everything she tends to wear something around her neck at all times, some people bothered by the sight beneath the ribbons or chokers.
The only notable scar is the slice across her throat with slashes crossing it to appear like scar-shaped stitches, this generally visible if she leaves the ribbon off her neck or for whatever reason discards her jacket – or happens to let it “slip” for fun.
In her truest state Shade bears a pair of pointed feline ears as well as a short-haired tail that splits into two halfway down, hailing from a clan in Joya that's long since vanished for reasons nobody knows or seems to remember. Because of certain events and changes she's able to hide them as she pleases, but does admit that they're more natural to her than any full human form.

- ~"Beginnings are wonderful. The blank canvas always leaves me wondering what it’ll look like at the end!"~
White: A blank canvas, the absence of color ready to soak in any shade or perhaps augment one. It's such a brilliant thing to the young woman, a beautiful concept filled with infinite possibilities. While she does appreciate the opposition of black and the dark, rich tones it can make she appreciates how lost white can become beneath everything else while black often remains a strong presence. - ~"I want to understand them so much, people are so fascinating! They’re more interesting when I don’t already know what they’re going to say!"~
Making Friends: Alongside creating friends, Shade likes being able to keep some company at hand - regardless of their lengths of free will. The timeless girl has gotten better over the years at letting personalities take shape and keep some opinion about themselves, but there's a certain thrill being able to converse with those she holds no control over...they always hold a higher fascination with her than any of her mock friends. She likes them until they break her trust. - ~"Oh my, how quaint! Don’t get us kicked out until I’m done or I’ll be mad!"~
Experiencing Cultures: From food and drink to clothes, she enjoys learning about the various cultures. Shade is sure to try as many dishes as she can and perhaps peruse a few clothes shops. Sometimes she’ll adopt little customs she enjoys, forcing her denizens to replicate them.
Dislikes:
- ~"I don’t like when other things make my friends smell and feel gross…if they could just take the extra time to dry up first that would be wonderful!"~
Goopy Dead People: It's not that she's completely despondent over rotting corpses, just that mostly the girl doesn't like when they move or often the way they smell. They're gross, squelchy, and she'd rather prefer they stay on the ground and finish the decaying process before getting up and moving because skeletons are funny - especially their grinning faces (and they always look a little surprised). - ~"You will never die: there is a special place for you in Paradise…I’ll make sure of it."~
Betrayal: Already knowing the cruelty of others the woman tends to keep people at some length. The sourness of those she mildly likes turning on her is something she can eventually swallow, but the bitterness of those she somehow comes to trust is a different pill entirely. - ~"I don’t like sleeping in the dirt: it’s uncomfortable. What do you mean that’s my problem?!"~
Basic Camping: If it doesn’t involve a tent stylized for a desert princess or sultan then she’s not interested. Time to find an inn and anybody who disagrees will be ditched.
Motivations:
- ~"Why is it such a concern? Nobody truly dies! Just because you don’t remember a time before your birth doesn’t mean there wasn’t one…but if it’s so worrisome perhaps I can help…"~
Death: She wishes to understand everyone's fascination with the subject. So many fear it because of their "mortality" while others think little of it due to possibly their immortality, or some other intriguing reason. At this point it's hard to recall any ideals she held towards it prior to certain events, but as far as Shade cares no one needs to die if they can forever remain with her...yet the woman wants to try and see through other's eyes on the subject. - ~"Then I’ll never have to be alone again…and we can be friends forevermore. It’ll be wonderful, I promise…"~
Merging Paradise: Through a desire (and deep-seeded fear) to never be alone Shade wants to find a way to bring "Paradise" into another plane of existence. As no new life is born there and a life cycles out of there every hundred years, if she were to merge it with one that new life is bred then she'd never have to fear being alone as the lives could cycle through the same plane. - ~"To truly think for themselves will be an amazing step! But I suppose being able to think and respond at all is good for now."~
Refinement: Growing accustomed to shaping the denizens and guardians of Paradise, improvement is a constant goal. Retaining portions of personalities is one of her greatest achievements to date, but Shade hopes to see them all further evolve and grow in power.
Fears:
- ~"I don’t want to be alone anymore! Please…please let me leave this room…I’ll find paradise, anything if you let me leave!"~
Forever Alone: The thing she truly fears the most. Any length of time she's spent alone has been at the woman's whims. In a dark corner of her mind however, Shade fears the concept of being locked within her realm, unable to leave the realm of paradise and see those curious, funny critters. They do so brighten her world after all. - ~"I’m so sorry…I never meant…well…I’ll treasure you especially above the rest…I’m sorry I failed you…"~
Special People: Lives she comes to treasure become something to worry about for someone generally more self-focused. There exists a small fear of accidentally binding them to her and thus losing all sense of surprise as they come under her control – knowing that those who do are no longer fully themselves – and yet subsequently a fear of near losing them that forces her to contract them. - ~"Oh gods, to be unable to escape that sticky feeling and knowing it could follow you anywhere…do you freeze it or fry it?!"~
Slime/Goopy Monsters: Anything that is both sentient and slimy or created of a sticky and syrupy substance. While not keen on getting dirty she outright fears such odd monsters since they can get everywhere be it slime attacks or fitting through cracks. Worse than that Shade fears floating in one and being unable to escape.
