If you would like, and many of us would appreciate it, I suggest resizing your avatar to 200x300 ( that's widthxheight), or find a different avatar to resize to that height and width, so it doesn't look messy. A commonly asked question is how to join a guild, the answer is the following: you do not have to ask to be allowed to join, you may look over the guild information threads, then put in your character app which guild you would like to join.
