    Job:

    K
ateri looked at the set up she had laid out on her back in the guild hall. It had taken her hours just to get 'Jackpot' cleaned, and after several days she got the rest of them nice and shiny. She picked up the sniper, running her hand over the smooth weapon before resting the butt of the gun into her shoulder and aiming down the scope. A gentle smile on her face, the world beyond to windows of her world opened up before her. "Ya know Dribs... ain't nothin' gonna beat a new scope." she said with a strangely happy tone while setting her gun back down. "Dribble no sure, him likes new sticky stab. Not good with gun, barely know sling shot." the high pitched, raspy voice called from across the room as the goblin it belonged to pulled Kateri's cloak from her closet.

It had been a while since Kateri became an Ace... since she found Dribble... since she killed her first dragon... since she avenged her mothers' death... The goblin she'd taken in, Dribble, had actually managed to adapt to life among humans. He started bathing without having a gun pointed at his face, and Kazimir taught him to serve drinks. Kateri personally taught him to do laundry, maintain weapons, and tried teaching the little clumsy fucker how to shoot a gun but that last venture didn't end well. "Master, we will be late if you don't move faster." Shadow said while screwing around on the marble wardrobe. "Don't exactly see you haulin' ass either bud." Kateri said with a hint of sass in her voice, the smile on her face made telling whether she was mad or happy a bit of a challenge. "You're hardly dressed, why should I be waiting?" he answered back. Dribble walked over and placed Kateri's skirt, shirt, socks, gloves, boots, and bra on her bed before going to get her holster.

"Do you not think it dangerous to be exposed in front Sir Dribble?" Kazimir's voice called from Kateri's shadow as she began putting her arms through the strap of the bra. "You wanna take his place, I'm still a minor you know?" she joked at the demon. "My lady, you know I-" "It was a joke Kazimir." she interrupted his defensive statement. Kateri's hair flicked between white and glacial blue as she was brushing the two long tails; white in the sun, blue in the shade. Dribble walked in with Kateri's holsters as she was getting her socks on and placed them on her bed, right next to her plethora of weapons. Just as she'd got her boots on Kateri stood before the small goblin with a bright smile on her face and perform a quick twirl. "Hows' I look?" she asked. "Big high war chief always beautiful. Dribble honored to be in same room as she." the goblin replied. "Yes, yes you're always radiant master... we are going to be late." Shadow said from the wardrobe, his sword tail still hanging over the edge. Kateri let out a humph and quickly strapped on her holsters.

She grabbed the two revolvers, sub machine guns, modified 14.5mm sniper rifle, shotgun, assault rifle, and rocket launcher and placed them all in their slots before tossing her jet black cloak on over them. She then grabbed the bone knife from her dresser and stuffed it in her boot and pulled Shadows' tail. "Kay, let's go lazy bones!" she said. Shadow spread out his wings and few through the window, elongating himself to three hundred feet in length. He extended his left wing, which was as long as he was, and allowed Kateri to board. "Let's go!" she shouted and the being shot off towards the haunted village.

Kateri would fly over the hot zone first, casting an enormous shadow over the village in the shape of a snake with two bat-like wings at its front and another two towards its rear. She'd then circle back and jump off, landing in a forwards roll at the entrance to the area. Moments later Shadow would swoop down in his tiny form, landing on her shoulder and crawling under her cloak to stay hidden. Kateri would wait for the others to arrive; her father, and two people she'd never met before...

If one would peer into the Laughing Coffin guild hall, they would see many strange things, but none of them stranger than the eighteen-year-old boy with a flaming forehead in a bland, stone room. This boy was none oother than Brennan Skyllon, a young aspiring mage, wanting nothing more than to become powerful enough to defear his father, the man who was hell-bent on destroying his life for no real reason. This goal often got Brennan into strange situations, like the time where he had exhausted himself in a series of duels at the Talonia Arena, or the time where he felt the need to capture a genocidal little girl, albeit with his dear friend Venir's help.

'Werewolves, woo.' Brennan thought to himself with a sigh, "What in the world did I get myself into...?" As far as he was aware, the Haunted Village was being mauled by werewolves, and they had begged Brennan, along with three other people that he had never even met, to get rid of the werewolves. Brennan had reluctantly agreed, not wanting to get himself killed, but also very eager to test out his Solar Flare magic to it's fullest potential. He let out an even louder sigh, looking around his room for all the gear he lugged everywhere. First he grabbed the bracelets he always wore, then his hammer, and lastly, the large, clunky sphere that he had still not found a way to carry effectively. He shoved it in the inner pocket of his cloak, which made him look like he had a large, voluptuous breast. "This is ridiculous." He muttered, clipping his hammer to his leather belt.

"I suppose it's about time I get going." He said to no one in particular, leaping out of his third story window and focusing all of his energy in his palms, causing flames to erupt from the metal-clad gloves he wore on his hands. "Faster, dammit!" He yelled to himself, and the flames got fiercer. These fiercer flames shot Brennan through the skies at ungodly speeds, and before he even knew it, Brennan was hanging above the Graveyard Sea. "Isn't this so-called Haunted Village supposed to be nearby?" Brennan muttered to himself, looking around as the flames held him aloft.

After a bit of glancing, Brennan found a small village on the coast of the sea, and suddenly, the flames disappeared. "It's all about the maneuvering!" Brennan yelled in an awkward attempt to reassure himself. After he was almost to the ground, the flames exploded out of his hands again, and soon, he hit the coast... quite literally. The flaming ball of Brennan-ness literally smashed into the coast, leaving behind a crater almost three size Brennan's size. "Ouchie..." He yelped as he stood up, looking around... where were his companions?

iyol had sensed it... a disturbance in the force balance of nature, that sacred tether that bound life to death and vice versa was being weighed heavily on this day. He could sense that something would be happening nearby that would cause there to be too much death in this land, and it would be Niyol's job to ensure it hadn't come to pass. The event that would occur was a well known one, a single night where the moon was at its fullest, and the men and women of the haunted village turned into monsters that fed on the flesh of their former friends. It was a day when bonds between humans were severed, friendships ended, relationships quelled, homes broken, and death resulting. Niyol stood atop the tallest of the mountains in the distance, watching his assistants as they came. First, at the front of this town came a figure he'd known all too well. It was his daughter, riding on the back of a beast that was truly the last of its kind. The half dragon, half snake product of ancient science named Shadow by Kateri. It was a beast Niyol had given to her when his own had presented him with the egg. What made it the last of its kind, was that his mother had died fighting a being that she never stood a chance again, in a battle that neither she nor Niyol had any place in. Next was a small sparkle in the distance, someone was using fire to act as a rocket, though Niyol couldn't see so far. He would remain at the top of the mountain until it was truly time to join the fray, as he didn't wish to tangle with guild mages until it was necessary.

    "So, you hear the news?"

A feminine, unwelcome voice called from Niyol's shadow as he sat on his mount. "What would that be?" he asked, forcing himself to not stab his own shadow. "Evidently the magic council has made you their number one most wanted asshole. I find that ironic because your daughter is the number two, nicest wizard in Fiore." she said with a slightly playful tone. Niyol had known he were possessed multiple times, in locations where death was immense, but he hand't known what actions he'd performed under possession. He didn't respond to Altsoba, but simply pondered on what his daughter would think of him if she already knew. Though, she knew that Niyol wasn't inherently evil, he was simply a conduit through which demons enjoyed flowing.

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ B Rank

Another wince on what should have been a comfortable place to rest- a soft, fluffy bed, much too good for any normal canine while a pillow supported her head and a fleece blanket covered most of her body. Despite the gentleness and comfort of the sleeping area, the warm blanket was soon thrown off from the unconscious movements in her slumber, and soon enough, it was no longer a youthful teen girl resting peacefully. The terror in the night had raised enough fear out of the yokai to leave her unable to maintain her human form, even in sleep. Inside her head it was not a dark lull of quiet blackness to keep her asleep, but a violent scene taking place that she was unable to escape. Again that one despised face made itself known among others, and took delight in destroying the lives of all that she held close and dear. It seemed that no matter where she went, the goddess found her again and again, even in her dreams. Why did she keep moving forward and continue making friends and finding people to love? In the end, would history not repeat itself once again?

As another familiar body fell, one that she knew well but dared not force herself to name or recognize, pink eyes were forced open. She was no longer amidst the blood and violence, but the smell of death lingered in her keen canine nose. Izayuki stood up on her bed and shook herself, instantly realizing that she had kicked her blanket off and onto the floor in her twisting and turning. It must have been right after that when she had reverted back to her true self- her raccoon dog body, unable to escape the fear and terror of the nightmare. The small tanuki’s head jerked up as the door opened. Out of instinct, Izayuki pushed her ears forward, puffed out her long, fluffy pelt, and bared her teeth, allowing a low growl to rise from the back of her throat. Once the fading moonlight and new light of dawn hit the figure, the yokai relaxed, recognizing it as the human form of her pet, Seika.

As the human-formed unknown type of yokai moved forward, closing the door behind her, she gazed down at the tanuki disapprovingly, coldness in her eyes, seemingly glowing when reflecting the moonlight from the window.

“Sheesh, how do you expect me to sleep when you’re having a tantrum in your sleep?” Seika asked, crossing her arms.

Standing up and shaking her fluffy pelt after relaxing, Izayuki only replied with a small growl. “You know I can’t help it. It’s those damn nightmares again…”

“Well grow a pair, or sleep on the floor,” Seika snapped hastily, sitting on the bed next to the tanuki and flopping down on her back with her feet still planted on the floor. As Izayuki glanced away guiltily, the hybrid yokai finally sighed and took a piece of paper out of her pocket. “While you were doing your… thing… this came in. A Perfect Moon is coming, and apparently that’s a bad thing for this village. Since you’re up, you might as well get ready. We’re gonna do it.”

“Heh, finally picking some jobs for once, you lazy butt?” Izayuki commented, a smirk now lacing her muzzle. It really was rare for Seika to pick jobs for the two to do. What was so special about this one? “Give it here~”

“Shut up,” the yokai said, playing the paper down at Izayuki’s paws begrudgingly. “Keep hassling me, and I won’t let you come with me…”

“Pfft, you don’t have a choice, baka,” Izayuki replied as she read the job description, a paw placed firmly on the paper to avoid it being knocked off the bed or Seika taking it back. “Sure, why not? It says here we’ll have some help too.”

“Not like we need it or anything,” the yokai replied with a smirk before gingerly taking the paper from Izayuki. “Get ready. It’s almost daybreak.”

The silver furred raccoon dog nodded, having finally calmed herself down enough to begin shapeshifting again. Leaping from the bed onto the wooden floor of her dorm room in Black Rose, Izayuki transformed back into a human. Pink hair, pink eyes, fair skin, and casual night clothing. She charily picked up the bedding she had tossed onto the floor in her night terror and gracelessly placed it back on the bed, not bothering to make it up nice. It would not matter in the end, as she rarely expected guests or had a reason to make it look pretty. After quickly showering, the youthful mage put on her usual outfit- a black skirt, black long-sleeved shirt, white short-sleeved jacket, tie at the top into a bow with a red ribbon. On her feet she wore tights and brown boots, and Iza topped her look off with her sentimental pink scarf and styled her hair with a red ribbon.

Seika had been downstairs in the guild tavern, and walked back up with a simple breakfast of eggs, toast, and sausage for Izayuki, having eaten her own fill while her partner was getting ready. After eating, the tanuki yokai readied herself to leave, walking with Seika down to the entrance of the Black Rose guildhall in Lavantir Port City. As soon as they stepped into the sunlight, the two used their shapeshifting abilities to become fast-flying birds. Izayuki took the form of an arctic falcon, while Seika preferred the less-flashy peregrine falcon. The Haunted Village was a long flight away, and the two would travel with few rest-stops until they reached their destination by late afternoon or early evening.

And finally. Eyeing a rather amusing crash landing that resulted in a small boy in the center of larger crater, the falcons began to glide down, Izayuki transforming back to her human shape a few meters before landing. Gracefully, she landed on her feet. Seika shifted too, but not back into a human form, but the small bluish-white Mew-like creature- her true form. She was tired after the long journey, and floated down to sit on Iza’s shoulder. Trying not to giggle at the crude landing of the unknown boy, Izayuki took a few steps forward to meet him. “Heh, nice landing~” she said sarcastically, allowing a light laugh to escape. She continued with a perky and cheerful smile, familiar to anyone who knew her. “You okay, kid?”

He was not the only one in the vicinity. There was one other that she could feel, but they had yet to approach the landing site of the two Black Rose yokai and this seemingly fire-wielding boy. Overall, this was shaping up to be hopefully interesting and fun.

pon hearing a rather loud crashing sound in the distance, Kateri's ears perked slightly and she turned her head int he direction the sound came from. Her father had yet to arrive, she could sense Altsoba's presence somewhere within five miles of her own, but the fact stood that the presence would be quite weak. Since it wasn't getting stronger, Kateri concluded that he was watching from somewhere far off. It wasn't normally Niyol's thing to stay as far away as possible, and scout the area... Kateri decided to go ahead and enter the village, reaching to her back and grabbing the barrel of her assault rifle and pulling it out. She walked calmly through the streets of the village with a gentle smile about her face; not being the type to constantly look stern, but also lacking a reason to be smiling fully. "Say Kazimir..." Kateri said with a tone that implied she had a question to ask him. The shadow beneath her, seeming to match her appearance and moved as she did soon changed form to that of a man. Since it was pure black, not many features were distinguishable, with the only thing that didn't look black was a pair of green, shimmering eyes seated on the what would be assumed to be the shadow's head. The shadow also no longer moved as Kateri did, it seemed to just be sliding on the floor as the feet never once changed position to match Kateri's stride. The angle from the sun would have put the shadow in a different position as well, and deformed it; but as Kazimir stood in it, the shadow seemed to sprout off directly behind Kateri.

"What is it my lady?" the calm, gentle voice of the Demon of Peace rang out from the shadow, its green eyes seeming to glow with each word and the glow subsided between words. "There any chance you can pinpoint where Alstoba is? I can sense she's somewhere in the distance, but my radar isn't as fine tuned." she admitted without hesitance, it wasn't in Kateri's nature to be so prideful that she wouldn't admit to her downfalls. "Of course madam, the Demon of War is currently 4.3 miles due south-west-west of us. Give or take a few hundred yards." he said calmly. "Thanks. Also I'm gonna want you in on this job." she said in a commanding voice. As she said that, she stopped moving to watch her shadow act as a child beneath a blanket. The began bubbling upwards, forming a small, black bulge on the ground that got taller. Soon the bulge began taking form to that of a slender male, roughly six feet even. It gained color, showing a male with medium length, black hair. He wore a butler's outfit, complete with a pair of white gloves that had holes at the finger tips to allow his four inch, black, razor sharp claws to escape. Kazimir's green eyes shimmers like the ocean's surface as he tugged the end of one of his gloves. Kateri gave off a smile as she pooled some magic power in her hand, sending it upwards and allowing it to burst off and release light, acting as a beacon to let any of her allies, or enemies, know exactly where she was.

    [quote="Brennan"]

As soon as he stood up, a woman came up to him and asked if he was okay, to which Brennan only answered with a groan and, "Goddammit I hate flying." He looked at the woman and held out a metal-clad hand, "I'm Brennan, by the way, what's your name? You're here for the job, right?" He knew the answer would be yes though, after all, why else would someone other than him be so close to the coast? Seconds after he asked this, a flash of light erupted into the sky, temporarily blinding Brennan, even if just for a split second. "Woah!" He yelped, looking away. "Well... I s'pose that is one of our other allies. I guess we should head over." Brennan stepped through the sandy ground, and quickly broke into a sprint for a few seconds, after sprinting at top speed for no more than a few seconds, Brennan was face to face with a green-haired girl who looked stunning familiar to him. "Wait a minute..." He said, staring at her intently. "I've met you before! We did some sort of job hunting a Demolitions Expert together, right?" He girl would probably not remember him though, for his appearance had changed drastically since the last time he had seen him. His hair was no longer blue and spiky, and he no longer had that wretched red tattoo. Oh, there was also the fact that his magic was completely and utterly different."If you don't recognize me," He said, "That's because I spent four years in an alternate dimension where my physiology changed drastically, so I had to alter my magic accordingly. I am officially the world's only user of Solar Flare magic, the only type of fire magic that isn't actually fire magic!" He chirped. "One of our companions is right behind me," He explained, "And I can sense the magical power of the fourth, so I assume that means we can get goin'... right?" He didn't really wait for an answer, he just jogged on ahead towards the Haunted Village, looking forwards to feasting his eyes upon some real live Lycans.

It had been forever since Brennan had come to the Haunted Village, and it was just as, well, pathetic as he remembered. Each tiny, rotting shack had at least two acres of space and a short wooden fence surrounding the entire terrain, and the sidewalks were just dirt paths. As much as he hated to admit it, he knew he was going to have to kill some people here. The Lycans were out of control, and even though Rising Star #7, Brennan Skyllon, was known for his willingness to kill, he preferred to avoid it whenever possible. His internal conflict was interrupted by a villager, who walked up to him and bluntly said, "What the f*ck are you doin' here?! We don' get many visitors 'round these parts!" Brennan paused for a second to look at the villager, he was blonde and had a scraggly beard that he clearly hadn't trimmed in forever. His clothes were also a sight to behold, he seemed as though he was wearing a repurposed bag of grain as pants, and no shirt at all. "Well, you don't have to be so rude..." Brennan muttered, before actually explaining why he was there, "The Magic Council sent me a few others here to handle the whole Werewolf thing, in case something bad actually happens." Night was quickly approaching, which worried Brennan, but the villager did not seem to care at all. "Well then f*ck you you little bag of sh*t!" He screamed, punching Brennan in the face as hard as he could, "That whole 'werewolf thing' is a pile o' bullcrap!" He shrieked, enraged. "Oww..." Brennan muttered, keeping from punching the villager back, but it was hard to do, so he turned around and stomped back towards his teammates saying, "Someone else had better go deal with that guy before I burn him to a crisp." He gritted his teeth and put a hand against his cheek, where he had been punched. "I understand that they don't wanna acknowledge this..." He muttered, "But do they seriously have to go around punching mages who are only there to help them...? The nerve of these people!"

    N
iyol, watching from afar, had seen a spark move across the horizon before crashing down. His vantage point allowed how to see the entire village with relative ease, and from the resulting failed landing that spark made, he saw there was a mage there. "A fire mage... that would be convenient since werewolves are easily countered with being immolated." he mumbled under his breath. For all Niyol could know, the fire mage he assumed was one could have been a water mage with specialized technology, jet packs, or thrusters of sorts that let him fly as terrible as he was at it. It was only for the fact that he saw fire, and directly assumed Brennan, who Niyol didn't actually know at all at the time, was a fire user. Watching more, he noticed a female with him, another wizard he didn't know in the slightest. Due to the distance away from them, Niyol was unable to view their souls to gauge how strong they are. The human soul can reveal quite a bit about a person, while it didn't tell what their magic was, a skilled soul wizard could scan the frequency of the soul's resonance with that of the soul energy around the person. Using that, they could examine how much influence that person had over the spirits, or rather, how much their souls were causing the souls around them to be displaced, and use that to estimate just how powerful they were. While it was an estimate, it was normally somewhat accurate for Niyol. Unfortunately for the young soul mage, he wasn't nearly cloe enough to those two to gauge their power by reading their souls. He then sensed the presence of Kazimir, the demon of peace. That particular demon was contracted to serve his daughter Kateri, and due to Niyol's demon, Altsoba, he was able to sense his presence which also meant sensing Kateri was easy.

"What do you think that other one is?" Altsoba asked from inside Niyol's shadow. "We'll find out eventually, though I have very few plans of entering the village itself. Kateri's presence provides the only reason I would." he replied with a rather emotionless and blunt tone. Altsoba pondered exactly what Niyol had planned to do from so far away. All of his magic was rather limited in range, and his weapons were all nothing more than swords and a claw. She also wondered why so much caution... granted he'd recently killed quite a few people and wasn't exactly sure if he'd be able to suppress the death demon in him inside the village confines...

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ B Rank

Izayuki nodded as the boy spoke, smiling pleasantly and warmly. He obviously was okay if he was carrying on like normal, unless he hit his head hard enough to not even notice pain of the effects... which hopefully was not the case. So he hated flying? She personally did not mind it, but she had much different tactics than he- transformation, namely. He had crash landed after using some sort of fire or heat magic. It was amazing how one could fly with that sort of power in the first place, but creativity was key with any magic, and luckily for that world, it seemed to be rich in it. "Name's Izayuki," the pink haired girl said with her trademark, perky, and playful grin worn proudly on her face. "I'm an Ace of Black Rose, and this is Seika."

She continued to say, taking high pride in her guild and position, and not quick to forget to add it into her introductions when making new acquaintances. She adjusted the mew-like yokai who was sitting on her shoulder, as a gesture when telling Brennan the name of the creature. Seika hardly reacted, being much too tired to deal with the current situation. Flying was always harder for her, and she almost dozed lightly atop the Ace of Stigma's shoulder, wrapping her long tail around the top of Izayuki's arm for security, to prevent her from falling. "Nice to meet ya! What guild are you fro-...?"

The youthful mage was unable to continue on as she noticed the bright flash of light in the sky. Brennan was quick to comment on it, and Izayuki only nodded casually in agreement as she followed, tracing the source of the flare with her new partner. They came upon the girl with cyan hair, much like in Seika's human form, only the style was much longer, and worn in pigtails. She waved in her familiar, chipper manner at their other comrade as Brennan went onto question her. So, they knew each other, perhaps? It really was a small world, but that was never a bad thing. "Name's Izayuki," the Black Rose wizard introduced herself again upon finding a break in their 'conversation', but left it alone after that, keeping quiet for once. If this girl had questions, she could ask. Right now, she was more keen on knowing the name of this mage with long pigtails.

Finally, there came their quarry and target to protect- some of the villagers. The encounter, however, was not as pleasant as Izayuki had expected. The random punch to her new job partner, Brennan, made her quick to throw her palm up and toward the rude villager. As soon as that had been done, he froze in place before he could take another swing at the magical company. Though with a positive and playful demeanor overall, the tanuki yokai had little tolerance for such nonsense, and she was not about to unfreeze this person anytime soon. If Brennan wanted him unfrozen, he could do it himself with his fire magic, or the peers of the old villager could simply wait for the man to thaw out. Nevertheless, she was in no hurry to undo something that he had brought upon himself. "You okay, kid?" she found herself repeating her words from earlier as she turned to the boy who was rubbing the sore on his cheek. He seemed fine overall, but he would need to be in prime shape for fighting, and as he was now, well, it was not exactly top-notch shape, but fair. The skies were growing increasingly darker- night would be falling before long. And whether the villagers wanted them here or not, they had a job to do, and would not yield until their task had been completed. Right now, that was ensuring that the village was safe and would survive the night, namely from the danger within itself.

    K
ateri seemed a bit puzzled as the random guy tried to act as though they'd met before. While she was god awful with names, as the best sniper in Fiore, Kateri remembered every last face she'd seen, even if it was only for a second. He didn't stick around for long, nor did Kateri act like his explanation helped her remember his name. She turned to face the other one, a girl who introduced herself as Izayuki. "Name's Kateri, you can call me Kat if ya like." her voice was kind, and reflected that while a very sweet girl, Kateri was head strong and unafraid. It was a rare combination, overwhelming warmheartedness, and overwhelming mental fortitude. More common was it to see those as kind as Kateri to be extremely insecure, and doubting themselves often. Kateri turned and began running after the random guy till she saw him speaking to one of the villagers. The village had punched Brennan, who's name Kateri still didn't remember due to his face not matching at all, and began walking off. 'Someone else had better go deal with that guy before I burn him to a crisp.' his voice was rather unhappy. It was at that moment that Kateri walked up, with Izayuki behind. 'You okay, kid?' she asked to Brennan. Kateri faced the direction the village walked off in, her face bearing a slight smirk as she said "Three... two... one... -" "AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" the villager shrieked and immediately started hauling ass back to the three wizards. The man tripped over a piece of wood on the floor and landed near the three wizards. "Oh dear... what ever could have you so frightened?" Kateri said with a sarcastic, sassy tone while rolling her eyes. "Th-th-th-there's... m-massive! B-black... I- I only saw a head!" he began saying frantically. Kateri pulled a revolver from under her cloak, holding her assault rifle in the other hand. "That's my friend, Shadow. We don't got much time before midnight, so I'll give you three options." She walked closer to the man a kneeled down, pressing the barrel of the revolver to his left testicle. "Option one, you tell me everything you don't wanna tell my partners..." Kateri then pulled the hammer back on the revolver. "Option two, I pull this trigger..." Suddenly, a massive, jet black figure with a silver eye glaring into the room appeared at the door, the villager shaking as he turned his head. "Option three, Shadow gets a new toy..." Shadow slightly parted his mouth, revealing a very distinct set of diamond like teeth, should anyone look beyond the first row... they'd notice the vague outline of a lot of other teeth behind it. The man began looking around, should anyone try and stop Kateri's interrogation they'd be met with the barrel of the assault rifle pointed at their heart, the kick from it would send at least one bullet to their head, or pretty damn close. He looked at Kateri, the icy glare in her eyes reflecting the very nature of the element... strong, cold, unforgiving... He looked at shadow, the only thing he could truly pick out over the night background was the massive set of teeth as it let out a low growl, and the bright silver eye glaring down on him. "Five..." Kateri began counting. "Four..." the gun was pressed in harder against his testicle. "Three...." Kateri motioned her finger to the trigger. "Two..." Shadow's mouth opened slightly more, the hot breath filled the room. "One... -" "OKAY I'LL TALK, WE HEAR FOOTSTEPS ON FULL MOONS LIKE TONIGHT AND BY MORNING PEOPLE GO MISSING, NO ONE REMEMBERS A THING AND ANYONE WHO SAW WHAT HAPPENED STAYS QUIET FOR FEAR OF THEM GOING MISSING NEXT! SOME NIGHTS NO ONE GOES MISSING BUT PEOPLE ARE FOUND WITH BITE MARKS THAT GO AWAY BY THE NEXT DAY- PLEASE DON'T LET THAT THING EAT ME-HE-HEEEE!!!!"

The hammer fell down, a distinct 'click' being heard as it revealed that the barrel wasn't even loaded. The man went limp, putting all his weight on the object he was resting his back on before. "I really do hate doing that you know..." her voice was soft, warm, and rang with truth. "If you would have just told us that much before it would have been a lot easier for us all." "We ain't wantin' no troubles miss... we just want this shit to just go away." "Ignoring what's right under your nose won't make it go away. You don't change the world by sitting down and praying for it... you pray for strength, and then you get up and make the changes you want happen." Kateri rested her hand on the man's shoulder, her cold expression changed to an extremely warm smile, unfitting for an ice mage. "This will be the last time your village has to worry. Trust in us, and we'll save you all." his eyes had changed to that of hope, or worship as the words echoed in his mind. Shadow had flown into the room in a much, much, much smaller size. He'd shrunk down to only being one foot and seven inches in length, gliding in and landing on Kateri's shoulder. Kateri stood up, turning to the other two. "The fact that you sense a fourth actually means there's five of us. My father's magic can't be sensed by any average mage, only those who use the same magic as him, as well as myself even though he and I have different spells entirely. Trust me, he sure as hell ain't no fire user." Kateri looked out the door at the positioning of the shadows of one of the poles, it was around eleven thirty now. "My old man's hanging out a distance from the town, he'll take down anything that gets too far away, or come and join us here if something big pops up. As for the fifth person, he's an unknown, or she whichever it is." she walked out the door and looked at shadow, commanding the creature to stay in the sky. Shadow released his grip on Kateri and began flying upwards, only returning to his one hundred yard long, ten foot thick, two hundred yard wingspan version once he was at proper altitude where he began circling over the village. Midnight hit early, the moon was in the middle of the sky when any normal clock would read eleven forty-five, and the man with the ragged clothes and scraggly beard began twitching with hair growing from him and his form changing...

Kateri said that if he could sense four, then there were actually five of them. Shit. Brennan hoped he wasn't here, because if he was, he would have to finish this as quickly as possible and get the hell out of here. She'd also mentioned earlier that the group of them would save anyone, and Brennan had no doubt in this, the only problem was that, knowing Brennan, lots of crap would explode in the process. "Yeah, we'll save you, all right." Brennan muttered, still distraught by the fact that there were actually five of them here. "But don't complain if I blow shit up... it's kind of what I'm best at, y'know." He grinned awkwardly before continuing, "But like I said, all this shit, as you say, will go away soon, I can promise you that much." Brennan smiled once again, wanting midnight to come soon so he could solve this werewolf problem and get out of here. Thankfully for Brennan, luck seemed to be on his side, so whenever any normal clock were to read 11:45, the moon was already high in the sky, it was, for their intents and purposes, midnight.

Soon after the moon hit the middle of the sky, the man who'd punched Brennan-- the one with a scraggly beard and ragged clothes, suddenly began to transform. He twitched and foamed at the mouth, letting out cries of pain as his body disfigured and brown hair began to sprout all over his body, covering his skin, which had begun to turn a light pink shade. Brennan made a face, but held up his fists, which were covered by metallic gloves, and suddenly they burst into flames. "Alright..." He muttered to himself as the man transformed, "So I don't want to kill him... but I cannot have him killing me either... what to do, what to do..." He was thinking this out when the newly formed werewolf let out a cry, presumably summoning more werewolves. Two more showed up in the blink of an eye, but all three looked completely bewildered at their recent transformations, lashing out at the first thing they saw. Unluckily for Brennan, it was him. He dodged a werewolf's claw swipe and yelled back at his companions, "I'll take these three, you guys just try to figure out what the hell's causing all this!" He ducked out of the way once again, and flicked one of the werewolves. Any normal flick would do absolutely nothing, but Brennan had practiced his flick like crazy, and the werewolf was sent hurtling back ten meters... into a shack. Brennan had just destroyed some random person's house and the wolf was only marginally injured, so he sighed, letting one of the wolves hit him with a punch. He flinched, it was rather painful, but only five seconds after he was hit, Brennan entered a sort of hyper-focused mode, he could see all of the wolves flaws. "Perfect." He said, dashing towards the injured wolf. It was limping, favoring it's left leg, so he slammed his own foot into the werewolf's right leg, and the beast crumpled to the floor, falling unconscious from the pain. Brennan cracked his neck, but heard another werewolf coming up behind him, he turned around, easily dodging a swipe, and noticed how the wolf was left wide open after it attacked. He easily dodged yet another swipe and socked the werewolf in the stomach directly afterwards. It seemingly did not react to the pain, but Brennan knew better, he could see the flaws. BAM!!! A punch to the head and the second werewolf was unconscious.

The third werewolf was disheartened after witnessing the curbstomp of his comrades, but charged at Brennan anyways, not totally in touch with logic. Brennan sighed, kicking the werewolf in the stomach as it attempted to attack him, this wolf shared the same flaws as his comrades. The wolf doubled over, and Brennan punched him twice in the stomach. Just like that, the three werewolves were taken care of, but far from dead. Brennan snapped out of focus and the two silver gloves on Brennan's hands shimmered and turned into a pair of bracelets on each hand, and Brennan looked around, "I'm finished!" He said, looking for his companions, "Where are you guys?" Brennan had totally lost sync with the outside world during his fight, so he had no idea where his partners had gone.

    N
iyol watched as the souls of those below had moved about, seeing Shadow's massive form confirmed that Kateri was down there as well. It wasn't exactly something he could miss even if it was nothing more than a silhouette... but that was a big ass silhouette. Looking up, Niyol saw that the moon had reached the middle of the sky, and while he could just snap his fingers and make day come and delay this whole ordeal, he knew that this would only repeat itself when the next full moon came about. Dull, purple eyes narrowed on the world below, watching as a man morphed into a beast from afar and pondering exactly what could have caused this sort of thing to happen.

Niyol closed his eyes, letting his mind drift to a slightly different time... The flashback played, miles and miles of blue skies lay before the shirtless mage. His single strand of long hair flickering behind him as the shorter, but still rather lengthy unkempt hair waved in the gentle breezes passing by him. It had been a harsh road Niyol had come as he reflected on his past. He'd gone from being a simple child with almost nothing, to being one of the strongest death mages in Fiore. He'd gone from having no friends, no family, no sense of humanity to having Mao, Kateri, and Hana. All of which he'd regarded as his entire world. While Niyol hadn't wanted a child, or at least, he didn't think himself worthy of having one at all, Kateri's birth had brought about a true blessing to him. A sigh of contentment was released as the normally bitter Niyol had fully accepted that his life, while harsh up till recently, was rather decent. Though, he wondered exactly where the change had started... Why was it that Niyol had met Mao in the first place? Mao had been through great ordeals with Niyol, his affection for her growing since the time she showed him mercy in the Ancient Ruins following one of his demons taking over him. Since then, Mao had guarded his back while performing a seemingly mundane task in the Forgotten desert which had lead to her entrusting him with information fit for more worthy ears. His love for the woman had grown further, excelling beyond common friendship to the point where he would display his magical prowess to the fullest extent, going so far to steal the one thing he'd swore he'd never touch. Niyol's mind faded back to reality, returning to the fact that he was no longer flying over those canyons, and his trip had finished here...

Thinking back to that task... the first time Niyol had actively gone out to save someone he cared about so dearly... Niyol let out a scoff as he remembered exactly how great of lengths he'd gone to ensure Mao's survival. However, in the end Niyol never even made it to fight Syu... he didn't even see the battle. His fists tightened as he remembered the bloody battle between him and the life magus... that damned talkative woman. Still, despite his uselessness on that day Mao had aided him in retrieving the Balance Core. It was on that day that Niyol confessed to her, and Mao accepted the invitation to become his sister. It was the second greatest day of his life, behind finding out he was a father... the day when his family... the one he himself had obliterated, became that much larger. Niyol's eyes grew softer as he sat in the brush, thinking of how it may be possible to restore his tribe... to possibly gain another sister, or perhaps a brother...

Thinking of it now, Niyol knew that Mao was vastly older than he... but the whole time they knew each other Mao had treated him as though they were the same age. He questioned whether or not he actually should act as a younger sibling, or if she was alright with treating him as her equal. There would also be the possibility she wanted to be the younger of the two? "First I must cleanse my sins." Niyol said outload before standing up, sliding a blade from his left side. Niyol knew he was on the Magic Council's shit list, and he knew his way of living was a blight in his sister's eyes. Niyol wanted to be the brother, whether younger or not, that Mao would be proud to mention being acquainted with... so he had much work that needed to be done. However, this work was exceedingly bloody, and would require more sin... so much blood and sin that a river would form by which to wash away his sin... then and only then could he attempt to become a better man.

"Dance... Tamashi Reitoko." he said calmly, the sword turning into a stream of snow before forming into a massive silver bow, 30 feet tall and a 40 foot tall pillar of freezing cold metal below him. "I will wash away my sin in a sea of blood..." Niyol said while drawing back on the bow, an arrow that was more like a ballista round began forming from the lingering metal that was floating about him. "Let the first drops fall in buckets!" he shouted before raising the bow so the trajectory would match the lycan that was charging towards Kateri and releasing it. The shot tore through the air, first going extremely high before coming down and crashing through the top of the lycan, a few feet from its target. Just as the arrow crashed down, it exploded and turned the lycan into a statue composed of blood, metal, and ice.

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ B Rank

Kateri's interrogation methods were definitely intriguing and interesting. Perhaps Izayuki could learn a thing or two from her about getting people to talk.... threaten to either eat them, or demolish their family jewels... she would prefer to go for the former. Who knew, perhaps the taste of human was good? Blood certainly was, yet she was careful about voicing that aloud in a world dominated by humans. It was typically and universally frowned upon to take human blood, or to kill, and that fact had been drilled into the young Bakedanuki's mind ever since she was young. At the very least, the yokai could not brag of having eaten anyone yet, so that was possibly a good thing. Off the topic of eating people, Izayuki stared at the grizzled man they had just spoken to as he painfully transformed into a werewolf. She took a step back, slightly bewildered by the sudden unwanted shapeshifting.

Changing her shape to another form was a simple task for Izayuki, who was skilled in using her yokai abilities. However, these people almost did not believe in the idea of transformation, and this was obviously something they could not control. They turned into wolves, or at least wolves that were more humanoid in anatomy, under the light of the full midnight moon. It was something out of fiction, and legends, and currently she could see why such catastrophes had been recorded; to be a warning. Brennan called back to the two girls that he had the three recently-turned lycan under control. Their job there tonight was to protect the non-Lycan villagers from the imposing threat of their own peers. They had no business finding the cause- it was likely a curse in their bloodline, and nothing that was in there power to reverse. Giving a nod, Izayuki turned to Kateri and attempted to make eye contact to get her attention. "Let's split up," she said, knowing that they could protect more villagers on their own rather than together. Or, at the very least, Izayuki felt that she could. There were places of the village that were unmanned, and who knew what dangers were lurking there. Deciding to take the western flank of the village, the Black Rose mage ran on ahead, not ready to wait for an answer when there was already limited time. Hopefully, the blue-haired girl would understand.

This was before she noticed the werewolf charging Kateri, which was mysteriously killed and frozen on the spot. Had Izayuki been there, she would have likely used the ice to her advantage. However, the Ace of Stigma was already making her way through the village, towards the west. The moon always rose from the east, so these would be the last villagers to turn to wolves as they would be the last exposed to its full, perfect shine. As she arrived at the scene, however, she realized it was too late. Pink eyes widened in shock and mild horror as a beast with glittering golden fur looked up and turned its head from its meal- a bloodied and messily slaughtered human- and glared at Izayuki with bright, red, glowing eyes. Lifting itself up completely, and rearing even onto two legs, it tilted its head back and released an ear-splitting howl. The howl was loud enough to make the tanuki girl put her hands to her keen ears. She was in full human form, but the sound still hurt, and her senses remained sharp, above that of an average human's.

Izayuki was able to tell that the wolf was female, it still having a semi-humanoid shape, but the hair being the key factor. Some of her clothing, a dress, remained, but the sleeves had been torn off, as well as the longer part of it below the knees. A giant, golden, fluffy tail also had torn through and protruded from her rear, lashing to and fro. The alpha female slashed her claws through the air, and it was only by noticing the movements and differences in sound in the air that allowed Izayuki to dodge out of the way in time. Behind her, a small village hut was neatly sliced like bread, into three clean pieces. The Lycan snarled, baring glinting white fangs that pierced the darkness by reflecting the moon, which also illuminated the blood staining her muzzle fur.

The pink-haired girl was quite accustomed to wolves. In fact, the first transformation she had ever accomplished, before she had even known she was capable of the feat, was the change from tanuki to wolf. She had been a small pup, carried off by a giant bird of prey. Her panic and struggling had awoken her strange yokai ability to shapeshift, and the first image to come to her mind that failed to comprehend words was that of a big, bad, wolf. She had weighed the avian down enough to hit the forest floor, painfully, yet in the end, it was all about survival. Seeing that the alpha female was obviously a formidable opponent, Izayuki decided to use some of her own changeling skills. Within less than a heartbeat, the yokai had brought about her own beastly features- silver-furred tanuki ears, a large, fluffy, silver tail, pale claws that were at least an inch long in length, and elongated canine teeth that protruded ever so slightly from her mouth as fangs.

The alpha female had evidently locked onto her scent, and was rushing at Izayuki on all fours. She was fast, but the Bakedanuki was faster. Using her yokai illusions, Izayuki left behind an image of herself as she leaped high up over the wolf's head. The wolf attacked that at first, but upon finding that her claws went straight through the illusion, she jerked her head up and leaped. Izayuki's original idea was to sneak down on the alpha from above and behind, but the canine's keen nose locked onto the yokai's location. Leaping up in the air with more power than Izayuki knew was possible, the Lycan slashed at the airborne tanuki girl, hurling her towards the earth and watching with a low growl as Izayuki skid far across the ground. Right- this was what she got for underestimating her opponent. She should know better.

Painfully bringing herself to her feet, Izayuki faced the alpha again. The female canine was already suffering a bit of damage from her White Rabbit, Jabberwocky, and Tanuki Protection abilities, but not enough to stop it. Inhaling and gathering her energy, the slayer prepared one of her most devious attacks to hit the glittering Lycan. "Glacier God Howl~!" she announced as she released a gargantuan, swirling blast of darkness-infused glacial ice, winds, and cold energy. The blast easily reached the werewolf, and while she was too strong to be completely frozen for a short time, her speed was reduced by almost half. Rushing forward again, Izayuki threw her palms out in front of her, and began activating another primary spell. "Kiyoku," she murmured as giant walls began to close in around the alpha female, forming a transparent sphere around her made of black ice. As soon as the walls were formed and the werewolf was trapped inside of the 'snowglobe', Izayuki turned her spell officially 'on'. In doing so, millions of tiny ice shards began to spin around within the glacial creation in a deadly flurry, dealing bit of damage to the she-wolf, and hopefully injuring her further.

It did not last long, however, as the shiny canine quickly broke free from the snowglobe by ramming through the ice at full strength. It was much slower than before, and already being faster than it, Izayuki dodged its jaws and claws with ease. She needed a new strategy, however, and needed to quit wasting her own energy. "Hiatsu," she whispered under her breath, before grinning in satisfaction at the agonized response from the canine. The Ice Pressure spell would freeze and expand the dihydrogen monoxide molecules in one's body with little to no effort. Such an experience was insanely painful, and quite effective for its caster as well. While the Lycanthrope was distracted by the freezing, Izayuki generated nearly a couple hundred darkness-infused ice spikes to surround her enemy with her Glacial Omnipotence ability. Meticulously aiming those sharp-pointy-things of ice, the God Slayer attempted to have them strike their target all at once. The force of them was great- Izayuki's own melee strength behind it, and her physical power being rather vast, at that.

The alpha female keeled over, still alive, but severely wounded from the damage she had received. Eyeing that she had been weakened past her limits, Izayuki cautiously approached, extending her Freezing Aura to try and completely freeze the wolf into a statue of ice. It would thaw when the morning came, so they could heal the poor woman who had been subject to the curse of lycanthropy. After safely freezing the golden werewolf, Izayuki made her way back towards the east to check up on the rest of the village and her new acquaintances, to see how they were handling their haunting task. One down... the rest of the night, to go.

Post by Hero Yamamoto 25th July 2016, 12:42 pm

It was a day like any other. Except it was not at all. First of all, it was already dark. Second of all, a ton of things happened in recent days. The Rune Knights, which were run by the Magic Council, were found to be guilty of corruption in the higher ranks of the order. Fiore's King ordered a Purge on the organization and the ones who were to carry that out were known as the Garou Knights. Hero himself was requested an audience with by an officer from that organization. Though the giant answered the call, he did not accept the invitation to join their ranks. The reason for that? Yamamoto felt that an organization led by royalty was ultimately doomed to corruption eventually and he did not want to commit to a faction that was not going to hold true to their ideals. Hero wanted something more than that, though he did not know or understand what it was he wanted. He did know though that he wanted the strength to genuinely protect those that are, or would be, close to him. That was the main thing spurring him forward currently.

After that whole thing happened, he continued to get mail from their organization regarding the Rune Knights and such though there was nothing substantial yet that drew the giant's attention. Meanwhile, his cousin Elyx had the man go on a little trip for him into this active volcano for a treasure chest. Yeah. Sounds fun, doesn't it? Hero was in there for about an hour and a half before he finally found it, though it was not that simple. It was slightly confusing as well, considering what happened. At first, there was Elyx who wanted to challenge him to get the chest by getting through him first. That was fine and all, but then another Elyx appeared. Yes, there were two of them but then it went downhill from there. The Elyx who had arrived second knocked the other Elyx on the head and then that Elyx poofed into a woman. The woman was explained to be the real Elyx's girlfriend and that she liked playing pranks on unsuspecting people. The man had already figured that something was off about the first Elyx but he never would have thought it was a shape-shifting tanuki woman. After all that nonsense, his cousin explained the reasons behind why he wanted Yamamoto to take this little game of a request and it made at least some sense, though it would have been easier to just ask. The giant had no legitimate reason to deny the offer from his cousin so he accepted and thus joined the legal guild, Golden Phoenix. Hero also obtained an empty bottle from the chest; Elyx said that a good friend of his wanted to know what lava tasted like and wanted the giant to fill the bottle with some lava and take it to the friend. There was a problem with that though: he had no idea where to find that person. His only clue was that she worked as the guild's bartender when she was not out on jobs.

The bottle of lava was still in his house out of sight and it was likely going to stay that way until he knew exactly where to find that friend. If this person was a friend of Elyx, chances were high that they were also very strong though that of course was only conjecture. After that day, it was actually pretty quiet. Since there was no guild hall yet according to Elyx, there was no way for the man to know where that friend lived or worked, which meant he had to either wait for his cousin to give him another hint or try and search for them by going on some pilgrimage to every city and town in Fiore. He was NOT going to do the latter for the sake of one person whom he had never met before. Unfortunately, Hero was not kind enough to do something like that without some more legitimate reason than "they want to know what lava tastes like". There was one thing however that he deduced from that. The friend must have been a Slayer of some type and he also figured that they had to be a Fire Slayer. However, there were three known types of Slayers that they could have been; they were distinctly different in the way the types obtained their power. It was simply a matter that the man was not willing to handle just yet.

Today was extremely normal up until Elyx barged through and into the house. Why did he do that, one might have asked. Well. He had received word that his girlfriend, Izayuki, was out on a job that was more dangerous than it may have sounded. The man had teased his cousin a little, saying his worrying about her was sort of cute and then it got serious very quickly since he learned that tonight was a full moon. He explained the details of the job to Hero in a hurried but relaxed way, very typical of him. Initially, the giant wondered why he could not just take care of it himself but before he could ask, Elyx explained that he had the guild hall plans to attend to and could not make the time to head out there. Yamamoto did not mind heading out to this place as he had nothing better to do, but how the hell was he going to take on werewolves? Of course the man had read about them plenty in reports but never actually saw them. There was a first for everything he supposed. This was the first time for instance that he saw Elyx with such a semi-serious expression and that was why he felt it necessary to leave immediately. Hero nodded once and gave his cousin a thumb up before he jumped out of his house and dashed at full speed to the place the young man outlined.

That was how the giant ended up in the current situation, dashing through the evening to this place that was about to be overrun by werewolves. Of course it sounded dangerous, but that was the fun of the whole thing; it reminded him of his time with Elyx, fighting those machines and that behemoth Einheim. Already he had grown so much in such a short period of time. An invisible hand was guiding Yamamoto somewhere and he did not even know it... yet at least. The sky grew darker and darker, and minutes flew by while the Moon gradually began to show itself in place of the Sun. It had likely already begun, though considering Izayuki was a capable wizard herself, he was not too worried about being a bit late to the party. Hero never expected to be dashing through the night in order to fight off werewolves with his cousin's girlfriend. It was actually quite comical, the thought. To think that just last week he was sitting at a desk four hours a day writing reports on absolutely nothing. The giant sighed and shook his head while pushing himself through the air so swiftly that it would have looked like he was running on air to a normal person.

According to Elyx, the Moon tonight was unique and forced the normally-controlled people in this village to go out of control with bloodlust. The Magic Council had wanted some talented wizards to handle the matter with extreme care since the werewolves were to not be killed. Certainly it sounded difficult, but Hero loved a good challenge. Since the giant was running in, he was more than likely going to come across some of the traveling beasts whom were intent on terrorizing the more populated towns closest to the area. He was only one person so he was not going to be able to catch all of them but hopefully he was going to get a lot of them before he arrived in the village to meet with Izayuki. At least, he thought the woman would be somewhere in the village if she managed to get there before the villagers started turning. That was the plan anyway.

Speaking of villagers turning into ravenous bloodthirsty werewolves, the giant noticed three of them headed straight toward him. Alright, so there were three werewolves and he had to take them down without killing them. What was the game plan? Simple dodge and hit tactics probably were not enough for something like this. Maybe they could be turned against each other? Sure they were in their animal forms but they were initially human. The easiest way would have been to make them hit each other, so how was he going to do that? Wait that was actually the easy part. Hero grinned and continued his swift run toward the three beasts, knowing exactly what to do in this situation. He was a tank of a man after all. The creatures all jumped at the same time toward the giant; mentally, he planted his forehead into his hand and instantly knew he did not have to do anything at all. The man did not lose speed but he did move slightly to the left of them, and since they were all in midair and coning in on each other, they were going to hit themselves before he did anything. And just as the man predicted, the beasts began mauling each other out of anger, completely ignoring Hero whom was standing some meters behind them watching. Eventually, one of them was beaten away toward Yamamoto and he took that opportunity to knock it out. He jumped into the air and used gravity and momentum to pull his weight and then some onto the creature's head. The force of the blow was enough to create a small crater beneath the werewolf's head and knocked it out cold as well. The damage it sustained was enough to keep it out until the Sun rose again; the other two continued their fighting without noticing what Hero had done which was nice. So far, he had succeeded in taking out one of the three without taking any damage or wasting any energy.

Some minutes passed and the animals both looked torn up and the giant began to fear that they were both going to die at the rate they were going. In order to keep them alive, Yamamoto had to step in and knock them out at the same time. How was he going to accomplish that? Simple. He had to time it just right or he was going to miss one of them and place his body at risk. More moments passed before he finally charged ethernano into his legs and dug his bare feet into the ground. After aiming himself at the pair, he took a deep breath in and then exhaled before lifting himself off with a burst of speed directly at the beasts fighting it out. He stretched out his arms and at just the right time grabbed the backs of each beast's heads and smashed them together. Then, as a precaution, he followed through with momentum from the launch and slammed their heads into the ground. The force of both impacts was enough to knock them both out cold for at least a couple of days, especially after all the damage they already dealt to themselves. Without wasting anymore time, the man dashed away again toward the haunted village where he hoped Izayuki was... along with anyone else that took on the job.

It did not take him much longer to arrive at the village that was currently in chaos due to the turning of the villagers. Without stopping, Yamamoto headed straight for the center of the village where most of the normal villagers probably were. There was a feeling in his gut that told him he was going to need all of his strength for what was to come, and when he got to the center, his gut was definitely correct. A gigantic werewolf the size of many of the buildings in the area was grabbing frantic civilians trying to get away and crushing them mercilessly against the concrete ground. It was a gruesome sight though Hero did not remotely flinch at it, for he had seen plenty enough blood and broken people in his lifetime to not be affected by such things. Hero then ran in without thinking of anything more and struck one of its legs with a straight but powerful punch before jumping out of the way of a swipe that was a lot faster than he expected. He was just barely able to move out of its range but the punch definitely got its attention because it turned around and looked down at the giant whom struck it. Yamamoto needed help if he was going to take this thing down without losing his own head.

    Kite Wilhelm
Faith won’t always save you. My flames will do that instead.

Kite could be found where he usually was when he wasn't out on a job or getting food and that place would be onboard his ship docked on the side of Sabertooth's floating fortress. Specifically Kite was sitting in the cargo bay sitting on a stack of pallets that he used to deliver cargo in his free time while he wasn't being a mage but unfortunately he hasn't really had the desire to go on any jobs lately. The last job he had went on was one he wished to go on with his dear friend, Izayuki. However due to a bit of bad luck of timing he ended up not going with Iza but with Elyx, her boyfriend and one of the top three mages in the land despite. The job was overall a success but it didn't fulfill that hope of seeing the Glacier God Slayer again after such a long time; however at the same time he was a bit relieved due to the overwhelming amount of guilt he was still feeling as a result of Iza getting hurt because of him. While in truth it wasn't his fault directly he had it in his mind that if not for him going to his former Demon Mentor none of the horrific events would have happened. the only thought that quelled his guilt was the thought that it could have happened at any time if Asmodeous had wished it and now that he was no longer using that demon's magic he was free from that ever happening again or so he had hopped. Lack of initiative aside there was another large obstacle that was preventing him from actually taking any jobs and that was due to not having transportation or rather his own transportation. He was more than aware of a Dragon Slayer's "allergy" to modes of transportation and due to how many of those slayers he knew he had outfitted his ship to allow slayers to travel without having any nasty side effects. Well as it turned out that Tailspin was grounded for the time being due to maintenance issues. After the the quick fix up after the dragon attack on Sabertooth and then having her sit for so many months while he was off training with Eosphoros it just wasn't flying right. So as a result not only was Kite having her get fixed up but giving her an much needed upgrade and that meant access to jobs were limited. He hated teleportation with a passion and refused to subject himself to experiencing that motion sickness of his own free will so with all these options being present it was safe to assume that the White Dragon Slayer of Sabertooth was bored out of his skull. He had already done two rounds of training in an attempt to remove him of his boredom and while it was a nice session it didn't do the trick, he wanted a real fight with a real opponent and to make some money. ”This is for the birds.“ he would say to himself as he remained seated with his arms crossed over his chest trying to figure out what to do next. ”If I don't find something to do I am going to go stir crazy.“ and as if his prayers were being answered the sound of EDi's voice crackled to life "Kite, while you were training you had a visitor." Kite's eyes would flick up towards one of  the camera lenses that allowed EDI to see him, ”A visitor? When?“ he would ask as curiosity started to swell in his core. "The mail boy arrived around noon while you were still training." Kite's gaze turned into a slight glare, ”It's almost six why am I only hearing about this now?“ he would ask and she would answer, " Your exact words were to not disturb you during your training session. I just now remembered due to how irrelevant it was at the time. He left the letter in the box." Kite would get up from the stack of pallets and would head towards the air lock doors where the lock box for letters was located. As he pulled out the solitary letter he noticed the unique and very distinguishable seal that enclosed the letter. His eyes widened, ”EDI, this is from the Magic council. Why didn't you tell me?!“ he would say as he broke the seal and opened the envelope. "How was I suppose to know. The mail boy didn't say anything about it being urgent."

Kite's eyes would scan the now unfolded letter and read it out loud for EDI, ”Kite Wilhelm, The magic council requests your presence for a mission. In the Haunted Village on this night during the Harvest moon the village will undergo a strange transformation into Lycan. Be in the vicinity of the village before midnight so you may aid the other mages contain these wolves.“ his eyes would look up at her and then back down when he notice the post script on the bottom of the letter with the various names of wizards who had taken the job already among the list was Izayuki, and just like that he made his choice ”Looks like I have no choice but to go. Looks like I will have to use a teleportation lacrima to make it there on time.“ he would go to exit the ship but would pause when he remembered one important detail, he no longer had his gates to store any of his weapon so he had to head to his bunk where he had left Rose, the lacrima saber he had come across during his journeys. As he picked up his sword and had the vines wrap around his  torso securing the blade to his back his gaze would land on Shamash, his large sword that was on ground broken in half from back during the ordeal. Kite would emerge from his bunk and make his way back down to the cargo bay and would speak to EDI one last time before leaving, ”Take care of my ship while I am gone.“ he would say and exit the ship.

During his walk from the docked ship to the guild hall where he would procure the teleportation lacrima from storage, he would reread Iza's name again and then the flash of his sword breaking and remaining broken would cause his muscles to tense and his magic power to seep from his body. He was feeling ironically the same fire he use to feel for the first time in months and it wasn't a bad thing. Guilt still played at his mind but his sudden spark of resolve let him lift it from his shoulders, ”Iza, this time I won't fail you.“ He would enter the guild's main hall and made his way across the room to where the lacrima were located and he would pick it up with his right hand. ”To the haunted Village.“ he would say into it and with a flash of light he would travel across time and space and pop out right outside the cursed lands' boarder. ”Damn. I guess the lacrima couldn't pass through here. Good to know now.“ he would say exasperated and with a sigh he would start walking towards where the Haunted Village was said to be. ”Better hustle. It will be night time soon and I don't want to be late.“

The trek through the dense wood like area that made up most of the cursed land took a lot more time than he would have preferred. What he had hopped would be an hour two tops easily almost doubled. The sun was set and he had no clue if he was close to the village, that was until a familiar scent caught his sensitive nose. ”This smell is new. Smells like...“ he didn't even get a chance finish his sentence when a high pitched howl interrupted him ”...dog.“ It had already began but luckily he was close enough to the village that he could hear the wolves and follow the scents. Kite's pace would go from a fast walk to now a sprint in the direction that the scent was originating from. The distance he covered during this run he had managed to enter the battle zone, as it was evident by the increased amount of howls he could hear and the scent of mangey wolves were ever closer, so close it was almost like they were right on top of the dragon slayer. With a quick reflexes almost happening on their own Kite’s running would come to a hault as he dropped to his knees and slid underneath a swiping claw and once his slide was done he would bring himself up to his feet and would turn to face the attacker. ”I thought I had smelled something nasty.“ he would pause when he saw that the number of his opponents increased from the one to six in total. ”Six of you huh?“ he would bounce a couple times on the balls of his feet like a boxer and put his hands up. ”Time to show you mutts that you shouldn’t pick a fight with a dragon.“ The six confused wolves would all focus on the dragon slayer but they weren’t the only ones going in for an attack. Very much Kite like, he too was on the offensive. His magical aura was flared and white light surrounded him and closed the distance between them using his signature spell known as White Dragon’s flight. Light cloaked his entire body and increased his movement speed and gave him the ability to fly and he used it to his advantage. With his spell active he flew right in front of the first wolf and with the momentum of his propelled flight he slammed his right foot into the gut of the nearest wolf sending it flying back. The light would disappear around him as he turned to the next closest wolf to his right and slammed a jabbing elbow into it’s chest and then following up with stiff side kick. With the first wolf that he attacked still on the ground and the second wolf recovering from the two hit combo it provoked two more of these wolves to come at him at the same time, but they didn’t seem to have any sort of coordination with each other and attack out of sync. The wolf in front of him charged at him first and faster than the one that was attacking from his left. Kite would side step the wolf in front of him and use his hands to pull him in front of the wolf who was flanking on his left to use it as a meat shield. The wolf that was acting as Kite’s shield would yelp after being hit by its fellow wolf. The Dragon Slayer would pull the wolf shield out of the way and land a solid right punch on it. Kite wasn’t done yet and he wouldn’t let up on his onslaught of attacks. His right first would slam hard into the wolf, followed by a stiff left handed uppercut into the muzzle of the beast. Kite’s right arm would compress and he would throw a slicing downward elbow strike on the lifted muzzle of the wolf forcing it to look down into the lifting knee which would slam into the wolf’s chin. Without hesitation Kite would clasp both hands together hand smash the wolf across the face with a hard double hammer fist knocking the wolf both to the ground and out of the battle. That had also knocked the number from six wolves down to five. ”I can do this all day!“ he would say as he slammed his foot into an oncoming wolf knocking the air out of it and it onto it’s butt. Reaching down and latching onto the beast’s ankle, Kite would spin and hurl the wolf into one of it’s friends. Kite would then punt kick the wolves into each other. One wolf would make contact as it swiped across Kite’s but luckily for the Dragon slayer his Lacrima blade stood between his skin and most of the wolf’s claws. It was enough to anger the Dragon slayer to draw his blade and would slash into the wolf’s stomach horizontally, followed by a stiff round house kick to create some distance. Kite would follow up with a running knee strike to the wolf’s face and would angle himself in perfect position for his next attack. Kite would slash the sword in mid air and create the energy wave that would push and crash the wolf into it’s five other comrades. Kite would inhale ”White Dragon’s...Stream of Destruction!“ he would let loose a roar like attack but much bigger and much more powerful. It would engulf the five wolves in a blinding blast of white light but that wasn’t all, the Stream of destruction would then turn into the heat dome like structure catching all the wolves inside and would illuminate the entire area. Kite would put his sword on his shoulder and smirk, ”That wasn’t so hard.“ he would say overlooking the wolves that were barely breathing but still alive. Kite would stick the tip of his sword in the ground and grow several bushes around them pinning their unconscious bodies with the newly grown flora. Once he was satisfied that none of these wolves would be getting back up he would speak again, ”This should hold them while I..“  he was going to say find Iza, so he could make sure she was alright but other words would formulate in his mind after catching a whiff of some more wolves. ”Deal with them.“ he would say as he would find himself surrounded by about twenty more wolves and these ones were larger than the last bunch.  ”Great, there are more of them and they are uglier and smell worse too.“ he would say insulting the wolves that had him insanely out numbered. ”“I smell twenty of you. Still won't make a difference come at me!

A village haunted by spirits. A village plagued by the curse of lycanthropy. Now Magna wasn't really the type of person to go and fight against such things. It wasn't really his style. Sure, he helped people, but he wasn't exactly the most combat suitable. He was a chef and he hated hurting people, even if they were temporarily transformed into monsters. However, a rather rare ingredient had been rumoured to appear at the same time as the werewolves. Two ingredients in fact. The fur of the alpha and omega werewolves. If blended together right and put in the right dishes they were actually a delicacy or so he'd heard rumours. It would be the first time he'd cooked using fur so it would be interesting. However, first he had to seperate said fur from the werewolves and that would be rather tricky.

When he arrived it seemed that the berserker rage that was rumoured to occur had already began to occur and some people were fighting against it. He used his gauntlets to blast himself a top a roof to get a better view and saw in the distance a large white werewolf. The first of his two targets. It was in truth a lot bigger than he had expected, but size didn't matter. What did matter is that his natural instinct for ingredients was peaked. That meant it was probably real. Even if it couldn't be used as an ingredient it could probably be used in some fashion or another. That is what his instincts told him and ever since he had gained the power of the cerberus the spirits of ingredients spoke to him much more clearly.

He ran at high speed off the roof and propelled himself off the roof using his gauntlets and landed atop another roof nearby. He thrust out his hand sending a blast of kinetic energy towards it causing it to turn to him and growl before letting out a roar and leaping towards him. Magna nodded and blasted himself upwards over the top of the werewolf and blasted it downwards causing it to howl out in anger. It seemed that the attack hadn't been that effective. The werewolf turned and swiped up at him, but he blasted down again and threw himself out of range. "You've got some thick fur buddy. Mind sharing some of it with a chef?" he said his eyes fading from gold into red. "I'll put it to good use promise." The werewolf let out a powerful howl in response that threw him backwards and through a chimney. As he emerged from the dust, dusting himself off as he did so, he let out a faint smirk and removed the headband from his wrist and bound it to his brow. "I'll take that as a no then. Guess I best get serious." With that his face split forming into three faces and two extra pairs of arms formed as his tail unfurled from his waist wielding, for some reason, a frying pan.

He didn't like to kill unless he had to. That wasn't his style and wasn't who he was. However, he had ways to bring down opponents without damaging their bodies. He would damage the spirit directly and leave the body standing. Word came from his spirit animals. A werewolf had a rather unique spiritual structure. Their spirit was divided in two. One half was the human and the other half was the wolf. So he just had to be accurate with his attacks. Attack the wolf part, not the human part. Accuracy was his thing and against canines well....there would be no difficulty.

He ran towards the beast blasting behind him to throw himself forward and began to spin rapidly in the air, soul energy wrapping around him forming him into a living drill. As he got closer it suddenly split into three, and each set ablaze with fire, and all three converged on the wolf going straight through it and Magna came out the back standing ready to see what happened. The wolf let out a howl of agony and turned swiping him across the back with its claws. Or that is what it had intended, but instead it hit Magna's frying pan. "Never underestimate my frying pan." He said throwing himself forward and flipped round sending out another blast of energy towards the wolf. Its soul had been heavily damaged and its body was scorched, but it was still standing. "Looks like you need tenderizing some more."

With that suddenly a large hammer made of ice appeared above the opponent and slammed down heavily into it. "Cold Hammer." he said and that was when the hot spell before came into true effect. The intense heat was instantly turned into intense cold within the soul of the creature amplifying the effect greatly and causing massive spiritual damage. The creature stood there for a moment frozen in place almost. That was when Magna ended it. He ran in up close and extended energy blades from his gauntlets fueled with soul energy and sliced through the beast's spirit ending it. The form began to dissapear and he began to shrink back to human form. That was when the blades changed to ordinary ones and he snicked off a large chunk of fur and held up like a trophy. "Now where's the alpha..." It was that point that he noted a few familiar scents. It seemed his guildmaster was about. How interesting. Was she here for the actual job or had she heard the rumours and come to get him some ingredients? Probably the former, but he could live and hope.

What had been going on for the most of the evening? As soon as Izayuki had ordered everyone to split up, Seika, too, had taken a route in the opposite direction of the others. She was perfectly capable of matching their strengths, and with her yokai mimicry, she could remember and use the signature elements of the mages around her as her own, as creatively as she wanted. She was not able to use specific spells that belonged to other mages, yet managed to use their basic element. Typically, she stuck with ice, as she was always near Izayuki, the Glacier God Slayer. Unlike Iza’s ice, however, which was infused with darkness, Seika’s ice remained normal in nature. She had also learned how to use fire, electricity, earth, water, wind, and basic elements overall. When it came to the more complicated ones, however, Seika typically was much more inexperienced with their usage, as one could expect. A prime example was when she managed to attempt activation of soul magic. Having never encountered the magic before, or at least not often, Seika had caused a giant explosion and even fractured a portion of her own soul, severing two tiny fragments. She had felt dizzy and not quite like herself, incomplete, for lack of a better term, until that one strange man, Niyol, had managed to put her soul back together and heal her injuries. Despite his cold behavior towards her, according to his daughter, Kateri, he had indeed been worried. Funny way of showing it, but really, Seika could say the same about herself.

The blue moon of the timely harvest illuminated Seika’s alabaster white fur with its pale light as she remained in her small, comfortable, yokai form. The body itself was ambiguous, with any who were familiar with ayakashi being unable to identify it as a specific species of its kind. Was she a kitsune, a fox? Surely not. A tanuki, or raccoon dog? Never. A cat, either a Bakeneko or Nekomata, seemed plausible, judging by her tail and form. Then again, there was something else lingering in her features. Itachi, maybe? It could not be a Kappa, Inugami, Tengu, Hebi, Oni, or any other type of yokai. Seika was firmly mammalian, and not identifiable by many means. She hardly noticed, however, and was just proud to be one of those mysterious yokai that nobody could label.

She levitated the village houses and kept her cyan eyes open for signs of more obvious threat. Quite a few people beneath her had already transformed into werewolves, but they did not seem to be doing much outside of sniffing and prowling about, so why confront them just yet? Seika planned to continue observing, until a sudden pain shot through her body, initiated by some fire or other in her head. The flash of pain downed the floating yokai instantly, but thankfully, she managed to land on the roof of a house in the village, so far safe from the monstrous canines lurking around. Bringing a white-furred paw to her head, Seika cringed from the sudden feeling. What could that have been? Clenching her teeth, the white mew-like creature tried her best to pull herself up to her paws, balancing with her tail.

The tiny yokai was about to fly off again when a voice whispered through her mind. “Why, I never thought I would find you here again, out of all people. I am surprised that I did not notice sooner.”
The voice was feminine and delicate, yet formal and held an air of maturity about it. Why was she hearing it now, though, inside her head? Was this some trick of the blue moon or a clever magical wolf hiding below, or was it some other threat?

“Tch,” Seika replied with only a grunt, deciding to dismiss the voice and not engage it. She was not crazy… maybe it had just been her imagination. If not, she would get to the bottom of it, but not let it get the better of her. ”You really don’t remember, do you? Well, I suppose that is to be expected after what I did with you. Goodness, you poor thing. I certainly did a number on you; you’re a new person altogether.”

Giving a sigh, the small yokai continued to ignore the voice as she climbed up to a higher peak on the roof. ”Don’t try to fly now. You can’t. And don’t ignore me either- I’m talking.”
The words caused Seika to freeze. She tried to activate her casual levitating ability, but found herself unable to find it within her. “What?” she snarled under her breath. “What pathetic joke is this? If you want to speak with me, show yourself, baka!”

With a snicker, the voice continued. ”I don’t need to show myself. I’m right here with you, after all, residing in the corners of your mind. Have you really forgotten that much? Well, I can fix that. You want me to explain?”
Seika was about to reply with another sarcastic, angry, and snarky comment before the voice interrupted again, not allowed the ambiguous yokai to respond. ”Fine, have it your way…. Wingstock.

Suddenly, a fire swept across Seika’s field of vision. She could feel the intense heat, the flames licking at her body. Only, her body did not feel like her own. She could scarcely tell what she was currently, despite her transformation knowledge. Was she human, or was she an animal? The nightmare she saw before her was only an illusion, but not one that the yokai’s mind could comprehend. There amidst the world of fire, ash, and embers was a familiar figure and scent… so nostalgic. No wait- it wasn’t.
    It was.

Despite the screen of smoke stinging her eyes and making them water, and filling her lungs, forcing her to cough and hack in the burning air, Seika called out towards the figure, the only one she could identify as close. Family. “Tsubomi!” Her sister.
A sudden shadow overtook her vision, and she was tossed into another bitter memory. Imprisonment, and confinement to a hell where she had agreed to reside. For what purpose? None other than to stay in place of one of the few people who actually meant something to her, her youngest sister. Her father, brother, and other little sister had abandoned them, and who knew where their mother was? No, she was alone. And dead.

Or was she? ”That is where I come in,” the voice snickered again, as realization flooded into her ears. Of course… the voice… how could she not have identified it earlier? “Ecclesia…”
Yes, the Daemon had managed to drag her out of the hellish Haze she had been trapped in, in turn for a debt. Later on, after having gained a new family, someone to love, a new home, and much power…. It was all taken away, in turn for her earlier rescue. Why had she succumbed to such an offer? Why suddenly see a ray of hope, a light, take it, and agree to possibly have it taken away? It was too much. “So you figured it out, didn’t you?”

The small yokai lied against the peak of the rooftop, panting, a paw covering one eye, and her tail lashing back and forth as the onflow of memories ignited immense pain to flood her body. “Damn you…”

“Don’t shoot the messenger… oh wait. Nevermind. I did all of that to you, didn’t I? Heh, you fool,” Ecclesia snickered, obviously enjoying the pain of her former victim. ”Fancy seeing you here again, after everything. Want me to tell you the rest of the story? I’m pretty sure you are missing a few pieces…”

Seika was unable to respond as she dug her claws into the rooftop, clenching her teeth not so much in pain, but in frustration. The last thing she remembered was saving her sister from death yet again, and later finding herself attacked by the Daemonic monster, Ecclesia, and having her powers sapped from her. Was it in that order? She could not know. ”Don’t worry, I’ll be brief. If you recall, I nabbed the part of your spirit where your powers resided. That power became a being all its own, and you, a disposable weakling… I simply stuffed your spirit inside of a half-dead Kamaitachi-Kitsune Youkai. It seems upon me doing that, you lost all of your memories. Probably for the better, but here they are again, my dear ‘Seika’.”

A Kamaitachi-Kitsune….? Of course. Sometimes hybrids of certain yokai failed to survive. That was hundreds of years ago though… or was it? “Get out of my head!! I’m not that person anymore! I’m me, Seika, a yokai! Get the fuck out and leave me alone!” she screamed in rage at the Daemon who was provoking her thoughts, unravelling all of her sealed memories in the most tormenting way possible. “I don’t want this… Just leave. I don’t care anymore.”

”As you wish. My work here is done. You provided me plenty of entertainment for the night as it is. But before I go, I shall give you the identity of your separated power. I’m not so cruel to leave you hanging in the dark~” Ecclesia answered, chuckling as she talked in her smooth and silky voice. “Shut up! I don’t care!”

”Oh, but you should… after all, it ‘is’ your old partner. Yukionna, the goddess of ice, cold, winter, north winds, frozen deaths…. Don’t you know her well. After all, who was the one to commission you, a yokai assassin, to kill the Glacier God Slayer, Izayuki, who betrayed none other than your ‘other half’? Only, you were subdued by that tanuki and that demon slayer, Kite… who appears to not be too far off...”

“That’s enough!” Seika raged again, wishing she could just will the evil spirit away just like that. She forced herself to her paws despite the pain, snarling, and feeling her cyan eyes burn red as her yokai instincts attempted to control her reason, logic, morals, and emotion. At this point, she did not care anymore, she simply wanted to be free…

”Heh, do me a favor, and don’t forget. Ignorance is bliss, and I’ve stolen that from you too. You won’t be the same now, or ever again~” Ecclesia left her last taunt hanging in the air as she faded from Seika’s mind. The Daemon was none other than Alice, who typically lurked deep within Izayuki’s soul and mind, being the one who had granted her the power and magic of Wonderland. She had taken notice of Seika’s familiar soul and presence, however, and already having a link to the alabaster yokai, Ecclesia had temporarily shifted the main part of her consciousness over, and projected her presence in that simple way.

It had been worth it. Seika was left broken, much more than ever before. Back in her life as Wingstock, a single name among many others, she had lost her family, her home, her dear sister, and even the one she loved the most. She was separated from them all again, having lost them more than twice now. Never would she see them again, and all memory of them never existed in this world to begin with. She was utterly alone… alone and miserable. Was it even worth it anymore? She had tried to move on with her life, and it had been easy, with none of those memories shaping her identity. She was free to be Seika, the mysterious hybrid yokai, partnered with Izayuki, an ace of Black Rose… no. Who was she now? Had she ever been Seika, or was that all a lie?

Atop that lonely roof under the blue moon, Seika smelled a familiar scent approaching. Why her, of all people? The alabaster yokai wanted to simply be alone in her miserable memories. Who was she anymore? Did she even have a right to face or know anyone she did?

The Bakedanuki floated up to the roof using her own ability to fly, and crouched down next to the shivering small mew-like creature. “Seika… what’s wrong?” Izayuki asked, sincere concern in her pink eyes as she gaze down at her teary-eyed friend.

The hybrid yokai refused to answer. She simply could not. What was she to say? Would the other ayakashi even believe her? “I-I…” Seika trailed off, her body still trembling and in pain, her mind and memories still ablaze. “I’m so lost.”
She said no more as the Bakedanuki scooped Seika up in her arms, gently, and held her close and securely. Izayuki would not let anything come near her dear friend and companion. She did not know what had transpired while she was away fighting the alpha female lycan, but Seika mattered much more than any werewolf or villager, in Iza’s mind. She would continue sitting there, safe on the roof, hugging Seika tight, and observing the world below with only enough care to freeze and slow down werewolves in range of her Freezing Aura. She did not need to be up and close for a battle to ensue. She would do her job, but her dear friend came first, as would anyone she treasured. “It’s okay, Seika. You don’t have to tell me. But I’ll always be here for me, so don’t you ever worry~” Izayuki murmured in a hushed voice, whispering softly into the night.

Thanks to the man's experience facing off against that machine, Ein Heim, he was well-informed mentally on how to combat monsters and other beings much larger than he. Therefore he was capable of reading the gigantic werewolf's movements. Plus, with it being in a rage-induced state, it was far easier to outsmart the creature in comparison to a machine that bore no emotions at all. Its speed despite its size however was nothing to underestimate though. Even for Hero, this was difficult to manage while also trying to minimize damage to the houses and villagers still in the area. The beast's fur and size gave Yamamoto the assumption that this one had to be the strongest of the entire group: the alpha. Of course it was his luck that he had to be the one finding the strongest werewolf in the entire village. The giant sighed mentally as he dodged the creature's wide swipes by jumping in toward the beast. Every time he did so, he would manage to get two to three hits in on either of its legs and for a while that worked really well. Eventually, however, the beast became more angry and leaped several meters away, into a group of others of its kind which caused that group to start fighting with the Alpha. Hero stood there for a moment and thought to himself, "What the hell? You getting so frustrated you want something you can hit?" Yamamoto broke into a giant leap himself and headed quickly toward the group that gradually turned into a gigantic mob.

Getting over some of the houses, he was starting to be able to see the mob more clearly and it looked like the alpha was taking damage from them all. It would be scary if it didn't but still. On the other hand, two or three werewolves at a time were being launched away into evacuated buildings and were not getting back up. Before he went in to tend to the baddy, the man darted to each of said houses to check on the downed beasts and all of them had begun to turn back to their human forms, which was a very good thing. These things were seemingly endless, so things would have been far worse if they had continued to get up after taking so much damage. It was also good to note that they reverted after getting to a certain threshold so as long as he and others did not go overboard, they were going to all make it through the night. The main issue though was the big bad boss roughly twenty meters from the giant's current position. Hero counted a total of twenty-five that were down for good in the scattered, destroyed buildings plus the three he took down on his way into the village. That was a grand total of twenty-eight werewolves and that was on his end alone, which would have meant there were plenty more than that elsewhere. Hopefully, other wizards managed to make it here in time to keep the beasts contained.

The alpha was torn up from head to toe but it showed no signs of falling over any time soon. Even after that giant mob of them, it still wasn't down. At that moment, the creature turned to look at Yamamoto whom was just analyzing its physical condition. "Shit, alright. Come on, big boy. I'll take you on." Yamamoto's face remained solid but his blood was boiling and his heart was pounding happily, being able to constantly face such powerful adversaries. Steadily, his wish of becoming stronger was coming true; as the man ran straight toward the beast, a very small grin appeared on his face and then he dug one foot deep into the concrete and launched himself at the alpha. The force of the push caused a small crater in the ground and his speed was enough to take the beast just off-guard enough to get under his claws and yelled aloud as he made contact with its chest, "Take this! HERO'S WILL!" As he said those words, the beast buckled under the massive amount of pressure, and due to the damage it had already sustained so far to its legs, he could not withstand the blow-back of the strike. The creature made a howl of pain and was thrown fifteen meters away from the point of impact. In response to that, Yamamoto continued the assault by running off at a full sprint toward it while it was still flying through the air. The giant's large stride allowed him to make it to the beast just after it landed and began striking it again. In an effort to take it out at that moment, he decided to use the new spell he figured out by coincidence. The giant charged a massive amount of ethernano into his arms and then struck the beast five solid times in the area where he struck it just a moment ago. Before he could land the finishing blow though, the alpha werewolf shoved his claws through his chest and forced him to cough up a bit of blood. However, Hero did not relent. He gritted his teeth and said to the beast, "Go back into hibernation you rabid dog." A large grin stretched across his face as he threw his left fist at the beast's chest and made it buckle again, only this time it fell directly to the ground with its eyes rolled into its head and smoke billowing from its mouth.

The man was bleeding from his chest and back, due to the alpha's claws, but it had luckily missed his vital organs so he was capable of continuing the task at hand. He still had to find the other people he was to meet with after all. As Hero walked away, the alpha slowly started to turn back to a human... and far into the distant sky, the sun was just beginning to show signs of rising. The night was just about over thankfully.

As Magna stood there observing the area something deep within him told him something. It was something that in truth dissapointed him, but at least it meant that the greatest danger had been taken care of. What this inner voice told him was that the soul of the ingredient that was the alpha wolf's fur was no longer present. That suggested that someone had managed to beat the wolf before he had a chance to try and get the ingredient. Truly a disappointment. He scanned the area with his red eyes faded back to golden looking for any sign of the guildmaster Izayuki. Joining up with her seemed like a wise decision especially when he could smell so many werewolves still active. The biggest threat, and the best ingredient, might of been taken, but there were still many other threats. Numbers alone could overwhelm them and Magna, whilst incredibly dangerous, did not believe himself much of a fighter when compared to others. This was perhaps contradicted by how easily he had taken down the omega werewolf, said to be one of the strongest werewolves in existence. He wondered if he would have to wait fifty years for the alpha to resurface so he could get the other ingredient or if instead it woulds surface somewhere in the world. Or at least something similar so that he wouldn't of wasted his time so far. From what his instincts told him the silver fur of the omega werewolf was only useful when combined with the fur of the golden alpha. Though it seemed Frosty, the ice spider monkey spirit who inhabited his body, quite liked it. Toasty, the fire spider monkey spirit, however seemed disappointed they would not get the other fur. It didn't quite match his colouration as much as the omega's matched Frosty, but he still was annoyed. In fact, he almost seemed jealous. That was rather odd for two spirits that essentially represented the harmony of heat and cold within him.

As he stood there pondering things suddenly the knife on his waist began to glow brightly and an armored figure flew into the air slamming into a werewolf that had suddenly leapt up towards him silently. The two collided into the roof of a nearby building and with a powerful single double fist blow the armored figure had knocked the wolf out cold. It too began to return back to its human form. "You are too distracted Magna. If I had not been watched then you'd have yet another animalistic trait." the knight said reproachfully and Magna blushed running a hand through his hair. "A trait that might actually conflict with the power of the cerberus." Magna considered this briefly. The cerberus slayer lacrima he had gained from defeating a cerberus allowed him to directly harm souls, but it also allowed him to do more damage against canine opponents. It was one of the reasons he'd been able to so easily take down the omega werewolf. However, how would his body react if he himself became part canine? It was certainly an interesting conundrum, but one that would have to be pondered another day.

Why would it need to be pondered another day? Because it seemed that the defeat of the omega werewolf had summoned up a lot more wolves. There were at least five now present, excluding the one that Aegis had just brought down, and all five were making their way towards Magna. Perhaps to avenge the omega or perhaps they sensed him as a threat because of his cerberus slayer, and thus canine slaying, nature. Five opponents was not an easy feat and not something he could easily manage. He'd used a lot of magic power in the battle with the omega. Almost a third of his magic power was gone and now he had five opponents. With Aegis here that made it five versus two battle which wasn't exactly the best odds, but it was better than five versus one.

The five leapt towards him and suddenly Magna span round extending energy blades from his gauntlets to increase his range. As he did so a grid of energy in a dome formed around him that blasted back the oncoming werewolves sending them flying. It would only do a small amount of damage, but it would at least get them off his back for a brief moment. What's more the damage done was to the soul of the wolf within each rather than the physical body or the soul of the human. Already he could see a slight change. Their fur appeared less thick and their claws a little less sharp. They were still however a major threat and one he would have to deal with. Aegis, despite the weight of his armor, leaped back over and from the gem in his helmet a large golden axe formed. This was the weapon known as Rex and was his best form of attack. "Good to have you with me on this one Aegis. I don't think i'd be enough alone."

"I'll always be by your side. One way or another." the knight replied spinning the axe and letting off a flare of his own magic to try to intimidate the wolves and also to try and make them attack him over Magna.

In truth it was both successful and unsuccessful. Several werewolves who had been gunning for Magna after defeating the Omega now turned their attacks on Aegis, but not all of them as he intended. If all of them had attacked the knight then he would of merely held them off whilst Magna picked them off with his spell combinations and other techniques. They made a lethal pair in truth with Aegis a close range monster with his axe/spear whilst Magna had a lot of techniques that worked well at range to devastate opponents using combinations of spells. However, Magna wasn’t exactly a slouch in close combat either it just meant that his combinations wouldn’t be quite as useful, but still he was dangerous. In fact, if it was one on one fights there was little chance they would lose though perhaps it might involve killing the werewolves rather than saving them. The real threat was the numbers. With those numbers neither could go all out for fear of killing the wolves and they could easily get blindsided or caught by an unexpected attack. It was truly a dangerous fight.

A group of three wolves charged at the knight claws and fangs bared. They came from three sides, but none of them even got close. As soon as they were about to lay into him with their clawshe suddenly pole vaulted over the top of one smashing it into the roof The other two collided with eachother and landed atop the one he’d slammed into the roof. He stood there calmly waiting for them to get back up. There were no more that were coming for him that he could sense so he was going to keep them occupied until Magna could work his magic, literally in this case. He could probably quite easily kill them, but that was not the task at hand. He had to keep them alive.

Magna however was in fact occupied. Three wolves were attacking him as well, but these seemed a bit faster and stronger than the three attacking Aegis. Like with Aegis they came in from three angles, but they were much smarter. When he leapt into the air and propelled himself above them they did not collide because they came at an angle that caused them to miss. They were not just that smart though. No, they were much smarter. One of them grabbed the arm of another and swung round throwing himself into the air and straight at Magna. Magna in truth was quite impressed by this, but what they didn’t expect was the frying pan that suddenly appeared in his tail and swung round slamming down upon the wolf. Its own physical movement combined with Magna’s own swing caused it quite the headache. It fell down heavily, but Magna was not yet safe. The other two had used this moment as a diversionary tactic and attacked from both sides.

What they hadn’t expected was for Magna to blast himself downwards using his gauntlets to slam into the one he’d hit and send it smashing through the roof. Whilst it was down he quickly sliced it with the blades of his gauntlets. Both used soul energy and sliced the werewolf part taking it out. One werewolf saved with one to go. The other two growled at the opening. They were angry, but they were also fearful. It had taken down the Omega and that alone was pretty impressive. Enough to scare a lot of them, but they thought numbers might be the thing to do it. After all, wolves hunted in packs for a reason. Perhaps if the omega had not been fighting solo then it wouldn’t of been beaten. However, now they weren’t 100% sure. He had so easily handled a three way attack and hadn’t even got a scratch. The other three were also being easily handled by the knight that had come out of nowhere. Werewolves, like wolves relied on instinct, and as such they didn’t think on strategies too much. No, they just worked seemlessly, but they had lost. They were scared. What was here just appeared to be a human but he was wiping the floor with them.

Magna tilted his head in confusion as he watched them. In truth he was bit frightened as well. In an open environment like the rooftops he had an edge. He could use his gauntlets to fly about freely and dodge about. In something enclosed like this the ingredients at his disposal were much fewer. There was also no easy way out. If he turned his back to go to the door behind him they’d likely see that as an opening. If he backed away they’d think him scared and attack. There was only one way forward. From each of his hands launched a fork of energy that caused them to leap back and he threw himself upwards using the gauntets using the brief opening to escape. Now he just had two to face. Well, one actually because as he’d come up out of the hole he’d blasted towards one and sliced into it turning it back human with his energy blades again. One opponent left and then he could help Aegis.

Not that Aegis exactly needed help. In his battle he’d already managed to use the werewolves seeming inability to co-ordinate a combination to bring their numbers down. They weren’t dead or unconscious, but one of them found itself pinned against a chimney by the scruff of its neck using the golden axe. The other two were finding out that Aegis wasn’t exactly a slouch when it came to unarmed combat. One came in close and received a swift right jab to the jaw followed by a left cross that sent it spinning into the other. He didn’t let up though and dashed in hitting one of them with another swift jab followed by a backflip kick that sent it soaring upwards.

It was that one soaring upwards that was the next target of Magna. The wolf he was fighting was sent flying into that one and the two collided and began to fall directly onto Magna who had his energy blades at the ready. The remaining one Aegis grabbed and held still. Enough for Magna to turn it back human. It seemed that everything was over. Or at least so they thought. Magna just had to go to the one pinned and disable it then they were home free. They’d of easily taken care of enough to prevent the werewolf spreading. Especially with the likes of Izayuki there.

Or at least that was the plan. Suddenly, the axe came flying at them like a spinning blade and the two barely dodged it. The remaining werewolf had managed to free itself and hurled it. The slight opening was enough for it to charge in and sink its fangs into the space between Aegis armored joints.

“AEGIS!” Magna shouted as the knight roared out in pain and seemed to dissolve back into light forming at his waist. Magna had never seen the knight go down in combat. The single blow shouldn’t of been enough to do so, but something had happened. Magna let out a roar his six armed, three faces form returning. All of them displayed anger as he charged in. The wolf turned to look at him and saw the vengeful demonic figure coming towards it. It let out a whimper and turned to retreat, but Magna caught it by the tail and swung it once slamming it into the roof before hurling it upwards.

He leaped upwards behind it using his gauntlets and let out a flurry of punches. Magna was royally pissed and this was something no-one had ever seen of him before. He kept moving about the wolf keeping it airborne, juggling it as it were. The beasts bones were broken, its body bloodied and beaten before he stopped and jammed a soul blade through it to turn it back to human. He stared at it for a moment in disbelief. The human was beaten rather badly. “What...what did I do? What have I done?” he said in shock. “I’m so sorry.” With that he let out a golden mist that began to heal the wounds before turning and running. He was afraid if he stayed he’d do something worse. Werewolves were the last thing he wanted to face right now. Not after one had hurt Aegis.

As he ran he placed a hand on the knife at his side, but there was no response from the knight. That worried him more than anything. Something was very wrong, but he needed to get somewhere safe before he could find out what. He didn’t want to fight anymore. IF he did that anger of his might come out and next time he might forget to use a soul blade. His battles today were done. He had won, but why did he feel like he had also lost?

    Kite Wilhelm
Faith won’t always save you. My flames will do that instead.

He couldn't see them, the wolves hadn't come out from hiding in the darkness that flooded the woods that surrounded the parameter of the village but he could tell that the majority of the wolves that trained their noses onto him weren't surrounding him yet. The important fact Kite needed to know when dealing with these wolves were if all twenty were part of one pack, it's common knowledge that wolves are highly social animals and travel in units labeled as packs. He was aware that It was in these packs they plan, hunt and communicate. Typically when a pack of wolves find their prey they will attempt to surround their target and cause it to back into another wolf’s bite and usually a pack of wolves is a tightly knit group of 6-7, usually of the same blood line in one way or another however with these wolves being people who turn into werewolves there are too many variables to pinpoint where one pack ends and another begins. Kite  ”It would be best to play it safe with these mutts and assume that they are all in cahoots with each other.“ The white dragon would inhale deeply, taking in each and every scent he could this paired with heightened hearing allowed him to come to a solid conclusion that a majority of these werewolves were out in the woods while towards the village there were very little but that wasn't all he managed to pick up. By some sort of chance or very dumb luck he caught the faint scent of both Iza and her companion Seika. ”I was already going to head towards the village and take out the few number of enemies on the way and let the horde come to me. But now I have another reason to go in the village.“ he would turn to face the direction that the village was in and he made a run for it. He was in a full sprint side stepping and juking around tree that came up in his path but it wasn't the trees he was keeping himself aware of, he knew that there were wolves getting closer as he ran while he had a bunch more tailing him. Whether they be the wolves ahead of him or behind him they were hunters and most likely slightly smarter than standard wolves so he had readied his mind for an inevitable confrontation, it was unavoidable after all he was on their turf and they had the advantage.

He would draw closer to the village but was still had some way to go when his first opponent greeted him with a not so warm welcome. From behind a tree wolf number one ambushed the dragon slayer with a stiff and strong claw swipe in his chest. The impact of which was powerful enough to knock Kite right onto his back. The attack was surprising but Kite didn't dwell on being caught off guard for more than a second, he didn't have such luxury at the moment. No he had to focus his attention and energy in getting back up before his attacker would continue his assault. Kite was still flat on his back but he would look up to see the wolf coming at his head thinking quickly Kite positioned his arms by his head with them bent and his hands pressing into the ground. His legs would be bent and tucked up towards his gut and would use his core to lift his hips off the ground as if he was about to do a back roll but instead of rolling through he stopped at the point where he had transferred all his weight onto his hands and just as the wolf was with in range he pushed with his arms and fully extended them as he would push out with his legs landing a stiff kick under the wolf’s chin causing to click shut. It would yelp before caressing his muzzle with his huge claws. While it did this Kite’s feet would meet the ground but instead of coming up to a vertical base to assume a fighting stance he would crouch down and with the support of his arms he would rotate and perform a low sweeping kick and kick the base out from the wolf. Now the tables were turned in Kite's favor, he had the high ground and he wasn't about to give the wolf a chance to recover. Reaching over his shoulder he would take his sword into his hand and arm himself with it but before he could go anywhere with his attack the sudden emergence  of a second wolf would cause him to change focus. A swiping claw was common at him and his reaction was to use the rose saber to defend. It was a trap, the wolf would take hold of the sword by the blade despite cutting itself in the process. This wasn't a problem, What the problem was wasn't the attack he he defended it was the attack he didn't see coming. From out of the darkness a wolf flanked him and would sink it's teeth into the mage’s sword arm and would clamp down hard. The dragon slayer would cry out in pain and released his weapon. ”I'll get you back.“ he would say to the wolf that had his arm in its mouth. Kite didn't try to shake his arm free from the maw of the wolf, he knew the grip would be too strong to break from by merely pulling it away but that had also given Kite a good idea on how to deal with it. His foot would lift his leg up and would slam the heel into the wolf with a stiff Spartan kick while simultaneously turning and gripping on the wolf that had his teeth sunk into Kite's arm. ”Here boy, we are going for a ride.“ his body glowed a bright white color ”White Dragon’s flight.“ and in a flash Kite took to the sky with the wolf with him. It would Yelp from the sudden surprise and loosen its grip on Kite's arm but the slayer wasn't letting it go. ”You're not going anywhere mutt.“ Kite would go about ten meters high before looping around to drive the wolf back towards the ground. As soon as he was five meters away from the ground he released the wolf and let it slam into the ground with Kite landing right next to it. By this point the first wolf he encountered and the wolf who has grabbed ahold of his sword were back on their feet and snarling at the dragon slayer. ”I didn't forget about you two. I'm out of treats though so you will have to just deal with the alternative instead.“ he lunged at them still cloaking by the spell that allowed him to fly freely with two trails of light streaming from his arms. ”White Dragon’s wing attack.“ were the would speak as he threw his arms in front of him causing waves of light to crash into both wolves as he raced past them. Both would fly into trees smacking hard on impact while he would slide to a stop on his feet, skidding across the ground due to the momentum with his feet stopping just before a shiny and familiar object on the ground but a chance to celebrate was foiled by the sound of the third wolf back on the attack. It was coming up from behind to attack Kite's exposed back, the dragon slayer would slam his foot on the edge of the object he found and spinning in the air in front of him was in fact his rose saber. Quickly snatching it from the handle Kite would spin and meet the sharp claws of the attacking wolf with the sound of the clash echoing throughout the woods, reverberating off the trees. Surely enough to catch the attention of any wolves nearby. Knowing that an army of beasts would be coming soon he had to end the fight with these wolves.

Kite would release the handle of his sword with his right and and brought it back, chambering it for a hard strike however once it was in position it began to glow white around the enclose fist. ”White Dragon’s Shine breaker.“ and with that his fist would slam into the wolf’s stomach and shooting behind him out from his hand was a stream of light that pushed hard into the wolf and once it hit its high point his punch pushed hard and sent the wolf flying at the end of the strike, right into his two friends crashing into them as they attempted to get back to their feet. With the three of them prone on the ground Kite has already began the attack to finish them off. He held the rose out to the side and it was glowing in power and with a horizontal swipe he sent a wave of energy into the wolves taking them down.

The sound of twigs snapping from the surrounding brush was enough to convince him not to use bushes to pin them down and that his attention was needed elsewhere. Coming out from the woods were seventeen were wolves and all of them circled around him. See how much the odds weren't in his favor Kite has a plan, a strategy to deal with the pack around him. He pulled out 6 elemental explosive lacrima, ”This worked wonders for Ibara… My turn.“ he would look up at the wolves all reading him waiting for him to move to strike, similarly to the fixed strategy from regular wolves. ”I don't got time to mess with you.“ his nose still had the scent of Iza pinned in the village ”I'll take you all down so she will be safe. You lot won't touch her.“ Kite dropped all 6 lacrima at once and from them a bright explosion of light erupted from the drop point.

For the wolves the light was blinding but for Kite, the light was delicious. The brilliant light that shined from the explosion instead of expanding outwards all began to be sucked to where Kite was standing. He could feel his magic power restoring but it didn’t stop there either, he kept inhaling sucking in the light that shined down from the harvest moon  the taste was exquisite and had a unique rarity to it. ”I don’t know if I even need to use this, but I won’t risk it, none of you will get to anyone else here.’” His magic aura was pulsating and growing at an alarming rate. He had only ever entered Demon force on two occasions as a demon slayer, the first was when he and he saw his friend Mao get hurt during a job, the second time was the one that condemned the Demon slayer to a sin filled soul. Now was the time to unleash his full new power but deep down inside he hoped this power would be enough to protect the ones he cared for. ”let’s go… Dragon Force!“ he would murmer as light pulsed off of him like a beacon and from around him from his feet and up light exploded around him in a fiery aura. Scales covered his arm causing protruding scales to form. In his hair symbols appeared in a bright light blue color and around his eyes scales appeared but in the appearance as if they were busting through the skin. He looked down at his hands to see the the results of the transformation, ”This power seems different. It’s not weaker or stronger than Demon force...its almost….lighter.“ he would look up at the wolves who covered their eyes from the bright light and smirked. It was time to get to work. ”White Dragon’s Roar!“ he would shout and unleash a vortex of light into a five of the wolves causing them to fall back from it. A group of 6 wolves would all pounce on the Dragonslayer at once which was a huge mistake for them, right as they were on top of him he was already making his counter attack, ”White Dragon’s Holy Pillar!“ a magic circle surrounded him and a pillar of light shot from around him and upward catching all six wolves in the attack and sending them up into the air. With enhance speed and power Kite jumped above them and launched another attack ”White Dragon’s Burst stream of destruction.“ and a the large cone shaped roar attack made its second appearance of the night catching the airborne wolves in the blast and sending them to the ground followed by the dome of light that would follow swallowing those wolves and five others in the expanding dome. Once the light had settled all that was left were several wolves out cold and barren area where there were once lush vegetation. Kite would land causing the impact points of both of his feet to crush the ground under him. His hand were cupped together and already collecting a concentration of light and quickly expanded into a titanic ball of white light magic. ”White Dragon’s Draco Crusher!” and from his grip the ball would smash into a group of the wolves taking them out in an explosion. With only a handful left Kite would end this in style, he would use a move he had been working on for a little while. Light would manifest itself around his body at an alarming rate illuminating the surrounding area as bright as a shining star but it became a real sight to see when the light swirled around him like a cyclone. ”Dragon Slayer secret art Dragon Emperor’s supreme flight!“ and with that he launched himself at the remaining wolves smashing into them with possibly his strongest move sending them flying away. Kite released his form and reverted back to his normal form, exhausted from using such a high output of power he gingerly walked towards where Iza’s scent was and he would arrive on the border of the village just as the sun was rising in the distance. It was from there he saw Iza ontop of a house holding her pet, he was tempted to see if they were alright but it would seem that nor he was needed at the moment. ”See ya...“ he would turn and head back into the forest leaving their reunion for another occasion.
