The moment fate had in store... (Private w/ Famine)

As Famine moved to glare over the edge of the massive wall she stood she knew there was only one way down. With that and not a speck of hesitation the let herself take the drop. The feeling of falling was quite exhilarating, the wind brushing her hood and hair back past her eyes, the gravity pulling her closer and closer to the ground. Until all at once a dark spinning form opened from the ground which would of otherwise sealed her fate. She disappeared inside the magic conjured wormhole.

It was only moments later her frame pulled out of the shadow formed by a chimney a few blocks away from the prior location, landing elegantly on the rooftop with a feint clatter of shingles beneath her heels. Her hood fell back over her head ever so delicately

Famine didn’t even have to turn her head to identify the owner of the voice. She would stay level and calm this time… Daiki probably had pieced together from their last encounter that… This was not only Rita’s killer, but Rita as well. She turned To Daiki for the first time without the mask over her features. Her visage didn’t seem to tell any specific story... Her expression wasn’t shocked or bitter… just absent.

“You’re the one who ran into me.” She put simply, with sharp and hostile irises, glinting back at Daiki like azure knives.  She casually raised her wrist to her face, turning her attention to it as the little white viper Ai had detected earlier slither between her fingers.

“I spared you in Hargeon.” Famine muttered as the albino snake ringed itself around her pinky finger. Blue pools snapped back to The blonde, piercing her with her eyes. “But people change; I’d get going if I were you.” She sighed, keeping her magic levels balanced and relatively at bay.

Rita, She despised that name anymore for it brought her back to another life. “One, Don’t call me that name anymore.” The young woman spat in reply,  crossing her arms as he small serpent gripped around her elbow. She shuffled forward a step to advance in the blondes direction, heels scraping against grit shingles. “And two, Hadn’t  I told you to get lost?” She inquired, a hostile tone clicking off her tongue. Famine stood, running her fingers up against the surface of her palm idly, black matter sparking in her hand.

Famine’s expression and stance never wavered, even when Daiki seemed to of changed forms before her. Instead, she pursed her mouth to speak “Oh? So is this to intimidate me now or do you want to throw down?...” She’d raise a brow, lips stretching into a flat, and bitter line. Man… she was starting to sound like a real bitch wasn’t she? She… almost felt bad, but suffocated the thought inside her to the best of her ability.

“There’s a difference in listening to someone because you have too and common courtesy don’t cha know?...” Famine put, clicking her tongue as the words escaped. Fate huh? She tried not to grin or chuckle at such foolishness. Instead, she strengthened her monochromatic composure.

“I just did.” With that she formed a pair of shadow-make scissors in her hand, snipping at the air. “That’s all this fate of yours really is, invisible as air, Our minds tricking us into a destiny we may not have been born for.” Dust seemed to begin wafting upwards from the rooftop beneath where she stood.  Just by her energy the shingles under her heels had spiraled into a state of decay at the intensity of her and the tome’s aura.

The dark mage snapped those scissors apart in between her fingers, closing her palm around the maker matter to crush them back into the black smog like form. It looked like the kind that seeped up from massive factory pipes which inflicted pain and pollution to the atmosphere and world around.  This smog didn’t seep off into the horizons but instead was inhaled back into her body. “I think you’re the one whom’s lost her mind here. What will beating each other accomplish, honestly?” Famine remarked with an icy bite in her words. Through the phrases her lips lifted into a smirk, though not a smile of innocent amusement, this was more along the lines of sinister. Like the unsheathing of a blade. -And as she spoke in that harsh, brittle tone she ambled forward towards the spear the Ai held in front of her. Famine could read the devotion in the others irises, sure she was passionate but it would lead her into her own undoing for sure.

Famine showed no sights of intimidation, fear, or provocation. Now, as her heels skidded across the ground one thing came to separate two. It  was that javelin, the point just below her chest where she’d stepped. “Even the brightest beacons waver, break.” With that she was trying to step forward once more, the spearhead rooting through her clothes, puncturing into her skin. “What are you fighting for… This Rita? My body may have been alive this whole time but that girls dead, gone.”

Almost immediately after the lance point had been torn from her body black matter, akin to her shadow make magic spiraled around the hole left behind in her, seeming to patch her back together beneath her suit. Famine looked onto the blonde’s expression mouth pulling up at its corner, and an eye cringed to twist her expression, illustrating the drop in sanity she’d taken since their last encounter. She inhaled, like making a silent giggle, and then she laughed, amusement riffling up in her tone. “Were you always so easily flustered, Daiki.” She grinned the words, looking onward as she lifted the weapon to the heavens, threatening to pierce the fabric of the still dark sky.
The negative light lit up in the reflection of her eyes as it grew in meters and grew and grew, threatening to physically destroy anything which got in its way. T
The light rays finally spit down
Famine’s entertained visage was unchanging even as the beams threatened to hit her. Tattoo clad arms raised, folding with lithe grace above her head, as a black plate rushed to form above her diagonally; the wall cracked but didn’t shatter as one of the rays hit. “Strength? ” she laughed. “Strength isn’t measured by how much magic one can conjure, how hark someone can strike. You’ll learn that the tough way…
There was a calling in the distance without a doubt a grown man’s voice from the ground below. What Famine hadn’t brought up to Daiki was that there were Knights on post in the city on the lookout for mages from the dark guilds, on the lookout for Famine. As She dropped her shield she turned her head in the direction of clanking armor, of marching men. “While I’d love to keep chatting I’d prefer things not to get anymore messy, not exactly tasteful.” She spat, inching backwards towards the edge of the rooftop. “Maybe we’ll meet again under… less ‘hostile’ circumstances.” With that sly and certainly irritating smirk Famine sprung back first off the edge, falling through the negative space.
Of course Famine never let herself actually hit the ground. Blackness enveloped her form mid air and her shape shattered apart like black diamonds, whisking away in the breeze like the death-dust crumpled leaves left behind at the end of autumn.
