    All around, the wind blows
We would only hold on to let go

Spiritual cleansing. Alye needed that sort of thing right now. This year has been absolutely terrible. Alye had her magic stolen from her, her husband had been killed, her guild was burnt to the ground... Any of these things would have broken a normal person, but for them all to happen at once...

Well, good thing Alye was far from normal.

The halls of the Holy Castle blazed brilliantly in the daylight. Stark white doves flew effortlessly through the air around the ramparts as their flags snapped commandingly in the breeze. People mingled about quietly or murmuring back and forth about any number of things. Religion, spirituality, charity. Clergymen dotted with the public, praying or giving them words of wisdom. It was all very calming. Something that the Weather Witch needed right now.

One aspect of Alye's magic was that the weather would always reflect her mood if she didn't focus on keeping the sky clear. Most days, she was okay. Then she'd see a happy couple and get tremendously sad. Or she'd feel the space on her thigh where her guild tattoo had been and be overwhelmed with rage. Just thinking about it made Alye stop walking and take a deep breath. A shiveringly cold wind blew through the landscape that made everyone pause in conversation. The wind hadn't been natural, that much was certain. Those citizens or clergymen that held any magical prowess began to stare in Alye's direction. This reaction made the woman pull her feathered cloak a little tighter around her body. She wasn't here to cause trouble. Just to pay her respects.

To say one last goodbye to Reiki.

A castle? The boy had no recollection of being here, but somehow, here is where the child of Ankhseram was: The Holy Castle. Perhaps this was the doing of the Wakusei Portals, as the omen of death's departure from one its dimensions surely was surprising; his most recent adventure. Alas, he had nothing to worry about now, as his life was still intact, along with his eternal contract with the subordinating god of life and death: Ankhseram. As long as those two things continued to exist, Alito would continue to be both content and depressed; content to enjoy what the future held, and depressed about how long he had lived with such a curse that was his magic.

So, here began another adventure, he supposed; this new adventure after an encounter with an interesting female. This Holy Castle had a peculiar aura to it- an aura that continuously clashed with the darkness of Alito's soul, thereby prohibiting him from killing anything that was not human. The male was honoured to see such a scene; a scene in which everything could be spared, and where Alito could actually enjoy his afternoon. However, there was more to this castle than simply light and figures of royalty. Inside of this castle, you see, upon slowly stepping up towards the main entrance, Alito caught sight of a woman clearly originated from somewhere outside of the castle, itself. Another encounter surely was about to unfold, but was it another cause of the Wakusei Portals? Did the portals have a mind of their own, bringing him here of all places? The thoughts were fascinating, to say the least. Here, Alito would pray to the creator of life, and the god he cherished, as opposed to Ankhseram: God. It had been long since Alito was able to spiritually converse with God, but here was finally able to do so. Albeit, he was still interested in this woman he thought about in the meantime, but only after he made a short prayer.

"I pray that my curse turn into a gift." Alito prayed aloud, and straightforwardly. There was nothing more to say, really. The arrogant mind that was Alito's mind was concerned of nothing else than his magic. Had it not been so, Alito would have prayed for everything else, surely, but as far as the boy was aware, this was the only trouble the child of Ankhseram found. He would wait until the woman was in a comfortable state to make it clear that there was not just one person who did not reside in the Holy Castle. Until then, he merely walked around, and embraced the royal atmosphere.

    All around, the wind blows

Alye began walking towards the entrance to the castle once more. It would seem that the place they were in was just a open air courtyard that people seemed to flock to when they wanted to partake in church activities that were too loud to be done inside the quiet hallowed halls. She'd already garnered some unwanted attention so she decided that going to the altar quickly and then getting out of here would be the best idea.

As Alye walked forward towards the towering doors that were opened to the public today, she couldn't help but get swallowed up by her thoughts. There had been a time where Alye herself had been revered as a Goddess herself. Yet, when her magic had been siphoned from her spirit, her connection to the divines was completely severed. She didn't miss the worship. Nor did she miss the power. What she missed most was the peace, the serenity. Left braced and broken, Alye had no idea what to do with herself anymore. Her husband - her guild - it was all gone. What would you do if everything you held dear was suddenly ripped from you?

The white-haired woman had been so engrossed in her sad musings that she didn't even realize that she'd ran right into - and knocked down a elderly woman. She snapped to quickly. Her son looked at her with abhorrence. "How dare you!? Can't you see she's already in pain!" Alye's blue eyes blinked for a moment before she recognized the pain arching through the woman's face. The white-haired woman knelt down - her light blue cloak billowing out around her. "How did you get hurt?", she asked simply while her words danced on the winds. "It's just a old ache from a fall a couple years ago." Her son gave Alye an annoyed look. "And you certainly didn't help anything running into her like a idi-" He would have finished his remark if he hadn't noticed the side look that Alye gave him. The sheer lethality of her gaze scared him into silence.

A Goddess - former or not - is not something to trifle with.

Alye reached out towards the woman and muttered something before a slight breeze rolled through the pavilion again. This one was different, however. It was light and benevolent. Just breathing it in seemed to give life to everyone around. The fingers on her outstretched hand twirled for a moment before the air around the woman began to sparkle and twinkle for a couple of seconds. As soon as it had appeared, it vanished. The elderly woman exclaimed. "I-It's gone! The pain is gone!" Alye got to her feet and gave the woman a little smile as she hair billowed in the breeze and her cloak fell against her body again. "I apologize for knocking you over. Have a nice day ma'am." Alye began walking again. "Bless you, oh, bless you!"

Alye said nothing else. She just kept walking forward, hoping to get to the altar sometime soon.

Upon a quick tour of the castle, Alito had come across the prince- having been on the second floor, at this point. "Have you come to dethrone my father?" The prince asked, Alito clearly identified at this point, "Or are you not the omen of death that you once were?" Oh how angry Alito's presence made people sometimes. The prince was a Magi just like Alito here, yet unlike Alito, the prince could hide his magic- and preferred to always do so, actually. "We shall speak another time, old friend." Alito whispered into the prince's ear, "However, do recall that while I can do nothing here, the god that curses me certainly can, and will if you dare announce my curse." The conversation the prince and Alito held would be too quiet for anyone on the floor below to hear, though the thought of anyone else hearing left Alito a bit unsettled. Furthermore, there was still that intriguing lady Alito had yet to introduce himself to. Until then, Alito had to let the prince be, and proceed back towards the main floor.

More surprises awaited Alito there while he slowly made his way back downstairs. All he could hear was excitement from an old lady. If only Alito could bring excitement to someone's face, perhaps he could acknowledge his magic as a gift for once. Albeit, now that a scene had taken place just before the castle, it was time Alito approached it, and used it as an opportunity to meet the woman he initially kept an eye out for. With his hat and eyepatch adjusted perfectly, black jacket and crimson shirt straightened, and his gloves stretched tightly against his hands, Alito smiled brightly, looking at the girl he had been watching over for a while now. "That's quite the magic you have there, miss." Alito began, "Though I'm a wizard, myself, I am quite jealous." This was all Alito would say for now. He simply desired to see how this would all play out. The boy was in awe about what had just happened, while the old lady seemed to look at the other female as if she was a goddess. It truly was a moment Alito could only wish he was responsible for.

A soft sigh left the Windrider's lips. Now she'd attracted much more attention than she wanted. Although, helping that elderly woman did make her feel a bit better. When she'd first joined Eclipse Soul long ago, one of the first things that her master had taught her was the first step to redemption was assisting those without the strength to help themselves. And now that guild was gone. Alye's brow twitched for a moment as she kept moving away.

    Was it all worth it?

The white-haired woman kept walking forward but glanced upwards when she noticed a presence in front of her. Her two eyes locked with one and an eyepatch. Alye stopped. The man in front of her looked to be around her age - or perhaps a bit younger - but his clothes were impeccable in every way. His militaristic garb piqued her interest just a tad. He didn't bear the colors of the Rune Knights or any other military faction that she was aware of. So at this point, Alye could say that she didn't know him. But did he know her? Being a more modest person, Alye isn't one to announce her titles, but she had quite a few. Wizard Saint, Goddess Slayer, Ace of Eclipse Soul, sister to Heero Reyold - the most famous Sorcerer Magazine model ever. Alye had to admit she had a reputation. Did this man want something from her? Was there some armed force looking for her assistance?

She wouldn't know if she didn't speak.

"That's quite the magic you have there, miss." Alye smiled at him just a bit, reflecting his own radiant grin. "Though I'm a wizard, myself, I am quite jealous." Ahh, so that was what Alye had sensed before. Magic power. Although there was something peculiar about it. It seemed so...ancient. It wasn't vibrant and fresh, but more refined and honed. Alye had never sensed something like this before. Alye lifted her left hand and conjured a small ball of wind into her palm. It soon began to sparkle and twinkle as Alye morphed it's properties to their healing form. "I believe any magic can be used for good. But, then again, any magic can also be used for villainy." The lights suddenly died out. The ball began to expand and darken as Alye sucked in pollutants from the air around them. She stared at her dark creation for a moment longer before crushing it in her hand, sending a faint breeze between them.

    It smelled of acid.

"My name is Alye Reyold. It's nice to meet you."

This lady sure was amusing. Normally, Alito could read anyone in this generation like a book, having observed humanity for centuries as of this moment. However, Alito had no recollection of this individual, nor her magic especially in the past. Her presence into this castle was so gentle and innocent, while Alito's attendance only brought shame to that prince's face. On the contrary, Alito and the prince of the Holy Castle had a history of being old friends. Albeit, as of this moment, Alito was eager to converse with this wizard, and felt confident that Ankhseram would not get in the way.

Distorted from reality by these thoughts periodically, Alito was brought back to reality by a certain comment Alye made. "You believe even the darkest of magic can be used for good?" Alito questioned this new face, "Are you posi--" Just as Alito was about to confirm that Alye's statement was justifiable, he could feel the same vibe surge through throughout both the exterior and interior of the castle. Momentarily, the lights shut off, while others collapsed. While Alito thought this second demonstration of the female's power would have the elder and young boy evacuate the scene, they remained in their place, admiring the view. "Alye Reyold..." Alito repeated, "I will keep that name in mind, and in exchange, give you my own: Alito Kizoku. The pleasure is mine." A smile grew upon the lips of Alito at this point. Indeed, Alye was an interesting character, after all.

"That's enough, Alito!" The prince interrupted, "To think you can just come to my castle and do as you see fit-- how dare you?! This castle is as old as you, you know?" So there was going to be some exposure, whether or not Alito liked it, it seemed. "This truly was an accident, sir." Alito replied, "However, I'm sure there can be a compromise." The prince knew exactly what this phrase implied. There had now been two instances that almost leaked Alito's identity as a threat to the kingdom, though the child of Ankhseram meant no harm in both situations. His stay here was desired to be peaceful, though Alito was clearly unafraid of using his magic if the prince dared to get on his tail one last time. Of course, it was not actually Alito's cause for the sudden surge, but for some reason, the boy felt as though God had told him to defend this woman, and so he did.

The white-haired woman stood there stoically as she watched a young man approach that was adorned in ornate robes and jewelry. She knew the look of a royal when she saw one. However, it did perplex Alye that this prince was here. The Holy Castle was a religious establishment. There were no monarchs residing here that Alye knew of. Perhaps he was here for some other reason? Alye's head tilted to the side a bit as she pondered this. He could have actual business here. Though, Alye thought doing business dealings in a church was a bit macabre. Or he might be here to actually worship. That option surprised Alye even more. Most of the royalty she'd met in her lifetime had been terribly spoiled and self-centered.

Alye's attention honed back in on the man in front of her when he finally revealed his identity. Alito Kizoku. She liked it. Had a nice ring to it. Unfortunately her musings were cut short when the Prince came straight over to them and demanded for Alito to stop what he was doing. Except he wasn't doing anything that Alye was aware of, and she liked to think that her senses were rather sharp. So he must be referring to Alye's display of magic. She found it odd that he thought Alito caused the tremor. Then again, that could be one effect of his magic. After all, this Prince seemed to know the man better than Alye did. He already knew Alito's name after all. But it was something else that he said that perplexed Alye the most. He'd said that Alito was just as old as the Holy Castle itself... Alye quickly scanned Alito's face. That would explain that sensation she'd felt earlier.

There was more going on here than Alye knew about.

The white-haired woman surely did not feel like fooling around with a royal of all things right now. After all, she'd been in the company of Dragons and Gods. This man was a footnote against them. But Alye didn't want to be rude. And she also did not want Alito to get into any kind of trouble. Besides, if there were any repercussions - she'd pay for the damages.

"I apologize, Prince. That surge was my fault. Don't blame Alito, here."

She took the fault? Alito had never seen anyone defend him before. This Magi of death was used to witnessing others either cower in fear towards his presence, or scream at the top of their lungs towards him in complete anger. Never had Alito seen one be so kind as to apologize on behalf of himself, even if Alito had done nothing to cause such trouble to somebody. Clearly, there was a chance to talk to this woman, and perhaps find somebody to be a friend, for once. A friend was also something- or rather somebody- that Alito only had once before- that other friend being the prince. It was weird, in fact, how an old friend and a potentially new friend were in the same building together. It honestly made Alito chuckle a bit inside.

"Prince, as you can see now, we mean no harm." Alito concluded, "Do you hold any objections?" The prince shook his head, though there was some obvious distrust and rage mixed together in that action. Alito had a feeling there would be some bad blood today, though he hoped he wouldn't have to be the man he was destined to be, and cause mayhem upon those who looked down on him. No. He was in control. Alito could decide whether or not magic would determine one's fate, or not. Albeit, after matters were confirmed with the prince, Alito was left alone with this kind lady- or so he thought for now. "You are quite the courageous one." Alito remarked, "Normally, those of royalty will only believe what their mind tells, but you seemed to give off a convincing vibe. That aside, thank you for having my back." The more the child of Ankhseram spoke with the female, the more comfortable he felt. However, if there was one thing he was uncomfortable with, it was clarifying how he knew Alye was a magic user. He hoped she would not immediate judge him based on this, and ask if he knew any magic, himself. How horrifying it would be to let an innocent woman know that one's magic was meant for, and born from death. Wait! He did identify beforehand that he was a wizard! This discomfort slowly leaned towards regret, at this point.

"Anyways, if I recall, you said your magic can be used for both good and villainy. Was that surge an exemplar of villainy, or just a taste of what you generally can do?" It was strange how magic made Alito become so curious, despite seeing it for centuries now. Perhaps he was especially urging to hear about this due to what he could sense from it. It was pure, initially, though as the woman said, Alito could also see some darkness. If he remembered correctly too, the moment Alye spoke of villainy, this magic she possessed did not heal, but rather assaulted the castle. Was this magic tied to her emotions, maybe? Or her instincts? With Alito, it was only a matter of having a conscious mind before the darkness within him would awaken, and engulf those who he believed did wrong, according to what he had said to Anna that day.

The prince surely had backed away a few moments ago, but after allowing Alito to make a couple of statements privately with Alye, Alito turned back and noticed how more figures of royalty gathered themselves on the second floor. Just how rude were these people, trying too much to assure Alito would do nothing wrong in the establishment? What could he do wrong, anyway? Castles were inanimate, as far as Alito was aware, while if he wanted to, these figures of royalty would be lifeless in no time. On the contrary, if he did so, Alye would most likely would've been gone by then, though this was only an assumption. She had proven herself very brave during the last incident, so even if matters were to get as far out of hand as Alito had just imagined, would she still stay? Again, curiosity overwhelmed Alito, though the boy enjoyed the feeling.

Alye smiled just a tad at the Prince's obvious disdain towards the two mages in front of him. What amused her was the fact that he clearly didn't appreciate the fact that Alito wasn't the one to blame; making him look like a fool. There weren't many things that Alye liked more than embarrassing a royal. Their poker faces were never good.

"You are quite the courageous one." Alye turned back to Alito and gave him a little smile. Something she hadn't done much of lately. With so many terrible events happening this year, Alye found that she was beginning to smile less and less. Reiki had told her many times that one of the things that made him fall in love with her was her smile. She'd come here today to pay respects to him but maybe this was why she was supposed to be here today. To realize that no matter what happened in life, that she should always smile.

"Normally, those of royalty will only believe what their mind tells, but you seemed to give off a convincing vibe. That aside, thank you for having my back." Alye waved it off as she smiled just a bit more, making her sky-blue eyes sparkle a bit in the light. Oh, don't worry about it. I can be very convincing when I need to be..." To add a bit of flair to her statement, she closed her eyes for a moment. When she opened them again, her pupils were gone. They'd been replaced by a snowy incandescent light that glowed faintly. She giggled just a bit before winking at Alito and closing her eyes again to dismiss the magic.

"Anyways, if I recall, you said your magic can be used for both good and villainy. Was that surge an exemplar of villainy, or just a taste of what you generally can do?" The white-haired woman tilted her head to the side as she tried to explain her magic. "Oh, you mean my Storm Magic? With it I have complete control over every aspect of the weather as well as the elements comprised of them. I can cast low level spells or manipulate small areas without calling fully upon the magic. I only use my full power when my eyes meld over into their ethereal white state. When I was much younger I could barely control it. I could only make very small rainclouds. But as I got older and trained harder - and with the help of my...old guild - I was able to produce or project any kind of weather event at any level. Minute or otherwise." Alye lifted a hand to her face as she stared at her fingers while little jolts of blue electricity flashed back and forth from her fingertips harmlessly. "My magic is controlled by my emotions though. The more distraught or angry I get, the more likely the chance of me losing control and bringing about a natural disaster." Alye twirled her electrical fingers for a moment longer before she clenched her hand closed and let the sparks die. She smiled again. "I'm very good at staying calm though, so you don't have to worry about that."

Her smile saddened a bit as she looked towards the ground. "I used to be the Storm Goddess Slayer but my magic was stolen from me a while ago. Thankfully, the Goddess of Storms, Ororo, took pity on me and granted my original magic back upon me. It's... still not the same though." The white-haired woman dwelled on it for one more moment before dismissing the thought. "I would have to say though that I prefer wind and ice spells. I love wind spells because there is absolutely nothing like flying without wings. I'd say I like ice magic because my husband was the Prince of the Ice Dragons - the Ice Dragon Slayer." Alye put a hand on her hip, causing her feathered cloak to float about a bit. "So yes, my magic is very destructive by nature. But that doesn't mean I need to stay in that one way of thinking. What can destroy can also create. It was through training with my Storm Magic that I found I can also generate a specific kind of air that promotes rapid healing. That is why I say that magic isn't good or evil. It's neutral. However you choose to use it dictates it's alignment."

Alye was just about to ask Alito what magic he used but she too noticed how there were more royals coming around now than before. And with royalty there is always security. Alye clearly recognized the white and black robes of the Holy Calvary - the security force for the Holy Castle - marching to and fro around them. Alye was beginning to get on edge until she noticed how they were all making their way towards the opening of the church and the ground beyond. The palace shook again but it was much more forceful than before. Alye's attention snapped back to the outside. She could sense several sharp and quick changes in air pressure in the distance.

    Explosions.

    "Something's wrong."

A very convincing personality, indeed. Alito would remember what Alye said, and leave it in his mind to remember that she would indeed (or most likely) defend himself in most cases- at least in this damned, apparently "Holy Castle." While observing the female, however, Alito noticed something quite peculiar about her. The change in her eyes; what was the significance of it all? As of this instant, Alye's magic registered itself quite strangely into Alito's head. He found it remarkable to witness a wizard beyond any he had seen in centuries- the majority he had been finding too typical until this moment.

"Very fascinating..." Alito commented. As it seemed like a simple display, Alito chose not to comment any further. Frankly, the woman felt comfortable revealing all of these details to her magic in front of Alito, which the embodiment of death did not mind at all. On the contrary, as Alye spoke further about her magic, the boy became more questioning than fascinated about this "Storm Magic" she described. The name of her magic sounded merely like a natural affinity created by Mother Nature, herself, but the way Alye used her magic surely made it look as though every aspect of this magic was her own; not an innovation of something already conjured. "As long as you do not get angry with me, I will not get angry with you." Alito teased, "So, tell m--" Alito was about to add, though he sensed another story coming along, and so he ended his statement abruptly.

This new story was about Alye's past. How interesting, yet miserable it was. This old guild- was it not Eclipse Soul, if Alito could recall? Oh yes. It had been destroyed a while ago, while rumour had it that many had departed beforehand, anyway. As a boy who lacked emotional thought, Alito did not know how to respond to such an incident with words. He was a Magi of death, after all, which is an alternative of destruction, itself. This led Alito to wonder again about how Alye would feel if she were to ever find out his magic. Would she be scared? Would she find the child of Ankhseram repulsive? Curiosity was hitting new limits, yet Alito was trying to keep the same sensation under his control. Then again, Alito had forgotten about that "ethereal white state" Alye had spoken about. Was it dangerous? What if the destruction of Eclipse Soul was by means of war, and this "ethereal white state" was a partial fault for the ordeal? No, Alito could not see this lady being the result of a guild's end.

The next details drew Alito away a bit. He did not like Slayers, after all. To him, they were all too similar, while he also did not believe in such creatures giving hosts magic to surpass even themselves. Alito had sent Ankhseram away just recently, but he doubted ceasing Ankhseram of his existence would be possible. There were other omens of death, anyway, which would surely be against Alito if they were to find out that he had killed their father, as well. "I'm sure you'll come to find that this form of magic you possess will be more worthwhile than the last, Alye." Alito remarked, "It sounds more versatile from what I can hear, which can result in countless opportunities to make astonishing spells- amazing results, so to speak." The young adult hoped this would motivate Alye a bit, though once this statement came about, Alito noticed just how nice he had become throughout his short time here at the castle. Why wasn't he like the frightening person he once was in Tetsukazu? Why wasn't he his ordinary self? He looked over to Alye for a moment, dead in the eye. Perhaps her kindness meddled with his own a bit, and kept his dark side discarded momentarily so the two could get along. It was a strange aura the female possessed, though Alito rather enjoyed it.

He continued listening to Alye's story, which seemed more admirable as Alito's attentiveness grew stronger. Alye's magic had an incredible amount of history behind it, while Alito's was simply a curse since the beginning of his livelihood. It was entertaining to note how comfortable Alye felt unravelling her magic's potential to Alito, too. With so much to explain, did this mean Alye already considered Alito a friend? Or was this a common story to tell? Albeit, Alito was honoured to hear so much, but unfortunately, all good things come to an end. Irritating noises were sensed shortly after everything discussed had planted itself in Alito's mind, hopefully to be transmitted into his long-term memory. On the other hand, why was all of this irritation rising in a holy place? "Two threats detected within the Holy Castle!" A man announced, "As requested by the prince, we must eliminate the disturbances, and earn our reward!" An uproar was heard immediately after this declaration of war, soldiers rushing straight into the building, headed for Alye and Alito. But...

"What are y--" The man who made the announcement tried to say before a swift, ugly-sounding slash could be heard from a distance. The soldiers who had rushed into the building found themselves encased by fog, and soon after, vanished from the castle, itself. "The bloody mist has arrived." A demonic voice began, "Evergreen Magic, Lady of Storms: Please prepare to perish!" Dark forms of laughter could be heard just after this voice, triggering a new army of soldiers into battle. "It is time..." Alito muttered. He was confident he would surpass these filthy brawlers, but what about Alye? Only time would tell, he supposed.

    Demons.
    It had to be those.
Then again, those infernal beasts were the only ones that Alye knew of that would have the gall to attack a holy place. She'd never heard of bandits attacking a church... Even they had to fear someone. Unfortunately for the royalty, they had someone far worse than the demons to be afraid of. For Alye had heard that soldier before he was killed and she most certainly was not pleased.

Of course, when the sounds of fighting entered the halls, the royals squandered up a small regiment of guards to protect them as they fled deeper into the castle. The sunlight outside seemed to dim slightly in conjunction with the amount of unholy power that was rising to the surface. The windows inside the entrance hall - that Alye and Alito were still in - shattered as hundreds of demonic wails sounded off in the distance. Following the stained glass's destruction, a embankment of that revolting fog began spewing from the window sills and rolling onto the gleaming floors in the hall. Alye shuttered a bit at the sight of it. She knew what fog was supposed to look like and blood red certainly wasn't it. She lifted a hand into the air and conjured a swath of fresh air to blast the fog from above, dismissing it. For now, at least. In it's wake however, the marble had been stained with red blood. Alye's lip curled a bit. "Disgusting..."

Alye's senses alerted her to the fact that the demons had finally arrived. She could still hear the sounds of struggle outside as reinforcements from the sorry security force began combating the demon horde. One would think that people guarding a Holy Castle would have some degree of skill against demons but Alye couldn't see anything special from her view. Especially since it seemed that they were letting demons slip through their ranks and breach the Castle's perimeter. Alye sighed. All talk and no show.

"Alito-" Alye raised her hand towards the front doors as a electric blue magic circle bloomed from her palm and proceeded to spit forth several arcs of lightning that smacked into four demons trying to enter the hall. She didn't even have to look in their direction. The sounds of their vaporization echoed off the walls. "-I'll leave these things to you for right now. As for me..." Alye turned away, her cloak snapping in sheer command as a shiveringly cold wind swept through the place.

"I must have words with the Prince."

Creatures of the underworld commenced their seemingly long-awaited fight as they approached Alito with swift engagement, their eyes evidently filled with killing intent. Clearly, this holy establishment meant nothing to them; a typical expectation from such hellish beasts. The alert Alye had given Alito triggered his dark aura: the true presence of Ankhseram's power. Alito was still in hope that Alye would not notice the purpose of his magic, as it would most likely flip her impression of the boy upside-down; pleased to disappointed. Henceforth, Alito's own role in this ordeal began.

At first, these demons were quite simple to erase, and because they were not considered 'people', Alito's magic could literally cease them of their existence; a gift to human survival. However, with the end of some enemies rose quite a strange scene. As demons were dismissed, you see, others were in awe of their aftermath; the results of being Alito's opponent. From the looks of these matters, actually, Alito assumed these demons absurdly enjoyed seeing his magic in play. The devil that had scoped out most of the action, in fact, released a scroll which awakened a jar. "Continue using your magic, child. Kill my children." The devil remarked. How bizarre.

The beatings continued- demons losing their lives due to another's commands. Meanwhile, the jar that had been summoned collected their tainted souls. Wait, tainted? Alito had just noticed. It was now simple to see that the devil- all this time- had been interested in Alito's magic. "My children, bypass this fiend." The devil added. With his demand, the demons suddenly increased their speed wildly, and just as their lead devil said, the demons managed to run past Alito, despite him having overtaken most of the opposing population, already.

And so there it was. At least six demons were headed towards Alye, while Alito was now alone in this fight, his only remaining opponent being the leader of the group that dared to make an assault on this holy atmosphere. The jar began to glow at this point, summoning dark energy. "A fake duplicate of my magic?" Alito questioned, "Filthy spawns of the underworld. You sure will perish tonight." The child of Ankhseram's dark aura grew exponentially as the boy was now eager to rid of this new foe. It felt as though his magic had received some sort of advancement, though it was clear otherwise that Alito simply wished to claim victory over this phony. "I wonder how she's doing with the prince..." The same boy muttered.

    All around, the wind blows
We would only hold on to let go

Solid steps echoed grandly through the-now-deserted hallowed halls of the Holy Castle. To say that Alye was upset would be a very good description of the situation. Before, Alye could probably tolerate some piddly little royal trying to backstab her. But not now. Not after the year she's had. She wasn't going to kill him, but there was no way that she was going to let him get away with it. Subconsciously, Alye also knew that she needed to secure these said royals from the demons now roaming the halls they they were supposed to be protecting. She just couldn't get over how ineffective that poor excuse for a security force was. Did they honestly think that they would never be attacked?

The white-haired woman could feel the expulsions of magic going off behind her - in the direction that she'd left Alito to hold the line. She was completely confident that he could do it. While he was nice enough on the outside, his magic was immensely dark in nature. But then again, Alye was once of a team with a man that had a demon sleeping in his mind. Alye's anger subsided a bit as she thought about her old teammate, Aian. He was so kind, so forgiving...

That was why Alye decided not to judge Alito just based solely on his magic. People have no power over the cards they are dealt. Something she also learned from her old master, Zeno. Her smiled turned remorseful now. "Oh Master, I couldn't have failed you more if I tried..."

Alye kept walking until she reached a large set of metal doors. They were shut, obviously, but when Alye reached out, she didn't even feel any kind of barrier or enchantment. "By the Goddess..." Did they really think a door was going to stop a contingent of demons? Alye rolled her eyes before she melded into the winds and slipped effortlessly underneath the crack at the bottom. She reformed on the other side, slowly, so the royalty and their play guards would actually know she was coming and not get freaked out. When her body turn solid again, she stood there and crossed her arms with a scowl on her face. She was met by the sound of rapturous arguing and shouting. She had at least expected to see the entitled ones lying in the corner while the guards took point at the door but it seemed that everyone here was just arguing back and forth with one another, trying to blame it on someone.

And it would seem everyone was leaning towards the Prince.

Alye couldn't help but smirk at the irony of it. Betrayed by your so called "colleagues" while trying to be the king of a castle that you shouldn't even be in. Of course, that was the moment that the man looked up and noticed the smiling woman. What happened next was, well, even Alye had to admit that it was clever.

    "YOU!"

Alye raised an eyebrow. The Prince rose to his feet with a vengeance. He pointed to Alye and the whole room ceased at once. "You did this, didn't you!? You led these things here to slaughter us!" The Prince was walking now and the people parted like the sea in his wake. "You and Alito are here to kill us and claim this place for yourselves! You'd really kill everyone else in the process!?" Alye was quiet, just staring at the man. He was right in front of her now. "How else would the demons get in!? You summoned them with that magic earlier! I saw you! You must have cast some spell while pretending to be talking to your accomplice!" The royalty and the guards were now completely entranced in his performance. Emotion coupled with a easy scapegoat made for a good turnaround. Alye rolled her eyes again. "Please, I'd be surprised if these demons really cared about anyone by the likes of you." This silenced everyone who had begun yelling at Alye now. They couldn't believe it. She'd insulted the Prince in his own domain? Someone so "important?" The man's already flushed face burned now. Embarrassment apparently didn't suit him well. "Y-You wench! How DARE you!?" His hand rose to strike...

...Alye caught it with the tip of her index finger then grabbed his wrist with a grip of steel. "A-Ah! Let me go!" Alye's eyes turned as hard as diamonds as she stared down at the man. "You...you people make me so sick!" The air in the room suddenly began to get colder as Alye's mood darkened. She could kill him now if she wanted to. He was so close to her, she could do it however she wanted. Turn the air in his lungs into carbon dioxide, pops his lungs with air pressure, turn the water in his blood into acid, electroshock to the brain, hand right through his heart... Her rage was reaching a boiling point now. Everything over the year piled on at one time, driving Alye to the very edge. The temperature was now approaching freezing and people were huddled together, trying to keep any scrap of warmth. "Y-You're hurting me!!", the man wailed as he tried removing Alye's grip. The white-haired woman's head cocked to the side as her magic power accidentally began leaking from her body, her aura shrouding the room in white light. "Ohhh? I thought you said I was here to kill you all? Would you rather it be me, or a demon?" Alye's voice was sickeningly sweet but filled with power. She flexed her hand and the man screamed in agony as he fell to a knee. Liquid satisfaction was running through Alye's veins. This felt so good! She was in control for once! She was the once that chose the outcome now! And she chose de-

And ear-splitting scream came from across the room. Alye's attention turned to it. Two demons were looming over a group of the people, with a lowly guard holding a shaking spear out in front of him. Alye blinked as her eyes locked onto a crying little girl. W...What was she doing? Alye stepped back, her heart beating wildly as she let go of the Prince's hand. She looked around the room quickly and saw more demons melding into the room now. Had her anger led them to the room? Her voice cracked as she flexed her fingers. "N-No!" One of the already formed demons cackled as it radiated dark energy. It began reaching for the little girl, drawn to her apparently delicious screams. Alye disappeared in a burst of wind. She had to save these people! She couldn't let them die while she had the power to save them!

    She had to do something!

Loud disturbances ran through the castle as the demons that had bypassed Alito clearly caused more of a ruckus towards those of royal descent than the child of Ankhseram. Meanwhile, the leader among them all stood ahead of the boy, prepared for a fight unlike the rest; this time with a cheap replica of Alito's own magic. "Are you aware of my power?" Alito asked, "It is a curse, you know?" These two questions triggered quite a moment of laughter from the devil. Alito continued to frown upon this individual more and more, in fact, as it seemed the devil took him lightly. "This is why I have no faith in the human race." The devil remarked, "We are associates of Akuma! Our very power derives from curses, themselves! Magic does not exist where we live!" With this announcement, the devil charged, assisted by a hint of Ankhseram Black Magic.

As a user of the same magic, Alito was well-aware of both the benefits and costs. Firstly, this form of magic was god-influenced, making matters especially painful for that of opposite descent- something the devil was frankly unaware of. Secondly, death was only an aftermath of this magic. At first, it decays the essence within one's body, then proceeds to make the same vessel dysfunctional. If influenced even further, death shall await the victim. Alas, there was no chance Alito was going to allow this devil to strike him successfully- not even once. He was fast, however- that Alito could admit. "Melee." Alito declared, "While you decide to use magic, old demon, I shall simply use my hands." With this, Alito ducked immediately, evading a curved punch the devil had stored in his mental arsenal. Instantly following this, Alito laid an uppercut upon the devil's chin, which sent him sky-high, and smashed him against the ceiling of the tower. "Another weakness..." Alito mentioned suddenly, "Those of demonic origin are the lowest living form able to use my magic. To use it, in fact, you are draining your own inner strength." As soon as this statement came to an end, the devil dropped from the ceiling, and landed head-first into the ground. "Are you truly prepared for the consequences your troubles have caused, devil of Akuma." Alito questioned, "Surrender and perish, or continue and die a more miserable death. Your presence makes me sick." Alito had never been so disgusted before. The devil was using Alito's magic in such a pathetic manner, and had therefore found himself in a predicament already. The devil growled as he knew Alito spoke nothing but the truth, leaving Alito's worries specifically focused on what lied behind him; the chaos that was headed in Alye's direction.

    for you...

The demon that loomed over the little girl had no mouth yet was emitting a low, gurgling sound that sounded oddly like a stomach. A gluttony demon. The little girl backed up into her mother's slumped form. She'd passed out. Part of Alye wanted to be angry at the woman for leaving her daughter alone to face a demon, but then again, she knew that these people weren't used to this sort of thing.

The little girl stared the demon down in terror. The creature seemed to enjoy that as it's round body suddenly began to rip apart and the opening twisted into a gruesome smile. The girl's screams returned. The demon's smile grew. It's dark body coiled in tension as it prepared to strike the girl down. Her hands raised in her useless defense. The demon lunged.

The girl opened her eyes slowly. The demon was not the thing she saw in front of her. It was the cloak of the white-haired woman that had came in earlier. The girl looked over and saw the woman's hand was swathed in bright blue lightning. Normally, being this close to over a million watts of electricity should scare someone, but the girl was strangely entranced. Her terror had been replaced by calm. The sound of something collapsing followed. The girl's eyes widened as she saw half the creature fall to the ground with a diagonal slash to it's chest. It quickly dissolved into black smoke. She then noticed that the woman with lightning hands was looking at her. A cold shiver went up her spine. Was she about to die? The Prince was right, right? She was the one that had brought about these monstrosities? But...

    The woman was smiling.

"I'm sorry, little one. I won't let you be scared anymore." The little girl could only sit and watch in awe as the woman disappeared in a burst of wind and fulfilled her promise. She was like air itself. Everytime she reappeared, she brought electric death with her. The demons were cut down before they even had a chance to move. She couldn't believe someone could hold such power. As the demonic presence in the room was removed, the lights seemed to return to normal. The woman flashed into view in the middle of the room, back in front of the prince.

He looked up, shaking from fright. It was indiscernible if it was from the demons...or Alye.

She turned towards the door but looked back in his direction. "Right now, Alito - the man you accuse - is outside fighting for your sake and safety. If you ever see him again... Thank him. Cherish him. Because if you don't..."

Alye swiped at the useless door with her outstretched hand and it immediately swung open as it was hit with a strong burst of wind magic, sending sunlight glinting through the windows.

    "I'll be back."

A trickle of electricity ran over the woman's form before she disappeared again.
    ...my rain falls.

    Meanwhile...

"A-Am I...really...a disgrace...to you...?" The devil questioned Alito, the weakest, yet most intriguing laugh following this comment. What exactly was this devil on about? Out of all possible last words, these were the words the devil had to offer? Alito prepared himself to erase the entirety of this devil's existence, though as he was on the brink of doing so, an even stronger grin appeared on the devil's face. "I shall be leaving now." This demon added, "Us demons- we can only die in our homeland. However..." With the snap of the foe's fingers, a treaty of darkness formed itself in Alito's left hand. The boy stared at it in awe. This treaty offered a form of magic Alito had long-awaited, yet told no-one about. How in God's name did this little brat know what Alito desired. "Demons have desires, grant desires, seek desires, and share desires." The creature concluded, its voice suddenly as strong as one of lively essence would speak, "I know you know where the portals are. Here is a ticket to Akuma. Use it on the portals, meet my master, speak to him falsely of the tasks he had given me, and I shall reward you with the instructions to the magic of life." A chaotic burst of laughter arose as both the demon that was about to be silenced, along with the deceased vanished out of sight. Alito sighed. It appeared he used some magic to no avail. Well, he supposed he could make his personal encounter with the prince now. That was until...

In front of his eyes, Alito witnessed the most beautiful lightning; cries of fear, then cries of joy. In this setting, Alito could only assume this was the work of this lady he had met at this castle. For the first time in a while, a warm smile appeared on his lips. The enigma had never seen such power since his meeting with Aegis. Up above, Alito saw the prince behind this lightning. He could see one side of the prince's face, and it screamed in fear- perhaps he was about to cry too. "So..." Alito remarked, "Any response, prince?" As he spoke these words, he carefully, yet calmly proceeded up a stairwell- towards where Alye and the prince stood, actually. Slowly, yet with fearsome posture, Alito approached the prince, eventually staring down at him. "I have a proposition for you." Alito told the prince, "Normally, magic is prohibited in the castle, but seeing as we spared you from these foul demons, I desire two rewards from you: Firstly..." Alito removed the crown and sword of royalty from the prince, summoned a royal guard, and gave it to him. In exchange, a pass to Ald Ruhn. "You get to leave this castle. You have been dethroned." Alito concluded.

"As for the second reward...well...leave that to my friend."
