Tome Retrieval (Sukiro, Marros, and Kyo)

Walking toward the gate entrance of Era, Mari looked at the job flier she had taken from the guild hall. Looks like Athos, has had his 3 magical tomes stolen, and not only that. Two other mages from two other guilds are suppose to join her, to help in the search. Though she doesn't know exactly who they are, she's willing to work along side them. "Well I guess I should hurry up to where Athos is and see what he knows about the job." As she started to open the gate, she looked back to see if the other two were coming or soon to arrive.

Kyo stood there in the middle of Era holding to pictures of his partners for the new mission. The were only facial pictures, so he can pin point their looks. They were both blondes though one was a female and the other was male. The male had a scar over his left eye that made Kyo interested in what had happened to the man. The female was a beauty with light blue eyes and it looked like she had very long hair. As Kyo examined the pictures more, a short female with long blonde hair walked past him. The green eyed holy user quickly stopped her by grabbing her hand gently but firmly. He stood in front of her holding out the picture. "Sorry about stopping you so suddenly miss, but I was wondering..... He paused for a second looking down at the woman's bust and begin to stare. .....If this was you...." He finished in a dazed state. His eyes were focused on the objects in front of him.

Two faces. That was all he had to go on. That and the fact he knew they were of two other guilds. Fairy Tail and Lamia Scale. As he walked he glanced about looking for people that matched the description. Walking beside him was a small red lizard-like demon. He eventually spotted two people who matched the picture. One was starting at the chest of the other. A slightly perverted individual. Not that he would of done differently, but he would of made it less obvious. He walked up to the two.

"Yo. Guessing you two are Kyo and Mari?" he said and gave both of them a quick look over. The girl got a longer look, but this was less obvious. "I'm Marros and this is Gosai." he said indicating the demon. The demon looked at him.

"I can introduce myself punk." he said rudely and then looked at the two. His eyes stared at the woman's chest. "Wow babe you got huge..." Marros punched the demon on the top of his head at this point. Gosai growled at him in response.

"Don't be crude Gosai." he warned glaring at him. The demon grumbled but went quiet. "So shall we get going?"

A stranger stopped Mari by grabbing her by the hand. Turning around and looking at a man a few inches taller then she was. "Sorry about stopping you so suddenly miss, but I was wondering.....If this was you...." He said pausing a few times and holding a picture of Mari. Mari, took it and guessed that he was one of the mages that were going to help with the job. Few seconds later another man comes by, introducing himself "I'm Marros and this is Gosai." He said while pointing to a small pet of his, before hitting the one in front of Mari on the head. "Yes I'm this person. The names Mari Windsor, though you both can call me Mari if you want." She said handing the picture back to him. "Well, I was hoping that we could speak with Athos. To see which way the thieves have went." From the cracked open gate, the sound of faint foot steps and a voice came out. "Where are these dam mages, don't they know how valuable these scriptures are." The voice said. An old man slamming the gate open, came through with a surprised face, from the sight of the three. "Where have you three been! Don't you think that these thieves could have crossed the mountains already! The three went that way." He said pointing to the north. "I was told by the guards that they went in that direction and there is a cave as well. That should be your first place to check out! And don't come back until you have found something!" He screamed before reentering and closing the door behind him.

Kyo looked looked up from his partner's chest before looking over the other male present. He smirked to himself not caring for either of his partners at this point. The brunette mage listened to the old man rage about his tomes before walking off as soon as he heard the location of the thieves. "If these thieves want to steal for the rich, then I'll put them in their place. Stupid peasants stinking up the world with their smelly poorness." Kyo separated himself from the other two going in a different direction. Thinking he can get a better look from the roof, Kyo scaled the side of a building. As he reached the top he saw the cave that held the thieves, the brunette holy user grinned as he left his team behind jumping from roof top to roof top. The last building he jumped off of was twenty kilometers from the northern cave. Kyo smiled to himself and began walking towards the cave.

A cave? Interesting. Seemed a good place to hide and a good defensible point. The theives were supposedly mages and if they were skilled enough they could hold that cave easily. He didn't know what kind of mages his team were, but it seemed one preferred to go solo. "Well seems the other has buggered off by himself. Guess we should catch up gorgeous." he said with a wink and began running. Gosai chuckled at this comment and chased after Marros. Whether Mari followed was up to her.

Marros could of easily flown the distance, but he didn't see much point in wasting his magic power before he was even fighting. Plus it would mean leaving Mari behind and he didn't like leaving behind good looking women. He could carry Gosai quite easily, but he couldn't carry another person, not yet anyway. Gosai whispered in his ear as they ran.

"She's one hot bird ain't she?" Marros merely nodded in response. "Ya should try and get in her good books. Who knows what rewards you'll get" Marros merely smiled at the idea and said nothing. He knew what rewards Gosai meant and the idea appealed to him. He was a flirt by nature when it came to women and was looking for a specific one. Not one he knew who was, but one he felt he'd know when he met them. He dreamt about them often, only as a silhouette, but still. Until he found her he planned to have as much fun as possible.

Watching Athos scream toward the three. Marros and Kyo both ran off into the direction, that Athos suggested. They both were pretty far before Mari had a chance to start. Athos came by opening the gate once again. "Ah good your still here. I'd would just like to tell you to take caution, those must not be ordinary mages to break in. Well that's my good deed for the day. If you'll excuse me." He said before leaving again. Mari was a loss for words. She soon after went into a sprint trying to catch up to both Marros and Kyo. "We have to catch up, unless we want to leave everything up to Kyo." Mari said as she soon passed Marros andd his pet Gosai. Able to see the entrance from a distance she can also see Kyo walking to the cave.

Kyo arrived at the opening of the cave as a man walked out. He had fire red hair and was grinning like an idiot. Kyo scoffed looking the man up and down. "You must be one of the thieves huh? I shall remove you from this equation immediately." Kyo said said charging at the man. The brunette mage aimed a punch for the thief's chest, but he was too slow as the thief jumped back and away from the cave's entrance. Kyo gave chase to the thief throwing another punch that was skillfully blocked. The thief grinned as he matched his green eyed enemy blow for blow. Kyo swung his leg towards his opponent's side, but it was caught. He lashed out with his fist that was also caught in the other man grip. The thief flung Kyo in the direction behind him. Kyo flipped in mid air gathering magical energy in his hand. "Bow to the Goddess scum! Smite!" He said a ray of light shooting out of his palm at the thief. The red haired man counter it with a ball of fire. Landing on his feet, Kyo charged at the man attempted to rush him. The flame thief jumped out of the way grinning to himself. "Holy Restraints!" Kyo said smirking as he ran past the golden chains in his palms wrapping successfully around the flame user. Kyo swung his chains fling the thief into a tree. The flame thief broke through the tree as he hit it.

Kyo stood in the middle of a field as he noticed the thief lead him away from the cave. Cursing himself, Kyo turned to head back in the direction of the cave only to be punched in the face. The red head had landed a hit on him while he wasn't paying attention. Kyo flew at the strength of the punch and hit the ground hard sliding. As the brunette mage was getting up, he saw a large fireball heading towards him. "Cross Shield!" He said crossing his arms making a shield appear before him blocking the flame user's attack. Kyo dispelled the shield only to get punched in the stomach and a dagger attempting to stab him in the throat. The brunette mage took the hit, but grabbed the man's hand that had the dagger making the flame thief drop it. They stood there in a stalemate trying to overpower each other with raw strength.

The three of them soon arrived at the cave to see Kyo already in battle with one of the mages. A red-haired fellow. Marros did not intervene with the fight, but merely observed it. A red haired fire mage? How cliche. It seemed that Kyo was a holy magic user. Interesting. The battle went back and forth. Both seemed to gain ground and then lose it and eventually it came to a struggle of raw power between the two. Marros quickly considered the best method to proceed. He wasn't the type to ruin someone's groove so he was thinking of just leaving Kyo to it as he seemed the solo type, much like Marros himself. However, the longer they struggled the more chance of the others turning up and interfering. He looked at Gosai.

"Leave the holy mage to his fun." the demon said and began to head towards the cave. Marros shrugged. It was what he was thinking of doing anyway and besides this way he could test his strength against the other mages.

"Kyo looks like he can handle himself. The mission here is not the mages, but the books. We best get moving babe." he said and headed towards the cave jogging slightly to catch up with his partner. Gosai as a feisty demon and would likely try to fight any mages he saw himself without waiting. As Marros entered the cave he saw standing there a mage with black hair. It seemed this was to be his opponent. Gosai was already growling and began to prepare his attack. Marros pulled out his spear and too prepared for an attack.

Gosai's movement was swift and he quickly threw two fireballs that resembled musical notes at the mage. The mage was not quick enough with his defense and was hit by both sending him sliding backwards. This gave Marros an opening to try a spear strike, but the mage blocked it with a ball of dark energy which was thrown at Marros. Marros attempted to block, but wasn't quick enough and was knocked over by the blow causing him to slide backwards.


"A red head with fire magic and a black haired dude with dark magic. How cliche can you get?" he commented as the mage approached. AS the mage got closer Marros spun and managed to not only slice the mage's leg, but knock him over as well. Using this opening he tried to leap down and stab the man, but he rolled out of the way and as he got up sent a tendril of darkness at Marros' spear and tugged it out of his hand throwing it towards Gosai who it missed. Marros was unarmed, but that didn't last long as he focused and his left arm froze solid. The ice cracked instantly and broke apart revealing the left arm of ghelgath. A white arm with ice claws. Marros struck again but missed narrowly due to a small dodge by the man who went to punch him, which Marros blocked with his non demon hand. As he blocked he went to stab at the man with his claws, but again a barrier of dark energy repelled it.

Marros and Mari had caught up to Kyo but was stopped to see that he has already fought and continually fighting one of the thieves that have stolen the scribes, with his bare hands. "Leave the holy mage to his fun." The little demon Gosai said before running into the entrance of the cave followed by Marros as he said "Kyo looks like he can handle himself. The mission here is not the mages, but the books. We best get moving babe." Mari nodded still watching Kyo, before running into the cave entrance. Making it down the steps of the entrance she found Marros fighting another mage along side his pet Gosai. "Not another one." After a few clashes Mari noticed another door way. "I'm going down here to see if I can find the tomes. Good luck!" She shouted as she ran through the door and down the passage.

Finally Mari walked into a room, that was large enough to fit more then 30 people. At the end was a cloaked man, in front of the three tomes that were shining brightly. "What do you think your doing." Shouted Mari as she started to run toward the thief. The thief turned around removing the cloak hiding their face and body, revealing a female wearing mostly fishnet clothing. Mari stopped as she noticed the electricity sparks around her arms. "You want them that badly them come...and get them." Punching both of her fists together, she creates a red magic crest in front of her."Flaming Knuckles" Mari's fists then become consumed by fire. "I won't hold back!"

Mari charged forward without any restraint, catching the mage off guard, and giving her two whole fist punches that shot the mage into the wall. Falling from the wall, the mage landed on both feet, and looked toward Mari with a menacing smile. "And you said you won't hold back!" She said before shooting two lightning bolts toward mari, followed by her getting ready to punch Mari. They came at her in a instant, knocking her back, and landing on her feet, she caught both fists and tried to headbutt her but she was still dazed that she missed, releasing her grip, Mari tried punching but the two strikes missed also. The mage laughed as she blocked the next punch, by pushing it to the side. Though Mari punching her fists together created a red crest. "X-Burner!" From under her feet fire started to explode, shooting Mari toward the mage, her fist consumed by fire, she punched the mage in the face flipping her multiple times into a wall, that it created a large crack. Taking a deep breath Mari concentrated and placed both hand in front of her, a large red crest appeared. "Fire Bullet!" A large ball of fire appeared in front of her, that shot at the mage at full speed. Once making contact a large explosion occurred, pushing Mari off the ground, she fell on her back. "Finally over!" She said taking large deep breaths, while the mage unconscious in the large amount of rubble. Mari started to walk toward the the tomes that were places on the table at the end of the room. The sound of rubble could be heard from where the explosion was. Mari turned, and her eye's widened at the sight of the mage still moving. Her clothes were burnt and some skin chard. "You must think your pretty good if your getting relaxed all of a sudden. We arn't the best at we do for no reason!" She screamed.

Kyo and the thief broke apart panting some while grinning. "Your not bad, kid." The flame user said smirking. Kyo matched his smirk with one of his own. "Same to you peasant." He replied. The two got ready to engage in another battle. The flame thief flipped back firing another fireball at Kyo. The brunette jumps to the left to escape the attack. As he was dodging, the flame user came down with his foot smashing into Kyo's side slamming the holy user into the ground. Pain bloomed for the strike, the flame user enhanced his strike with his magic as he landed the hit on Kyo. The brunette ignored the pain as he kicked up from the ground doing a back flip to land on his feet. The thief jumped back to avoid the kick landing away from the other male. Kyo charged at the the man slamming his fist into the other's solar plexus knocking the breath out of him. The hit sent the man farther into the clearing as he laid there for a minute before getting up again.

The two men stood there trying to regain their breath as the air around them had gotten cold. Kyo narrowed his eye thinking it was just a strong breeze of cold air, but the flame thief's eye widen as he trembled. "Never send a thief to do a dark mage's work." A deep baritone rung through the clear as a sword pierced through the thief chest killing him. Kyo got into another defensive stance watch the "dark mage" pushed the dead body off his blade before looking at the holy user. He attack with fast movements as Kyo dodged all of the attacks and hid behind a tree. The "dark mage" looked around before shrugging. "Those two are dead. Now to kill the other four." He said taking off in the direction of the cave. Kyo's eyes widen as he cursed under his breath taking off after the man.

The dark mage had shown three skills so far. A ball of energy, a barrier and a tendril. Most D rank mages, as far as Marros was aware, were capable of at least four spells. That meant he had at least one more trick up his sleeve or was less competent than Marros thought. Still perhaps it was time to kick things up a notch.

Marros lunged suddenly going for a straight stab, but the mage blocked it with a barrier like before. Those were getting really irksome. It appeared the mage had full control over this dark magic as he changed the barrier into a blade and went to stab Marros, but missed due to a clever movement. This miss left him open and Marros grabbed hold of the arm at the elbow with his ice hand, this prolonged exposure would cause third degree frostbite by freezing it, enough to take the arm out of the equation for now. Marros went to finish off the arm entirely by letting go and attempting to strike at the frozen area, but the mage pulled back and conjured up two shadow daggers which he threw at Marros. The first missed entirely, but the second hit him in his right shoulder and a strange numbness came over it.

"Hehe your arm is useless for a bit now." he said with a grin. "And don't think you can takeover to use it because i've neutralized the magic in that arm." Marros growled and struck out with his ice claw again, but was blocked. This man was better than he had anticipated. As he was about to strike again he was distracted by the sound of approaching footsteps. The mage seemed to be distracted too because he didn't take advantage of the opening. A look of fear was on his face. Well, it was more a mix of fear and joy. An odd combination.

"Looks like there is a fourth bastard." Gosai said and prepared to defend the passage. He wanted to keep it so Marros wasn't outnumbered. It could of been Kyo approaching, but Gosai was still prepared and his preparation proved prudent as a black bolt of energy was launched at him. The blow sent him rolling back and he leapt up angrily and lunged forward magic energy pulsing in his hand. The assailant went to strike with his sword, but Gosai rolled out of the way and launched a powerful magic enfused punch to his side. "Taikyoukuken." The force of the blow sent him flying into the wall. In the distance he saw Kyo.

"Ya let this one slip past ya. Not as good as ya think are ya?" Gosai commented between pants. The Taikyokuken was powerful, his strongest attack, but it left him exhausted for a bit. "He should be pretty beaten up so i'll let you handle him."

Large noises came from the doorway . The mage started walking in the middle, and Mari started walked around to get away from the tomes, so they wouldn't get damaged. "You see, I told you we weren't going down without a fight." She Placed both hands together charging a large bolt of lightning and threw it toward the door. Crashing it above the entrance, the top came crashing down closing the entrance. "I want you all to myself!" She send with a sinister smile. "You really want to do this?" Mari asked with a serious face. "Your the one in my way and I'm in yours, We have to!" She screamed. "Lets go then." Mari answered.

Mari charged toward the Mage, and missed. Stopping herself by placing her foot out. Turning around, throwing a few punches, the mage pushing away two punches and got hit by the third in the nose. The mage released more magic, she shot three bolts of lightning, hitting hard Mari's stomach, putting her on her knees. The other two bolts flew over her. The mage ran up to mari and kicked her, mari held out her hands bloced the kick though it still pushed her onto her back.

The mage jumped on top of her "Looks who's on the bottom now!" She said, as she lifted both fists into the air. She charged her fists with lightning, slamming down on Mari, crushing the ground beneath them. Mari coughed up blood, and tried punching her two times with what strength she had left and missed. The mage jumped off and back, with Mari lifting herself up. "Glory of the slayer....Activate." Mari said under her breath. "Huh, did you say something!" The mage said taughting Mari. Mari charged toward the mage, going in to punch her. The mage blocked her punch, by the strength of it pushed her into the ground. The mages eye's widened at the change of strength. Mari quickly jumped back, punching her hands together, once she touched the ground, she charged pushing herself toward the mage. Her fist tightened, as she punched the mage back hitting against the wall. The mage coughed up blood, and Mari's power increased.

"Wow your really a monster arn't you. Can't believe you've changed so much in such a little amount of time." She said walking from the wall. Mari punched the mage again with her bare hand, pushing the mage back into the wall. And again though missing and punching into the wall. The mage shivered from how different Mari has changed. "Just you wait. My allies will be coming here any second and help me get rid of you!" The mage said, in fear.

"Gosai! Don't drop your guard!" Kyo said landing near the demon pet thing. The green eyed mage watched as the other man stood up wincing a little. The man grinned at the power of the attack. "Congrats demon. You managed to actually hurt me. But it isn't enough to stop me!" The man took off into towards the cave again. Kyo gave chase charging up his magic once more. "Goddess forgive this man for his sins." He said firing the beam at the dark mage. The man skillfully dodge keeping his pace easily. The brunette mage growled in frustration as he chased after the man. Catching up to him, Kyo threw a punch the went through the man leaving an after image of his former self. Yelling in rage, the holy user threw another punch that made the man lose his balance as he dodged once more. Seeing his chance, Kyo lashed out with leg slamming into the spot where Gosai's attack hit sending the dark mage through a wall and into another room. The green eyed male jump through the wall aiming to slam his foot into the man laying on the ground, but at the last minute the dark mage rolled to the side getting up once more. Kyo kept his focus on his target while checking out the rest of the room. He saw that Mari was in the room with him as well as the books. Kyo grinned and yelled over to his blonde haired female partner. "Mari! This man here is the head boss guy. Be careful, because after your done over there I might need your help." He chuckled afterwards thinking about asking for help from a girl.

Gosai couldn't help but let his guard down. He was exhausted from using the Taikyoukuken and would remain so for a short while. If he'd had the energy he would of ended the mage's life or attempted to. Gosai fought to kill. That was how he differed from Marros who fought to win. A fight he was trying to now.

The distraction caused by the other man had enabled Marros to get a quick strike to the man catching him in the shoulder of his other arm. The arm froze slightly, but not enough to stop it. He could see something in Marros' eyes though. A darkness that seemed to be growing. An aura was gradually forming behind him of the ice demon Ghelgath. This was not aimed as intimidation, but was merely the battle getting to Marros and causing his anger to bubble over. Anger when using a demonic takeover was not a good thing. The mage quickly focused and summoned up three more shadow blades, larger than the last and threw them at Marros, but he batted them out of the way and then with speed lunged forward striking once with his ice claw and two with his fists. The first hit struck the man, it was a killing blow, but not instant. In his death throws the man managed to conjure up some shadow magic to block the two blows, but his heart had been chilled heavily by the claws. It had frozen solid. Marros tugged out the ice claws and looked around for a likely target.

"Calm it Marros." Gosai said between pants. "Dispel the arm, its taking YOU over. You're meant to take IT over." Marros looked at the small demon for a moment and then recognition dawned and he dispelled the arm. "Good. Ya may be a dick, but I prefer you to Ghelgath. That guy was just COLD." Marros chuckled at the joke and walked over picking up his spear. He was in no rush. Surely between the two others they could take down a dark mage and another mage. However, he did start walking towards the area.

"Guard this passage and don't let anyone past. Don't want one of those theives or that other guy escaping." he said and then headed down into the passage. He stood at the wall that had been broken and peered inside. Mari was dealing with a yellow haired girl who crackled with electricity. Seriously? First a red haired guy with fire magic, then a black haired guy
who used dark magic and now a blonde girl who used electricity? What was next a blue haired woman who used water magic? This place was too full of cliches. He waited and stood there, waiting for an opening.

Mari froze with her fist in the wall and the other holding the mage against it. The mage continued to cough blood, as she looked into Mari's eye's, which looked as if they were dead. The other room started to get louder and shaked as seconds passed. The mage placed her hand onto the arm pushing her into the wall. A large crash appeared on the wall where the crushed door was. The crash was created by a man who crashed into the wall, and looked like he was tossed by Kyo who followed jumping through the hole. "Mari! This man here is the head boss guy. Be careful, because after your done over there I might need your help." He yelled toward Mari. Mari came into focus again, realizing where she was and what she was doing, as her Lineage started to fade away. The lightning mage, noticed the change in strength and pushed Mari back. Mari then noticed that marros followed behind Kyo through the hole as well. "You guys made it!" The lightning mage fell to the floor on her hands and knees catching her breath, clutching her fists, grabbing dust in her hands, she stood up. "Don't forget about me."

The lightning mage charged toward Mari clutching her fist and tried to punch her. Mari slapped her fist away, making the mage wobble a bit, before trying again. though this time she was still hurt from Mari strength in her lineage that she fell onto her back, when she tried to punch. Mari charged toward the mage who was picking herself up. Mari punched the mage clear in the face, before releasing a barrage of punches, that she had trouble blocking but succeeded with each one, though with doing that she tired herself out, falling back unconscious. Followed with Mari falling on her knees, catching her breath. "Finally, she's tired out!" She said looking toward the other guys.
