Tome Retrieval (Sukiro, Marros, and Kyo)

Kyo grinned as he looked at the man again. The chased let Kyo heal himself and now he was good to go. The brunette constricted magic energy into his right palm. "I'll trap you and punishment will be given." He said as golden chains shout out of his hand. The dark mage dodged the chains grinning as Kyo pulled that chains back though it missed again. The brunette holy mage charged fukll force at the man pulling back his fist to punch him, but it was caught in a tight grip. Kyo brought his knee up only to get flung away from the man. Flipping in mid-air, the green eyed male filled his mouth with venom before spitting it out. The ice mage counter by freezing the venom all together before taking off towards the books again. Kyo landed breathing heavily from using his lineage. "Marros..... He's heading your way!"

Marros nodded. If it was a contest of speed he would not be outclassed. He would of used one of his takeovers, but sadly it was only useful on straight lines and this guy seemed too good at dodging for that. Ghelgath would not be usable for a while and Ifrit was too slow. His remaining two takeovers were both useful, but not for this situation. It looked like he'd have to rely on skill and skill alone. He charged in swiftly with a fast stab, but the man simply bent, no, he flowed out of the way as if it was a dance. The same for the second attack which was a round strike with the shaft. He leapt over it with grace and ease. He was getting closer and closer to the books. Marros's third strike however was accurate and stabbed the man in the leg with force causing him to trip and fall. His movement was erratic though and the next two jabs missed entirely. The final of his attacks was blocked with a barrier of black ice.

"Enough." The man said and suddenly Marros was hit from behind in the shoulder by an icicle that looked identical in shape to his spear. "I will not be stopped." The black icicle for some reason had paralysed his arm. He couldn't move it at all.

"Mari. Finish him." Marros said hating to rely on a woman. He had wanted to prove himself and get some hem hem 'rewards' out of it. However, it seemed that was not to be. The man limped towards the books. He seemed to be ignoring the others again as if the books were his only problem.

Mari watched as the last mage was very agile and quick being able to dodge all of Kyo's and Marros attacks. He was very persistent to be going for those tomes. "Mari. Finish him!" Marros shouted toward Mari. She started to get up, off her knees and looked toward the mage. The mage didn't care for Mari and continued to go after the tomes.

Charging after him Mari shouted "Stop, we won't allow you to take them!" She slide in front of him. Stopping herself with her foot and attacked with the other by spinning it around. He lifted his hand grabbing hold of her leg. She used is grip to lift herself, attacking with the other foot. Pounding his face to the side he fell on his shoulder. Mari jumped on top of him, trying to knock him out. Going for his face with a left hook. He blocked it with his right arm, though it hurt so much that it flew back on contact. Mari's next punched missed and punching the ground hurt her own hand, from being in a weakened state. "Someone help me!" She asked shouting.

Kyo took the dark mage's distraction as a way to get closer to the books. The brunette male reached out to grab them before he heard a call for help. Looking back, Kyo saw Mari reaching out. The holy user sighing to himself thinking it would look bad if he let one of his partners die. Kyo turned on his heel going back to the dark mage. He ran towards the man ready to punch him only to have it dodged once more. The dark mage sighed and pulled out his blade slashing at Kyo. The brunette leaned back so the blade went over him. The man grinned as he hit Kyo in the stomach with pure dark energy. This attack made the holy user freeze in stop then drop to the ground convulsing.

The man managed to get the books, but Marros had one last trick up his sleeve. With both of his arms temporarily disabled he only had two options and only one of them seemed versatile enough for this situation. He activated his wing takeover gaining black bat-like wings and flew headfirst straight at the man aiming to headbutt him hard enough to finish him off. The mage was so focused on picking up the books without damaging them that he didn't have time to react to Marros who hit him full force in the back with a headbutt. The force was enough to make the mage drop the books back onto the table and scream in pain. But Marros wasn't done there. No he quickly flew back a bit and launched a powerful roundhouse kick to the man's head sending him flying into a wall. "Never underestimate a mage." he said smugly. He had no use of his arms and he'd still saved the books.

It was just as Marros was about to kick that Gosai joined the fray. He threw a fireball at the mage's injured leg, but missed due to the man being knocked out of the way by the kick from Marros. Gosai growled and charged over to the man who was struggling to get up and used his most powerful attack on the man's head slamming it into a rock. "Taikyoukuken" The force from the punch combined with the impact was enough to kill the man. He would not be a hassle anymore. Gosai however could not move again. He was exhausted once more. Marros's arms however had now recovered. It seemed the paralysis on the first had worn off and on the second it had faded when the mage died. He landed and deactivated his wings before walking over to the dead body.

"Only the strong survive.". With that he picked up the demon and smiled at him. "Good job Gosai." he headed over to his spear and strapped it back to his back before turning to the exhausted party. He too was quite exhausted, but was trying his best not to show it.

"Who wants to carry the books?"

Mari lifted herself off the ground, she can feel the sore parts of her body all at once. It's been one of her hardest battles, she has ever fought and thought it was going to be easier, thought they showed that they weren't to be messed with. Mari started to walk over to Marros, taking one of the books in her hands. "I take one of those. Wouldn't want you to take all the credit." She said with a smile. She started to walk toward the hole in the wall. "Let's start heading back to Era, so we can finish this job!" She shouted, pressing the tome to her chest and exiting the room, heading back to Era.

Kyo laid on the ground for a few more minutes so he can heal himself. Getting up, the brunette held onto his stomach as it still hurt badly. The holy user walked over to his partner frowning deeply before grabbing one of the books. He said nothing as he walked over to the hole and stepped through it. The green eyed male didn't really care anymore now that the books were retrieved. He just wanted to get out of there and back to his guild.

The final book was carried by Marros. He carried it back walking with the others in near silence. All of them were exhausted. When they arrived at Athos' home he kicked at the door and was greeted with, at first an angry looking Athos. However, once he saw they had the books he leapt for joy and began wooting. There was no other word for it. After a few minutes of this he snatched the books away and went inside sealing them away once more. He came out and handed them each of their money and slammed the door. Marros looked at the two.

"Let's head on back home I guess." he said with a shrug. "See ya." With that he headed off towards his guild.
