Rumors: A Magic Council Investigation

"I can't believe I did not connect the dots earlier. Reports came in about a raid on Blue Pegasus warehouses. Many were killed. It was quite disturbing. It is clear that this is no coincidence. I believe that is where we should start." said Slaine.

What Slaine had just said deeply bothered Hirana. The fact that the dark mages were foolish enough to attack a legal guild meant that they had a backup plan, or they were overly confident. Either way, she felt that it had to be dealt with in a quick and swift manner.

"Alleria, I'm going to meet up with Slaine right now. Catch up when you feel like it but don't take too long okay?" said Hirana as she walked towards the portal. As Slaine had said, This was no ordinary foolish act of Dark Mage terrorism. Something sinister was unfolding, a dark presence had loomed upon the world. Hirana was sure that the other council members felt it as well. Gripping the through anxiously in her head, she stepped onto the portal and waved to Alleria as the portal teleported her away.

Alone again. She sat back down on her chair as she took the flask of ale in her hand. Judging from the weight, it was half empty by now. She drew the flask closer to her lips and took a sip. The portal can wait, her nerves cants. She wracked her brain for answers, answers that elude her, that tease and mock her.

"But you already know the answer." came the soft voice.

"Leave me alone. I wont accept that. I never will!" she shouted at the empty room.

As if waking from a bad dream, she gathered her wits, took one last sip of the calming spirit and marched towards the portal.

"Lets hope I am wrong." were her last words before her body was engulfed by the light of the portal.

There was a bright flash and Slaine stepped out of the portal at the Mysterious Canyon. Wind immediately caught his hair and he raised an eyebrow. It was awfully chilly.

He continued to walk for a bit until he realized it would be better to wait for the ladies. In the distance, he could see the Blue Pegasus warehouses. The place seemed dead quiet. Literally.

With a sigh he waited and observed the landscape.
