Pherin is a friendly character who supports those that fight alongside him with all his might. Usually Pherin is a friendly young man, caring for others and loving towards all. There is just one small catch to his person: his love for nature… He does see how that human’s ravaging of its surroundings is a natural thing – a species trying to survive in a harsh world – but unnecessary destruction of nature… that is something he will not forgive. The young man was born and raised to respect his surroundings and not to become a parasite feeding off of the world, but instead to become a symbiotic being coexisting with nature. Pherin is saddened at the sight of destroyed nature and even more so if it was unnecessary. Nature is what he respects and cares for most and thus will do anything, even become seen as an evil-doer to protect it.
His love for nature doesn’t mean that he despises humanity for ravaging its beauty... or at least not in the traditional sense. As mentioned before Pherin acknowledges the circle of life and the fight for survival, but his true goal is to have humanity see how precious nature really is and to teach them not to liv off it, but to live with it as he has for so many years. On second thought he might feel some spite towards humans for their deeds, but he also admires them for their ingenuity, intellect, wisdom (of some) and their potential to do and become so much more.
But away from his bond towards nature and towards his personality. In general, as said before, Pherin is a kind person. He supports those in need ad he feels that all are entitled to the same level of kindness; no matter if they are good or bad, he will help if they aided him or if they share the same love for nature… but those aren’t the only conditions, those who have done either of the two are on his “priority list” – help is something everyone gets from him as long as they aren’t opponents. But after battle when fighting has ceased Pherin will help any and all back onto their feet so long as it is possible.
Friendly, loving and understanding are all words often used to describe Pherin. If not in conflict he regards all as part of nature and adores all equally, supporting them whenever he can. No one has ever seen him truly be in a negative mood other than those who have felt his wrath; an everlasting look of contempt, peace and utter harmony on his face. His great understanding of the way nature works, which was obtained over many years, and his understanding of human behavior combined with his vast knowledge in most fields including magic give him the ability to see things less subjectively and to mostly judge objectively; his love for nature being the only hindrance for him to become completely objective.
Otherwise Pherin is a peace-loving person. His greatest secret desire is to be a father to a daughter or two – whether he would find a suitable partner is of less importance to him, he just wishes to raise a child. You could say that Pherin’s personality is already quite fatherly as he does thing in the best interest for all parties and tries to understand one’s circumstances. It’s also impossible to lie to him as his many years of life have forged him into a walking talking lie-detector. Try telling him any lie with any amount of falsified evidence… there is no way too fool him; the greater of a charade you pull off, the easier you become for him to see through. Honorable, reliable and considerate are further words many use to describe him. Always keeping his word and considerate of others interest and thoughts these words are more than accurate. Bluntly put: he is a leader. Pherin will take charge of any group as long as they give their consent. He tries to work with what he has and tries gaining the maximum potential from what is available. Strength and power mean nothing to him; heart and will is what he finds most admirable… though a bit of power wouldn’t hurt.

Often he utilizes his vast knowledge of natural substances and species to his advantage such as poisonous plants and/or animals; this allows him to save his magic for when it is truly necessary. This leads us to his style of fighting: Although he adores magic, Pherin tries to avoid its usage when possible in combat, preferably using his skill with a staff. It is another one of his beliefs that magic should not be used to harm others as this would poison the essence and meaning of magic itself.
Likes:
Nature because he was raised to respect it and to treasure it. To Pherin nature is the most miraculous thing in the world, a force so grand that no creature can control it yet small enough to understand.
Wyverns because these are truly majestic creatures. Sure they may be violent, but only because they are predators and wish to protect themselves, their young or their territory. Whenever Pherin sees one soaring through the sky, he is immediately mesmerized by the powerful, large and majestic creature.
Humans because he admires hat they are capable of. He sees how much potential they have, how they have the ability to do and become anything.
The night sky, because it is a sight of pure beauty to Pherin. The way the stars and the moon shine in the darkness that is called night, how they seem so calm and harmonious, whilst seeming so majestic. The elements in the sky so distant - too distant to touch - but close enough to draw on their power and to awe at their beauty.
Dislikes:
Humans because they are volatile creatures. Nature may have made all living things aggressive to some extent, but with good reason. Humans however misuse the intellect they are given and harm without reason, destroy without justification and ravage without remorse
Destruction of Nature, because of the way he was raised. A scene of destroyed forests, polluted water or slaughtered animals all sadden him to a greatly. This sadness in turn turns into hate and spite for those whom caused it without appropriate reason.
Clothes made from animal skin because Pherin adores animals of all kind, mostly because of his love for nature. Especially when someone wears clothing or armor made from wyverns, wolves or foxes (his favorite animals) a fury of indescribable immensity consumes him; not even his rational mind can calm him.
Motivations:
His greatest motivation in life is to have humanity see the true value of nature and stop the ravaging of it. He wishes for humanity to coexist in a symbiosis with nature and see the true value of the world they live in. Nature should be respected and honored and not enslaved and disgraced – that is what he wishes to teach. To uphold the balance in the world, to uphold the balance of the natural cycle this is his ultimate aim.
Next to protecting nature Pherin wishes to abolish the abuse of magic. He sees no problem with using it on a daily basis for conventional things, but he finds it appalling to use in combat. A hypocrite is what he seems like being a legal mage and all, but his preference to battle using only or mostly physical skill supports his position and just keeps him from being a hypocrite. Why is he against using magic for combat? Because magic is a near sacred force that allows the unimaginable. Humanity must learn to work responsibly with it, not use it for meaningless thing such as combat.
His third aspiration is rather miniscule: to have a family of his own. Living for 165 years has made him somewhat lonely and now he wishes to settle down after his curse of immortality has been broken. Actually, his real desire is to father or at least raise a child or two, preferably a daughter or two. Children – that’s his priority. Finding a suitable mate/partner comes second. Yes, he wants to meet his true love but being a father would mean more to him thatn being a loving husband/lover.
Fears:
Only one thing does Pherin fear and that is the destruction of nature and the disruption of the natural balance. He fears that either humanity or another sentient race will claim ultimate dominance and force all other living things out of existence. If this were to happen not only would the natural cycle be broken but it would also ultimately result in the annihilation of ALL living things. As all other forms of life is squeezed out of existence by the dominant species, the dominant ones would have no predators nor would they have prey… and thus they become their own natural enemies and annihilate themselves, therefor erasing the last spark of life left. Of course this is an extreme, but never the less it is what Pherin sees to most likely happen.
Typically like most good-willed characters he fears the loss of the ones he cares for. Though he has not had parents so to speak, he has had very close friends that he wouldn’t want to have disappear from his life. These friends were like parents to him.
Pherin also sees it very likely that magic may vanish from the world someday because of abuse. No one can really define magic but as a form of energy which allows humans and other creatures to do incredulous things. But what if magic is a living force? What if magic is energy with its own conscience and more knowledge than anything or anyone has ever accumulated? What if human abuse would upset that power and force it to leave or even turn on us? These questions plague Pherin’s mind and are also the main reason why he tries not to use magic for immoral purposes.

… he seems like a decent, respectable and kind soul, almost looking like a nobleman but being anything but that. The aura he gives off gives most a feeling of protection, security, sanctuary and makes him fell trustworthy and gentle – which f course he is.
