- Job Title: The Hunt
Rank: D
Player Requirements: D-Ranked wizard or equivalent. 2 mages maximum.
Job Requirements: Thread must be at least 25 posts long. 250 words per post. Must bring back at least 30 carcasses.
Job Location: Earthland(Iceberg), Frostfire Village
Job Description: Villages in Iceberg are always rationing what little food they have to the denizens of said village. Unfortunately, even when they do this, they come up short. Frostfire is one of those villages and have put up an international job for everyone to see if anyone could come and help them hunt down what little animals call the snow covered grass around their village home. The village elder will be your client for this job and can be found in the largest hut sitting at a fire pit right in the middle of the "building". Should you succeed in your endeavors to bring the village food, you will be invited to their feast and gain the trust of multiple villages throughout Iceberg. To get to Frostfire Village, you will either have to pass through the beautiful, lush landscapes of Seven, who will gladly let you through, or you can sail.
Once inside the village, you will be treated poorly, as an outsider. They have limited resources as it is, another person or more people will only cause them to think that you will try to take from them. Of course, the elder will greet you and inform the village that you are here to help and are to be trusted. Once you mention the job and how you or your group of two will take it up, the elder will thank you and give you or each of you a thick, brown hooded jacket made from bear fur as well as gloves and boots. As the temperature in Iceberg is colder than in any other nation, it's *very* easy to get and die from frostbite if not protected. This is a sort of investment for you to go out and do the best hunting job that you can. She will also ask that you not draw out the death of the animals you find, as it is more humane and to their traditions that you end the life of the creature quickly so it doesn't have to suffer.
The village is also sending out their other hunters, so don't be surprised if you see someone taking your latest kill. Good luck and happy hunting.
Enemies:
Weak: Snow Rabbit - These white furred creatures can be hard to spot as they blend in with the scenery, but won't put up much of a fight if caught.
Normal: Snow Fox x3 - Also difficult to spot; these animals travel in packs and can be vicious if not dealt with quickly and severely. They will strike by jumping, clawing, and biting you with no mercy. It's you or them. (Count as 3 carcasses)
Strong: Snow Bear - These bears don't mess around; weighing in at 600 pounds, their claw swipe is enough to take your head off. As a scare tactic, they will roar and get back on their hind legs. These particular bears have even mastered very basic ice magic, being able to cast tiny projectiles such as icicles if they are at a range. (Count as 5 carcasses)
Boss: HyVulcan - The HyVulcan are a particular species of Vulcan that are native to these cold areas. Their furs are much thicker, they are much stronger and faster than the ones found in Fiore, and they have mastered ice magic of intermediate difficulty. In other words, they can cast C-Ranked ice magic, such as a speeding ball of ice or a rain of hail onto you and your ally. It's going to take quite a bit to take them down. (Count as 10 carcasses)
Reward:2,000 jewels. Trust in villages throughout Iceberg. Nifty new jacket.
It was close to mid-day. The sun had been beating down upon the wizards as they made their way to where the job request came from. It was warm and welcoming, just like he liked it. Gamon was very excited that an international job came in to the guild hall; of course, he jumped at the opportunity to finally be able and have a reason to leave Fiore. He had only recently acquired a passport, and have been chomping at the bit to use it. When the job request came in, and he realized that it was out of the country, he snatched it up as fast as he possibly could.
Gamon and his fellow Fairy Tail wizard, Sorano, were walking through the woods of the extremely beautiful country of Seven. He had never, within his 16 years, left Fiore. Being out of the country had him full of energy. They have been walking for a few days now, and Gamon still had the energy to climb trees and even energy to climb straight cliffs, just to get the best view that he possibly could. Tykva, on the other hand, was completely tired of his expendable energy.
The first village they came upon, Seven, was bustling with people. The dirt streets didn't feel quite like home, but they surely were beautiful. The buildings were comprised of a perfect combination of driftwood and coral, overlayed by tall trees that provided a soft blanket of shade. The atmosphere was so much different than that of Magnolia; Perhaps it was just Gamon’s mind playing tricks on him. As he stared into the crowd before him, the difference dawned upon him. They were not all human, and no one seemed to drawing attention to the fact.
He stopped suddenly by a large pen. His mind was buzzing with questions. Did they really cage animals in this place? Gamon was awestruck when he finally saw the first (by his standards) creatures that the pen held. They was beautiful, unlike anything he’d ever seen. The animal itself was large and horned, with an electric and colorful ever-changing pattern. From his understanding, it was called a ‘rhino.’ He stood wide-eyed for a few moments before motioning his fellow guild mate over and pointing to the large sign behind them. “You can ride them. We definitely should.”
