The Iron Dragon vs The Soul Keeper

Tap Tap Tap, went Tanik's boots as he walked into the huge arena where he would participate in his next duel. Tanik was still in a bit ashamed of his previous weapon duel when he got absolutely destroyed by the demon slayer, Kiku. The lacrima in Tanik's stomach pulsed with power as he walked up the steps into the arena. Tanik may have lost his last duel, but that was before he became a dragon slayer. Now he had the power to stand a chance at winning. This was a good opportunity to see how much power he had gained. But Tanik's last fight had taught him not too get to overconfident about his duels. Although that was pretty difficult with how powerful he felt.

Tanik entered the arena and immediately liked was he saw. The arena was modeled to look like an underground cavern made of stone.... and iron. While the majority of the cavern was stone, there were pockets of refined iron all over. And the support columns that were all around the place, between the floor and the ceiling, were made of iron as well.

Tanik concluded taking in his surroundings and began to wait for his opponent to arrive on the other side of the arena.

After hearing that there was a tournament going on in the area, he thought long and hard about participating in the event. Obviously he chose to do so, but he was struck with a bit of shame upon thinking of how his parents would react...especially his father. It was strongly discouraged in his clan to fight without reason, but this time Nazaki Hanumaru would be manipulating the rules. His reason was to prove his strength. With his sword sheathed on his waist he slowly walked up the stairs leading to the arena. Interesting, it was rather dark but nothing that he could not handle. The crowd seemed to be cheering even before he could reveal himself, but upon showing them who he was the cheers grew even louder. They were most likely just excited that the opponent arrived, though Zaki couldn't blame them. He was quite excited himself. Glaring forward, only 20 meters away he could see his opponent. Honestly, he looked tough, but Nazaki wasn't expecting an easy fight afterall. Cracking his knuckles the proctor scanned both mages and only 30 seconds went by before he slammed the stick onto the metal circle, creating a loud noise to indicate that the fight may begin. By then his hand had already been placed on the hilt of his sword, remaining still but ready to strike. "Good Luck." The soul mage kept a nonchalant expression...he was ready to win.

Tanik stood at the arena entrance for a moment in order to size up his opponent. The crowd became silent as the fight had begun. His opponent was a muscular man with bright red hair. Tanik could not sense a specific elemental proficiency from the man, but he did sense an intimidating power. The man wished Tanik luck. Tanik replied with, "Too you as well" Tanik then whispered under his breath, "but i won't need it."

The arena seemed to give Tanik a distinct advantage in this fight, as there was iron litered around the place and he WAS the Iron Dragon Slayer. But he would save it for when he needed it. For now he considered his options. he could go for an attack from the get go, but he had no idea what his opponent was capable of. And the fact he couldn't sense any element from his opponent worried him a bit. He could simply attack from a distance, but that didnt seem to be the way to go either. Since his opponent will most likely be able to dodge any attacks at this range.

Taking all of these factors into consideration, Tanik decided the best move would simply to to let his opponent make the first move instead. It would allow Tanik a chance to see what type of magic his opponent used and think of the best way to counter it. Tanik took a defensive stance, stayed light on his feet just in case he had to make a quick dodge, and waited.

Seeing as the man before him hadn't took the offensive side of battle, Nazaki immediately began to move towards him at a speed of eight meters per second. Nazaki was going to end this pretty quick, he wanted to move on the the next round, level, or get his prize- whichever came next. The scarlet haired mage was molded and shaped specifically for battle and therefore he could not lose. If his father had found out that he disobeyed the laws of the Hanumaru clan and lost at that he would probably never forgive him and Naz did not need any more drama in his life at the moment. Many wouldn't just barge into a fight like Nazaki was doing, but there weren't many like him anyway. He knew that he could easily counter any attack that was thrown at him if things escelated to that point, so there wasn't much to worry about. As soon as the young man moved the crowd erupted into a loud cheering once more, but even their obnoxious voices were not enough to simply distract a mage of his caliber. An expression of annoyance --which some may have interpreted as anger-- snatched his face and as he quickly made his way towards his opponent he focused on his every move so that he would be ready to adjust at any moment. Given the distance, Nazaki would reach his opponent in only a little over 2 seconds. The crowd went silent again and immediately upon approaching his opponent as such high speeds Nazaki would throw a simple forward kick. If he somehow missed, then then he would use his plan, if not, then he would move to plan B. His hand remained on the hilt of his sword just in case, needless to say; the battle was on, and it may just end before it could begin. "Don't need your luck"

Tanik stood there, waiting on the scarlet haired mage to make the first move. When he finally did, he charged at Tanik with incredibly fast speed. Tanik had him right where he wanted him. The red haired mage was closing in at about 8 meters per second, and his eyes showed that he was ready for this fight. Time seemed to almost slow down as tanik thought of his options for a possible counter attack, and there were many, MANY, options. His increased speed and agility as a slayer gave him the upper hand here. Tanik acted quickly just as his opponent had. He yelled, "Tetsuryu no Goken!" and immediately launched himself directly at the charging scarlet haired mage. Tanik was traveling at about 7 m/s. The scarlet haired mage was running at Tanik at about 8 m/s. He had almost no time to react to Tanik's attack. If Tanik's attack landed, the scarlet haired mage would be knocked back into the arena wall, or atleast close to it. If the attack somehow misses, Tanik will kick out from his mid air position to attempt to hit the mage and knock him back slightly.

Tanik has no intention of losing. Not this time. not after what happened in his fight with Kiku. And this time Tanik will fight to the bitter end. He will not surrender no matter what happens.The Scarlett Haired mage certainly seemed like a worthy opponent, but it was too early in the fight to really tell for sure.

So it seemed that at the same moment Nazaki dashed, so did his opponent, fair enough. Even at the incredible speed, Nazaki seemed to not have been able to pull off a proper attack. He arched his eyebrows and fixed his lips as he quickly thought. He had many options, but only one would actually quicken the fight. Immediately he focused on the soul energy in his bpdy so now his physical form would become ethereal. He literally became a soul. The man threw an attack just before the soul transition finished and Nazaki was able to completely void it. He phased through the man and instantly swung his blade marked with a symbol of one of his spells. Swinging the blade after phasing through the man would put him directly behind him while doing so and considering his blade had a whip like form, there was almost no way he could dodge--not at such a distance anyway and especially not at the speed everything happened in. Hell, even if he managed to leap back a few feet he would not be quick enough to dodge. Nazaki was done playing games, it was bad enough he even allowed the boy to use a spell and nearly take his arm off. Now he was really mad. Truthfully, Zaki couldn't remember the last time he became this irritated, but he knew that it was much too long ago. The whole time he threw attacks and used different spells, the only person he could hear speaking to him was his father. He knew he couldn't prolong this fight, or things would be harder for both of the mages.

Unique Abilities:
Phantom Attack: Due to the sheer destructive force of Nazaki Hanumaru, even when the attack (despite the type of attack) misses, anything within 5 meters of the attack takes 50% of the rank damage. As rank increases, the range also increases by 2 meters.

Soul Transition: This is a hidden ability that all Hanumaru clan members are capable of. When this ability is activated, the user literally becomes a soul, making himself a ghost like being (including clothing, etc...) for a specified amount of posts, allowing anything of one rank higher or any rank below that to phase through him . While in this form, the user CANNOT use any defensive spell, and their movement speed is decreased by 25%. With each rank, the duration increases by one and the cool down increases by one.

Soul Sense: All Hanumaru clan members can sense people within a 15 foot radius of him/herself. Thanks to being able to sense souls, this ability gives them a 25% increase to reflexes while increasing the percentage by 10 with each rank.

Tanik launched himself at Nazaki, hoping that he would catch him off guard for a quick surprise strike on him as Nazaki was also charging at him. But it was to no avail, as his reaction time was quick enough to cast some kind of spell that forced Tanik to phase through him almost as if he was a ghost. Tanik phased through him so he was behind him now. Nazaki's sword flew out like a whip and lashed Tanik's arm as he brought it up reflexively. Tanik landed on the ground and quickly regained his balance while planning out what his next move would be. His arm was stinging intensely, and blood was slowly being drawn from the wound, but Tanik brushed it aside for the time being. He quickly came to a decision and cast Tetsuryu no Uroko, in order to mitigate further damage for a time. The spell covered Tanik's skin in Iron Dragon scales.

Wasting to time, Tanik backed up quickly from Nazaki, to stay out of range of his whip-like sword. Tanik also quickly chomped a bit of iron from a nearby support column to regen a bit of magic power. Finally, Tanik cast Tetsuryuken on his right arm, causing a giant, 6 meter long, Iron sword to appear in the place of his elbow up on his arm. He would use this sword to try to keep Nazaki at a distance from him while he was in this Phantom-like form. Tanik swung the giant sword from as far as he could be towards Nazaki, hoping to tag him with it. despite the swords massive length, Tanik was deceptively quick to swing it. Hopefully this would catch Nazaki off guard as he would probably expect a slow swing.

Nazaki was satisfied. His hit landed right on target and seemed to have caused some damage. Nazaki immediately turned to see his enemy who had finally been standing up now, his arm dripping in blood. Zaki faced him and waited to see what he would do next as scales began to take over his body. There was no way he'd allow such a thing to get by. Quickly Nazaki dashed towards hj opponent who just as quickly moved back a few meters to distance himself, but considering the two were only 5 meters apart, Nazaki was able to reach him quite fast whilst firing two differrnt spells. These spells would shatter the scales just as the enemy so stupidly decided to...eat the iron? "A metal slayer..." Just before the dark haired male could do anything and right after he placed the iron in his mouth, Nazaki swiftly brought his blade diagonally upward to slash his enemy across the chest, and proceeding to do so again- this time downward for an almost instant effect. When the two speedy techniques were done, Zenmedi would undoubtly be sent back a few meters by the attack. "Hmph." Fighting members of his clan seemed to be far more entertaining that whatever this was called. Honestly, if this is all mages had to offer than their training methods needed to change immediately because whatever it was that they were doing wasn't helping them at all. There were so many stronger mages in Infinity Hydra, mages that could end Naz in one attack if they had to so he had to fight with his all.

Drip Drip Drip, was the sound of the blood dripping from the gash in Tanik's arm. Tanik was in a bit of shock. 'Was he going to lose again?' He thought. Tanik quickly attempted to cover his body in Iron scales to mitigate any further damage from the scarlet haired mage. Tanik began to do so when, "!!!", all of a sudden Nazaki dashed forward with two lightning fast spells that quickly shattered the scales Tanik had just conjured. Instinctively Tanik leaped back. His body had naturally used iron to patch up the wound atleast temporarily and stop the bleeding. Tanik took a bit out of a nearby support column to regain some magic power. but just as he took a bite, Nazaki was on him with a sword swing that slashed across his chest. He was about to go for another swing when the slayer reacted. He quickly conjured his right arm into an iron sword before Nazaki managed a second swing. Just barely blocking the slash. Tanik would then leap back about 7 meters from Nazaki, standing in a defensive stance where he could use his sword to block any physical attack towards him. If Nazaki tried a magical attack, Tanik would simply leap out of the way and attempt a swing with his iron sword.

If Tanik was fated to lose this fight, he would atleast leave a few scars on this guy. Just as he had left scars on him. He didnt even really care about the outcome of the match at this point.

Nazaki grinned as his spells actually connected followed by his display of attacks which also connected, but the second strike was still not quick enough to harm his opponent, yet he enjoyed the fight. As his enemy had just begun to leap back, Nazaki would immediately dash forward simultaneously jabbing with his sword forward whilst activating it's second form. The blade moved at speeds equivilent to his own and at the same time morphed into a giant beautiful serpent like beast. Before Zen could even reach the full distance of 7 meters and while his feet was lifted from the ground mid-leap, Nazakis giant serpent would reach him. Seeing as Zen was only able to move back 3 meters and Zaki had been coming towards him, and he was mid-leap, his only option would to be block. Whether that meant turn into a puddle of water, use that scale thingy, or the sword in his hand. If the blade did connect with the iron slayers blade, it would cause it to break, and fire straight through to attack the opponent. If Nazaki was to ever use this form on his opponent they should be proud. It meant that Nazaki acknowledged their fighting spirit. Should the slayer get hit it wpuld send him back and hopefully be game. He never underestimated his opponent though. Just by being next to this dude he could tell that he was just as strong as himself, but he lacked fighting skills. Power wasn't everything and his opponent may have been caught off guard throughout this whole fight. In facg, he may have underestimated Nazaki. Mistakes happen though and if this man wanted a rematch sometime Nazakk would be happy to participate.

The fight continued as Tanik barely managed to block a quick sword strike from Nazaki with his own sword. Thinking what his next move would be after being forced on the defensive, Tanik leaped back. Only to be assaulted by a sword turned cobra. Tanik reacted almost instantly as the snake attacked him mid-leap. Defending with his sword would have been a bad move since it was already damaged, it would have broken completely. And it had been to soon since the last time he used his Iron Dragon Scales to use them again. Instead of any of these options he used his arguably most powerful spell, Iron Dragon Roar. Tanik opened his mouth and a swirling spiral of metal shrapnel came out in a cylinder shape. The roar, if it connects, would knock back the snake, preventing to from hitting Tanik, and since Nazaki was behind his snake like sword, it would also hit him. The attack travels very quickly and from this range, it would require an almost inhuman speed to dodge it. Although some kind of defensive spell would be able to potentially stop it.

Nazaki proved to be a much more powerful opponent then Tanik had anticipated. If this fight didn't turn around in Tanik's favor soon he would be going back to the guild hall in shame once again. He would do anything in his power to prevent that from happening a second time. It was too painful of an experience. More painful than any physical scar he can carry.

A smile was evident on his mouthbas his wrapon had been working in his favor. The beast like sword madenits way towards its opponent and just when he was about to devour the male, Nazaki noticed the enemy taking a big breath. Immediately he let go of his blade and morphed into angiant vulcan. One with large teeth and dramatic muscles. Just as he let the weapon go, the attacknreleased from the opponent and hit the blade head on destroying it and forcing it to forfeit. Nazaki moved quick enough to jump above the large blast while in vulcan form and landed right on his enemy. Crashing deep withinnthe ground and having him for a safe landing. That wasnt all though, Nazaki repeatedly stomped on him making sure to bresk every bone in his body and completely crush him. With every cracking bone came another lethal stomp and he enjoyed every bit of it. The scenario caused a large smoke cloud before a whistle was blown, indicating the fight was over. Realizing the man was dead, Nazaki fled the scene. Luckily he wore a mask and cloak so these peoole couldnt track him down..
