This will likely be shot down...

On other sites I've roleplayed on, they use activity experience based on post count in addition to jobs/combat. For everyone asking for social experience, would that kind of system work? The idea would be something low, like 10 xp a month for I don't know, 20 posts? Whatever the average lower end of post counts is. It'd get no team or guild bonus and would be flat progression for active players. For those doing jobs or dueling it's a small amount of extra xp. For those just doing socials, it allows for progression, albeit at a slower rate. As we have a top post counter, I suspect the site shows the numbers to staff.

Whilst i'm not opposed to exp from socials it just adds an extra burden to the staff and we've kind of seen how...slow things have been in regards to staff recently. On top of that exp on this site is meant to be more your magic growing and hanging with your buddies ain't going to raise your magic.

Now of course people might want to do a fight thread that isn't one of our jobs, but there is nothing stopping you creating a job specifically for the purposes of that personal plot. Then you can get exp and there is an easy way to determine exactly how much each person gets.

Suddenly adding a per month thing would also possibly annoy older members who have never gotten this. Of course the obvious fix would be to just reward them the amount they would of gotten if this had been added in originally. Of course that means working that out for every member. Its kinda tricky really.

Still not a bad suggestion as suggestions go. Simple and without anything too complex in it

What if we had an application or sign up for something like an "epic" social that is meant to be strictly character development

The idea is good but Zack already explained what you can do that ends up being the same thing.

Make your own job(s) that follow what story you would have in the thread. Its the reason why we said social threads shouldn't give exp because people can make jobs to fill this idea.

Good idea but its really already a thing on site, technically.

I personally don't care as much, but I have noticed since I started doing jobs with others my activity has gone down. I find myself becoming bored with lack of slots to roleplay and slow posting speeds. (i.e. I waited 3 weeks for someone to reply only to find out they'd dropped the thread without telling me.) It just seems like it be extra incentive for people to do socials.

Most socials go completely unfinished too because of people losing their interest in them. I have had more than half of mine go unfinished even with the stories they had in them and seen other's socials end up the same for them because of that same reason.

There really ends up not being a difference for people when it comes to losing their interest in any thread. Its the reason why every event we have had on site went unfinished basically too. It sucks that it is a thing but it more falls onto those you choose to do threads with than the type of thread.

Sorry that this has been an issue for you though and I hope things get better for you.

I am currently working on something(Or am returning to working) for this. But it wont every be anything major.

Sounds possible but what happens is that they will need a certain word count as well for these socials. They also couldn't just sit around and talk throughout the whole social as that would do nothing for how they would be getting stronger like in a job. There would have to be some sort of experience going on in this social that would be a way for the people in it to grow stronger.

That is why I said people are just better off making their own jobs because it will end up being the exact same thing as a job once we add all the requirements to it. I'm waiting to see what Kibs comes up with for this though and have hopes that it will be different.

Indeed, I agree. Ardere and I are having an EPIC battle atm, where Heero is pushing Ardere beyond his limits to see if he has the power to protect Infinity Hydra; and Fiore as a whole as a Guildmaster.

Threads like this is what Cirven means. A coffee date would not to it. I'm in agreement with him on just about everything. A good idea. If some staff changes happen soon it might go down.

Yeah that thread sounds pretty cool you are doing. Like I have a thread that's about done where there is a group after Kiersa's blood to clone her and make their own spy inside of ST but we stop them only to find out that Cirv and Aayla have clones and big fights and emotional stuff later we are near its end lol.

Now a coffee date that involved you having to dodge attacks and drink the coffee would work lol.
