So I was using my brain for stuff after recently hitting B rank and I was thinking of a particular spell to use, which I then starting thinking about how I could make it work. Now there are a lot of ways one could make spells and a lot of them are included in the rules. The particular spell I was thinking of is more akin to the old aura burst perk that used to exist, such a spell wouldn't fall into any category in the spells list. So why aren't there rules about TOGGLE SPELLS, spells that you turn on and they stay on until you turn them off (of course draining magic power so long as they are active) so you can have them on so long as you can sustain them with magic power. It's basically a spell that gives you the effect that you want until you either run out of juice or you say that's enough and turn it off, and then it goes on cooldown.

These type of spells are a good idea but they completely fall short of what a duration spell offers. You pay once for a duration spell and get it for a number of posts where you don't have to pay any extra MP.
I thought of adding these a bit ago but didn't think they would see use because duration spells and passive abilities outshine this concept. Still a possible addition to add at some point.

The would have to have pretty heavy rules set to make them balanced/worth making if they were ever to become a thing, I think people aren't to interested in them simply because there are no rules for them so they can try and make something cool then be completely disappointed when it gets nerfed into something very underwhelming.

One of the things here to note is that if you want a duration based spell to exceed its duration and cost MP for its duration then there is already limit transcendance.
Perhaps it could be introduced as a cost to activate and then every few posts you have to pay a cost to keep it active. Thus if your MP got too low it would auto deactivate.
