Name: The Aegian Staff
Type: Staff/Glider
Description:
Weaknesses:
Abilities:
Name: Aegis Slice
Rank: A
Type: Wind
Description: Alye grasps the middle of her staff and begins spinning it around her body, exchanging hands ever so often to make a circular pattern in the air. While the staff spins, the fans on the end of the staff are released, and begin cutting and pushing air around, encasing Alye in a protective bubble of wind that can deflect A-Rank or lower attacks but will slow S-Rank attacks down, causing them to only do half of their original damage. The cutting winds reach out to 50 feet away and have the force to slice through stone, but will skirt harmlessly against metal. The cutting winds can weaken A-Rank shields and obliterate C-D Rank defenses. S-Rank or higher will have no damage dealt to them. Duration: 4 posts. Cooldown: 5 posts.
Strengths:
- Defensive and offensive spell at the same time.
- Keeps large groups at bay.
Weaknesses:
- Can hurt friends and enemies.
- Shield can pierced by high speed spells.
- Leaves Alye slightly tired.
Name: Wind Wheel
Rank: A
Type: Wind
Description: Alye holds her staff to one side and spins it rapidly, with the fans extended. As the fans gather and produce wind, Alye uses her mastery over the magic to encase the winds in on each other, shaping them into a blade-like circular structure. Alye then wings her arms forward, releasing up to 15 blades of wind at a target. The blades of wind have enough force behind them to make a tree buckle or leave a deep gash in a boulder. They can slice straight through B-Rank and lower defenses and will weaken A-Rank defenses by half and S-Rank defenses by a quarter just by their sheer numbers. Duration: One or two posts. Cooldown: 4 posts.
Strengths:
- Strong offensive spell.
- Sheer numbers of the attack can be spread over two posts.
- Can be directed to hit one, or multiple targets.
Weaknesses:
- H-Rank shields will not be damaged by this spell.
- Useless against metal or ice.
- An individual blade is not as powerful as multiple blades at once.
Type: Staff/Glider
Description:
- The Staff and all of it's components:
- Spoiler:
First/Default Form- Spoiler:
- Locked Form
This is the most compact form of the staff. In this form, the staff has been pushed in on itself and is locked by the large corked mechanism on top. In this form, the staff is only about a foot long. It's combat effectiveness is about none in this form and is mainly used for easy transport of the staff. The mechanism to the staff is unlocked by running electricity through the top of the staff, which it then extends out to the Unlocked or First Form of the staff.
- Spoiler:
- Unlocked Form
The staff was hand-crafted by someone, and the design makes it seem to be very delicate. The shaft of the glider is made of a single piece of lightweight wood, hollowed down the middle. There are two wider, diamond-shaped pieces at the quarters near the top and bottom, into which a pair of brass rods are inserted. These rods form the hinges for the fan-like glider wings. The staff is used by Alye not only as a weapon, but also as a tool to manipulate air currents with magic. With the staff, she is able to send powerful blasts of air toward her enemies by triggering the smaller wing on the staff as a miniature fan.
Second Form- Spoiler:
- Spoiler:
Each wing is made of four thin shafts of the same kind of wood, fitted exactly so that, when they rotate back into the body of the glider, they lie flush with the sides. Across these shafts is attached a thick, wax paper surface that makes the glider resemble a large fan. There are four wings on the glider: two in the center that provide principle lift, and two at the base that are used for stabilization.
The wings fold back into the glider body with a snap. When folded up, the staff is so well made that it is as strong as any other wooden staff, and feels like one solid piece of wood. Despite its delicacy, the glider can be used like a regular quarterstaff. An Wind Magic user is capable of using it to augment a variety of defensive and offensive moves. The glider is a small, unpowered device and thus requires Wind Magic to use. To ride the glider, the rider grasps hold of the two leading spars of the lift wings, and loops his feet over the leading spars of the stabilizers. Generally, a Wind Mage will create a small burst of wind to lift themselves off the ground in order to get the glider in the air.
Because of its supple strength, a trained Wing Mage can also use it as part of their attacks or defenses, linking it seamlessly into the precise movements to control the movement of air. Because it extends the user's reach, it can create more powerful gusts of wind due to the longer motion arm in performing the technique. Another common technique to use the staff on is the air shield, spinning it to create the shield.
- Boosts flight speed dramatically.
- Can be used to make stronger and more complicated wind attacks.
- Extends a wind wizard's reach by giving them a father melee potential, and also increased the range of wind-based spells by 10 feet.
- Utilizes wide, sweeping attacks to keep numerous enemies at bay.
- Can be a effective melee weapon.
Weaknesses:
- Greatly weak to direct contact with fire.
- Cannot fly is the wings are completely soaked in water.
- Can only use Wind-based spells.
- Cannot use pin-point precision.
