Rank: Mythical
Type: Katana/Twin Katanas/Broadsword
Description:
The Sacred Sword of the Nephalem could perhaps be regarded as any regular old blade, with nothing special about it. And its appearance makes it so: it is a mere black katana with a white hilt, black gauze, and a black scabbard decorated with a golden serpent dragon coiling around its circumference. The blade itself is about a meter long, with almost a quarter of a meter used for the hilt. The Sacred Sword of the Nephalem has nothing outstanding in regards to its appearance, but is one of the most astoundingly powerful swords, carrying itself an immense amount of power and strength, perfect to suit a Nephalem, or more precisely: Deniel.
Within the blade resides a spirit of a very ancient creature, a dragon known as Nidhogg. An aged black dragon, one sealed within the blade. During the time of the Great Dragon War, Nidhogg had formerly been a very low class dragon, and in fact did not have the regular reptilian shape of most dragons, but instead had that of a serpent; in comparison, it was about half the size. However, Nidhogg was artificially injected with the power of the catastrophic Nephalem. The dragon's size more than doubled, and it's power exponentially increased, to the point where it could perhaps match the Dragon King himself, or even rule over him. However, the creators of this monster, having realized their mistake, instead sealed away both its power and its soul: its power within kept safeguarded for centuries at a time, and its soul within the blade of the Nephalem. Enslaved to the Nephalem within the sword, the raging spirit was tamed and broken down to serve the Nephalem and their needs for generation after generation, until coming into possession of Diabolos the Black Devil. Oftentimes he would bequeath this weapon upon his children so that they may attempt to use it in their struggles against him, only to have it fall straight into his hands once again. The last of his sons that this blade was given to was Deniel, until this man struck Diabolos down with his old hand, and the sword was forever his to keep.
The spirit of Nidhogg himself, though extremely vengeful against the Nephalem and would throw himself into a rage upon merely hearing the species name at first, had eventually died down. Eventually growing attached to its masters, the blade would eventually reach a stage in which it felt a deep sorrow and gripping compassion for the death of each of its masters. This would grow over the centuries, and eventually reach a peak when the newest master Deniel was established to the blade. The two formed the strongest bond of master and weapon that either had experienced, and perhaps the world had ever seen; Nidhogg is and will always be, without a doubt, Deniel's best friend and forever companion. No weapon would ever replace him. And with that bond came great power for both Deniel and Nidhogg; not only had Nidhogg's power grown with Deniel's, but the two learned how to develop a fighting style, and even merge their spirits into one temporarily. And from the Priory of Wyrm, Deniel attained the Lacrima that would awaken Nidhogg's true power forever.
The key feature for the Nephalem blade is its adaptability: designed to fit Nephalem, the blade shifts among 3 different forms: Nidhogg, Armageddon, and Vita and Mors. The first of the three is its default form as a black katana, the second is an enormous demonic broadsword that may also shift its position into the shape of a scythe for perhaps a more practical use, and finally with Vita and Mors, the black and white colors of Nidhogg reverse themselves, and there are now two katanas instead of one. Each of these forms of the sword clash respectively with Deniel's default/Nephalem form, the Black Devil, and the White Angel.
Strengths:
- The only person that may lift Deniel's blade--regardless of its form--is himself.
- Deniel and Nidhogg may communicate telepathically, through each other's minds. The sword can speak out loud, but for hidden strategies and advice, their conversation is kept private.
- Though the exact material that each blade is of unknown, they do take on certain properties; Armageddon deals 25% increased weapon damage to angels, Gods, and Demon Slayers, Vita and Mors deals 25% increased weapon damage to Demons, Monsters, Undead, and God Slayers, and Nidhogg deals 25% increased damage to all previously listed categories.
Weaknesses:
- If one weapon form is broken, all of them are broken.
- This weapon also directly links to Deniel's Secondary Magic. Without it, none of his Secondary Spells can be used.
- There are multiple forms, but each of them don't necessarily provide much advantages in regards to abilities. They are the same, mostly.
- All of them classify as melee weapons, so close quarters combat is a necessity for all of them.
Abilities: Some Abilities for the Sacred Sword of the Nephalem can be different energies, depending on Deniel's Take Over and weapon of choice. What is key is that the Abilities of the sword do not shift in their effects, but only corresponding energies so that it may clash with Deniel's Form.
- D Rank:
- Name: Swift Blade
Rank: D
Type: Tactical, Mobile, Offensive
Duration: Passive
Cooldown: N/A
Description: After every swing of his sword, the Nephalem has the ability to dash in any direction he wishes, including through objects and people. If the attack misses, he can only dash up to 5 meters, but if it lands, then he may dash up to 10 meters.
- C Rank:
- Name: Levitate
Rank: C
Type: Tactical
Duration: 5 posts
Cooldown: 6 posts.
Description: Levitate is a Tactical spell used by the Nephalem and Nidhogg that creates a force of attraction between the two, which allows the wielder to control and swing the sword without actually having to wield it directly. The same amount of damage is applied, and the slashing speed of Deniel does not change, but what he is capable of doing is now utilize and swing his sword for a maximum of 20 meters away from himself. Deniel may return his blade(s) at a moment's notice, and regardless of how far away the blade is, he is able to return it instantly. The fastest Deniel is capable of launching his blades away from himself is at 30 meters per second, which can be considered fairly fast given the distance.
Strengths:- Levitate can active any on-hit effects.
- Even while levitating, all passives regarding Deniel and his swords are available.
Weaknesses:- Levitate cannot be used while using Swift Blade.
- Levitation only provides bonus range, but no damage.
- Levitate cannot be used with Bladestorm.
- Levitate can active any on-hit effects.
- B Rank:
- Name: Parry
Rank: B
Type: Defensive
Duration: Instant
Cooldown: 4 Posts
Description: Deniel enters a defensive stance with his current blade. If he manages to have his blade connect with different attacks, which is very likely, then different results occur. All spells that are B rank and below are converted into Chaos Energy, and sent directly back to the user. Any spells above that have their damage cut in half. Melee and weapon attacks that are parried will directly harm the user.
Strengths:- Deniel's speed as a swordsman makes it very likely that he will be able to parry incoming attacks.
Weaknesses:- Deniel cannot attack or use other spells while in this temporary defensive stance.
- The defensive stance is short, so timing is essential to inflict maximum damage, or absorb maximum damage.
- Deniel's speed as a swordsman makes it very likely that he will be able to parry incoming attacks.
- A Rank:
- Name: Summoned Swords
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Duration: 6 Posts
Cooldown: 7 Posts
Description: Summoned Swords is an ability that seemingly does nothing upon activation, when in reality it gives the Nephalem an enormous advantage with combat, and can have the potential to generate an enormous amount of damage at range through one or multiple targets. Summoned Swords, as the name suggests, allows Deniel to summon an infinite number of swords for the duration, but these are not used for substitutions or for close ranged combat. Instead these swords are summoned in a spectral or evanescent like manner, appearing as phantasmal and transparent ghostly versions of whatever sword is currently equipped and the color of it corresponds to the energy of that sword as well. Summoned Swords appear at the shoulder area of Deniel, either at the side of them or just above them, and only one may be summoned at a time, yet that does not mean they are summoned slowly at all; at least 6 summoned swords can be generated in about one in a half seconds, and fired in a multitude of ways. Deniel has the ability to decide when and how these swords are launched, and they can include firing them one at a time, all at once, from above an enemy, rain down on them, surround them, etc. The possibilities are quite literally endless. Regardless of how they are launched, they all have the same speed, damage, range, and effects. Each sword travels at 70 meters per second and can reach a maximum of 80 meters, and each sword also deals 10 damage. There is no limit as to how many swords can be fired, but a person may receive no more than 100 damage from this spell over the course of the duration.
Strengths:- Summoned Swords can be manipulated in any way the Nephalem sees fit.
- The damage to Summoned Swords can be built up fast, especially with large crowds.
Weaknesses:- There is a damage cap on Summoned Swords, so it can become useless fast on a single target.
- Summoned Swords do not apply on-hit effects.
- Though swords can be delayed and fired all at once, only a maximum of 10 can be fired at the same time.
- Summoned Swords can be manipulated in any way the Nephalem sees fit.
- S Rank:
- Rank: Omnislash
Type: Offensive
Duration: 8 Posts.
Cooldown: 10 Posts.
Description: Omnislash enhances the next several strikes done by the Sacred Sword of the Nephalem, and--very similar to Swift Blade--is most capable when used on groups of enemies rather than just one. Upon activation, the next attack done by the Sacred Sword of the Nephalem adds S rank spell damage to its weapon damage, which is also calculated with his strength and its bonuses. No other bonus damage spells or passives may be activated at this time. The most prominent aspect of the ability is its capability of hitting multiple targets; if Deniel manages to hit a single person, the spell does still not end. He may strike once again with the same bonus damage, but not on the same target. The target must be different. So long as he is hitting different targets, the damage is reset and applied over and over and over again. That being said, he is capable of alternating between only two targets at a time, and the damage is capable of resetting.
Strengths:- Omnislash is the only spell in this whole arsenal that can apply on-hit passive effects.
- Omnislash's damage resets the more individual targets are hit.
Weaknesses:- Omnislash cannot, however, be applied with any other "bonus damage" spell.
- Omnislash enters its maximum Cool Down if the same target is hit twice in a row.
- While Omnislash is active, no Secondary Spells can be activated, but this excludes Spirit Merge.
- Omnislash is the only spell in this whole arsenal that can apply on-hit passive effects.
- H Rank:
- Name: The Nephalem Dragon
Rank: H
Type: Offensive, Summon
Duration:10 Posts
Cooldown: 15 Posts
Description: Trapped almost forever within the katana forged by the Nephalem, the spirit of Nidhogg can oftentimes become extremely restless, and eager for some of the action of himself; for sometimes his thirst can not be quenched by the mere blood spilled on his blade. Unfortunately, the most common and seemingly the only way that Nidhogg has been capable of manifesting himself outside of his seal is with a very small, noncombat capable form as a tiny serpent like pet. However, Deniel has developed a method in which he sacrifices an enormous amount of his Magic Power, double that of an H rank, and temporarily sacrifices his blade so that the spirit of Nidhogg the Nephalem Dragon may manifest itself into the realm of reality for a duration before being sealed within the sword once more.
The Nephalem Dragon is an enormous creature, with its size being slightly bigger than that of normal dragons, and matching that of the Dragon King himself. The colossal wings and limbs of Nidhogg have the power to generate a storm with a harsh flap or a swing of his claws, his roar can echo across the lands for kilometers, and its flight can travel across all of the world within seconds.
Covered in a black web-like material, the Nephalem Dragon more or less appears to be a bit unstable, with parts of its bones showing with very little muscle actually holding it together. In fact, its rib cage is split wide open and underneath is a purple core of Chaos Energy, which is also very similar to the massive wings on its back. Overall the appearance of the Nephalem dragon appears to be quite unstable, however its appearance does not hinder its performance; Nidhogg's strengths exceeds almost any dragon's out there. The features of Nidhogg are extremely rough and rugged, especially with the scales covering up the portions of its body that do not appear to have bits of flesh keeping it together almost like strings. Spikes run down the spine of the Nephalem Dragon, all the way down to the tip of its long tail. It possesses a forked purple tongue, and a pair of terrifying beady purple eyes.
This summoned spell of Nidhogg is not a pet, Celestial Spirit, or even a normal type of summoning, thus it has its own perks that can go beyond summoning equivalent of its rank.
The strength, speed, durability, and Nidhogg all draws its power from the fact that he's a dragon, and Deniel is his user. Thus, it is almost impossible to consider that his levels of strength are that of a mortal man's, or even a normal mage's; if he and Deniel were to fight each other, there would be no telling if one would overpower the other. Nidhogg is so powerful that manifesting himself--even temporarily--takes an enormous chunk of Deniel's power, and even disables some of his abilities, which are listed below.
Power of the Nephalem:
The passive for this summon is that its power feeds off of Deniel, which is why a doubled cost is necesary to summon him, and thus has heavily enhanced statuses compared to normal summons. Nidhogg's melee attacks are not only brutal, but can be enhanced with the Chaos Energy that the Nephalem utilizes, as that power is what is embedded in Nidhogg. His melee attacks deal 75 damage each, whether it is his arms, legs, tail, or even taking a bite out of things. He has the strength to level buildings, destroy entire towns, and cause a tremor with a stomp of any of his colossal limbs. And as for the Health Points of Nidhogg, it is 200 more than Deniel's maximum health. Nidhogg also possesses a roar attack, which may he use once at any time during the time he is summoned.
Nephalem Dragon's Roar:
The Nephalem pulls back its body and inhales a deep breath from its foul lungs, as the Chaos Energy within its chest area begins to build up visible, adding no subtlety to what is about to come, as it is common knowledge that a dragon is capable of performing its roar as one of his most powerful and essential spells. Shortly after taking its breath, Nidhogg unleashes is ferocious and feral roar with a blast of Chaos Energy. This catastrophic roar deals H rank damage, and travels at 100 meters per second in a cylinder shape to a maximum of 400 meters. This roar's radius is 85 meters, and not only deals H rank damage to anything caught within it, but also unleashes an explosion that is mainly for causing cataclysmic damage to the environment rather than to players. Though if permission is granted, players may suffer a second set of H rank damage from the explosion that follows, which is approximately 100 meters in a radius.
Strengths:- The Nephalem Dragon is enormous, and deals tons of damage.
- The Nephalem Dragon's statuses outclasses almost any other summon.
- Nephalem Dragon's Roar is probably one of the most devastatingly powerful spells to ever exist.
Weaknesses:- While this is active, Deniel does not have access to his Secondary Magic.
- Cannot be activated if he is Spirit Merged, which is the S rank spell to his Secondary Magic.
- Deniel temporarily loses the ability to use any of his sword's abilities as well.
- This spell has a doubled cost.
- The Nephalem Dragon is enormous, and deals tons of damage.
