Eliot was abandoned as a child of one. He was left on the doorstep of Alan and Marie Malpirg on a rainy October afternoon, covered in a blanket inside a basket. When Alan and Marie discovered the boy, they immediately fell in love with him. With a son already out traveling the world, it gave them joy to have a youth in the house once more.
The revitalized parents waited patiently for the boy’s parents to come searching for him but after many months, chose to adopt him as their own. He was named Eliot after Marie’s grandfather. After a doctoral visit to make sure he was healthy and to learn his age, they took him home to raise him.
Eliot grew up in the simple life. His father was a farmer who utilized lacrimas to aid in his everyday chores. His mother baked and sold her goods at the family shop, a small stand down the path from their home. As the boy began to grow, he became quite adventurous and curious. He would spend hours running through the farmland and fields, pretending to be on great adventures. He was a fairly bright boy with a passion for reading, the muse for his daytime adventures.
It wasn’t until he was eleven that he made the decision that he wanted to learn magic. He had seen the wonderful things it did for his father’s farm and desired to see more of it, even learn some of it. He had heard tales from customers about the great things happening in the land of Fiore, of rich and powerful wizards everywhere. While part of him was caught up in the glory of it, the other half worried about leaving the only parents he ever knew. He was pleasantly surprised at their urging of him to go out and discover the world, though they forbade him from doing so before he turned fourteen.
Eliot throws himself right into the thicket when it comes to battles. His years as playing hero on his head have numbed him a bit to real danger. Headstrong he charges in close to take his enemy by surprise. He wants to end conflict as quickly and painlessly as possible so he goes for knockout blows fairly quickly.
He doesn't consider himself a leader because of his young age. Though well-read, he believes age and wisdom most certainly circumvent any tactics he may try to utilize. But he is also good at observing so he can learn to lead.

*Magic: Any kind! Having been raised away from it, any ability captures his wonder. His wanton to know more about the magical world causes him to be mesmerized by shows of power.
*Sweets: Of course he likes sweets, he’s a growing kid! Candy, cake, pie; anything that is sweet to the tongue will give Eliot pause, even during a quest.
*Friendship: As corny as it sounds, Eliot wants to have a lot of friends. He’s only had his foster parents to rely on growing up so he has a burning desire to see new faces and meet new people.
Dislikes:
*Evil: Though he’s never seen any real example of it, he has a natural urge to resist malevolence. He’s not entirely sure why this is, though he assumes it is something passed down from his natural parents.
*Treachery: Eliot was raised to trust with all his heart. He’s never had to experience the heartbreak of someone betraying him but he knows that if any were to do so, they would surely make an enemy of him.
*Vegetables: Gross. No, seriously.

*Abandonment: Eliot loves his foster parents but they weren’t his birth parents. They left him and ever since he was told of this, he’s a deep underlying fear of being left behind again.
*Jonah Complex: Being as aware of his magic power as he is, Eliot knows that power works hand in hand with corruption. He’s read plenty of stories where a hero was gifted immeasurable power and was brought to the dark side by their lust for more. Because of this, he worries that his want to discover his potential is a greedy need for more power.
*Claustrophobic: Self-explanatory. He hates being in small spaces or tight squeezes. He even refuses to be stuck between two people that are taller than him.
Motivations:
*Pride: Not his own pride but he wants to make his foster parents proud. They’ve lived a small, quaint life and all Eliot wants is to repay their kindness. They took him in when they didn’t need to and he feels like he owes them.
*Adventure: This is a bit more selfish. While he respects his foster parent’s choice of lifestyle, it isn’t for him. He isn’t happy with working a farm and living the quiet, relaxed life that his foster parents did and do. He wants to see amazing sights and discover incredible mysteries.
