    job info:

Zenshin was on a job with two very special people tonight. Not only that, but the job itself was also something out of the ordinary. He and his fellow Knights were to take on a job given to them by a vampire. A powerful one at that. They were to go into the haunted guild and retrieve a locket from a master vampire that had taken it from the client. "Here you are, boy. Use it wisely" the client said, handing him a silver dagger just as promised. "The two others are almost here. Once we are all together, then we'll go after your locket" the guildmaster said to the vampire, reassuring him that the show was going to get started quite soon. Marick finally returned, and just as promised, his spot was given back to him. Once an Ace of Sabertooth, always an ace of Sabertooth he thought while sitting down against the wall next to the door that led to the main hall of the abandoned guild.

Not only that, but Ryo is also coming alone. I've heard that he has gotten much stronger since we last met. I really need to perform his S rank examination by the sounds of it he thought again. I'm close to getting enough power to hit the pinnacle of my magical strength... I can feel it. Especially after that job with the dragons, there isn't much more left before I'm classified as an H rank mage... he thought aloud while feeling the A-Rank limiter on his wrist. This should help me on my way there. But I'm going to need to rely on my teammates, maybe. Depends how much of a hard time these vampires give us, but under no circumstances is this coming off. He smiled. He felt as though if he used the limiter sooner, like during the job in which he and Zack saved the Royal Castle from the dragons, he would already be at that level.

Unfortunately, he didn't, he couldn't. Dragons required his entire focus and energy to defeat. A single lapse nearly cost him his life, but thankfully it was only his left forearm. Dammed beast. At least I got my revenge. It was true, he did get his revenge and now the head of the legendary golden dragon sat at the center of his guild hall's announcement platform. Definitely a glorious sight, reminding his guild members what he is capable of.

Vampire Hunting [Job] Empty Re: Vampire Hunting [Job]

Post by Guest 6th November 2014, 2:25 am

It had been a long, LONG time since Marick had last done a job. It had been even longer since he'd done a job with Zenshin, his guildmaster. The figure of the Sabertooth Ace was clad in his old black coat, something he'd ditched during his card playing days, but now was needed once more. A lot had changed since the days of Sabertooth's rebirth, and a lot had changed since Marick had left. Members had flowed in and Sabertooth was back to being rather a recognised guild. The mages that he once taught were now up to his level or even beyond it. While this would've concerned him in the past, Marick wasn't overly worried. In his absence he'd managed to learn a whole new magic, something which would normally take people years to achieve. He'd managed it in a few months while in Pergrande.

It wasn't just the guild that had changed. No, it was Marick himself and, from what he could see, Zenshin had changed too. Both of them had matured from their experiences and had come back stronger mentally as well as physically. Then there was Ryo Knetegawa, a man who'd grown so much stronger in Marick's absence that he'd become one of the guild's knights, held in high regard and now beyond Marick's own rank. The idea of teaming up with his guildmaster again as well as finally working with Ryo was something that even he was excited about.

While he had not yet revealed his return to Sabertooth to the members - he still had unfinished business to attend to in Fiore - he had informed Zenshin of his return to the country and requested a meet-up. It was only fitting really that they meet up to do a dangerous job. That was the thought that ran through his mind as he finally arrived at his destination, a cheeky smile plastered across his face as he caught sight of his guildmaster "Zenshin. Long time no see." he called out as he approached. Once he was beside the Wizard Saint, Marick looked up at the building before him. "So...we're to step into this place...it's like stepping into the lion's maw all over again..."

Ryo was giddy with anticipation about this job, but he was also far more serious than he used to be. His last mission with Ian had caused him to have great concern for his lover, but still he wasn't going to let it distract him. Instead he was going to focus on becoming stronger and hopefully that would help. He was giddy due to the fact that he was now on a mission with Zenshin. It had been quite sometime since he and Zenshin had explored the ancient ruins and Ryo obtained his gloves. He was only too happy to be once again working with his friend and the only man that he chose to bend the knee to.

Another reason for Ryo's giddyness was the fact that Marick a long missed friend was also going to be joining in the hunt. Ryo remembered when he and Marick had done jobs together and he had been a mentor to Ryo when he was younger. Now that he had gained so much power Ryo was honestly interested in how he would stack up with Marick. In the time of his absence Ryo had soared through the ranks and become a knight of the guild. Not to mention he had learned a brand new magic. He couldn't wait to show it off to his friend or even see his friend again. With the team in place Ryo began to think about the job as a whole. The job was almost something out of myth and legend.

The three Sabertooth magi were going to be sent into a castle to exterminate vampires. Ryo really didn't know about the whole vampires thing, but what he did know was that this would possibly be the toughest job of his legal mage career and he had to be on his toes. Thankfully if he truly did need help he knew there were two very powerful magi who would have his back. As he made his approach he saw his guildmaster and his fellow guild member were already here. This was slightly embarassing to Ryo as he was late but he simply shrugged and pulled out a tarot card and two playing cards. As he approached he carefully pat Zenshin on his back to let him know he was there, but as he removed his hand he lowered it to Zenshin's pocket and tried to slip a playing card into it. "Well it is good to see you both. Master Zenshin I am honored that you invited me on this mission."

He turned to Marick and without a warning he hugged him trying to slip the other playing card into one of his friend's pockets "Marick. I have missed you my friend. We will have to catch up and talk about where you've been and what you've seen when this is over." After giving Marick enough time to reply he pulled away and pressed a Tarot card called The Empress to his forehead "I have taken the liberty of giving you both a playing card. Hold onto it and I will be able to track where you go so if we get split up I can find you again. Don't lose it or I won't be able to find you."

With his spell cast he tucked away the empress and looked to Zenshin and Marick "Well gentlemen shall we get this mission started? We still have daylight so it is probably best to move now."

    Spells used:
Tracking card (Duration, Thread, Can't use Calling card from this point onward)

"And I am honored that both of you would accept my insane request. Trust me when I say that ten year jobs are nothing to take lightly. I'm sure you already know this but I wanted to be completely clear-" he said, raising up his left arm towards in front of him, his elbow bent so it formed a sort of L shape across hos body. "-I lost my entire forearm on the one ten year job I have ever done to a dragon as well as being permanently scarred on my chest" he continued, pulling back his coat flap to reveal three large, diagnol scars along his chest from where the dragon's claws had torn into. "That being said, I will be relying on you two more than normally. You see, I've decided to use a limiter for this job. Why? Well I'm very close to achieving my pinnacle magical power, and what better way than using the equivalent of a magical sandbag". Zenshin had a smile on his face as he gave his teammates a thumbs up and handed them two silver daggers, one each.

"Physical attacks won't do anything to these creatures if we're to believe the client, who is a vampire himself. The only thing that will hurt them as far as physical attack goes is silver. I'm not sure about magically charged physical attacks though, so it's something to note" the guildmaster said as he pushed open the heavy wooden doors to the long since abandoned guild. "Let's try not to die today. It wouldn't be very good for the guild master, the second in command, and an ace to all die at the same time, okay?" he said jokingly, trying to ignore all the dust that was sent everywhere. The least they could 've done is sweep up a little the idle thought ran through his head as he walked forward, beginning to look left and right into the empty rooms of the haunted guild hall. "I also hope that you two don't scare easily. This guild is supposedly haunted, and I'm not just talking about the monsters we've come here to fight in the first place"

Ryo's reaction to his return had been somewhat unexpected, although he wasn't about to admit that. The card mage had felt the card being slipped into his pocket and a strong sense of nostalgia and regret burned through him. He missed the art of card magics. Nonetheless he was now considerably stronger, although he could feel the magical power radiating from Ryo and could tell that his former 'student' was now considerably more powerful than when Marick left, possibly more powerful than him now. This energy was almost like a challenge to Sabertooth's Lion; an unintentional 'catch me if you can' sort of challenge that Marick wouldn't ignore. No. He'd catch up to Ryo and maybe even surpass him again before too long. The student/mentor relationship was more like a friendly rivalry now, but one that would not interfere with their friendship nor their work.

Marick then turned his attention to Zenshin's arm and shook his head. "It would be you who lost a limb. I assume you were as confident as ever in your abilities and took your eye off the ball...still, it serves as a fair warning." he spoke calmly before rolling his shoulder to loosen it slightly. His anticipation of this job had left him somewhat tense, something which would only serve to hinder his ability should it remain. He accepted the dagger that was offered to him, looking it over in keen interest. From his time in Pergrande he had learned how to pick out a well-made weapon as opposed to a shoddy one. This weapon itself was apparently supposed to be a decorative piece. Still, it would surely serve its purpose nonetheless; daggers were not designed to block blades afterall, thus they need not be as sturdy as a sword. So long as they slipped between the ribs of the target the sharpened blade would do its duty perfectly well. As for his guildmaster's mention of the guildhall supposedly being haunted...well, that wasn't overly bothersome. "They're not my ghosts come back to haunt me, so this will be a piece of pi-...cake" He caught himself at the end of his sentence, realising he was in the company of his guildmates now after briefly returning to his rougher self. He wondered how Zenshin would react if he started to show signs of his former mercenarism attitude again.

Ryo pulled out nine cards for each hand and followed after his brothers in arms into the haunted guild hall. He didn't know what he would do, but one thing he did know was that he was going to survive or die trying to keep both Zenshin and Marick from dying. Vampires were terryfying creatures Ryo knew that, but something he actually did was pity Vampires like this. He knew well the story and while he admired their strength, power, and timeless life he felt pity for them and their lonely life. He thought about something else while he walked in behind Marick and his guildmaster. He thought about the kind of magic that he could possibly encounter in this hell hole. Unholy magic perhaps, blood magic, who knew, but one thing he did know was that if he could add another element to his elements deck then he would be even more powerful.

He heard Marick make the comment about ghosts from the past and all he could do was laugh unitentially "Ghosts. That's rich. All my ghosts are dead and buried anymore try to come back to this world will have to meet with their end by my hands. It's not the actual dead I'm scared of. It's the undead that are moving about the hall that give me cause for concern. Stay sharp eyed and eagle visioned in here. I'm not about to lose either of you to these damned monsters who took this power to cause havoc on humanity." he looked down at the cards in his hand with a smile and saw he had fire element cards and lightning element cards. He had remembered that these two elements would be effective at harming the damned beings. He just didn't know exactly how good it would do if he couldn't see them. Unlike the vampires he didn't have any ability to see in the dark. Ryo looked to both Marick and Zenshin as he moved his back to keep it to his partners in crime "We need to keep it tight. We need to make sure that we don't get seperated. All three of us can take down enemies, but we can't take down inhuman monsters alone."
