Pilfering of souls, lives. A vivified, enrapturing malady that sings in tearful tones of canticles, melodies and an ensemble's craft; beauty and oh-so virtuous dismay.

Virtuous. Virtue? What a strange word that was. Or is? Holding such an alluring... scent, like a flower no less grand than life, than death.
A madman's banter. Banterous even in thought. Even banter, oh... indeed, eloquence be its anima; even such ramblings are a flap, a flab. Too utterly pointless, so they even border with the concept of... noise.

And that, itself, was a funny thought. Eerily meaningful on its sundry backdrop. Dangerously so. Noise speaks of music and of taste. Of personality and preference. Of order. Contrived, machinated systematic input-output based anchors to existence, and that is too, too, too...!

A small grunt, chewed and spat out, incised the noise.
He was never really sure about it, what the grating sound was. Not the snort; that was his, but... the other thing that resembled coherent speech, uttered in forced exaltation. Solicited praise spoken like a prayer to a deity that did not care. What was that?

Ludwig felt refreshed. By the scene, perhaps, so he took what was left of the moment to clear his mind, still groggy even though it had not slept. Or perhaps 'groggy' was the wrong word. 'Hazed' suited it more, for better or worse.
As if tasked with a mundane ritual, the crimson-clad man forced his senses active: the sight of orange flames and blood; the smell of sizzling flesh coupled with a rigid texture to the touch. 'Exquisite,' he'd call it, and the notion pierced him with elation.

Yes, steady understanding soaked into him. Mystery loosed a clutch or two and, suddenly, the present seemed much less alluring than it was, for he could understand it.
It was a village, where he stood. A dull settlement in a meaningless place full of boring mammals. Except that the settlement burned, the place was wilting and the mammals... came pre-butchered. 'Like broken toys.'

Slowly, Ludwig keeled his stature straight as demanded of him by some enigmatic notion of dignity. He wanted to survey the surrounding carnage for the rest of the time-deprived moment he was given. It wasn't an oft-claimed painting that he was suddenly drawn, thus he cherished it even if it was spontaneous and made no sense. Confusing? Probably. But so was existing, and then there is the paradoxical paradigm of peremptory and pre-built, purposeful destination often called 'profuse' for its petulant finality. Death. A most divine motif, votive and serene.

But indeed, glossed over or no, the present is one and just that. Ludwig could not avoid adhering to its simplistic factuality. A burning skeleton of a village, a burning remnant of what were villagers and amidst their fertile demise -- confusion, sprouted like a weed. Where death has passed now remained Ludwig, not fully aware of the what or the why.

So he stood, mired by the hideousness of such an unholy conclave.
    Awaiting...?

Post by Chaotic Rumble 16th September 2015, 7:14 am

Ayeseru sighed deeply.  It was on days like these in which he enjoyed the peaceful and quiet - days where he was uncertain.  The uncertaintly stemmed from various reasons, though, most of them, even he wasn't aware of.  It had been so long, and with how confusing he found his life to be, he felt as though at this point, he was the only one beating himself up.

A truly spectacular place, the Serene Cliff lived up to its name.  In his past few visits, Ayeseru had come across a small village that was being built around it.  It wasn't quite as finished as the villagers would please, but, it was a nice, small village which he would take joy in walking around and speaking to some of the villagers.  They were all kind people, ones deserving of what they desired.  He almost smiled.

The sky was blue, wind was blowing, the trees were healthy green, along with the grass, the view was lovely, wild life was blooming, and, quite frankly, everything was going very well for the cliff and its villagers.  It was only where he was a few kilometers off, when he came across the first batch of farms, that he noticed the unusual silence.  The village and cliff were always calm and silent, but, not to the degree Ayeseru was experiencing then.  There was no one tending the farms, no one walking nearby, and no one breathing from their noses...

He looked up, the black gold littering the sky.  "..."  It was only at that point in which he felt the necessity to smell the area around him, and he almost vomited.  The smell was grotesque; blood, limbs, and organs being burnt in combination with some pure raw.  The strange thing was that whatever was raw, was very raw, meaning that it couldn't of happened long ago, and perhaps, there would still be some survivors if what he thought was transpiring.

Gritting his teeth and clenching his fist, he used Void Step to almost swim through the shadows, carelessly shoving them to the side after using them to close distance from where he stood to the village, while being successful in being quick, not so successful in spotting any survivors, though, he did feel a presence.  Something told him that he shouldn't be too excited to find the presence, so, as he walked through the entrance, he could take the view around him in.

Burning buildings, corpses littered quite literally everywhere, organs, skin, and limbs so organized in their shapes and patterns it almost looked as though it was purposely done that way.  The sound of fire burning against wood, but, more disgustingly, flesh was all the Fallen God Slayer could hear, with a building on occasion collapsing on itself, turning into charred remains.  The sight became more focused on the remains of mutilated humans the further and further he went into the village.  He was trying extremely hard to prevent the scenery from affecting him, but, alas, the Prince of Hell strangely enough had a human side to him, and while no tears were shed, his eyes were red.

He reached the center of the village, in which, he couldn't bring himself to see the what was around him. On the other side from where he stood, he found a pile of remains, and in the middle, some sort of... Human? Ayeseru was uncertain; smoke and his teary eyes were preventing him from completely making out the figure, but it appeared to be humanoid, and while he couldn't quite catch a glimpse at him, there was something he definitely noticed.

    Red...

If the presence was as powerful as he had imagined it to be, then, it would know that Ayeseru was there, because the Fallen God Slayer wasn't particularly making an attempt to hide his presence. He would await any words - or moves - that the figure may toss his way.

Whether he could react or not was uncertain; he didn't know if this was real life, or just a dream.

Post by TehDMCmaniac 17th September 2015, 2:24 pm

The silencing winds picked up, twisting. A siphon spiraling outwards, dispelling the senseless heat of the moment which never ends.

Shapes slithering shapelessly. Wriggling, writhing in chaos; a silent outcry. A thousand edges ground in the suite of a cask. Which way will those weightless souls be blown asway, astray? Will----

"Will they, too, be molded to fit?
    Eerily, we'll stay...
    Comings, then endless day.
    Then endless day.
    Then endless day.

    Will they, too, be... be..."

Voiceless laughter, like a blade designed to crumble. Seeping through the emptiness surrounding, his switchblade cackle ended the singing of whatever time-forgotten song was mused. Yet did it truly end?
The crimson man twitched. Twirled and hopped, like a freed soul in freedom's fields. A mad mirth in madder hues, it couldn't have been more everlasting within wherefore's clasp.
    Evanescence.
    A bow.

And reversion gusting through. Heated breeze, humming in communion with the madness of it all.
    "A scene not unlike Hell.
    Therein lies naught greater defilement.
    Shedding coils,
    Libera. Libera. Libera.
    To crown the zenith, Hell.
    Bahahahahaha! Hell!"

The deranged cackle echoed like an infernal feast. Chewing flesh and bones snapping; could a laughter be described as such? Disembodied joy too pure to have sprouted from that crimson nightmare.
But the madder shape did not care. He conducted his experiment like he would an orchestra, each beat gorging on red to make crimson. Insanity. Each fling of slithered motion, all too impossibly human, shook the landscape, too much alike a dream. Every beat harnessed a butterfly's lunacy to enhance, nay, evolve divine debauchery into transcendent sin.

There was no comprehensible explanation. A mad dance in madder clad, skipping amidst the brutally deceased. But was it insane? Or partnered with insanity? How could it be truly red without the blood of the world boiling in that corrupted cesspit? The crimson one knew it; he was self aware.
And not alone; nothing was more irritating.

The death of laughter stretched liquefied, ensuing silence. Perhaps, in some twisted sense of comedy, a small ray of light penetrated the smog, seeped through the only window in the low-hanging ceiling; a vermilion sky.
No words truly suited the deep red painting. Only stillness spread through the ripples of crushed humanity. Like a memory...

    "... Why?"
A lashing glare aimed for nowhere. Or perhaps something only visible to those clouded eyes met with blood.

"Kill... Yourself. It is rude to be alive in the presence of us all. Undress yourself. I want..."
The blurred figure half-turned, his hand crawled up the near-tangible stench. Like a snake's crooked tongue, tasting the death of something alien, his motion was less than methodical, yet placidly steady. Fundamentally feral, yet too controlled. Eerie. Far beyond imitation and too unnaturally human.
It was human. A human's reaching... Yet far too surreal.

"... Your sputtering spark. Remove it. Light only agitates..."
A truly disembodied voice, but summoned by his will. Rasp murmurs, lacking depth while richly abrasive echoed against walls too transparent to understand.

    "Agitation, die."

None of it made sense, but that was not a place for reason. There is none in Hell. For we fear it...
Our souls are claimed in purgatory.

Ayeseru looked on in silence, eyes attempting to adjust to the environment, but they could not.  He allowed his arms to rest by his side, as he brought his chin down to study the presence before him properly, however, how could one do so if their eyes would refuse to take what's presented before them as reality?  He looked at the presence, but all he could see was a red blur, even out of the smoke that covered his entity previously.

When the character spoke, Ayeseru could feel its wrath and killing intent to the extreme; it didn't even attempt to hide it.  As it played hop scotch through the deceased, Ayeseru began feeling something never before - fear.  It wasn't too big of an amount, but, alas, it was there; something about the presence made him feel incredibly uneasy - fear.  "..."  Ayeseru simply stared at the blurred red figure as it drew closer and closer, the fleshy remains of the deceased reacting to his movements.

    Squish, squish, squish...

"What an interesting piece of existence you are, I must say.", Ayeseru finally spoke, completely relaxed in facial expression, voice, and composure.  It was only then and there that he looked at whatever it was in front of him with blank eyes.  "Such a shame that now, it must be erased."

As soon as Ayeseru finished his sentences, the area around began growing darker and darker; the shadows were being drawn into Ayeseru's body, covering every aspect, and soon enough, it his body appeared to only be a shadow itself; it would actually be impossible to differentiate the two if Ayeseru's body didn't have crimson red, glowing eyes, and a crimson red sadistic smile to boot.  His right fist in particular was collecting an insane amount of purely refined and intense shadows, simply allowing it to rest on that hand.

All the while, Ayeseru was looking down, and when he looked back up to the said presence, all he could say was,

    "Come..."

Post by TehDMCmaniac 19th September 2015, 2:47 am

As if the gore thickened, the crimson one's sinister approach ceased, though absent-minded eyes grew sharper. A response to a reply; vaguely reminiscent of something, too closely resembling something... what.... conversation, was it?

The experience was new. Still, too old to be new, but equally as refreshing... And smile-soliciting.

    "Erase."
The faintest smile. Breathless emotion, but a feeling still. There is only one memory that may ever be tied to its deathly clutch.

    "... Erase..."
The corners of his mouth reached for his ears. Erase, end, death, killing, end, end, end, end. The end played out before his eyes with the sheen of something long-forgotten. Something for too long remembered.

    "ERASE!"
A massive pillar of obsidian fire erupted in the space all around him. The entire village was engulfed in flames of memory. With a the power of a raging volcano, the darkness pillared like a lance for the smoke-obscured sun, aiming to not kill, but end the very notion of existence. To erase.
Corpses that were already half-decomposed began dissolving -- fueling the tormented flames. Of what immediately fell victim, small particles only remained, briefly, as they floated upwards in a dance to quell the hungering destruction. Like paper-flakes set ablaze, their ephemeral, fragmented existence was a sandstorm of forgotten lives; sparks of presence devoured by one's unending ire.

His body was no longer defined as a shape. There was no room for constants within that flame-like hellscape. Lines curved, curled and bulged into exploding rage; manifested will to cut a path straight to eternal nightmare.
But within the shape, two eyes shone with the brilliance of suns. Golden arrows that coalesced ire to caress their soft glow.
For every hue of black that could describe that pillar of annihilation, there was a darker, more soul-devouring ink that erupted within it. It traced the body of the one inside faithfully; it could not be mistaken. That pure expression of hatred was his outcry against life.

The tar-like fire covering the village thickened to a point where in place of heat, one could sense their devouring nature. What few of them were near the intruder, however, were much more sinister. Like willful tendrils, they coiled around Ayeseru, shadows which paled in comparison to the death black that would engulf him.
It was a death sentence. Execution by way of obliteration. A doom that stood near-tangible.

A massive rumble shook the notion of space within the landscape of damnation. Ludwig surged towards his victim with a single step that with just mere presence overruled the meek laws of nature. Nothing could stop his hatred. Nature was nothing, life was nothing, everything was nothing. And even if they weren't...

They would soon be reduced to it.

    A moment,
    Suspended in time,
    A dream?
    Or reality?

Ayeseru's eerie blood red, glowing smile was now leaking the glowing blood red substance, almost as though he was drooling blood.  His smile kept on extending to the point where it almost looked like it was going to continue endlessly, but ended right before his ears.  As the flames of the wicked appeared to dissolve his own element, more blood red substance appeared to drip out of his smile.

Suddenly....  Vash!  The presence suddenly vanished, however, Ayeseru knew it was there.  It was closing in on him, prepared to strike - marvelous speed, indeed.  There is, however, something in everything that is inescapable, something that provides them the means of living; exisiting.  The Shadow.

Despite not being able to see the presence, he could feel its shadow; he knew where it was.  Completely relaxed and composed, Ayeseru allowed its strike to reach a single centimeter away from his face, before, he himself went Vash!  Ayeseru appeared behind the presence, where his shadow was located, and began giggling.  Clenching his fist, the shadows got darker, almost impossibly black, reinforcing them and bringing back whatever shadows were eaten up by the flames.  "Don't think taking these away from me will be that easy..."

As he appeared from the shadow, however, Ayeseru appeared to be staggering forward like a drunken man for three steps, but, afterwards, instantly turning himself around, the refined and intense shadows shooting towards the presence like a spiral after what appeared to be punching the air, leaving a crack of his dark shadows where his fist was extended to, remaining even after the torrent of shadows went in for the assault.  Ayeseru tilted his head slightly, curious as to the result of the attack.

He knew then, however, that it was definitely not enough.

    "Oh~"

It lived, yet could retain the spark for longer than other living things. What was it... power? The strength to protect one's self?
The crimson one twirled diagonally around the feeble thing -- shadow? -- attacking him and for the briefest of moments, in the silence of fire and decay, Ludwig's eyes truly locked with the intruder's. A challenge. A foreboding warning. Or rather, mockery.
What was this scrawny spark trying to do; kill? Destroy Ludwig, struggle against the nightmare. Overcome the nightmare...
Ludwig can hear them still. The memories in their viscous impunity confining him to a singular path -- no! Something lied there, in between the discarded fractals. Spread between memories of death could only lie simple things. Instances that were not his. Azure dreams, dreams he never had!

Is this why life must end? To preserve the dream where it must belong?

    ...

    ...

    ...

    ... A heartbeat.
    In a single span.
    Breath.

    ... Thum thum.
    The sound of life.
    Blue... soothing blue.

    ... Thum thum.
    The image flickers.
    The heartbeat flickers.

    ... Thum.... thum...
    Echoes in passing, all around.
    Vena kes!
    A monster! Kill the monster!

    ...
    A fateful night.
    Birth in blood.

Death by fire is the purest.
But, in the end, it is still only death.

It was only a single moment. A smile, piercing glare.

Before the breath could even begin, the crimson one had already reached the intruder. Cracking air -- two fists flew incomprehensibly, each more fatal, each dancing the flaming ire.
Another tremor as Ludwig kicked backwards at half speed, then lunged back in. His body defied laws... Rather, it set its own. His speed could not be measured, for it did not belong to the realm of humanity at all. Space began to distort where he moved, as if glass work cracked there. This was his reality, after all.

The infinite moment could only extend so much between the two deranged fighters. Ludwig's advance ended, yet, as if his momentum went on, the reality around and behind his target continued to crack, each fissure beginning to spew those sickly black tendrils. And then true Hell broke loose.

From each crack a black flame image of Ludwig broke free and assailed the target, each of them transcending logical speeds. Where one jabbed for his face, another three tried to crush his body between a multi-sided onslaught of kicks; and each of them dressed in incinerating hatred. No escape existed. There were too many to hunt the fleeing down.
Ludwig himself circled around his prey and struck for its head, though it was intended to be avoided. Immediately after, he traced the exact location of it and surged, pivoting around his waist with a flaming hand, then clutching it for an earth-shattering suplex. But it did not end there; he kept his grip and flipped over his target so he can suplex him again and again, chasing if needed.
When he did finally let go, it was to pivot once more, but this time for a sweep chained into a splitting axe kick that seemingly multiplied itself. Cracking air, distorted reality and sundered earth, all set on fire while the scattered gore on the ground squished and splashed. Where one leg was raised, seven came crashing down as if to smite Gaia herself.
And that was only followed by a short jab to the chest which seemed too momentous to perceive. The force was sufficient to send a shock wave to topple a building.
Bone chilling laughter. The shades of a hundred bodies melded into a surging body of hatred, spiraling in outcry against life. If they were the lightning, then Ludwig's fist was the lightning rod to drive them into the ground with a fist like an orbital rail gun. A supernova of hatred, it exploded like a nuclear bomb.

    Razed.
    Vaporised.
    Annihilated.

Little of the village would be left standing. Barely even a memory.

Ayeseru's curiosity was sated; as he had suspected, the presence was far more durable than what even the Prince of Hell had originally presumed.  Sure, he didn't expect it to deal a terrible blow to the crimson entity, however, he had at least expected a scratch.  He almost sighed, and would have in fact if his maniac-like smile would of allowed him to.  He tilted his head sideways, noticing a brief moment of wavering in the presence, but it immediately began moving again towards Ayeseru once more.

He could not see the travel speed, but he could always feel the shadow.  He allowed the presence to come, once more, only a few centimeters away from his face before merely sidestepping the carelessly thrown attacks, flaunting his own speed and looking as though he disappears from the plane of existance and appears at another point.  When the red mist jumped backwards briefly, Ayeseru simply shrugged towards it in a mocking matter, and when he went back in to assault, Ayeseru dissolved his body instantly into a shadow, forming it once more when he felt there was a brief moment of safety.

Ayeseru could hear it like shattering glass; the world around him was not the world as he knew it, this much he concluded, however, with the movements the presence had, its manipulation of the world was almost too good.  Despite that, it was not to be most concerned about, because from where he heard the cracks is where danger emerged; more of the presence.  A single moment, frozen in time, Ayeseru knew the entire surroundings.  When real life realization came, he literally grabbed a part of his shadow and ripped it out, throwing it high into the heavens and as it reached its peak without harm, he darted straight to it.

Ayeseru had a brief advantage to look over the battle field, and came to a wonderful conclusion.  He transported himself to the shadow of one of the presences and began dancing around the strikes and attempted blows of each and every presence, looking as though he just abrely manages to weave in between them, yet, entirely under control and completely planned.

It was when one of the presences came and grabbed Ayeseru where he was slightly caught off guard, but knew he could escape it.  The fire was burning him, but Ayeseru didn't appear to be paying too much attention to that fact.  He was thrown backwards, primarily to land on his back and neck; a suplex.  Midway, Ayeseru allowed himself to become a shadow once more, quite literally passing through its grip and landing on his feet, with a much more mocking shrug than last time.  The process ended up repeating itself a few times, and during some of the final ones, Ayeseru ended up hopefully tricking it by transforming his upper torso, with the exception of his hands, to a shadow, in order to practically stop himself from getting hit on the ground at the last moment.

He was still having fun with the presence

When it finally ended, he snickered.  His hands did get slightly injured, and he felt a surprising amount of energy loss from just being grabbed.  A kick to attempt to knock him off guard came by, only to be jumped, as another kick attempted to strike him in the face, only for Ayeseru to bend his back so much that it looked like his entire body should've broke.

    But that's when it came.

Seven more kicks, out of literlly nowhere, came raining down on Ayeseru, striking him with so much force that whever he was struck, the bones around that area instantly cracked, and he was sent plummeting to the gorey ground.  When he landed, it made an extremely disgusting Squish! sound, and the appearance he took on before completely faded, his normal one resuming.  When his back hit the ground, he briefly bounced off of it and coughed out blood, only to be sent back to the ground by another jab to the chest, but, that strike, he couldn't feel.

He heard a laughter, presumably from the presence, however, everything was becoming fainter and fainter, and his vision was more and more being clouded white.  A smile?  Yes, one was embed in Ayeseru's lips.  Was it possible that he had accepted this fate?  He is the one at fault for allowing it to happen; he could have avoided those kicks, but...  He did not.  Yes, it was purely his fault, and he decided to simply accept it.  The noise was fading, the pain was diminishing, everything about it just appeared to be...  Peaceful.

    Nowhere...

Ayeseru opened his eyes and found himself laying down in a completely white and flat area.  He looked around, and couldn't find a beginning, nor an end to it.  Furthermore, he couldn't see anything else, apart from flat, white ground.  "..."  Ayeseru sighed deply.  He remember what happened to him, so he had a fairly decent idea as to where he found himself, groaning.  The land of the dead...  Though, I didn't expect it to be this dull and boring...

"Not quite, but, that's a fairly good guess."  Ayeseru instantly turned towards the direction in which he heard the voice from, finding the body of a woman, however, he could not make out details because it was...  Shining behind her?  It was shadowing all of the frontal view, so, he could not see this entity, either.  "You're in your own mind right now.  That light at the end of the tunnel?  Only a place your mind created.  It's where you go briefly if you have the option to teeter between life and death."

Despite not being able to properly see her, Ayeseru couldn't take his eyes off of her.  There was something incredibly enticing about the woman, however, not in a negative way.  Something made him want to listen and look at her.  "Are you really satisfied?  Not achieving anything in your life and letting go of them?"  Ayeseru couldn't respond, lowering his head slightly in shame.

If he would've looked at her then, he could've sensed a smile.  "I know you're not, and I also know you want to fix that.  I can send you back."  Ayeseru looked back up to her, nodding his head firmly.  There were many things in his life he didn't accomplish, many people he let down, many times where he let himself down.  It was only at that moment where he realized how unfair his actions were to this date; actions he could never remedy, but could make up for by looking towards the future.

He felt a strange tingling energy within him, one he had never experienced before.  The surrounding area became aqua blue, and it almost looked like he was standing on top of an ocean.  He clenched his fist and grit his teeth; he was annoyed at himself, however, more determined than anything else.  He continued with his stare at the woman, now, a confident half grin full of mischief appearing on his face.

This time, he could sense the smile.  "Since you seem to be in my mind somehow, I'm sure we'll meet again.  Now, there is no time to ask questions.  I have something very important I need to take care of."  She nodded, raising her left hand slightly, a dim glowing light appearing in it.  "Fight!"  The light engulfed Ayeseru's eyes, and he was slowly, but surely, seeing crimson once more...

    Reality...

A massive explosion was dealt to the area, completely erasing everything that struck it apart from the user.  From the ashes, one could see the presence, presumably laughing, and taking it all up.  However, if one looked very closely, one could see Ayeseru standing a few feet away, minus the strikes he suffered before, completely fine.  He was staring at the presence, not glaring at it, but, constantly looking at it; focused eyes.  Some may ask - how did Ayeseru survive?  Well, he simply, quite literally, allowed the spell to pass through him, and he was going to return the favour.

Normally, he would morph into the spell that was used against him and fly towards the opponent, but, this time, his shadows were concentrated in his hand, storing the power.  "One shot...", Ayeseru mumbled as he positioned the hand with the shadows in front of his face, "...is all I'll need."

Ayeseru began pouring all of his magical energy and ability into the newly stored power; he underwent his previous transformation once again, only to have his dark shadows absorb its power entirely, and he was still putting more and more energy into the dark shadows.  At this point, he was sweating tremendously, and reality around him appeared to be somewhat distorted by the raw power of the attack.  Ayeseru grit his teeth.  Not enough!

He began getting more and more tired, as the shadows were losing their power and energy.  Was this really all he could do?  He frowned.  It would appea-  Fight! was echoed in the back of his head, his eyes widened and found their focus, as the energy of the dark shadows increased.  So much energy was going into the attack that it was now affecting his health; he was coughing up blood, but still heald that cockky, half grin he gave to the woman in his vision.

    FIGHT!

Ayeseru started having cracks in his skin of blue energy, glowing from his veins, too.  The spell was now being infused with the strange new energy, but it felt tremendous, all the while it was burning his entire body.  The area around Ayeseru was randomly spawning lightning in various positions and locations in the same colour as the energy, and cracks were beginning to fill the entire village.  When he could no longer feel even energy itself, is when the collection stopped, and in his hand, he held, what was by far, his most powerful spell in history, in combination with what the presence used, all of his energy, and all of the strange blue energy he could summon.

"Now...", Ayeseru mumbled as he took a step back, retracting his arm before planning to fire it forward, "This...  Is...  OVER!" he bellowed as he shot his hand forward, and...  [End music now]

    ZRASH!

All of the magical energy he had summoned zurged back into Ayeseru...  Lightning appeared to have struck the young male, and a massive blue light temporarily blinded the area, and when it cleared...

    ...Ayeseru was down.

The destruction was accompanied by a blinding light. Such is the way of explosions, sure, but that one in particular went beyond mere combustions. Killing a land already dead required vigor beyond normal logic. A bestial need for devastation; an avatar of End.

    But not all was destroyed.

    "..."
Ludwig's cretinous smile had no end, but his eyes blazed with childish irritation. The intruder lived.

How? That face of his had no life to it. He was already dead inside to begin with.
The crimson man could understand in retrospect; his mind was still and steady, and it was a new sensation. Somehow, the sight of the broken figure staggering to a straight felt unnaturally heavy, pacifying. A mighty presence.
Curled into its deathbed, the body that should have faded instead held itself like royalty. Like a king...

It was too confusingly clear. For the briefest of instances, beneath that livid stare shone a spark, forever miring, eternally enticing. Too vividly obvious.
Sparks and lightning lashed around wildly. The air was rippling with power.

    Each ripple spreading...

    In an ocean of life...

    The primal sea.

To its beauty, this moon shone silver.

    A forced cancellation.
    Overrule the flaws with will.
    Rip matter from its origin.

Trace route -- Skarra and Lyth are both needed.
    Twist the leylines.
    Force open the Path.

    No way...

    Compensate variables.
    ...

Separate the ripples into twin streams.
Retrace the Spiral Concept -- stabilize the coil.

Channel Lyth into the concept of Primal Life.
Weave Skarra into the concept of Eternal Presence.

    Impossible...!

    Plant the seed.

The overwhelming pressure extended beyond the scope of perceivable reality. Ludwig knew that feeling. Somewhere deep inside he was aware of exactly what was happening: it was his origin, after all.
But the intruder was unprepared. Simple humans were not designed to wield such complicated magical theories---- How does he even know them?!

And yet he could see it. The small pulsating seed of Belthicor, siphoning incessantly the fuel of the twin coils built around it. Such fabulous sorcery, divine might! Absolute destruction embodied in nothing short of a miracle.

It did not take long before he reached it. But that's not quite right, either; that man had already surpassed his limits prior to that stunt, and yet... for whatever reason, he refused to die. In the blink of an eye, that simple encounter became more important than life and death to him. He demanded power and, from the bowels of his soul, a small reply must have echoed... Too small to be heard. Foolishness.

The currents reversed not long after. All that focus; a mass of Lyth condensed enough to end a small city danced at his finger tips. It was eerily satisfying to watch as the small miraculous light drained every last drop of life from his paling body, all for naught. When the eyes of that brazen mage widened, that's when the long-overdue effect was clear. He was not nearly prepared enough to perform those stunts; his technique resembled an infant juggling knives. Death was the only natural result of his wistful thinking. Yet what he gained was so much more final. The very definition of end.

    "... Bahahahaha!"
The magus' wide-eyed expression betrayed his failure. He was no longer amongst the living. Only his body remained, and even that briefly, as his hazy eyes seemed to peer into the distant sky like they hoped to find an explanation.

"Idiot. Was suicide the answer you hoped for? Or did your amateurish fingers twitched and went for the wrong spell?"
Ludwig could sense a plethora of unnatural emotions in himself. Disdain. Amusement. Interest. But more than any of that, he felt clear-headed. That lowly illusionist flaunting his parlor tricks died to non existent effort, and despite it he looked far too familiar. The crimson man was irritated. This was not a fitting end at all.

"But will you truly end, I wonder..." he voiced over his shoulder, seeming to banish his flames to the wind. "Your kind of irritants never quite do.
A last smirk to send him off and Ludwig started for the opposite direction; straight for the restart he was so terribly accustomed to.

    He was not prepared.
    And yet...

    He knew Akala.

A small light pierced the clouds and, before the sun could truly reclaim the battlefield, he had faded.
Like the memory of the village that once was.

A Fated Prelude Empty Re: A Fated Prelude

Post by Chaotic Rumble 21st September 2015, 12:22 pm

Ayeseru sighed, only to realize, he couldn't.  He tried opening his eyes, only to realize they were already adjusting to the darkness around him.  He tried to move his body, only to realize...  He no longer had one.  At this point, Ayeseru couldn't even be classified as race, male, female, or anything; he was a shadow, floating over...  What was he floating over, actually?  Even though it, because Ayeseru is only an existence at this point, didn't have a head to turn, Ayeseru could see everything.

What it appeared to be were countless, blue streams, with bright, circular lights everywhere.  Why was Ayeseru there?  Wait a moment, who is Ayeseru, even?  What was anything?  The only thing that the shadow knew was this - it existed.  Why did it exist, though?  What was it doing swimming in a blue stream with bright lights surrounding it?  The shadow that was floating itself did not know any of these answers, or anything at all, for that matter.

Then, the shadow knew something completely new to it - a feeling.  It only just...  Felt something.  It didn't know what it felt, but it knew that it felt something.  The purpose?  The shadow wasn't sure about that, either, but it was the first time ever since it suddenly came to being in the strange realm it floated upon that it knew something.  Lightness continued to build around the shadow as it appeared to be elevated to a different lake of blue, and would now gently float across the shining lights.

The shadow, as it was floating across this area, came across a very peculiar light.  From the outside, it could only see...  A figure.  The closer it looked into the light, he learned that the figure was a woman.  What stood out, however, was not the woman, but the sword that she possessed, a sword that the shadow somehow...  Managed to recognize.  Recognize isn't quite the appropriate word, but rather, the sword looked familiar to it.  This sword is familiar.  I want to know more!

The shadow proceeded to enter the shining light, and suddenly saw things from the prospective of...  A young girl?  She was in a castle, but...  That's all the shadow could actually see before the environment around him began changing, and the body he was in rapidly aging.  The shadow was filled with the knowledge of a life it never knew, yet, somehow, during those moments, knew it perfectly well.

When the vision of the bright light ended, the shadow was suddenly in the river of blue with the bright lights surrounding the entire area, and suddenly, it knew the story of a life.  It didn't understand any of it, but, alas, it knew the woman with the sword's life.

The initial feeling that the existence had at first was now growing stronger and stronger; he could always feel it growing and growing, but, why was the feeling getting stronger?  What did it represent?  Furthermore, the existence's view of his current surroundings began fading, even if slowly.  Why was it fading?  What was happening?  Its mind was rushing with many images and information it couldn't even understand, or comprehend, or know why it was seeing them in the first place; the mind kept on recieving more and more information as the feeling grew and vision kept on fading.

    It was dark.

When everything ends, there is always a new beginning

The existence could still see, but it was no longer as bright or as colourful as before.  Instead, all it could see was...  Darkness.  No, no...  It wasn't darkness, but...  Shadows..?  The area that the existence was in was more made purely out of shadows, completely empty aside from them.  The entity wasn't sure what to expect, or why it was there, like most cases.

It continued to float across this new realm, but didn't appear to find anything.  All it could see was the dark shadows all over the place, which, did in fact, have some familiarity, but it couldn't quite piece together where exactly it came from.  In fact, it kept on staring at the shadows, while thinking about the life it knew.  It was trying to comprehend it, but, it could not, along with all other bits of information that was zurged into its mind.

Suddenly...  It vanished.  Completely.  It was nearly clueless once more, however, an interesting...  Figure...  Appeared before the existence.  It had no colour to it, but was humanoid in shape, and completely made out of the dark shadows that composed the world the existence was in.  It simply stared at the existence.  "A strong heart," it said.  What was it talking about?  Was it talking about the existence?

It almost had to be, right?  There was no one around; it made sure to look around its environment to be certain, and, yes, it was only the two present, leading to a belief that it was speaking to the existence.  Still, the existence was just as confused.  What was it talking about?  What strong heart?  "Come on, you're not meant to die just yet. Do you concede? Condemn your subjects into chaos and death?"

What did that mean?  What on Earth was it talking about?  The existence was dead?  But it was right there; or was it on the brink of death?  The existence could not comprehend why it was speaking to him, what it was saying, or what it meant, however, something it could comprehend was the fact that the shadow of the existence...  Was taking form.  Despite not knowing it, its shadow was taking form to look very similarly to the woman whose life it had seen.  The body was still absent, however.

"Come on, rise. I won't have you die in such a sorry state."  While the existence couldn't understand anything else, this was something it could understand.  The way the existence took this sentence was as though that the...  The Shadow, as it would title it, was trying to save it from death.  There was something that was going to kill it!  But, what was so bad about that?  Regardless, it did not question this very sentence.

A body took form, to fill the exact shape of the existence's shadow, and it didn't even realize it, but it did feel something new.  It didn't know it, but, as light began filling its vision once more, it gave a look of...  Sadness, towards The Shadow, reaching out its new arm towards it, before being completely engulfed by the light...

    Seru,
    That is my name.
    I must know,
    I must...

    A Fated Prelude Re-lived

In the center of what was previously a crimson massacre, and a huge hole in the ground, was now filled with grass and earth.  Nothing of the village remained, but, instead, in the center, was a girl.  A girl who would experience life again, yet, truly, for the first time.

Next to her, rested the blade Excalibur and around her were lilies; enough lilies to cover the entire village, where it once stood.  Some broken blades and daggers were nearby, and, a single lily would rest on her right eye.  She was asleep, completely helpless.  Her hands clad in armored gloves would rest on top of each other on the upper half of her stomach, as she would lay on the earth, on her back.

    She was waking up.
