Ivy's Secondary Magic Training [private]

Ivy was asleep in the woods. Her dreams were normally nice and all, but she was now having a serious nightmare. Ivy lay against a tree, tossing and turning. Inside this dream she was in a realm, it was a desolate wasteland except for some broken down trains that were off the track, and a city that was off in the distance. (Basically The Almaverse) The sky was blood red and everything was broken up, buildings, windows, etc. Ivy didn't know what was up, all she knew was that this place was terrifying her, and honestly Ivy didn't know why.

Ivy traveled to the town, and there she saw a girl turned around. The girl had a red and black aura, and it was completely strange. She apparently was the only person there, and when Ivy tapped the girl on the shoulder, she began to turn around and scream at the top of her lungs, and now Ivy realized something. The girl looked exactly like Ivy herself, except for the aura of red and black and her eyes were glowing gold. All of a sudden, the girl dissapeared, and Ivy was alone.

Ivy awoke with a scream, and it was extremely loud. Her eyes were glowing gold now and she had a red and black aura to herself, which Ivy herself didn't know. She began running through the forest as if in terror, looking at the animals like they were evil or something of the sort. She crashed into someone, and began looking up at them in fear, shielding herself as her hands begin surrounding in red light.

Ivy looked around, and it was now clear that she wasn't alone. There were demons all over the place, and they terrified Ivy. Although this was strange, ivy wanted to kill these things. She tried using her Sky magic, yet it didn't work. Then she resorted to another tactic.

RUNNING LIKE HELL.

Ivy ran for her life, bobbing and weaving over rubble and fallen structures, and looking aside at more and more of those demons and found one more, whom she crashed straight into. Ivy began to panic, for she couldn't do anything until her hands started glowing red, and she started feeling something she has never felt before.

Wolfe spent almost all his free time either in the guild hall reading and eating, or zapping around Fiore in lightning form across the skies seeing new areas and finding cool new things. This day he was doing the latter and he had made his way somewhere near the spooky forest. Most of the time he wasn't even sure where he was heading and why, he just let the wind lead the way. Most of his life he followed the wind and now was no different, only difference now was he had a home to come to back to.

As he was zapping along the sky he started to pass over the spooky forest. He didn't know much about the area, only that for a year or so when he was younger he had lived in the outskirts of it. However, in his time there he never really saw anyone of anything for the most part. Today it seemed was going to be no different, but then he saw it. As he passed over the forest he saw a shimmer of something and what he thought was was a person, but he was going too fast and had to turn around and look again. However, this time he couldn't find it again, so he landed down in the forest in an area close to where he thought he had seen it.

Wolfe started to make his way through the woods when he heard it. A scream. These woods weren't spooky, but they did make it hard to find anything in. As he started in the direction in which he thought he heard the scream he kept looking around. The at the last second he heard a branch break behind him and turned around to see a little girl staring at him. It took a second but it was Ivy, but she looked different and she seemed to be freaking out. He went to reach out to grab her to see if she was ok but then she started to cower down and hold her hands over her face like she was scared and her hands were cover in a red glow and her whole body was glowing red and black with a aura around it. Wolfe got a quick glimpse of her eyes and they too were glowing with a gold tint. Wolfe's eye also had a glow to them but he knew this was not normal for others and he became concerned. Wolfe reached a little further out and lightly grabbed Ivy just under her shoulder on both arms and tried to call out to her "Ivy!! its Wolfe!! calm down and look at me..." the last part of his sentence a little softer then the first.

Ivy went from panic to utter "GTFO THIS MOTHAF*CKAS GONNA KILL ME" when the demon touched her. It had a look on its face, a look of hatred, disgust, yet it also looked pleased. As pleased as torturing a young girl with fear can get you. Ivy looked away, beginning to fear the worst until she heard it speak. It sounded familiar, a voice she recognized upon saying it was Wolfe's. Ivy calmed for a second until she looked up at him, seeing the demon which just tried to deceive her by pretending to sound like someone she knew. Ivy's hands, which temporarily lost their red glow, now regained said aura and Ivy screamed in anger, grabbing his wrists and decimating the demon entirely. What she now saw standing perfectly in the demon's place was Wolfe himself, which was odd in Ivy's eyes. She slowly went backwards, dragging herself in both awe and disbelief that he was indeed, here.

Ivy moved her arms away from her face, and she clearly showed signs of calming down. Her black and red aura didn't dissipate, and her eyes remained gold, but she was fine altogether. Suddenly she tensed up, in fear of Wolfe in front of her. She grabbed his wrists and surrounded him in red light, and then began to back off.

Ivy was beginning to catch her breath and looks at Wolfe with a slight glimpse of Hope. She looks around until returning her gaze to him. She began to speak, and her voice was different. This, much like the red and black aura that surrounds her, she didn't notice at all. The voice in her mind was normal, but to others it had a god-like aspect to it. It echoed, sounded mystical. Like a Great Fairy from LoZ, if you know that. "W-Wolfe...? What are you-?" She was cut off, as another demon emerged from an alley from between two broken-down buildings. It charged at Wolfe, but Ivy raised her hands and a jolt of what looked like lightning shot at it, and instantly the demon dissipated. Ivy had no idea how this was done, and she just sat there looking at her glowing hands, with a face of both terror and confusion.

Wolfe watched as Ivy started to calm down then it was gone and she was freaking out again. As she grabbed his arms the world was gone now too. Wolfe looked around as he was trying to take in the area. The trees where gone and in their place was wasteland, and in the distance a wasted city in shambles. As he looked around he saw the trains near them that were off the tracks and everything here was in disarray and in some form of decomposition. It truly was the definition of a wasteland. What made Wolfe worry even more was the lingering feeling of fear in the air and all around him. The skies were crimson and the place almost seemed like a scene out of child's or even for that matter a adult's worst nightmare.

Wolfe was pulled back into the moment as he heard Ivy speak for a second but her voice was odd and had a sense of Majesty to if, but also mystical at the same time. She only got a few words out before she seemed to cut herself off and Wolfe saw her look over to the side. As he did he only caught the last second of what looked like lightning hit what he thought looked like a demon and then it was gone. Wolfe looked back down at Ivy "Ivy... were are we? what is this? and are you ok?...." Wolfe was confused and very concerned for Ivy at this point.

"I'm... I'm okay..." Ivy said, obviously unsure if the answer she gave was right or wrong. Ivy looked around, she had dreams.... Nightmares... about this place before, but she never got a full name to the place. "I-I dunno where we are... I thought I was dreaming..." Ivy couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched, but she couldn't locate where from.

Ivy put her hands on her head, as if she had a headache she had to slowly recover from. She sat down on the bare ground and put her hands there as well, and the floor began to glow gold. Ivy now ran away, towards Wolfe, hoping he had some solution to this. She watched as something which looked like a zombie emerge from it. Although as it climbed out of the hole in the ground it was clear it wasn't just coming from another universe. It materialized, as if it was being made by Ivy herself. The zombie began walking towards Ivy and Wolfe, carrying a hatchet in its hands. This zombie would throw the hatchet, barely landing beyond Ivy's foot. It missed, but barely. Ivy felt somehow angered, as if this thing should not be attacking her, as if it should be attacking someone else... Like it should obey her...

Ivy looked up at Wolfe, actually losing her regular cheery demeanor. Now it took a LOT to do that, to make her mad. It took a lot MORE to even make her scared, unless it was one of her basic fears. This place did both, and she wanted out of this place. Immediately. "Wolfe I wanna go... I wanna leave RIGHT NOW!!!" Ivy didn't mean any anger towards Wolfe, or she didn't mean to yell entirely. This place had an affect on her emotions, as the simplest of anger in her mind could propel outward as a very harsh anger when projected.

Wolfe watched as Ivy was obviously freaking out still, but Wolfe wasn't sure how to help her. He watch as she sat down and then freaked out again and got up quickly and ran to him and from where she sat a gold glow happened and then a zombie came from from it. Wolfe was really starting to question exactly what was going on now. He saw as it went to throw a hatchet at Ivy but barely missed. Wolfe looked down at Ivy who was talking to him then she yelled a little. Wolfe could tell it wasn't aimed at him and he wished he could do something for her.

Wolfe placed his hands on her shoulders for a second and nodded at her as he walked away from her and to the zombie. He grabbed it by its neck with his right hand and with his left he grabbed under it's jaw and ripped up and tore the head from it's neck and tossed both to the ground. He then turned and walked back to Ivy and kneeled down next to her as he spoke "Ivy, i am not sure where we are or how we got here. However, i can tell you this.... i didn't appear here till you grabbed me with the red glow around your hands... do you know what could have caused that? or this?" Wolfe took a quick glance around before he brought his attention back to Ivy. He knew this must be hard on her and he was concerned.

Ivy shook her head. She didn't know what caused this place or the glow around her hands, or how Wolfe got here. All she knew was that he was here, and that from the looks of it Ivy couldn't find a way out. "No... I don't! I just was asleep and I was in this place! That's it!" Ivy then looked shocked for a moment, as if she didn't understand what Wolfe said and a lightbulb went over her head.

"You said I grabbed you.... What do you mean? You were never here..." Ivy was asleep. She never grabbed Wolfe for all she knew, and she never moved. All she remembered was a bad dream that Wolfe appeared in, then it became more real than nightmare. Ivy put her hands to her head, and she began looking around. Another demon charged towards the two, and Ivy just got up obviously angered. "GO AWAY!!!" she yelled and the demon instantly backed down. It looked scared of Ivy, and it went back into the shadows before it bursted with a gold light. Ivy wanted to know what was going on, but frankly couldn't. This was all knew, and she though that the mimic of herself was the culprit for it. Sadly however, that mimic vanished and Ivy had no idea where it was. Ivy wanted to tell Wolfe about that clone, but she didn't know how to, and it could have just been apart of the dream she was having. Ivy couldn't piece together fact from fiction, and this place was giving her quite the headache.

Wolfe was confused but at the same time he wasn't. He could piece together an idea, but it didn't make a lot of sense. However, at the same time it was the only idea he could come up with. He closed his eyes for a second to clear out the mess in his head and clear his mind. When he gave it any real thought the pieces all fell into place, but he was still confused. The only thing that worked was Ivy was going this, and somehow she had drug both himself and her into another place. She spoke like she had seen this place before, and mentioned being asleep. Did that mean this was a dream? or maybe a dream scape of some sort?

Wolfe opened his eyes and took another second to really look around this time. He was actually taking in the area and noting everything. It was at this moment another demon showed up and as it came closer Ivy yelled at it, and it stopped and went away. This only made his theory make more sense. Somehow, this was all her doing, and this world was her's..... there was no other reason a demon would listen to her. Also the sleep thing made a bit more sense now, because she would be in her subconscious and her sudden shifts in mood would make more sense as she wouldn't have a kind of censor to stop it. That just opened up even more question to Wolfe though.

Wolfe remembered she had wind magic, so this was way out of her realm. Could this be a new manifestation of powers? He wasn't sure what to make of it, but he needed her focused and answering questions. Wolfe open again lowered himself so his face was on level with her's as he spoke "Ivy...you said you were asleep? do you know this place? i might have a small idea on what id going on... however, it is really far fetched but i need you to focus and tell me what you remember and what you know." Wolfe was going to try and help her no matter what it took, but he needed answers to get started.

Ivy nodded as she heard Wolfe. He would help her, and that is what Ivy needed most at the time. She began recalling everything that happened up until Wolfe appeared, and any other time she had been in this "realm" before. After a minute of gathering her thoughts Ivy nodded and began to speak.

"Okay so... I've had dreams about this place before. No one else was here but me, and it was always super scary without really having anything scary in it! But today was weird... I walked around and saw a girl that looked just like me! Except she had Glowy gold eyes and this weird red and black stuff around her... Probably magic. When I wanted to see what was up she started screaming at me, then she vanished. Then all these demons appeared and I ran, then bumped into one. It was about to kill me but then my hands began glowing and I grabbed it, then it blew up and there you were! Does this mean anything? What do I have to do to get out of here!?" Ivy's story didn't make as much sense to her now as it would any other time. Ivy, despite being a child is actually really smart, and can figure out things really well. This would be easy as pie if she pieced 2 and 2 together, but it was this dreaded place. It couldn't let her think well, it clouded her thoughts with fear. Lost her reasoning and she just wanted to be impulsive, and the first thought was to get out of here, nothing else.

As Wolfe listened it all made sense, except for the part where she dragged them both into a dream world. As she explained the scary part, the word nightmare came to mind. As he continued to listen all the pieces were there, and when she mentioned the other version of her which is the one he had seen in the real world. It almost seemed like this world of hers could rip and blend aspect of both worlds, first in seeing herself the way she had been in the real world and also in the fact that she had seen him but as a demon till she "pulled him in". Wolfe was trying to put it all together except one thing kept coming to mind, and it was the big question.....How?....

Wolfe put his face close enough to hers so she could focus on just him "Shhhhh... Ivy, just focus on me for a few... let the bad flow away and focus on me. You know i wont hurt you so i am obviously a friend. So focus on that good thing first..." Wolfe gave her a few seconds to calm down a little before he continued "Ivy... this is YOUR world... or at least you control it in some regard.... i don't know how but your connected to it. It makes sense, and demon backing off when you yelled at it, you being able to just destroy them with single blast of energy.... the reason they are coming and focusing on you is because you are powerful here... think of it as a dream... in your dream you are your god of your world..... except this is more like a nightmare.....if you can focus and stop being scared, and control your emotions i think you might be able to pull us out. butt that is just a theory. You saw me before you pulled me here... but your sleeping brain didn't know if i was friend of foe, so i looked like a demon till you knew who i was, till you knew i wouldn't hurt you.... and the other you that you saw... that is exactly what you looked like in the real world before you grabbed me... the gold eyes and glowing hands.... somehow, someway.... there is a rip here that allows perception of the real world. you just need to learn how your connected her." Wolfe didn't think it would be easy for her, and he didn't mean to make it sound like he thought it was. However, if this was her dream and her world, then oonly she could do anything about it.

Ivy calmed herself a little. The fear of this realm had taken a toll on her, but it also seemed like her own fear was the fuel for this place. Ivy listened as Wolfe started explaining the entire thing, muttering to herself a little. "My... World...?" Ivy then began to realize what Wolfe was saying was true. It was her world, and she was the goddess of it. Nothing could harm he unless she wanted it to, and that was their downfall. This realm was hers, and hers alone. But she didn't understand the whole "link between worlds" thing, but Ivy still just decided what the hell.

"I can do whatever I want.... And this is my world. Nothing can hurt me, and I can do what I want. Well I wanna GET OUT!!!" Ivy's entire body began glowing red and black, but not so much as she was controlling her magic as it was the magic was controlling her. Ivy didn't really know what was going on, her anger just overwelmed her. The world around them began to break apart as if it were a puzzle, and there was a large spreading gold light coming from the center of the town, as if a nuke had been set off. As the world finished breaking apart there was 3 seconds of all white, and then the world around them reformed. The trees around the two were stained red, and there were dead wildlife, right where all of the demons had exploded.

"Wolfe...?" she said questionably, looking at her hands and body. She was still glowing all red and black, and while she couldn't see it her eyes were still all gold and glowing. Ivy felt the power she temporarily did when she "dragged" Wolfe into the fear realm, but now felt as if it were at her disposal. How to use this, she didn't know at all, although Ivy knew once she learned how to use this she will have her own world to mold, and make it better than the world around her. Ivy will be a goddess, and she will have that power. But first she needed someone to help her master it, and while Wolfe didn't have the power he was a mage who learned magic, and he apparently knew a lot or at least could figure out things really fast. Ivy settled it, and would ask. "Wolfe can you help me? I wanna make sure I know this, to make sure I can control it. The world in there was scary and freaky, but you said I have power there, and that nothing can hurt me! I want you to help me with this so I can master it. Can you?" Ivy only now realized that her voice returned to normal, as it wasn't its Godly Majestic Voice as it was before.

Wolfe watched as she seemed to grasp the idea and in doing so gained some control of both herself and of this world of her's'. Wolfe saw she began to glow again, but this time it seems more normal, and less chaotic in it's presence. She might or might not be in control, but for once, it was happening because she realized it and desired it. He looked around as the world started to break away and give way. Moments later they were trapped in a world of pure white, and then seconds later they were back where they had started, in the forest. Wolfe took a look around, and all seemed right, butt when he turned back to her she was still glowing and the golden glow to her eyes was back too. However, just like he could tell just before the world had broken apart, this time it seemed more natural and less malicious in it's nature.

Wolfe heard Ivy's plea for help in helping her control this power. Wolfe wasn't sure if he could help her, but he would try. He wasn't sure what this power was, but he knew better then just about anyone about a magic that controlled you, and he wouldn't let a magic control anyone else the way his controlled him.

Wolfe got down on one knee and looked Ivy right in the eyes "Yes, yes i will help you. I will never let another person be controlled by their magic, so i will help you to the best i can. i am not sure what to make of it.... but let start with the basics...You can use magic so i have to assume you learned somehow right? lets start with learning to control and harness the powers, by turning them on and off. By looking at you i don't think you know how to yet.... so lets just work on that first" Wolfe got up and took a step back to give her a little room to work with.

Ivy listened to her newly proclaimed master. She was to learn to control the magic before she could learn how to do spells. She focused and focused, trying to turn the red and black glow off of herself, highly unsuccessful. She realized that this glow was made from her own fear, but she didn't know what it was a fear of! This never happened when there was a thunderstorm, when she punted a creepy doll or when she went to recieve a vaccine. No, she just dealt with it. Maybe it was anger? Anger at the world for being not in her own image, or anger for it being as it was? Maybe it was fear of the world, that everyone targets her... That everyone and everything is a demon in comparison to Ivy, and that they were no more than beasts waiting to revolt against a goddess. That the world was rotting if Ivy was the only person able to see how they were. Ivy was beginning to fear how the world would become in the future....

As Ivy began to make peace with this thought, she began to relax. She now knew what that fear zone was. It was earth, in her own eyes. The beings were humans, just as they are in their core. Ivy knew all this, that's why she wasn't one of then. As Ivy began relaxing, the glow around her body and her eye color went back to normal. She now had a strange brand-like mark on the back of her left hand (opposite the palm) and it glowed red. Ivy began to think. Now that she had found out the way to get the glow off of herself, how would she bring it back on? She began focusing..... Maybe she was to do the opposite? She started to remember how she actually hated the world as it was, and she feared how it would become in the future. This was the opposite of peace in her mind, it was chaos. Recognizing her faults brought the peace, but recognizing what brought the faults was what brought chaos. This was how she turned off and on her magic, and just as expected the black and red glow returned to her body as she continued thinking.

"Wolfe I uh... I think I got it! I dunno how to do anything but I'm sure I know how to turn it on and off... So what now?" Ivy nodded as she looked at her hand. The brand was jet black now, as opposed to its redness earlier.

Wolfe watched as Ivy worked on turning off her magic. After some time it seemed like she might have the basics of it down. Wolfe just watched as he folded his legs and took a seat on the ground "Well lets take a look at this.... as it is, i would have to assume you can control the world you created but it seems while there your feelings control, you not the other way around. You sounded scared... like you couldn't control your fear... so lets start there.... you need to learn to control our feelings, and since fear seemed to be the obvious issue, lets start there..... what are you afraid of? maybe if was can make you confront a fear, it will help you be able to better control yourself, and in turn this power." Wolfe waited to hear what Ivy might have to say.

Ivy kicked her feet and looked at the ground. Ivy knew what she feared, she just didn't know if she wanted to actually tell someone else it. It seemed pretty stupid at first, until Ivy began to break it down a bit further. If she were to confront a fear it will help her overcome it, which will lead to her controlling her fear she can control the world based around fear. But that's where it fell apart. If the world was based on fear itself how would losing fear work with it? Ivy knew this was moreso a self-control excersize but the thought of it was pretty silly.

Ivy took another minute, then said to Wolfe. "I really don't like needles, and lightning, and dolls. Those are the things that are the most scary to me..." Ivy turned her head away from Wolfe, and watched the grass and plants blow through the wind. Ivy didn't feel comfortable telling others her fears, because it shows weakness to her. Weakness that wouldn't really be tolerated if she were within the guild halls, because if she is so easily scared by things like a simple doll why should she be in one of the most powerful dark guilds in all of Fiore? It didn't make sense, yes, but Ivy decided she had to make sacrifices for the greater half. And by greater half she means the ability to use and master this other form and ability, so that way when the time comes she can wreak havoc with it.

Wolfe listened as she reluctantly told him her fears.He understood completely that she would not want tell others her fears. Most people didn't want to admit their fears to themselves let alone to someone else. However, in this case it had a purpose and it was needed. It seemed they had lucked out, as 2 of the fears he couldn't do shit about, but one of them he had in spades. Wolfe took a deep breath before he spoke "Ok Ivy, 2 out of those i can't do much with but i can help with one. No understand... the goal here is not to overcome your fear... its to control it and harness it. Ok?" Wolfe wanted to make sure she understood and was ready. She was about to face her fears, and this was no easy undertaking for anyone.

Wolfe smiled at her to help reassure her "I will let you in on a secret.... something i have never told anyone else. If this works... you will end up most likely making me face my worst fear... my father. i know its hard to admit your fears, but just be strong and you will be fine." Wolfe waited till Ivy let him know she was truly ready. As he did his thoughts drifted to his father. His fear wasn't his father exactly, but more the idea of having to confront him. That was a dark path, and one her wasn't sure he would be able to come back from it if he found himself down it. His only driving goal for so long was to find and kill his father he wasn't sure that he knew how to function without that hate.

Ivy began to shutter once she heard Wolfe say that he got one down. She didn't know which fear he had, and honestly she didn't want to even ask because that risked her backing down. Ivy, assuring that she wouldn't react that bad unsheathed her sword and stuck it in the ground. "Maybe I should get rid of this..." Ivy said with a nervous chuckle. She backed up a bit and nodded her head, after listening to what he said about his father. Had Ivy really the power to make people's fears a reality? That would be crazy, because all she saw so far was that there were demons and a bit of red energy come from her hands. However she didn't know the full extent of her power, for she hadn't even mastered it.

Ivy took a deep breath, preparing for the worst. She had lowered her magic so that she wouldn't flail and use it randomly, and that she wouldn't threaten the nature around her as well as Wolfe. The forest was already stained bloody, there need not be a ton of broken trees and even more blood on Ivy's hands, although she didn't really care normally. Ivy prefers creating catastrophes on her own will, not from random bugging out. This would be an experience she hopefully wouldn't forget.... Or maybe she would want to forget but Ivy had an end goal in mind, so she wanted to endure it. Plus if she did do something rash Wolfe was a wizard, she couldn't do that much damage.

Wolfe leaned over and pulled her sword out of the ground and moved it right behind him and stuck into the ground. It wasn't that he was afraid, but better safe then sorry. He then motioned for her to sit across from him like he was with her legs crossed and sitting in a comfortable manor. He took a deep breath and then another one, as he knew this was going to be very interesting. When people were forced to confront their fears, each acted very differently.

He then slowly brought his hand up and held it out palm up. He then slowly made little sparks erupt from his hand. they were very tiny as first then they slowly got to about an inch in height and length as they moved around his hand "I use lightning magic.... so i guess it is a good thing i never used it in front of you yet." Wolfe was making sure to be very light on the lightning in his hands, he didn't want to scare her too bad. He needed her to stay calm for this so he get bigger. He knew this was hard for her, but he believed she could handle it. Even though Ivy was young, she was already a mage, and that meant she was determined. Wolfe would try and help her an any way he could, so long as she was willing to try. A slightly foreign concept to him, but he was trying to be better then his own youth. If it was him, he would want the help too.

Ivy tensed up once she saw the sparks. She was trying immensly hard to avoid throwing a bit of her magic at Wolfe, and it was bringing her to her limits. Ivy was not going to run away like a baby, that wasn't how she responded to fear. Ivy's basic response to fear was to attack the cause of that fear, and get it away from her. This wasn't the case in the fear zone, but it was with anything else. "H-How is this supposed to help me!!?" Ivy didn't like this, not one bit. It wasn't that bad, because he had only used a little bit of magic at one time, but Ivy still didn't like it and fear was bottling up within her. Lightning magic, and this was a person she had spoken with on a few different occasions. How could she not have seen or found out his magic? It wasn't the problem, the lightning was. It was supposed to help her overcome her fear or something like that, so that way the fear zone didn't paralyze her with fear like it had before. It was reasonable, and Ivy knew it. The child mage was just one who didn't like much stuff happening that caused her to freak out. Who would? With this thought Ivy took a deep breath, and sat there calmly. She wasn't going to freak out, and she wasn't going to attack him. Ivy was good... She was good. Luckily the sword had been away, because if it hadn't been for that the second thought other than to use her magic would be to draw that sword.

Wolfe could tell very quickly that this was getting to her, but he didn't let up. She needed to be able to control the fear, not be controlled by it. If she could get this down that she should be able to turn the effects off and on, and also direct them as well. Wolfe explained to her "I know confronting a fear it something that most people go their whole life avoiding, but in your case it is not and option. Whatever you have there seemed to be controlled, it not at least activated by it. You need to learn how to control and direct your fear. Fear is a good thing, as it keeps us alive, and keeps s on our toes. Magic like many things is tied to emotions and feelings. My guess here, and keep in mind it is only a guess.... is that fear controls both the user and target. To activate it, you might have to embrace and remember the feeling of fear you felt. Controlling that fear might tie to how well you can aim it, and maybe even the intensity of the effect itself.... the problem is these are all educated guesses at best. I wish i had more for you, but that makes the most sense." Wolfe would give her a few more moments to think about what he had said before he would continue. However, he knew this could go either way. Dealing with one's fears was scary as hell, but having right here in front of you in physical form was a whole other story all together.

As Wolfe spoke, Ivy closed her eyes, and relaxed. She knew that freaking out would get her nowhere, and that this would just make it an obstacle even further. She sighed, and then reopened her eyes actually calm.

She was terrified, don't get that wrong however. Ivy's fear of lightning and thunder was her second-highest, and that just kinda shoved it in her face like that.

Ivy continued to stay calm however, looking at the lightning within Wolfe's grasp and not freaking out, looking more intruiged with it than terrified, even though it was the exact opposite. "So... What do I do now?" Ivy said with a bit of a quiver in her voice, but not much. She wanted to get through this fast, because the faster she learned how to use this the faster she could train with it on her own, so she started to rush Wolfe subconsciously, not really realizing it. It wasn't intentional, nor was she trying to be rude. Ivy just wanted to get something done, and get it done efficiently and quickly to test the product out, like making a computer or cooking something to eat. The lightning did scare her but she did achieve what Wolfe told her to do, the act of being calm and controlling this fear to not an outright burst of "kill everything, ask questions later." So now she was ready to go to step 2... Or whatever step the two were on, and get closer to the endgame.

Wolfe watched as she was keeping her calm and this was great. Wolfe took a deep breath and started to cause the ball of lightning hi hand t get bigger and bigger till it was about the size of a grapefruit. He then stopped it there as that should be good enough to get the intended job done. Wolfe looked as Ivy "Ok Ivy, this what i need to you do... get a good look at this and then close your eyes. Then i want you to picture this ball and think about the fear you feel when your looking at it." Wolfe gave her a few moments to follow his instructions before he continued "Ok now... i want you to now keep thinking about the fear you feel, and memorize that feeling. after you have done that.... remove the image of the ball from what you see and focus on the feeling. Then try to focus your magic energy to that same spot you feel the fear. Now think like you do when you cast a spell and try to project that fear and energy outwards." In truth even if she got it the first time it wouldn't work right as she would need time time try and focus on the feeling itself. It would be the trigger to activate this power, and he knew that.

Wolfe sat there patiently as he waited to see if she could do it, and if not try to help her to focus on the feeling of fear rather then the fear itself.

Ivy took a deep "fear breath" through the nose when the ball of lightning increased in size, and yet and still she did as she was told, and closed her eyes and focused on the lightning in her head. It was nothing she could tell why she was afraid of, but instead she just focused on the lightning, which brought the feeling of fear, so she in term focused on the fear. Ivy was then told to remove the image of the lightning ball, so she did. Then she remembered the little zone that she was in, and the feeling of being scared all the time, that was the same thing that this ball of lightning brought. Now she had to cast a spell, using that feeling? That didn't make sense, but he was the boss porsay. Ivy pooled her magic into that one area, the area of her soul, her mind, that produced the phobia. She continued focusing, as though she were going to cast another spell. It was much harder, as she had no practice with this and it was completely new to this type of magic, and it was just a little something she wanted to learn to make herself stronger, but she knew the drawback to this would be immense.

What Ivy didn't know or see was that in the palm of her hand, a blood-red bolt of what looks like electricity - no plasma - was in her hands, bouncing around like it was getting ready to be thrown. It was the same thing she used earlier, a weak spell that she used to disintegrate that demon, one that she didn't know how to do at all. She just focused on that and that alone, the spell that she was now doing.

Wolfe watched patiently as Ivy focused ad did just as he had told her to do. He could see she was trying very hard to try and d it exactly as he has said. He knew it would take a while and a lot of practice, but if she could do this, he was sure it was the easiest way to unlock her new powers. If they were fear based, then controlling fear only made sense to Wolfe, and confronting your fears and then projecting them towards her target. A lot of magic from what he read was about the same basic concept, but he didn't know. In truth this was new to him as well. He didn't really know magic. His magic was raw power and magical energy surging through his body, and it was not of his own doing.

As his train of thought was going everywhere but then he saw it happen. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the same red glow, and he snapped himself back into the here and now, and looked down at her hands. They were covered in the same red glow as last time, but this time it was different, it seemed more refined. Wolfe spoke out to Ivy "Ivy, open your eyes and look at your hands." Wolfe waited to see what she had to say. If this was it, they needed a way to test it, and even though Wolfe's fears weren't as simple as other's and hit closer t his heart, he was willing to let her try on him if she needed.

Ivy did as she was told, and opened her eyes. She now looked at the red glowing energy in her hand, the plasma that disintigrated that demon from before... or whatever that demon was in the real world. She wondered... did it have the same effect on actual things rather than things that she created? It was pure magic power that she created, Ivy knew that. But the effects that it would have on an actual person was not known to her yet. "Uhm... I did it?" Ivy said with a nervous chuckle, and spotted a deer a few meters ahead. "I wanna test it! imma hit that deer!" she jumped up with enthusiasm, and tried to focus her magic power as she did with using a wind spell. Of course this would be so much different than a wind spell, but either way it is still the same method of casting, or so she hoped.

Ivy focused the magic power in the palm of her hand, and focused on pushing it outward to attack that deer. She didn't know how such an idea worked, but that was how she casted every other one of her spells. Ivy closed her eyes, and focused, and Ivy whipped her hand forward, with her palm open. The bolt of plasma surged forward, and struck the deer in its side, and it fell on its side, but soon recovered. It had a red mark where it was hit, and then the deer began frantically running away, like it was being chased by something. It didn't look towards Ivy or Wolfe, it was focused on getting away from whatever was chasing it.
