Get that Chicken (Job)

To be honest she was quite frightened, even though she had transformed, the giant chicken just around the corner was quite scary. It was her cowardice that landed her in this position, she had been too afraid to just grab the thing and bring it back to its pen, but she had a reason, as the beak looked quite ready to stab someone.

Although, as she was doubting in the darkness, a light of inspiration came to her. She could make cake and crumble it so she can make a trail of cake crumbs. Chickens likes any sort of bread crumbs, right? Although, her plan would involve getting close to the chicken, which was quite the frightening endeavor. Calling upon the Novian magic within her, she produced a round cake from her gem, it wasn't iced or decorated, as she only needed it for her crumbs. It didn't have any special flavors either, as she had no idea if they would repel the chickens, so vanilla was the best option available to her right now.

Gathering as much courage as possible for her, she opened her eyes wide and walked calmly around the corner, where the giant chicken was pecking at the ground somewhere. She stepped on a twig and it snapped, alerting the giant mammal of her location. It stared at her- no, probably the food in her hand. Its eyes glazed over as it turned its head to follow Bell's movements. She tried not to make and sudden movements that would end up with a beak through her chest.

Now she was standing frigthfully between the chicken and the fence, quite the compromising position actually, as she required the chicken to pass right by her in order for her to bring the chicken into the large coop like required for the job. She considered the safest way to handle this, maybe she didn't have to make a trail of crumbs, but just throw the cake into the giant fenced off area.

That seemed to be the safest thing to do, so that's exactly what she did. Her aim wasn't the best, but she was quite proud of herself when the cake landed in the pen. Now all she had to do was hope that maybe the chicken was hungry.

Unfortunately, when the chicken saw the cake in the pen, it looked at the cake and then Bellaria, clearly not amused. She swore she even saw the chicken shake its head, but maybe that was her imagination. Bellaria felt frustration rising, but she quelled that emotion as soon as it reared its other head.

She had to find another idea, so she went back to her previous thought. Maybe making a trail of crumbs would be better, or she could maybe make a net out of licorice, but the mission clearly stated not to harm the chicken, or it'd be a failure, and she would never allow that. Superheroes could never fail, it was her duty to succeed.

It was then that her idea came to her, it was a simple one, exactly the same as before. She could just make another cake to persuade the chicken into its coop! It was a great idea, as she could pile cake upon cakes to hopefully win over the cranky mammal, but maybe it was that the chicken never liked the cake, so she'd have to include some other delicious morsels.

She smiled at the wary chicken as she created another cake from her gem, this one was strawberry flavored, so maybe the chicken had a weak spot for strawberry things, as Bellaria had one herself. Although, it was quite childish for her to be assuming anything she liked would be similar with a chicken. She hated being childish, so she scolded herself mentally for such foolishness and tossed the cake next to the other one in the coop.

The chicken seemed to be considering this, but it never budged. The cakes were probably the problem, maybe it had a specific taste for a certain flavor, although, it was quite unlikely, seeing as it was a wild animal and would take any food it would get, so maybe it just didn't see sugar saturated confections as food.

Bellaria sighed as she created another cake for the animal, this time, chocolate. Maybe there would be enough food for its greediness to be satisfied, as she never felt like depleting her magical energy today. The chicken was glaring at her again, almost expecting more. Maybe the mammal new of her potential energy to create food, and wanted an unlimited supply.

It was a questionable theory, but after creating three new cakes; spice, buttermilk and carrot, the chicken began waddling back to its cage as Bell watched anxiously. If this never worked, she had no idea what she could do. Maybe that licorice net was a good idea, after all, it wouldn't really do any damage, unless accidentally plucking a feather with its stickiness. But it was out of the question, seeing as if she harmed the chicken at all, the mission would be a failure and she would have disgraced Fairy Tail.

When she looked back, she gasped as she saw the chicken already in the cage with two of the cakes already devoured. Now all she had to do was get payment from the farmers.
