Lineage Suggestions

This might sound kinda selfish on my part, but I really hate my lineage.

So I got to thinking about a way to make lineages a bit "better" so to speak.


Instead of rolling for a single lineage, people get the chance to roll for 3 lineage.
Out of the 3 lineages rolled, they are able to choose 1 of the 3 to their liking.

While it might seem less random, it also gives players a feeling of choice instead of being dumped with something that:
1)  Completely goes against what their original plans are for that character
2)  Doesn't make someone want to completely dump that character and gives them a "choice" to pick something that fits them and what they wanted.
3)  Forces players to adapt a certain play-style or simply ignore their lineage altogether.

Which is another thing that bothers me.  Ignoring lineages altogether.  If it's something for people to ignore, why bother rolling it in the first place?  But that's just minor nitpick.  But yeah, please consider the suggestion.  It doesn't have to be retro-actively implemented, but for newer players/alts it would be nice for them to have a little semblance of freedom and choice.

Also, if the lineages were separated by individual posts/threads with their pics linking to them (or at least telling you what volume they belong to) would be nice... Because I had no clue where my lineage was and actually took a while to search.

I like the idea of rolling three times and picking one. Will help a lot with the issues we have with people getting lineages they don't like at all. Pretty easy fix too. Just gotta change some words in how to roll for a lineage. Might get sort of swarmed with people who want to change theirs using this method but that shouldn't be too hard either.

I don't like that some people have lineages they ignore, while others have game changing powerful abilities. It seems a bit unfair that people get that kinda stuff for free while everyone else is jipped. But that's just my opinion, keep lineages how they are if ya want, just how I feel. Not complaining, just stating my opinion.

But yeah great suggestion, seen something similar, but 3 is probably better than 2 rolls and definitely better than one.

Haven't I suggested this at least four times o-o?  I never made a topic on it specifically I think,  but yeah.


I wish this were the default. At the very least the default for your first roll and not rerolls.

Roll three pick one? I'm for this, i think this will help people have a bit more fun.

Lmao, when would a magical girl need to turn I to a giant dragon? For this reason, I support as I never plan to use my lineage.

new here and I quite frankly like the idea of choice even if it was just 2. Though I can't complain I love my lineage. building a fun character from it.

What for the people who spent jewels on lineage will they be refunfed

Well you can't control what lineage you come from in character, I mean yes I like the idea about making my own lineage but it's better to have it randomly selected(cant choose from where you came from but you can choose how to use your abilities no?). But it is good to re-roll then have a choice.

BTW transforming into a giant dragon makes you the scary dragon lady that people watch themselves around you @Mapleseruhp

Well, same could be said about one's gender, hair color, eye color, skin color, and genetic defects. But, alas, we are given the choice of our character's gender, hair color, eye color, skin color, and genetic defect (if you desire). So why is it too far-fetched to allow us to have a slight bit of control over our character's lineage when we already have full control of traits that one can't change on a permanent basis?

I actually quite like this idea.

It would soothe a lot of issues and those that have not used this (due to rolling lineages before implemented)would be allowed to do this I think:

Roll two lineage dice and pick between the one they have and these two new ones.
I think this would also go for those that have re-rolled though we would need proof of the re-rolling.

It might also be fair(and I might raise this as a point to admins as well) that users are allowed to just not roll for a lineage. So they get no lineage, but if you make this decision then decide you want to roll for a lineage later(after doing jobs and what not) you have to pay the re-roll price.
