    Job Info:

Aiyana didn't leave the boat quietly, choosing to jump the last few steps onto the dry land of the land of Midi. The land was beautiful! Mountains could be seen in the distance, temples and villages dotting them sporadically. Even in the small village their boat had docked at to let them off was a sight to behold. The people wore interesting clothing, akin to the clothes Mao sometimes wore, that the Sabertooth mage was thinking of wearing after this job. Large gardens, consisting of trees and flowers of all shapes, size, and color, dotted the place along the river that ran through most of the place. Turning to look behind her, Aiyana would speak to her friend Mei with eyes full of wonder. ”Wow this place is gorgeous! I'll have to make my honeymoon here some day!”

Sadly, they were not here for fun and games. Midi was having trouble with a celestial spirit. That was right! Not a celestial summoning mage, but a legitimate spirit on its own. According to the job papers, it was the spirit of the 'Nine-Tailed Fox' that was known for tricking people. This specific spirit had somehow managed to accidentally kill their partner during a job she had been summoned in; breaching her contract with the mage. Being banned from the celestial realm because of this, meaning she would soon die from not being able to go back, the fox spirit had begun to go on a rampage among the land. Reports said she could control the foxes that littered the area, and the animals would continue to attack until the were either knocked unconscious or killed.

'Hopefully we can find her quick. This country isn't too large and the people are friendly to strangers, so we should be able to get some good help in locating where the vixen was at least.' The bandaged mage awaited her job partner to completely leave the boat and compose herself before she would start them off for the rest of the job.

Urgh, Mei had been dragged all the way out here to handle something about a fox? Seriously why did she say yes to this again, could it have been the fact that she was bored or was it due to wishing to avoid dealing with those who she hadn't seen in such a long time. Probably the latter, as she knew now that she would have a lot of paperwork and potentially clients to catch up on. Well it wasn't really that, she just liked equating the human value of it, made things far easier to explain to others, and frankly made her far more amused by it, which was to say slightly. It was a mutual agreement that made her do such tasks, but still it didn't mean she had to "like" it, especially when there was so much more she could be doing...

Like sitting around sleeping, eating, or nearly anything else. Mei was probably the worst "divine" being you could ever find, but could you blame her, all people used to do were sacrifice others to her in the form of a volcano, it was a lazy job that relied on her doing 99% nothing at all, with the 1% being the giant natural disasters that happened when she stopped paying attention, totally not her fault mind you, they probably deserved it anyway.

Leaving the boat, Mei almost didn't want to believe that some kind of celestial spirit was on the loose rampaging around. That would seriously be a pain, especially since she was kind of supposed to maybe take care of that, and she kind of maybe didn't want to. Aiyana was here though, so at the very least that would solve the problem, as in Mei could let her do most of the work.

"I guess the place is okay, a little too cheery if you ask me."

Mei was a little odd, she didn't like the quiet, instead she liked it a little bit more noisy, so long as that noise wasn't yelling at her to get everything done and in order.

"So you dragged me out here, so let's try and get this solved I guess right? I mean if it's true there must be someone who knows about a giant fox spirit rampaging about, unless they are all blind, which would be really depressing come to think about it, a nation of blind people. Eh, whatever, ask some people, I'll see about getting us transportation there, don't feel like walking all over a country just to find this thing."

It was so strange seeing Mei differently than when they had first met. Different hair, eye color, and she was even taller now! MUCH taller even! Although, sadly to say, the new Mei had an attitude that was kind of irritating at times. Aiyana simple ignored the negative aspects of what the tall woman would say to the Sabertooth mage, instead just answering the parts that required her to. ”Yeah, it shouldn't take too long to figure out. If she's been running around this long she should be pretty weak by now. I'll go look around for whomever leads this village and ask for recent sightings while you look for that transportation!” The bandaged mage ran off to do just that, asking a few random people where she could get information from around the country. After getting the same answer thrice, the young woman entered a larger looking building, the door wide open and allowing her access to a large front room.

A desk awaited those that stepped a few feet forward, a woman sitting in an odd looking chair looking up as Aiyana walked up to her. ”Welcome to the Village Hall, how can I help you?” Her accent was soothing on the ears, even if it was slightly hard to understand with how think it was with her.

”I'm trying to get information on the celestial spirit that's running amok around the country. We're here on a job to take care of it, and are interested in stopping the spirit as soon as possible.”

A nod from the woman would be seen just before she activated a lacrima, one of many lining the table, before speaking up again. ”The last sighting of the trickster celestial was fifty miles east of this village, yesterday. Not far if you rent transportation here in town.”

The short woman have her thanks, and a bow, before leaving the place and finding her way to Mei, who hopefully had acquired the transportation they were going to need. "All right Mei! She was last seen fifty miles east of this village! She can't have gone much further than that in the last day."

Aiyana ran off to go and get the answers to where it was apparently located. Mei found Aiyana's attitude to be pretty good, considering Mei's was at best uninterested right now. The celestial spirit was being this bad, really? It didn't seem possible, they were normally pretty noble in their being, but Mei decided it would be best to check it out anyway, besides she could just write it off as her actually doing work in the form of an "investigation". Still it was a pain, she was dragged out all the way here just for this, normally it would have felt like a vacation, but right now it was just annoying, Mei had other things to ponder on right now other than a wild goose chase. Still at least Aiyana was happy about it, so that was always a good thing, at least she could keep the spirits (no pun intended) up.

Approaching a man who looked as if he owned the little magic cab business, Mei tipped her hat, and tried to a make a decent smile.

"Excuse me my good sir, how much is the transportation?"

    "One million."

    "Uh what?"

    "One million."

"Do I need a bike voucher or something?"

"No, you need money, I only take jewels this is the finest ride you have ever seen."

    "I doubt it..."

If only Mei had actually remembered where she put that bike of her's this whole thing could have been avoided... oh well she supposed there was really only one option that she could take to get this man to give her the cab at a non-scam rate.

    "Will credits do?"

    "No, only jewels."

    "Credits will do fine."

"No they won't, what do you think you are some kind of mage waving your hand around like that, I only listen to jewels!"

As mei flicked her hair to turn around and walk off, the man was driven into a panic, the thought of Mei leaving in such a state filling him with dread.

"Fine I'll just go across the street and do business with them."

"Wait uh... maybe I was a bit rash? You can buy from me, it'll be fine, see I thought you meant the purchase price not the rental, the rental is 95% off, which means it is only 5000 jewels with a 5000 jewel return should the vehicle be in working order like you rented it! Ha ha ha, my apology's for that!"

Turning back around Mei smiled, and nodded towards the man.

"Very good, I have the jewels right here with me, thank you very much for showing me the true cost... oh and as a free word of advice..."

Getting onto the quaint little cab, Mei smiled towards him as the magma around his feet disappeared into a puff of ash. '

"Try not to rip off everyone you meet, or else it might not be a display next time, but the real thing, who knows unlike me some people might be a little more hostile. Just food for thought really, and you seemed famished."

The man trying not to piss himself at the thought of being melted alive, nodded and smiled and waved her off, as Mei drove the thing towards, frankly towards the streets till she came across Aiyana wandering them, who seemed to promptly notice Mei's acquisition of the vehicle and call out once Mei for within earshot range.

"Fifty miles huh? Hop in, I'll drive this thing likes to take a bit of magic power, but it's whatever, you can handle the big scary fox if it appears right, I mean I won't be useless, but I might take a small nap, if it actually exists in the first place that is."

It sounded as if Mei had no problem with driving the vehicle so long as Aiyana would take care of any problems once they arrived, meaning she had to give the taller woman a chance to recoup her lost magic power that the machine would eat to allow them to get there quickly. "No problem with me! The job shouldn't be too hard if the celestial spirit has been away from the spirit world for a long while, she's bound to be weakening at a pretty fast rate." The bandaged mage had always been curious about celestial summoning magic, and the spirits and gods that could be contracted with if one was worthy enough. The young girl, with every fiber of her being, wished to learn celestial summoning magic one day.

It wouldn't be a long trip to the location, though they would need to figure out something to chat about or there would be the awkward moment of silence. She didn't want awkward silence, or silence at all really. 'Think Ai, think! What can we talk about that might be worthwhile!' Unfortunately for Mei, small worthwhile talk turned into talk about relationships. ”So Mei, has my favorite lobster girl had any luck with relationships lately? I don't hear you talk about anyone at all, and I can't see someone as beautiful as you being single all this time!” Yes, she had called the other woman beautiful. No, she did not regret saying it at all! The girl was a cutie, even in this new body she had! Heck, if she said she was single maybe she would ask her out on a date after this job was over! She sat there, hoping that the other girl would at least try to humor her for the fifty mile long road trip.

    "Good then."

Mei stated simply, the fact that Aiyana was so energetic, again was a good thing, since Mei really, again, could care less about all of this. It was a different kind of feeling really, mei felt a little bad at how cold she had been to people as of late, but the enthusiasm that came with so many memories and motives was lackluster. Knowing exactly what had happened for so long, and how the world seemed to always change, made one not care about much, maybe the problem was with the "contract" she had made, it made her needs different and thus her cares far from the norm that people dealt with, then again she really wasn't a person was she? It felt odd to admit, but this form, the world, everything around her, it didn't feel the same, taste the same, smell the same, it was all colorless, a few things like Mao Aiyana and her work colleagues had some color, but two of those colors would fade in time just like all others, or so Mei believed. if they didn't then Mei just might have to make them herself, and that filled her with a bit of sadness, having to eliminate some of her own color from the world wasn't a joy at all, it was a burden.

Then Aiyana had to slightly ruin the mood, why would Mei care about a relationship especially with some person she might have to end up catering too, perhaps in the past she had tried them for sure, but recently she was more worried about her own place in the world than anything.

"Can't say that I have, why have you? Also just because I blushed one time, doesn't mean I am a lobster, though I suppose getting my old powers back doesn't really help that fact, but hey at least my magma is blue right? So what's blue that blushes huh?"

Mei tried to be clever, but she probably failed, oh well not like it mattered, in the long run, what was happening was that Aiyana was being annoying with her probing questions once again, though unlike before Mei could actually respond without turning into lobster girl.

"Well if you care so much about my love life, probably far more than I care about it, how about you, did you transfer so that you could hit on the guys in sabertooth? Or don't tell me, were you chasing Mao's tails? If you were chasing after the latter, I think some stalker dude who summons ravens is after her tails... though I have a feeling both of them are too stupid to make a move, though."

Me was both making fun of Aiyana, and at the same time actually curious about it. Aiyana had always been a little odd, but it was probably just her attitude. To clarify Mei didn't give a crap about Aiyana's preference, instead it was her attitude as a whole, it was so cheery and attention grabbing, it didn't sit well with Mei, Aiyana seemed to be hiding something, too earnest, and now with Mei's newfound perspective noticed it was a little tragic... Mei wouldn't bring that up, but she did think about it. No one was this happy without something in the past, Mei would know, it's why her own happiness had long since died out.

It was adorable, the amount of atitude that was being thrown in the Sabertooth Guild Mage's direction. The taller, Lamia Scale going, woman answered the question, but tried to be clever at the same time. And then there was the question at the end! She knew the answer to it! It was a blue blushing angelfish! But she refrained from answering the question, as Mei continued on speaking to turn the tables on her with the questions. The bandaged woman would just have to answer it later, when she remembered to at least! Instead, Aiyana would answer the question she was asked.

”No, I moved to Sabertooth over something major!” She paused for a moment, her eyes getting a bit moist as she held back a few tears. ”For some reason she had completely forgotten most of the time we had spent together, even the modeling shoot we did together. Had to show her the magazine to even get her to believe we were actually friends at all. I'm staying there to keep an eye on her, and possibly help her find out what's causing it and help fix it.” The young woman managed to keep from crying as she remembered the sad events that had taken place at the grand ball in the Sabertooth guild hall.

She shook her head, the tears that were attempting to break free sinking into oblivion as she started to answer the rest, even as they finally arrived at their location. ”And I haven't had anything work out recently, no, even though I've tried. And Mao does have a nice tail, but she doesn't notice my advances so it goes no where.” With that said, Aiyana would wait for Mei to stop the vehicle before both would get out. With luck they would find the trickster spirit quickly and get this mess over with and go have some fun.

    "So I was right..."

Mei pondered a bit as they went along towards their destination. it was a little obvious by the way that boy had been acting towards Mao, but she didn't seem to react at all. He didn't seem like a stalker, he seemed like someone who knew her, and if Aiyana had been forgotten about by Mao then that means... she was experiencing something going on... was Mao purposefully doing it? No Mao seemed like the type of person who wouldn't do such a thing, she seemed like the type of person to try and hold onto them, she seemed scared. She had the memories of the past in her mind but were they her past, it probably tore at Mao like a mighty storm. Mei didn't know if anything could really be done about it, those who walked in this world seemed to view themselves as infallible, though they knew almost nothing about where it was they lived, they fought and died for very little reason, and then moved on to another life beyond without so much as leaving a mark, a symbol, a flag. Maybe Mao was like that, Aiyana seemed like that, she seemed like the type who had nothing, it was hidden, buried away deep behind the surface, waiting for a voice to wake it up. Most people were like that. Hidden, locked away, violent before they knew who they really were. That was the sorrow of Mei, she knew her purpose and knew how it had been rewritten, it's why she had once again assumed the role of an outsider to others, not due to shyness or corruption, but due to memories, due to the past talking back to her, her old world blues.

"Well keep trying, and I'm sure something will end up working out. Mao, on the other hand, I don't know any advice for that one, something is wrong in her life, and nothing can be done except for her to figure it out. You might want to try as her friend, but that's not your message to be delivered, the only thing you can do is wait for her to figure it out, if you try, you might only find the same misery that she knows, via failure."

It was a little cold, but was true, nothing could be done for Mao except for what she did for herself. Mei knew that Mao might soon forget about her too, but that wasn't mei's burden to bear, it was just the reality of whatever was happening. Perhaps one day Mao could finally see the world without losing it all, but until then all Mei would do is sit by and watch, if Mao needed help then Mei would provide it, but if she never found the solution on her own, all Mei's help would do is bring Mao to more ruin as it kept happening, as she would never know who she really was. No one could tell you that, only you could figure that out.

Stopping the taxi, Mei unplugged the magic device and yawned a bit. It was draining for sure, especially since Mei had yet to recover even a fraction of her former power, but it was reality and it would have to do, Besides Aiyana was more eager anyway, and Mei felt a little too cold, so offering to drive was the least of worries to her.

"Well then, let's get started if this thing actually exists, lets try and find it."

It was true, all too very true. Aiyana could do nothing but try to help, while Mao did the soul searching on her own. If it came to something physical she could help, but the mind was a fickle thing to deal with. A nod of her head at the cold, hard, truth was all she did as the taxi finally stopped. The road trip had been a fast one, their small talk being all they needed before the two women had arrived where the nine tailed fox celestial spirit had last been seen.

"Yeah, it shouldn't be too hard to find her. Especially if she's controlling foxes and sending them out. Surely they would lead us to her if we followed the direction they come from! For now we should just wander what would appear to be a small forest." Maybe she was in a shrine of some sort in the midst of the trees, hidden away somewhere she could rest in between causing mayhem! Or maybe she was simply pacing around, worried about her upcoming demise; either by fading away as her magical power ran out, or by the hands of those sent to stop her plans!

It was then that she heard the barks and yips of animals amongst the trees, all around the place. The bandage wielding mage was sure they were the foxes the celestial spirit was controlling. It sounded like a ton of them out there, some possibly even coming for the two trespassers that had encroached upon the sacred land of their current 'master.' It was then that the bushes a few dozen meters away began to move, breaking forth to reveal what would soon be the first enemies of this job. ”All right, try to keep it easy with magic. No use pushing yourself too hard after driving the taxi the whole way here so quick!” With that said, Aiyana's khopesh was drawn as she stood in a neutral stance as she awaited whatever would come forth to face them.

"Oh look a fox, and it looks angry, better take cover."

Mei obviously said sarcastically, she had been listening half-heartedly the whole time, but now she was slightly interested. This fox, it could be true after all and if it was true then she would have to do at least a little work, for now though Mei could just play it off as her resting a bit so Aiyana could take care of everything, after all Mei did kind of have to rest, though her natural abilities were potent, you never know when you might need to sling a spell at something. Though Mei didn't think she would have to as the fox seemed to really hate Aiyana for some reason and went in after her. Mei was more concerned however about where the thing might have come from, like Aiyana had mentioned and so she began looking around the area for any signs or clues of life, so far she couldn't see anything, but now that she was focusing on it a bit more, perhaps something would come into view, something possibly more sinister than the little fox that threatened them right now.

It was probably nothing, though, Mei could tell if something was amiss like that, but at the same time, maybe it would be this fox itself, maybe it was just that scared or stupid to bum rush right into the middle of obviously two classy mage's, actually that would be awesome for Mei, she yearned to send whatever left of this thing back to where it belonged, not the celestial realm, oh heavens no, someplace horrible. No, not some nerds basement either, stop being an idiot. Perhaps at the end of the day Mei would end up having to help, but for right now no matter what appeared, she would just take it on authority that Aiyana had it covered, besides what was the worst that could happen, not like there would be hundreds of the things of anything.

The sarcasm was on in full force from Mei now! The single line was bad enough to make Aiyana wince as the single fox ran directly at the young woman. ”What? Little fox with the bad attitude doesn't like the girl in the cat hat?” Aiyana taunted the creature as she simply stepped to the side, the creature charging past before it slid to a stop so it could turn around to charge again. Mouth wide open, the animal did a running leap as she heard another sound from behind her. She ducked, rolling forward as she did so, and saw another fox had joined the fray.

”Aha! Tricky little devils, eh?” She didn't have time to play games with some weak minded foxes being controlled by their main target. Instead of dodging the next leap from the fox, the bandaged woman swung the blunt part of her weapon into the side of the fox; knocking it away and into a rock. The creature stay laying there, either dead or unconscious as it was hard to tell while focusing on another of the animals. The second of her opponents turned out to be a lot simpler to take care of. A single kick outward would strike across the head of the thing, bringing it into the dark depths of a coma she hoped it would come out of eventually.

She looked up, her eyes moving over to look at Mei only to see an image of a naked Mao in front of her. It took a few moments of staring, just because of what the image was, for her to realize that it was exactly that; a mirage. ”Oh, well....this Spirit really is good at tricks 'n such. Almost fooled me through my charm bracelet's affect...” A slight blush would quickly spread across her face as she looked down at the ground, kind of sad over her reaction. ”We should move along though, we need to find her before we run into too many of the stupid foxes and she gets away.”

"Didn't fool me, Mao's bigger, granted it's a decent copy but Mao is bigger."

Without blinking at all, Mei turned to look at Aiyana, a fox dashing towards Mei's own rear, only to be put under a melting disguise as it ran through Mei, quite literally, on fire. Mei didn't laugh at all, at the poor creatures misery as the magma hurt it beyond belief, instead she just thought how stupid a firefox sounded, perhaps a chrome cast or an opera but not a firefox. Wait what exactly was she thinking of, oh well no matter one down a few more to go, but now they didn't seem so keen on attacking Mei, which was for the best, all Mei would do is stand there and look bored anyway, well for the most part, unless one of them actually figured out how to hurt her, then she would be forced to react, and possibly get more tired in the process, something she didn't look forward to.

"Before you give me a naughty look, or a worse one, I simply have X-ray vision. Perhaps it's for the best though if I don't mention any other specific's, after all I think the boy with me in the last proper job I did with mao wouldn't like me telling."

Mei had to keep some secrets right, either way the foxes were still about as Mei stated this, perhaps Aiyana was too busy to listen to her, or meibe she just not listening, whatever the case Mei kept trying to scout and focus a bit on where that little trickster might be, that was the real prize, none of these little babies or anything. While Aiyana was probably here to help the people Mei actually had a job to do, one which was very important, and she totally didn't ignore half of the time. Seriously she was a good hard honest worker, and yeah no she was lazy when it all came down to it, ignore the attitude and the air about her, she was damn lazy and damn proud. I mean look, she took out a fox by standing there, Mei won by doing absolutely nothing, the truest form of awesome there is... if you suck.

The surprised look on Aiyana's face would not be seen by Mei, her response being stopped as a fox ran straight through the changed woman only to burst into flame. It was apparent that the creature was in pain, at least until it dropped to the ground in defeat as it burned to death. The scene would have made her grimace, had she not had to deal with ten more foxes that were coming at her at the same time. They were, luckily, all coming from the same direction; granting her the chance to assault them all at the same time.

The first of the foxes attacked on its own, a single sideways swing with the khopesh hitting it across the face with the blunt side enough to send it away through the air. The next attacked in a group of three, and learned that the threesome was a failure. One found a bandage striking it like a whip, sending it hurdling into another of the three that were there, while the third one found a boot the the face that would end its part in the battle. 'Why is there so many foxes? Does she really need to send so many creatures out to be injured, or killed?' That thought was almost interrupted as a multitude of the creatures all charged her; six to be exact. Not wanting to deal with that many at the same time, Aiyana let them all get close before throwing both of her arms out. The resulting explosion of bandages in all directions sent all of them flying. Some hit trees and rocks all around while others flew into each other; most being finished with the fight after it. Only two decided to come back at her, both failing miserably in doing so as they each, one by one, were knocked out with a kick.

It was as she thought she had taken them all out that she felt a sudden pain on her back. Instincts moved one of her hands towards her back as she latched on to something warm and soft; an eleventh fox! She pulled the animal off, throwing it to the ground with all her might before her foot met the mouth of the creature and it fell into unconsciousness. ”Clever girl.” It was all she could really say about the animal, the young mage really had not seen the attack coming. With the area lacking anything able to engage them in combat Aiyana caught up to Mei's location to follow her, hoping she would be able to track the celestial spirit easier than she could possibly do.

Aiyana was under attack by all of the random fox's that seemed to just love her company. Mei was okay with this as scanning for the big bad was Mei's real purpose right now. Perhaps that was the reason Mei was so uncaring about the poor creature that had hit her from behind and died due to it, or maybe Mei's heart was just made out of obsidian. Regardless as Aiyana began to fight them, Mei turned to head in the opposite direction that the foxes had approached. This spirit seemed like the clever sort, but being clever didn't mean being smart, only witty. Snap reactions times weren't a match for well thought out positioning, it was effective to be sure, but it wasn't the same as thinking through the problem, and that's why Mei had been standing still for so long, she was thinking through the problem.

This little renegade fox spirit could be considered a demon or sorts, or at least going against the natural order of things, and as such was a foe that Mei must face. So if she must face it, just as it is foretold she must think through the best way to approach it and where it might lay. Once she figured it out, that the creature must be attacking from a rounded flanking action, Mei smirked a bit, it was desperate and running out of time, so this method of attacking was, an interesting one, it showed trying to lure rather than kill. To fool away from, or to lure the smart into a real trap. There would certainly be a secondary battery ready to fight, but Mei could handle such a trap especially if Aiyana backed her up.

Heading out towards the opposite direction, Mei began to see a few foxes running alongside in the brush, Mei must be going the right direction, and surely enough right as Aiyana was probably finished with her little fight, Mei stumbled upon a clearing within the brush and spotted in the middle of all her little minions, the spirit. She looked real nice for her stifling old age, though Mei supposed she couldn't talk, she was kind of old after all. Tipping her hat towards the spirit, Mei smiled slightly.

"Well now a renegade spirit in the land of the mundane, might I ask what you are doing here, and what your final words are?"

The spirit merely turned towards Mei and smirked a bit.

"Waiting for your friend to show up."

"Oh my, you are waiting for my friend, I see this is a little troublesome, considering I might beat all of your cronies before she even comes close. Besides I don't think I like that you are waiting for her specifically, means you probably have something sinister planned out."

"What's the matter... don't you trust me?"

With that the little band she had with her launched itself at Mei, and for the first time in a while Mei actually took a fighting stance. This was going to be interesting.

Why was there so many foxes? And why were they all going in the same direction? Maybe they were all going towards the celestial spirit that was controlling them? With that logic going through her mind. She quietly followed the animals, the creatures marching like an army towards a clearing that she finally came into contact with. It appeared putting her trust in Mei's tracking skills was a good choice; the mage of magma having already found the nine tailed fox celestial spirit as she came forth into the clearing. It appeared context had already been made, as foxes began to move in towards her friend as the fox woman turned to face the bandaged mage.

”Ah! There you are! Glad you could finally join the party!”

”Party? You're sending creatures to their death over a mistake of your own! Why can't you just take your punishment and leave others be?”

”Oh, I'm going to die! Why would I just lay down and take that? As the trickster spirit I'm going to have fun until I fade away!”

A sigh left Aiyana's lips, disappointment flooding from her body as she did so. How could one be so ignorant of the feeling of others? Even if she wasn't a human, she had at least been contracted to them before. ”Well, I guess it can't be helped.” With that said the young woman drew her Khopesh, her face holding the disappointed stare into the celestial spirit's eyes. Seeing that she would have to fight, the spirit laughed heartily; no fear in her at all.

”So that's it? Just going to end me early? No, I think I'll kill you for even thinking about that!” The fox featured woman then began her charge towards the Sabertooth mage. The fight  against her was on!

The minions rushed towards Mei their little claws and teeth trying to bite and scratch her into oblivion, sadly they didn't stand a chance as Mei flicked them to the side with but a few hand movements, knocking them down to size upon the ground. Perhaps this was the fate of all those who were manipulated by evil, or so Mei was believing right now. Truly they were somewhat innocent, but since they had let such a mind enter their own perhaps they weren't that worthy of mercy after all, especially since unlike Mei and Aiyana, such tricks would never work on them. Especially Aiyana, she was far too strong willed and strong in her own right, to let something like that happen, or so Mei thought.

As she did her best Neo impression, effectively stating how she knew kung fu and kept knocking them aside as their blows met with nothing but magma in their mouths and upon their claws.

"Such pointless little attempts, you all think you can really fight me as an equal, even with such numbers? Back down, the spirit is all I'm here for not cannon fodder like you guys...

Oh, why am I even bothering to try and reason with foxes.
    "

Sighing a bit Mei prepared yet another fighting stance as they came at her, this time in a bigger and more unified push, almost like the spirit was trying to distract Mei... well it was working because frankly while Mei really wanted to punch that smug spirits face, she knew that if she tried to get in the way of her and Aiyana the spirit was going to pull something, and frankly Mei would rather wait all of it out and ponder what the spirit was planning in the meantime. Hopefully it was just something mundane, and nothing too serious, or else Mei might have maybe made a mistake.

It seemed the nine tailed fox spirit was going to go all in from the very start, or at least that was how it seemed as Aiyana swung her weapon at the celestial spirit. To the bandaged girl's surprise, her weapon went straight through before she felt a kick strike her in the center of her back. The kick hurt, the celestial spirit obviously still having some strength left in her even though she had been in the human world for so long. The bandaged mage rolled forward with the hit, getting back to her feet without issue. The Sabertooth mage managed to get a glimpse in Mei's direction to see her fighting a swarm of foxes while she was left to fight against the spirit on her own. A good trick, but surely not the only one the girl had up her sleeve. As she turned to face the fox she swung a hand around at the same time, a bandage coming forth to strike the unsuspecting celestial spirit across the face.

”Hey! Why hit such a beautiful face!”

”A good face isn't much when everything else you do is ugly.”

The resulting shriek from the vixen was almost unbearable as a multitude of her appeared and swarmed her at once. Aiyana's first instinct was to let loose a bandage blast, every one of the fake ones disappeared with the hit as she had hoped. Sadly the real one was no where to be seen, at least until Aiyana heard a laugh and looked up. All she got to see was a pair of feet landing in her face before she could react. The bandaged woman didn't lose any teeth, something that wouldn't matter in the future anyhow, as she hit the ground before swinging her weapon up at her attacker. The blow struck home, smashing against her rib cage with loud cracks as she leapt off of her.

”Aw, did I hit your pwetty face?”

There was a weird silence in the air as the various foxes rushed towards Mei, preparing for yet another round of kung fu, Mei then came to a realization, why was she trying to hard! Suddenly she stopped in place and sighed a bit, this was all too silly. Pulling out the latest sorcerers magazine, she decided to let just the foxes all jump through her and start to melt away. Not her fault that they were pretty stupid after all, and would thus allow her to relax a little bit. Aiyana obviously had the vixen spirit by the ropes and wouldn't need her help at all, so once again Mei would get to enjoy a little break in the middle of combat. As the little creatures winced in pain Mei decided to take a seat and scroll through the pages, thankfully there were no weird images this time and rather more on various magic trends. Apparently soul magic was on the rise along with fire magic, it was quite weird really, that so many people were using such magics, but Mei couldn't really complain or talk, they just did what they wanted to do after all, just like her, though her's was more nature based.

Now all Mei had to do was wait there for the main battle to be over, as various foxes tried to once again lash through her, and once again get smacked down by the shame of failure. Why did they constantly attack her like this, what was the spirits plan anyway to bore Mei to death? It could be effective as frankly if she didn't have the magazine maybe Mei would have intervened in the fight, just to annoy the spirit. Then again the thing probably couldn't be annoyed anyway as they always seemed to have a just as planned look on their face. Hopefully Aiyana was going to be okay, if not then well, at least the magazine was fun to read. For a brief moment Mei wondered if they put obituaries in the sorcerers weekly, but then decided that they probably didn't.

Aiyana's response to the question was to spit out the blood that had pooled on the inside of her mouth. While it hadn't knocked out teeth the kick had caused her to bite the tip of her tongue with the unexpected foot to her mouth. ”Nah, you didn't do anything permanent. Too weak for that!” The last word was louder than the rest of the sentence, the bandaged mage striking out with another bandage attack that struck the celestial spirit's left leg with a loud crack. The nine tailed fox howled loudly in pain as she jumped forward at Aiyana before letting loose an orb of light that she didn't expect to appear. The ball struck her in the chest, immediately making her feel drained of energy before it went back to absorb into her opponent for this job.

”Thanks for the free healing!” That was all the spirit would say before attempting a slash with the long nails on her hands. They would be blocked by her own, sharpened, nails before she kicked out to hit the opposing woman in the stomach and knocking her away. The female celestial spirit went tumbling across the ground before she could correct her balance, Aiyana speeding towards her to try and attack the woman before she could recover completely. ”Nice try!” The words were heard behind her, the girl looking over her should to see a foot coming out at her back. Thinking this was the real one, Aiyana reached to grab the limb only to be struck from behind; where she was originally facing. The kick brought her to her knees, the woman rolling to her back to try and swing at the fox spirit again; her attack barely missing her shoulder. ”I'll get use to your tricks, and then you won't be able to fight anymore!” Aiyana wasn't one hundred percent sure on the words, but maybe they would allow her a minor victory if her enemy believed it later on.
