Magic
Primary Magic: Mirror Magic
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: Light, spectrums of color. Bouncing around to control what we see. Speculo was always and had always been in love with mirrors. Strange fascination, really. His parents thought something was wrong with him, always staring into them, or any metal surface to see reflections. As soon as he was able to read, he was checking out the magic books that his mother had in the basement. Somewhere inside, he found out about Mirror Magic. Not a popular magic of any sense, but it stuck with him. Soon, he was learning how to control magic. It took massive concentration and wore him out, but he was always satisfied with the results he got. His mother always smiled, seeing him use what was her magic when she was young. But those smiles didn’t last long. Speculo wasn’t sure what had happened on that fateful day, but he wasn’t with his parents anymore, and he never saw home again. These newer people, they scared him. They were mean looking, and were rude to each other. Nothing like he was initionally raised. As he grew up, he kept at his magic, although not as much as he would have liked to. He learned he was part of an Assassin’s Guild. He wanted nothing to do with them, but they persuaded him to go on one job. He did. A child was defending his mother. And they were about to harm him. Speculo rushed tot he kids defense, but he wasn’t quick enough. They just.. murdered him. Straight out slashed his throat... Speculo turned on his guild members. He wasn’t able to do much against them, and they escaped. Knowing that he was now a loose end that knew everything about their operations, He left without a word. Since then, he’s been constantly on the move. He can’t afford to stay in one spot for long.
Speculo can make mirrors appear out of thin air around him. These mirrors can do a variety of spells, but all of his spells use these mirrors. These mirrors can deflect and reflect attacks, make illusions to battle his enemies, or trap them in cages within themselves. Each mirror could be the size of a full person's body, or small enough to hold in your hand. These mirrors are also 2D. They have no thickness, no depth, and are purely magical. From Speculo’s side of the magic mirror, he doesn’t see a mirror. Instead, he sees a twinkling outline of the mirror. The opposite side is a perfect mirror, ready to be enchanted with a spell.
Strengths:
• Individual Opponents with small spells are countered by Speculo hard, especially if they use projectiles
• A lot of his later magic will ensure the usage of illusions as to provide good cover for other tactics
• Since he uses mirrors for magic, people who use light projection spells that are of the same rank, or lower will bounce off of his mirrors.
Weaknesses:
• Speculo needs mirrors to use his magic, meaning he has to keep making them before casting a spell.
• Someone who can keep their head on straight can overcome Speculo’s illusions.
• If they can overcome their own spells or absorb them after Speculo has sent them back, he is in trouble.
• Darkness aligned spells can counter this magic by removing the light that would provide reflects for the mirrors. (get rid of illusions)
Lineage:
The Brute of Fiore
A long time ago, there was a clan of warriors that drank a magical elixir to increase their physical powers. They became known as the Brutes of Fiore, they did what they liked whenever they like it and let nobody stand in their way. Then Fiore became fed up with their barbaric behavior and ordered a spy to infiltrate their hall and poison the elixir supplies. The warriors drank their elixirs the night after and noticed certain side effects. Their increased physical strength could be called upon whenever they wanted and they no longer needed the elixir, however they weren't as strong as they used to be. They were a lot less intimidating and shortly after the clan disbanded. Some descendants of the Brutes of Fiore still have the ability to call upon the gift of increased physical power and strength.

Unique Abilities:
- Pre-made mirrors around the environment can be used as mediums for Speculo's spells. Such as, of course, mirrors, or reflective metals, or in some cases(if it's still enough), water. When using a pre-made mirror, no magic points are used up. This includes the mirror's on Speculo's gloves, as they are physical objects not created by magic.
- Speculo can spawn a mirror out of thin air in front of his hands in which to use his spells. These mirrors are circular and follow his hands and are about anywhere from 1-2 feet in diameter. This mirrors don't actually have a substance, or a thickness. They are purely magical.
- Speculo's illusionary spells don't require Speculo to know every detail. The victim fills in the gaps to make the illusion real to them, while Speculo sets the guidelines and criteria of what he wants.
Spells:
- Spells:
- Signature Spell: Intervention:
- Name: Intervention
Rank: C
Type: Mirror, Offensive and Defensive
Duration: 1 posts
Cooldown: 1 posts
Description: Speculo doesn’t need to repeat the spell over and over again for each reflect of an enemy spell. Instead it applies a passive affect on the mirror that he spawns or on a physically reflective surface until the end of the post or Speculo casts another spell on the mirror/surface. Mirrors with Intervention on them reflect an enemy spell immediately. Whether it be a projectile or a physical blow from a wizards body. A physical blow from a normal weapon that contains no magic is not reflected and the mirror breaks. Reason why is because a wizard has magic in their body at all time, and thus is registered as a thing the mirror can repel. If you are out of mana, and are still able to throw a punch, it'll break the mirror.
Spells that are B rank and lower are repelled for full damage. A rank and above get taken down to C rank before being released from the mirror. If a physical attack is used on Intervention, it is repelled directly back with the same force as they used. Basically like kicking a wall. This doesn’t work against AoE spells though, only projectiles and physical attacks. (unless it is cast in the air traveling horizontally. Then it can be reflected. If it’s on the ground, nothing can be done.)
Strengths:
• With this spell, it is hard to land hits on Speculo. With the gloves he wears with mirrors on the palm and fingertips, making it very easy for him to deflect attacks.
• If used against Physical attacks, it can harm the opponent's body very easily.
• Can be used on reflective surfaces, like a still pool of a water, or a shiny blade, ect. For reasons, see Unique Abilities.
Weaknesses:
• If used on a reflective surface, the more distorted that surface is (i.e. a rippling pool of water vs. a still pool of water or a rusty blade vs. a clean one) then the weaker and more disorganized the reflected spell will be.
• If a spell has more magical energy than Speculo can handle,(i.e. A super powerful spell(A rank or higher) or when Spec is at 30ish% MP or lower) the mirror could shatter and/or explode right then, harming Speculo and anyone else nearby.
• Doesn’t work against non-magical blades. Normal blades/weapons just break the mirror.- Can't take more than one spell in one mirror. If multiple spells are launched, and more than one are reflected at the same exact time by one mirror, then the mirror/reflective surface magically explodes with whatever element was used on the mirror/reflective surface.
- C Rank:
- Mirror Shard:
- Name Mirror Shard
Rank: C
Type: Mirror, Offensive
Duration: 1
Cooldown: 3 posts
Description: Speculo makes a mirror. It then splits into 10 pieces that then fly towards the target. If all pieces hit, it equals one C Rank hit. They fly a total of 50m.
Strengths:
• Is a projectile, and if Speculo can use another mirror via Intervention, can use one mirror to absorb his own attack and have the shards come at an angle.
• Are hard to see, as they are mirrors. Hard to see = hard to dodge.
• Close up they can be devastatingly lethal.
Weaknesses:
• Uses up one mirror, and the shards cannot be used for other spells.
• The shards can be destroyed or blocked.
• They can’t go through somebody, only stab in a centimeter at best unless at point-blank range.- If you dodge at least 2 shards, deals D rank damage instead of C.
- Mirror Maze:
- Name: Mirror Maze
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Duration: 5 posts
Cooldown: 7 posts
Description: A very powerful spell, Mirror Maze creates hundreds of very tall mirrors simultaneously into a maze, trapping the target(s). The maze has no exits or entrances, just walls and dead ends. Speculo is also inside the maze, except he has the ability to go into the mirrors themselves. He has knowledge of where every person is in the maze, and can project himself on the mirrors. Speculo can also use these mirrors for mediums for spells. i.e. Intervention, Mirror Shatter, Mirror Torment, Mirror Shard, ect. This spell takes 20% of Speculo's MP.
Strengths:
• Traps opponents in a maze.
• Speculo knows all movements within the maze.
• Speculo can activate the mirrors remotely to use spells.- Can travel through the mirrors himself and project himself through the maze.
Weaknesses:
• If able, targets can escape the maze by breaking the mirrors or jumping high enough out of the walls.
• If caught inside a mirror and that mirror is destroyed, the whole maze collapses.
• uses 20% of Speculo's mana.- Speculo is also trapped within the maze with no entries or exits.
- Can travel through the mirrors himself and project himself through the maze.
- Mirror Shatter:
- Name: Mirror Shatter
Rank: C
Type: Mirror, Offensive
Duration: 2 posts
Cooldown: 3 posts
Description: Speculo casts a spell on a mirror. If his enemy looks into the mirror, the mirror shatters. The victim then feels as if their own body was the thing that shattered into tiny pieces, causing huge amounts of illusionary pain That only affects enemies of equal or less ranking than this spell. While the mirror is enchanted, his enemies of equal or less rankings, eyes are drawn to it when they are within 20M potentially distracting them from any other attacks.
Strengths:
• Can render a person useless for a moment as they are dealing with the pain
• As it distracts people, Speculo can fight or flee
• Can convince the people that their bodies are actually injured.
Weaknesses:
• It’s only illusionary pain, not dealing any actual physical damage.
• It can be overcome quickly if they have a strong mental attitude.
• If the person is able to hang onto their will and keep from looking at the mirror, they are fine.- Speculo is busy concentrating this one attack. If silent and quick it is possible to get him when his is occupied with this spell.
- D Rank:
- Mirror Image:
- Name: Mirror Image
Rank: D
Type: Illusion by Mirrors, Offensive
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown: 4 posts
Description: Speculum makes a mirror that he then shows to his enemy. The target’s reflection then steps out of the mirror, and fights with the target. This mirage can use the spells of the one who’s image it takes after, although they only do C Rank damage. Like Mirror Shatter, the opponents eyes are drawn to it. One cool trick for this is that Speculo can copy himself. This clone follows all rules, but a neat trick.
Strengths:
• Speculo likes to use this spell to find out an enemies weaknesses.
• It looks exactly and sounds exactly like the target. Can impersonate that target and can be controlled mentally by Speculo.- Speculo can copy himself to use more mirrors for combos with himself.
Weaknesses:
• If the target knows their own weaknesses, they can defeat it easily.
• The spells damages go down to C rank if the target is higher than C.
• Is pretty fragile, and only needs two hits of C rank damage to be destroyed.- If not being directly controlled by Speculo via mentally(range is 50m), his pretty slack in it's attacks and isn't very strong.
- Speculo can copy himself to use more mirrors for combos with himself.
- Room of a Thousand Mirrors:
- Name Room of A Thousand Mirrors
Rank: D
Type: Mirror
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown: 4 posts
Description: His target is trapped in a ball of mirrors that all work like Intervention. Perfect for a shield or a cage. This ball floats in the air and the subject inside levitates in the middle. Spells that Speculo casts in junction to this spell do an extra 100% damage.
Strengths:
• This can be used with Mirror Shard, throwing all the mirrors inward/outward to damage enemies.
• Speculo can use this on himself to guard from enemy attack for a while
• Can temporarily immobilize an enemy/ally
Weaknesses:
• If used on himself, he can’t see outward
• He cannot use spells other than Mirror Shard while inside it
• Is immobilized himself if used on himself.- The Room isn't a perfect shield or a perfect cage. If a spell rank C or higher is cast on it, it will shatter.
- Truth Seer:
- Name: Truth Seer
Rank: D
Type: Supportive(?), Investigative(?), Defensive(?)
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown: 4 posts
Description: This would not be a spell used in a battle except for against an opponent who also uses an illusion or something of the sort. This spell enchants the mirror/reflective surface to be opac, meaning Speculo can see through it and outside things can see Speculo. When viewed through this mirror, lies become truth and falsehoods fade away. Invisible things come to light and are seen. This also works for ghosts and the like. When someone lies while being viewed through the mirror, the mirror tints red. This can also help a person’s memories come back if they were lost for whatever reason. If someone’s feelings are hidden or have a hard time coming out, people viewed through this mirror have an easier time expressing them. You can view this spell as a spell to just bring everything to fruition and truth and light.
Strengths:
• Can tell Speculo what is truth and a lie.
• Can communicate with ghosts and the like.
• Can restore lost memories
Weaknesses:
• Not really any combative capabilities.
• It can be broken by a magical spell, but only by magic.
• all the said effects about people viewed through the mirror also work for Speculo if he is viewed from the outside inwards.- Takes a lot of concentration to make it work fully and correctly. Bringing the truth out of everything can be a little exhausting. /spoiler]
- Mirror Torment:
- Name: Mirror Torment
Rank: D
Type: Mirror, Offensive
Duration: 1-2 posts
Cooldown: 3 posts regardless
Description: Speculum shows a mirror to the enemy, and they see themselves turn into their worst fear, while pseudo-feeling it as well(i.e. if they turned into a spider, their gaze would be so fixated on the mirror that they wouldn’t be able to see their real body to tell them that they weren’t turning into a spider. They would feel more appendages grow out of their sides and hair sprout from their skin). It can also just reveal all the things the regret, and showing all the bad they have done, to make them hate themselves and destroy the will they have to fight. Like Mirror Image and Mirror Shatter, the enemies eyes are drawn to the mirror. Once they are fixated on it, they’re eyes cannot be willingly torn away. An outside force must pry the eyes away.
Strengths:
• Can destroy an opponents will to fight.
• Great for torture. :D
• Can distract them for a very long time.
Weaknesses:
• Speculo is too occupied tormenting his victim to do much of anything else. He is easy to sneak up on while conjuring this spell.
• Doesn’t do any real damage by itself.
• If Speculo is taken out, the mirror will shatter and the spell will fail.- If the person has gotten over their fears in the past, and excepted the things they regret and all that stuff, this will be virtually useless against them. It would definitely remind them of all those things, but wouldn't affect them as much.
