Dogs & Flies {Job|Solo}

Standing at the entrance of the house, Tane tried ringing the doorbell. A man hurried outside, dressed up and ready for something. The Prestigious one smiled at him and bowed slightly. She told him that she was here for housekeeping since he was giving her quite the strange look. “Ah yes, I am just about to leave. Perfect timing, come in.” Tane entered his house, observing how the furniture was placed and everything. She sat on a sofa in the living room while the man dashed around his house. He brought her something that looked like a badminton racket. She took hold of it and immediately felt a button on its side. She pressed it and a small buzzing noise was produced from the metal (now that she looked carefully she realized it was metal) net. It was a zapper, for insects! How cruel yet smart of an invention by the humans.

Tane placed the zapping racket on the wooden table in front of her. The man was still hurrying about, but he seemed to have gotten his things in place now as he stopped dashing around. He was probably leaving for his 'vacation' now. “I will leaving now for my vacation. There is an annoying dog called Frank, he is the neighbor's dog, and he knows how to get in however you try to stop him. Then there are the flies. Good luck!” he said in a rushed tone before disappearing out the door. Tane remembered all that was needed to be remembered. Then, she would start looking around the house in case the dog was already in the house. Hopefully it was not, because she did not like to deal with animals in an unfriendly way. She did not like treating anything, not just dogs, or animals, in an unfriendly way.

Perfect! Frank was not there. However someone else was. Not just someone else. They were flies. Annoying little insects for most humans. Tane had not once met a human who did not dislike the presence of flies. They were always trying to swat them away and kill them off in any way possible. Flies were not the only insects the humans did not wish to coexist with. There were plenty others including mosquitoes and spiders and a lot more. Spiders were a slightly different case, however. Humans did not despise, they usually feared them. Tane had met people who screamed at the sight of spiders. Yes, they were that scary for humans. Tane now began to try and zap the poor winged insects who were only attracted to the house because of the food that was in the kitchen. Tane did not like killing, but apparently humans regarded flies as nuisances and she had no choice. She chose to help the owner of the house.

Once the fly population in the house had been reduced to nothing, Tane decided she would do something to make sure Frank could not enter the house. She looked around the house and found a sort of wooden shed that was not locked. The door was wide open - actually, there was no door. She entered the shed, looking for things she could use, and found a wire mesh coiled up. She could use that to block all ways into the house. Tane picked up a few necessary tools to install the mesh where she wanted then went back to the house, doing what she had planned to. After about half an hour of careful and hard work, she was done. She smiled triumphantly and returned the tools back into the wooden shed, making sure everything was perfectly in place. She actually even sorted out the tools and things inside the shed because it looked messy.

Tane went back into the kitchen to check on the flies. Thankfully, there were no more, meaning that she did not have to kill any more insects. It was a hot day so she got herself a cup of water from the cooler and quenched her thirst. She decided from this moment onwards she would only have to sit and wait for the owner to return. She had to wait until evening until the owner arrived, when she was rewarded and thanked for the mesh job she did. “I have been trying to find the motivation to get that mesh installed, but I'm too lazy. Thank you though, here's your reward,” he told her. Tane told him it did not take long for her to get it done and then she thanked him for the reward, telling him it was no necessary. Tane left for her inn afterwards, holding the money pouch.
