Durandal The Celestial Blade Empty Durandal The Celestial Blade

Post by Jayce 24th July 2015, 4:36 am

    Name: Durandal
    Rank: Artifact
    Type: Great Sword
    Description:

    Durandal:

Durandal the Celestial Blade, is a weapon forged in the celestial world. It was originally intended to be used by the Celestial Spirit King, but due to a mishap, it ended up in hell, locked up in chains in the chamber of the Arch Devil Belial. The weapon sat there for hundreds of years, before eventually given to one of the grandsons of Belial, Jayce Iscariot, for usage in his quest, which Belial himself didn't thing was right, but what's a devil to say what's right. Durandal has so far been in Jayce's possession for more than five years, with that time, the young devil has managed to almost master it's usage, but only recently became aware of Durandal's real power.

The real power of the blade, comes in from of a special fusion and it's command over celestial gates. Durandal has the powerful ability, to fuse with any celestial key and gain it's power for a duration. The power it gains fully depends on the key the blade has fused with. Durandal can do this, thanks to originating from the celestial world, granting it powers regular swords could never have. The blade is recognized by any celestial spirit, due to it's legacy in the celestial world.

Durandal isn't really made of metal found in the human world, except the handle of the blade, which is made from adamantium, with a golden trim. Otherwise, the blade is blue in color, signifying it's different origin. This gives the weapon quite the durable nature, the name even comes from it being so durable. Though the weapon isn't considered part of any element or affiliation, due to it's fusing ability and it's special make up, the blade is celestial in nature, just like a spirit.

The usage of Durandal is quite hard, due to it's size. The blade is 5 feet long, not the biggest great sword, but nothing small either. It's width, is a whole foot, making the blade quite massive in size, and giving it an easy chance to parry attacks from lesser weapons. Jayce's usage of the weapon is quite masterful, due to the many years using it, but sometimes still has problem with it's massive size.

    Strengths:

    • Reach: Durandal is massive in size, giving it a great reach.
    • No element: Durandal has no element tied to it, making elemental weakness not exist for the blade.
    • Storage: Due to it's celestial origin, Durandal can be stored in it's own pocket dimension.

    Weaknesses:

    • Close range: Durandal is still a melee weapon and won't be of much use in long range fights.
    • Size: The size of the blade can make it cumbersome to use, especially in tight areas.
    • Celestial Keys: Without Celestial Keys, Durandal's real power can't be accessed. This forces the user of the blade, to carry around celestial keys and limit what magic they can use.
    • Breakable: Durandal will be taken out for a thread, if hit by a S-rank or higher spell directly.

    Abilities:

    • Sentient: Durandal is somewhat sentient, but only enough, to be able to answer commands from the user, regarding to celestial spirits.
    • Celestial Feel: All Celestial Spirits or Celestial Mages, will understand that Durandal is Celestial in nature.
    • Storage: Durandal can be stored in it's own pocket dimension and if pulled out, the blade seems to be hold there in chains, which can be seen while being pulled out. The blade can be stored there or taken out at any time.

    Name:Celestial Fusion
    Rank:D-rank (Grows until S-rank)
    Duration: 3 posts
    Cooldown: 4 posts
Description: After picking out a key, from the user's primary magic, Durandal will fuse with the key, granting the blade the powers of the spirit, who can be summoned by that key. The powers of what each spirit gives, are marked within Jayce's primary magic.
    Strengths:

    • Let the Power Flow: Durandal gains new powers and different powers from a celestial key for a duration.
    • Powerhouse: Golden Keys can have amazing buffs for the blade.
    • Instant: The fuse is instant, making it possible to use in the middle of combat.

    Weaknesses:

    • Keys: The user needs to have celestial summon as their primary magic, otherwise this spell is useless.
    • No Actives: Durandal can only gain passive buffs from the fusion.
    • Weaknesses: Each key also gives Durandal a hindering weakness, that needs to be worked around in combat.
    • Cooldowns: When fused with Durandal, the key used can be on cooldown, though the key will be placed on full cooldown, after the fusion ends. This gives the ability an almost double cooldown, with it's basic 4 post cooldown and then the celestial key's cooldown. Though they don't stack, after 4 posts, the fusion is usable again.
    • Thread limit: Durandal can only fuse with one key once per thread, there is no way it can fuse for example with Leo's key twice in a thread.

    Name:Drag Out
    Rank:D-rank
Duration: Half of the duration of the Celestial Key being dragged out. (This is averaged down, so if the duration of a spirit is 5, it will be out for 2 posts, not 3.)
    Cooldown: 5 posts
Description: The user commands Durandal to drag out a celestial spirit, who's key the user knows is in the thread. After the command, Durandal sends chains from it into the celestial spirit world, wrapping them around the target spirit and pulling them out. This is quite brutal in nature, but the blade was sort of twisted in hell, so this ability is the offspring of the twisted nature it has gotten. Drag out can't bring out another spirit, if two are in play already, but as the drag out bypasses some requirements, the spirit pulled out, is weaker and stays on the field less, than a spirit that is summoned.
    Strengths:

    • Free Spirit: The spirit pulled out doesn't cost anything.
    • Drag Out: It can drag out another celestial mages spirit, if the user knows of it's existence IC.
    • Instant: The drag out happens instantly, granting a spirit very quickly.

    Weaknesses:

    • Golden Keys: Golden Keys can't be dragged out, due to their power.
    • Damage: The drag out deals damage to the spirit, causing them to be able to take one hit. The hit depends on the rank of the spirit, aka, a C-rank spirit dragged out, can only take one C-rank hit.
    • Cooldown: A spirit on cooldown can't be dragged out.
    • Relationship: The drag out may cause the spirit to be quite annoyed and not answer the commands of it's owner.
    • Actives: Actives are banned from usage on the spirits.
