Personality: Growing up in a small fishing village surrounded by waterfalls, rainbows were a recurring sight for the youthful Niji. He was easily awed by their beauty & had felt what seemed to be a strong connection with them. Not matter what mood he seemed to be in, it just seemed that Niji had to look above him to see all the blessings that were bestowed upon him. His parents were often concerned, not understanding how their son obtained such a unnaturally colored mane, & felt that it tied in with his peculiar obsession, but just didn't know how. Niji was a very popular boy in his village, always seeming to be playing with a different child everyday. He was also very notorious for leading all of his friends into mischief. Niji will never admit that hes wrong, even if the whole world is against him. People may call it confidence, or arrogance, but Niji likes to see it as complete confidence in his decisions. He is extremely loyal to his friends & family, & is willing to even lay his life on the line to protect them. His loyalty has been tested many times, being tempted by darker paths, but his decisions have never even wavered. Whatever is best for his community is what he feels should happen. Niji has never been able to stay in one place for too long, always looking to go out on an adventure! This has gotten him into some bad situations that could've cost him his life, but never panics & always finds a way out, rather its fighting his way out, or sweet talking a little bit. A major thing about Niji is his love for competition. No matter how big the task, he can always find a way challenge all of his friends. Niji will always find a way to win, even if that involves cheating, & when he does win, you'll never hear the end of it. Niji LOVES to boast & playfully rub it in you face when you lose to him & the very, VERY few times he does lose, he tends to... forget... about it & will never bring it up again. Niji jokes around with people often & sometimes at the wrong time. This may cause people to be angered with Niji but he always finds a way to bring them back on his side. Even if Niji accomplishes a very small task he will blow it out of proportion greatly. He could make finishing his chores seem like slaying a dragon. Niji finally left his village when a vision of a rainbow leading him to an unknown destination appeared to him in his dreams. He took this as his time to move on to better things & said his goodbyes to his village at 16, promising to come back & visit, always being their protector. He's been journeying since then, making friends across the land & using a rainbow in the sky as his visual key, knowing that at the end, his new life will begin.

Even though Niji was not the most skilled fighter, his adventures have led him into some sticky situations with only one way out. Niji has never been one to back down from a fight, always having the utmost confidence that not a single enemy could trump him. There was a skilled fighter in his old village that kind of mentored Niji. His name was Taki, the Brawler. He was well known & very respected in the village, & Niji visited him almost every day. He learned a lot about fighting & a lot about life from him.

When it comes to leadership, Niji has definitely never been a follower, & has always really written his own book. Because of his great amount of confidence, he never has problems voicing his own opinion because its always right! Growing up all of his friends seemed to look at him for decisions & he never minded. He just accepted his role as the leader. Even with his amount of pride & stubbornness, Niji will still follow orders of those above him to some extent..  

Likes:
His Friends- Niji lives for his friends because without them he feels he would be nothing. Accepting everybody & loving the ones that stay close to him, Niji is loyal to the bone.
Winning- Niji loves winning in all aspects. Who doesnt? Trying to make every little thing competitive, Niji is not afraid to rub a win in your face, & completely disregard a loss.
Activities- Niji has a lot of trouble sitting around, always wanting to go out for an adventure.
Rainbows- Ever since what seems like birth, Niji has been captivated by the beauty of rainbows.

Dislikes:
Losing- Hating the very word, on the rare occasions that Niji does lose in a competition, he will deny it & never bring it up again.
Being Seen as Weak- Niji works hard to keep up his reputation of being strong & manly. He is driven away by things that are "cute" & would distort that image.
Things Being Slow- Niji likes everything to happen right now, & can't stand people or events that unnecessarily slow down a task.

Motivations:
Being the Best- Niji wants to prove to everyone that he's the best wizard who has ever lived!

No matter what mood he was in, Niji found himself calmed when even gazing upon the multicolored natural miracles. His parents were often concerned, not understanding how their son obtained such unnaturally colored eyes, & felt that it tied in with his peculiar obsession.

At the age of ten Niji's parents sent him out of the country's boarder to train as a mage and after a several weeks journey he finally arrived at Noppera-bo Academy. At this point in his life Niji was confused and angry. He no longer had the luxury of looking up at the rainbows anymore, but instead was confined to a dorm room, lifelessness and dread filling the air inside. One day during a group practice the emotions he had bottled up spilled out into the room. Overwhelmed by his fear of never living a normal life again, yellow light shot through his body spreading the same fear to his classmates as they scurried away. He shouted as the light flashed from yellow to red, letting anger overtake his fear. With an emittance of green coming last he was able to gain the will to calm himself down. After this outbreak he was immediately taken and seated in front of an older man of what could be presumed to be high stature. "Sir.. I.. I'm sorry.." The man silenced him before he could finish. "Your emotions are powerful, but you lack the ability to control them, as is the same for the majority of people." He paused. "But you are not to be like the majority of people. I will take you on personally as my student and teach you how to harness the power of said emotions. Report back here tomorrow to begin your training. I am Noppera-bo."

Niji trained with the owner of the academy from this point until the age of 16. During this time he learned many lessons both in life and in combat. The ability to not mask, but control his emotions left his personality rather lacking. As the years pushed forward he seemed to become more and more emotionless. Early on in his training Noppera-bo gave him a crystal earring with rainbow colors reflecting from it. He told him that as long as he was wearing it, his feelings would be contained, but if it was removed the only thing standing between him and his fear, rage, love, compassion and all other expressions alike was himself. After six years of training, Noppera-bo released Niji from his overview, concluding that he had nothing left to teach the teenage student. With his release he thanked his mentor for everything he taught him and went back to the only other place familiar to him. Mubero.

Reunited with his family he forgave them for all the decisions they had made regarding his life, understanding that they felt they had to send him off. He stayed in Mubero, taking the role of the city's protector and enjoyed the quietness as he raised his head to gaze at the rainbows.

But the world had much more in store for the complacent Niji, undenounced to him.

His Friends- Niji did not have friends through his childhood. Making new ones and keeping the friendships he already has is important to him.
Meditation- It is important for Niji to stay tranquil. He spends a lot of his down-time meditating to keep his emotions in check.
Fashion- Niji oddly cares a lot about his external appearance. He is enamored by expensive and flashy clothing/jewelry.
Nature- Ever since what seems like birth, Niji has been captivated by the beauty of rainbows. He also feels drawn toward other beauties that nature has to offer.

Dislikes:
Loneliness- He is fine with being alone but true loneliness sparks his anxiety.
Being Seen as Weak- Niji works hard to keep up his reputation of being strong, or at least being perceived as strong.
Arrogance- Niji thinks that arrogance is disgusting. As someone who is in control of his emotions he understands that arrogance is always a veil.

Instability of Emotions- Niji's biggest fear is getting into a situation in which he can not control his emotions. As his power is harnessed through emotions he takes major precautions before expressing how he feels.
Helplessness- As with any other person, it drives him crazy to be in a situation in which he is rendered useless. He will sometimes do too much to try and involve himself in situations where he is not needed.
Abandonment- Being shipped away at a young age left Niji with some abandonment issues. This causes him to quickly assume the worst of people.

He is very noticeable by his snowy white hair, rainbow colored eyes, scar above his right eye and indistinguishable rainbow prism earring.
