A rhythmic thumping sound, much like a heart beat, pulsated from behind, and in front of the two mages. Triatath stopped dead in the forest, even he could now smell the intense odor emanating from both sides of the forest. The rain slowed but the wind continued it's buffeting. It was dark in this area of the forest as the sun was blocked out by the thick rain clouds above them. Triatath turned around, a pair of glowing eyes met him several feet above his head. The hulking behemoth breathing heavily and standing completely still. The stomping had stopped. He backed up towards Haretsa and stayed close to her back. "I'll take the one behind you, you take the other one. If they have the girl, try not to kill her please?" Triatath cracked his neck, spinning it around in a circular motion.
A crack of lightening struck a nearby tree starting a smoking sizzle which was held at bay by the rain drenching the hunk of knotted wood which was previously a tall oak. Triatath scratched his head. The green fur which the creature was constantly shedding, seemed to indicate that this was a forest Vulcan, they usually travel in pairs and they smell like the dead in rain. Triatath picked up two large, razor sharp stones at his sides, readying them in his hands. As the hulking creature stepped out, Triatath smirked, held his hands towards the beast and whispered "Sonic boom" The two stones soared at high speed, meeting their mark at either sides of the massive animal's face, piercing both of it's eyes, blinding it. The creature flailed around grabbing at it's eyes in an attempt to pry out the stones but only lodged them in further. Triatath stood there with his hands burnt, Roxy leaped out of his pocket to heal the injuries he had sustained. Lightening snapped again, crisply splitting the sounds of the battle. Triatath stepped back as the Vulcan rampaged towards him, He barely managed to dodge it's attacks as it flailed it's way forwards, the rain turning the blood on his face into a waterfall. Triatath concentrated on the vulcan's movements, memorizing the way in which it attacked.
The seething mass of anger which used to be the vulcan, smashed it's head against the electrified remains of a tree, recently struck by lightening. Two bloody spearhead shaped stones fell to the ground with a large *thud*. Triatath watched as it opened it's eyes to stare at him blankly. It's vision seemed to be impaired, if not, the creature was permanently blind. But obviously it knew where Triatath was. It couldn't be the smell, that had washed off in the rain, I am not making much noise, plus the loud sound of the rain should disguise most of that... Triatath peered around. The vulcan had it's tongue out, tasting the air, searching for him. Clearly it could find him if he was standing still. Triatath still had quite a formidable enemy to fight. "how you doing over there?" Triatath yelled over to Haretsa without loosing eye contact with the vulcan. Triatath sighed and prepared for a long battle as lightening flashed, illuminating the area.
