Ivy's face lighted up as Elijah began to speak of her sudden growth in power, despite her still being really new to the guild. She felt warm inside knowing that she pleased the guild master, someone who is too important and shouldn't acknowledge a petty member like her. As she continued listening he began to explain a mission, which she began listening on intently. She was to get a book from a group of three, and the three in question can be dealt with however she desires so long as they don't go back to Basilisk Fang. She looked at the papers and pictures. They were in a camp actually not far from the guild, and she wondered how they could have not noticed a giant guild on the same mountain their camp was based in. One man was big- giant at that. He wasn't a nine foot tall monster but he was big compared to most men that Ivy has encountered, and was muscular at that. He looked to be more of a military veteran than a hunter, but a demon hunter fit the description perfectly. Another man had grey hair and was smaller, and was regular sized. Despite being grey-haired he seemed really young, sporting a green jacket and blue jeans, and having steel-grey eyes that peered into the soul of those he looked at. Lastly there was someone who looked really old, he had a beard and was very frail-looking. He had a scar over his right eye and it was milky white, and he too had white hair. This white hair was slicked back and made him look like someone from the 80s. Not hard people to identify, Ivy thought.
As Elijah finished talking Ivy bowed in respect. "Y-Yes sir! I'll get that book here and I'll make sure no one follows. You won't be sad with me!" without really waiting for a response Ivy ran out the door, and went back to where she was asleep. Ivy grabbed Aether, her sword, and then ran over to the doors of the guild hall, and then out those doors. She felt no cold whatsoever, which was strange even for her. She couldn't normally feel intense cold to the point of shivering, and it was normally nothing more than the feeling of an air conditioner, but she still felt it nonetheless. This signified it was freezing outside, because if someone who is immune to the cold can actually feel such things, it would show that this was intense. This is how it was every day at Basilisk Fang, but today she couldn't feel anything which was odd, and even the snow wasn't a blizzard and was more of a small light snow. Ivy shrugged, and began trotting off.
Ivy went down the mountain and to the west, watching her step for she was barefooted and there was broken tree fragments and rocks everywhere. This led her feet to start to bleed, and yet so she didn't mind. Ivy tolerated the minor injuries, because much like weather conditions minor pain didn't phase her at all. With this Ivy still knew that getting injuries prior to a possible fight is bad, so she still watched her step. After about an hour she went about a kilometer, considering she was just walking and didn't try to go at all that fast. She enjoyed the snowy forest along the mountain, the scenery and all of that. Finally she reached her destination, it was a small camp with four tents. It was odd, because there was only suppose to be three people. Ivy saw the old man perched up on a tree, with a gun in his hand. He seemed to be watching over the camp, so that no one could attack.
This meant that he was out of his tent, and Ivy couldn't locate the other two so that meant that they were either in theirs or out in the woods. She slowly crept up behind one of the tents from the woods, and pushed up the bottom to look inside. The big man just walked out the tent, which Ivy found lucky considering he was in the tent three seconds ago and it could have caused great trouble. She snuck under the flap she pulled up, and began looking around his tent for anything that looked like a book. She found nothing but clothes, a table and desk, and a bed. She pulled open the flap that was the entrance to the big man's tent, and looked out. He was nowhere to be found, and the younger man whom was probably in his twenties walked out of his tent and went to the tree where the old man was perched. The younger began to talk to the elder, and then they started joking around. Ivy ran to the younger man's tent and searched through it. The same was found in this tent that was found in the bigger man's tent, and this led Ivy to start to think that no such book exists in their camp, considering they all just had the same things in their tents. Ivy knew if she came back empty handed Elijah would be disappointed and possibly angry with her, so she was going to avoid that possibility in its entirety.
Ivy left the tent in secret, then saw another tent that was furthest from the others. It seemed as if they wanted it away from their tents to hide it, despite it not being hidden that well at all. Ivy dashed over to it, luckily avoiding breaking twigs as she ran through the trees to avoid the sniper's gaze. She entered it and there it was. Sitting on a desk was a black book with what looked like a diary's lock on it. When Ivy tried smacking the butt of her sword against such lock to break it, nothing happened. Ivy then remembered it had a seal on it, so that lock was what she guessed it was.
Ivy kept the small book in one hand, and then drew her sword in the other. Suddenly she heard a scream, or moreso a yell. The people were being rallied up and one stormed into the tent, catching Ivy by surprise. "THEY'RE IN HERE!!!!" The giant man yelled, and Ivy just now noticed something. Despite herself having natural regeneration she still left her footprints in the snow and stained with blood, leading her to be tracked. They were demon hunters, so they obviously should have had some experience in tracking. The giant man put his hand behind his back and drew a giant Zweihänder. The sword came down on the ground in front of the girl in front of him, in attempt to intimidate her. "Little girl you shouldn't be in here. That book is ours and you need to return it. Now." As he said this the younger man went in the tent as well, and he drew a katana from his side. "Well here we go. Let's just kill her and get it over with. I'm tired of waiting." he dashed forward and slashed at Ivy, who just retorted with ducking and running away into the center of the camp. She began running off with the book until...
BAM.
A bullet wound appeared in Ivy's arm. She screamed in pain, but after a moment she began laughing creepily. Ivy grabbed Aether and pulled it behind her back, then let it go like an elastic band. It came and whipped the old man in the face, causing him to fall to the ground and start bleeding. She ran over to him, and wrapped the sword around his neck.
"Hi there! You look like a puppy, a puppy that's bleeding from his face and is super old! I love it!!!" She yanked the sword, and each blade of the whip blade cut his throat, but despite this he stayed alive, which Ivy thought was strange. The man grabbed his gun and fired off two more rounds, one missing Ivy in her entirety and the other hitting her in the ribs. Ivy screamed again, and she started to bleed a bit more heavily, but nothing too dire at the moment. Ivy stabbed the sword in the ground, and it came up and stabbed the man through the chest. Afterward she retracted it and sliced him four times with it in its base sword form. The old man barely reacted during all this, for he just seemed awestruck that a little girl could do so much damage, and could actually possibly take his life. With his last breath the man pointed behind Ivy, and she turned to see the two swordsmen slow clapping and laughing.
"So you took out the old man eh? Cool for a child, you'll be an interesting kill." The younger man said.
[color:c243=cc00cc]"You guys are demon and devil hunters right? Well have you ever seen a demon or devil slayer? They're really neat!" Ivy said enthusiastically. She waved her hand, then began speaking the spell. "Angelic Wind Blade Dance!" She yelled as three blades of wind appeared and sliced the man with the Zweihänder through the chest. It caught him off guard, so he didn't react. However he now jumped, and brought the giant sword down, not aiming for intimidation, but aiming to kill. Ivy blocked the attack, but was becoming weaker due to blood loss. Her wounds were healing, but not all the way. She activated the sword's Despair Forme, then wrapped it around the giant sword and disarmed the big man. She whipped it at the katana-weilding man, but he dodged it easily. Without a weapon, the big man resorted to his fists, and then dashed towards Ivy. Sadly, so did the younger man. Ivy found this as an opportunity and ducked, being narrowly stepped over by the big man, whom got sliced by the katana. She jumped up and started giggling at the two.
"You two are really dummies aren't you!? Bet ya can't catch me!" Ivy ran off and was followed. She turned around and activated her wind lockdown, imprisoning the bigger man. Her sword's ability activated, in which it broke apart and all attacked him, and although he was stabbed numerous times in various different places he still survived, and to that Ivy pouted. Her sword was forming itself back together, so Ivy decided to deal with the katana man. He slashed at her vertically, and then she let loose another spell. Much like the barrier Ivy set around the big man, she set a barrier around herself which bounced off the blade. This gave time for the bullet wounds to finish healing as much as her regeneration would allow, but she still felt woozy and there was still minor versions of each wound. Ivy put her hands above her waist, and a blue light emitted from them. The wound after a few seconds closed entirely, and she felt much much better. With the sword back together and her wounds healing, the barrier broke. A katana barely missed her chest, and the white-haired young man prepared himself for whatever Ivy had. Ivy put her sword in partial despair forme, and then whipped it multiple times at the man. Each time it was deflected, and he went in for the kill once Ivy was open, or moreso open as he saw it.
Ivy had this attack planned, for she saw the wind barrier around the big veteran man had dissipated. The giant man jumped up and was about to bring his sword down while Ivy toyed with his associate. Normally this would have worked, Ivy would have been caught off guard and essentially killed, but it was Ivy herself who dissipated the wind barrier. She wrapped her sword around the man's arm, the one with the sword in it at that, and Ivy took a blow to exchange one. Ivy was stabbed through the stomach, it being a miracle he didn't hit anything fatal. She coughed up blood and screamed, while simultaneously the veteran stabbed the young man through the back with his sword. It missed Ivy, luckily and the young man yelled out loud. Ivy jerked her hand backwards, slicing up his arm multiple times. As the entirety of the whip was off of his arm, she retracted it to its base form. She sliced him twice in the face and stabbed him through the throat, ending his life in a hurry. The man with the Zweihänder was what Ivy didn't plan for, considering he was still in optimal condition compared to Ivy herself. Ivy screamed in agony as she pulled the sword from her body, and then fell on her butt. The man readied his sword and Ivy muttered out quietly. "Angelic Wind.... Dragon Dance..." As she said this three twisters flew at the man, hitting him flat in the chest. He went flying and dropped his sword.
Ivy walked over to the man, and stepped so that they met eye to eye. "Ha you guys lose... I wonder if I look as cute as you do.... You look so scared and yet you still look brave, it's adorable!" Ivy never lost an inch of her true nature, despite herself being damaged beyond ever before. She grabbed Aether and stabbed the veteran in his stomach. She went over to the book which lay on the ground, picked it up and began trotting back over to the guild.
The walk back to the guild took 90 minutes, and she didn't realize how long it took entirely. It took Ivy little under 3 hours to complete the task that Elijah had assigned her to do. She walked into the guild hall, then into Elijah's office. She confronted her guild master, blood on her mouth from coughing up it, a blood-stained blouse and a hole in her stomach, as well as a bullet wound from her arm that hadn't healed. Her regenerative powers had reached their peak within the fight, so she couldn't do much to heal herself up.
Ivy rested the book on his desk, it was a bit wet from the snow and had blood on it, but it was nothing major. "H-Hey there big brother.... I did what you asked, I hope you're proud of me! I got the book... And beat those guys... I took a long time I'm sorry..... Please..... don't be mad....." With this last statement Ivy passed out on the guild master's office's floor, exhausted after the fight with three men whom each actually outclassed her in strength, but Ivy's intellect and luck prevailed this time.
