Personality A Nao by itself is not usually lacklustre when it comes to personality. Eccentric and goofy, these little fellows are known to go off on their own in mere curiosity. They are seen as pretty vulnerable when alone, often looking around to make sure they’re not going to become prey. However their minds are usually pretty secure, having been lnked to the Machine God that they believe in. This belief in their creator isn’t religious, however. It’s just that they’re thankful for existing because of the ability to create them. When Nao’s are together their mental ability increases by a huge amount. When you see a number of Naos together you know they’ll be plotting or planning, despite the continuous arguments they make (and they sure do like to argue amongst themselves a lot). Usually when they’re together they come up with really creative plans and ideas, taking what they can all see in the area and working out how to use it effectively. This is where their teamwork and resourcefulness comes in to play. Naos are also very clumsy at times. Having stayed in a lab facility where it’s all safe and cozy for a long time, the dextrous ability of a Nao is somewhat diminished compared to the average mage. Shots are more likely to miss, tripping is more likely to occur on bumpy surfaces, and even not paying attention to their surroundings when alone can cause a problem. Naos are also used to hiding their identity as a clone, resorting to either being as charismatic and diplomatic as possible, or becoming a goof and a klutz to try and make sure that they are not seen as different to another one of their cloned brethren. This is pretty good at keeping people paying attention to one of them while the others do their work elsewhere. Sacrifice is also important to a Naos routine. Giving up their time, abilities, or even their life for the cause of preserving the secrecy of the lab, and of the Machine God. They are used to being disposable and will fight tooth and nail to make sure that the lives of the many is protected by giving up the life of a few. In combat Nao isn’t much of a leader more than a command centre. Summoning a number of Naos to assist in gathering information and coming up with strategies. They do not really like too much deviation from the main goal, but creativity from the use of information is usually welcomed. Naos will sacrifice themselves to protect their team mates, usually giving up their life in return of protecting their comrades or securing a goal. When following Naos are completely compliant, as if to not give away the fact that they aren’t really the main being. They are loyal and won’t break out of that for any kind of monetary or hostage situation. Since they believe that sacrifice is the way forward, they will often give themselves up as the distraction or bait in any kind of situation. No matter how dangerous or embarrassing the situation is. Likes and dislikes Likes: 1.Collecting: Information, stories, artefacts, anything to take back and store in the lab is something that a Nao likes. 2. Studying psyches: Being able to determine how a person reacts to something is a delight to Naos and remembering it is best implemented to either make someone befriend him, or to torment someone. 3.Comarades: Nao likes other Naos. He also sees long term friends and allies as part of the collective. 4. Adventure: Nao doesn’t care what the reason may be for someone going somewhere, just as long as he has an adventure he could write or talk about afterwards. Also adventure leads to treasure. Dislikes: 1.Getting found out.: The fact that he is one of many is a secret he would keep until the time it needs to be shown. Being revealed early unnerves him. 2. Betrayal: You can see why Nao only really listens to other Naos. Betrayal is a pretty common situation in the real world. And he really dislikes those who would divulge his secrets. 3. Poor intel: Finding something isn’t right leads to poor executions of plans, and could lead them towards their peril. Nao doesn’t like this one bit. 4.Diminised senses: From having a stuffy nose, to going completely blind? Nao hates all these kinds of senses that would really cause him a lot of problems. Motivations: 1.Sacrifice: All Naos desire to sacrifice themselves in the name of protecting their other brethren and the lab. It’s something they are created with, and an innate want to carry it out. 2. Discovering further abilities: Every mage wants to better their spells right? 3. Find a cure for death: After losing a dear friend to an illness, Nao wants to discover how to reverse death. Fears: 1.Losing the lab : Naos want to protect the lab, so they fear it being destroyed. This could be used to cause all sorts of problems. 2. Losing purpose: Without their motivations, what are they but just a fleshy hulk of nothing. 3. Slaughter of his people:[/i] Sure losing a couple of them every year is bad. But a mass genocide? The thoughts and concerns are usually swept away, but they’re there. They’re there in every mind of every Nao. General Appearance Height: Usually a Nao 5’11”, give or take a few inches. Chibi ones can appear at ¼ of that size. Weight: 175lbs, again give or take some weight. Chibi Naos are ½ the weight. Hair: Brown, shaped to avoid his eyes. Eyes: Brown Skin Tone: Light olive Appearance: Naos usually have full set of clothes covering him, and sometimes even a bandana or headband to cover up even more of him. It’s rare for him to show skin, unless it’s his hands, or he is somewhere where he needs to cover them.
