The Rarest Flower [Job]

Alito took his first step into the Spooky Forest. Not that it was that spooky, but it was literally named 'Spooky Forest.' As he took his first few steps, he remembered what the client had told him in Magnolia.

"My worker refuse to go. They all seem to believe it's haunted for some reason. Pitiful, really. They have no backbone."

The man swung around to face Alito. He was the owner of a medical shop in Magnolia, and it was no surprise why people held the establishment in such high regard. The walls were lined with shelves. The shelves were lined with medicines of all kinds, many of which Alito had no idea what they did, but knew they had a huge price tag on them.

"But you are a wizard, non? You will fare much better, for the elusive white recluse! The only flower with the abilities I desire! Here is a picture, you will find it, non?"

The man spoke faster than Alito could respond. Before Alito gave any time of affirmation he was shooed out of the shop and sent on his way. He folded the picture and put it away, then headed out for the Spooky Forest.

Now that he was here, he did not understand what the fuss was about. There was nothing here that would attack him. He continued, as the flower was known to best grow towards the center of the forest.

As he continued, he swore he heard rumbling from the bushes around him. Everytime he looked though, he saw nothing. Surely, it is just the paranoia. A Super-Heavy Champion would not let a Shop Keeper's word bother him! He moved in his direction, inspecting flowers as he went. They came in all shapes, sizes and colors, but none in the stark white he was looking for. A rustling in the bush behind him had him turn around quickly, approaching it, he saw...

'Monster Dice' :

Three goblins jumped Alito from the bush, but he was prepared and backed off. They looked at him, one puzzled and another angry. The third seemed the most off-putting, as it was scratching its but and not paying any mind to anything else. The angry one let out some gibberish, causing the other two to look to it. The goblin pointed at Alito, shouting something angrily.

"Now, now little ones. Don't be upset. A Super-Heavy Champion does not impede on lands not his own. I only wish to find a flower." Alito pulled out the picture of the flower. As he did, the goblins jumped back, afraid of his movements. "This picture. This flower. Could you help me?"

The leader goblin slowly approached. Alito thought it was to get a better look at the picture, but as soon as he let it get close, it pounced and the other two did behind it as well!

'Block Dice' :

Alito was not prepared for that! The leader jumped on his chest, biting into him. He got his arms up and managed to bludgeon the other two, which sent them flying in opposite directions. The leader was still on his chest though, and Alito could feel him trying to dig his teeth into him. Alito grabbed its back, pulling it off of him. He could feel his shirt rip, as the goblin got its teeth into it as he pulled.

"Now that's not very nice, fella!" Alito said. "What did I ever do to you?" He put it on the ground again, though it was still snarling. Its friends had appeared again, though both seemed a little more timid than they had before. The leader garbled out something else, and looked to the other two. They split, leaving Alito to have to shift his focus on the three, never being able to see all three at once.

'Block Dice' :

All three jumped at once, and as Alito had expected, he could not block them all. He was again able to bludgeon two of them, causing one of the lackeys to be knocked out when he landed, but now there was one on his back. He tried his best to pull it off, but it he could not grab a hold of it. He shook violently, but the creature would not fall off. The goblin on the ground started to laugh. "Sure, this is funny to you" Alito said, "but I a Super-Heavy Champion does not get mocked!" He swung one more time. He didn't want to take such a drastic move, but if he had too he would.

Alito fell back. This surprised both Goblins, as the one on his back got squished beneath him. Alito felt his grip let go, and stood, seeing it knocked out on the ground. "Well then, that leaves you buddy." The leader goblin started to panic; Alito could see it in his eyes. He ran to one goblin, then the other, revealing they had both lost consciousness. The little guy looked up at Alito, his eyes tearful. He shouted something or another, and then ran in the direction he had come from.

Alito scratched his head. Well, at least that's over. He picked up both knocked out goblins, and sat them under a tree. "Sorry guys. Looks like you're wrapped up in the wrong crowd. I'd leave some food out for you, but I'm afraid wolves would find you. I hope you wake up soon." Alito then continued in the way he initially set out for, intent on finding said flower.

Alito admired the forest around him. He wondered where it had gotten the name spooky from. Sure, a lot of the trees were missing leaves, and the wildlife was a little rough, but surely it could have another name. Barebark Alito thought Or even Noleaf Forrest would be better. He continued, coming to a clearing. His eyes lit up! Was that the flower he was looking for?

Alito came closer, inspecting it. He pulled out the picture once more comparing them. He didn't even here it was something crept up behind him...

'Monster Dice' :

Suddenly, Alito heard squeaking. He looked behind him, to find four little goblins glaring at him. He noticed the scuff marks on the one furthest back. It gestured at him, and said something angrily.

"Now listen pal" Alito said "You're the one who jumped me. There's no need to be upset."

The goblins looked up at him, and they looked anything but happy. Perhaps they looked even angrier than before. Alito just wanted this job to be over with, and to stop being attacked by small woodland creatures. The hopped up and down, squeaking at each other, as though they were deciding what to do.

Alito took that moment to pick the flower. Sure, he'd have to fight one handed if the goblins jumped him, but he figured he could deal with it. He began to step backwards, hoping to get out of sight of the goblins. Just as he did, he heard a squeal from the fourth. He had spotted them! Alito looked to see the three chasing after him, and the goblin from before heading back into the bushes. Alito figured he could outrun them, but they jumped at him. Would they be able to hit him before he got away?

'Damage Dice' :

Two of them clawed at his arms, and Alito felt them scratch. He was barely able to save the flower. He turned to face them, the third catching up to his comrades. He had a scowl on his face, and towered over the goblins to intimidate them.

"I've had enough of your silly games. There is no need for this. A Super-Heavy Champion does not need to be pestered."

He stepped towards them, but these goblins were more cautious than their previous compatriots. Alito took another step, and they stepped back again, each one watching him carefully. He stepped to his left, they stepped to their right. He stepped right, they stepped left. They weren't going to let him leave, let alone make a move. He would have to do something that countered them, something they couldn't copy.

Alito prepared himself. He took a deep breath, and watched the goblins growl in return. He hadn't really had to use his magic so far on any of his jobs, but now was as good as time as ever, he decided.

"A Super Heavy Champion values his offense! Requip! Super Heavy Sempill Ultra Greastsword!"

A magic circle appeared in front of Alito, and he reached into it, pulling the seven foot sword out, and then swung it above his head, so it pointed to the sky.

"You've done it now. A Super-Heavy Champion never brings out his sword, unless he intends to use it. Ultra Great Swing!"

Alito brought his second hand to the sword, careful not to squish the flower. He then brought the sword to his side, and swung it in a huge arc in front of him. The goblins jumped out of reach of the sword, but were not prepared for the shockwave that emanated from it. All three flew back, each hitting separate trees. Alito didn't need to look to see that they were down for the count. That attack would make even a wizard dizzy if they were struck, let alone little goblins. He put the sword on his shoulder and looked out at the forest.

He didn't like this. The goblins were too aggressive, and he had used his sword now. He could put it back, but it would be a little time before he could bring it back out. He decided he would keep it. Maybe it would scare off any other would-be predators anyways.

Alito got a little lost, but eventually found his way back. He checked the flower. It seemed as fresh as when he had picked it. He wondered what magical properties it could possibly hold. He seemed invigorated, maybe it has some kind of strength-enhancing properties? Perhaps he could purchase said elixir when he returned.

He opened the door, and not a second later the shop owner was in his face and talking.

"Ou ou ou! That is it! The rarest flower! I shall be rich again! None of the other elixirs in this shop can hold a candle to it."

Alito opened his mouth and raised his hand. He knew he wouldn't get a word out, but hoped it would gather the shopkeepers attention.

"Ah yes, the payment, non? Here, just as promised."

Alito took his jewels, but opened his mouth one more time.

"You must be curious as to the effects of this flower, non? Ou ou. I will tell you, but it must be a secret, yes?"

Alito opened his mouth to respond one last time, but was cut off again.

"It is a hair extender! I could not keep such luscious locks without it. Of course, long hair is out of style, non? So I must cut it immediately. But I would not have such personality without my hair."

Alito decided to leave before he was drawn into a story. Disappointed in the elixir's effect, he just decided to head home. The walk to Hargeon would take a while, and he could reflect then.
