Anguis despised nature. She was more of a city girl who floundered around crowded shopping centers where a social butterfly such as herself could thrive. Out here in the wild, she had to deal with awful mosquitos, the terrible mud that dirtied her clothing, and all the animals that wanted to kill her. The rattle at the end of her tail went off several times just to keep any suspecting beast at bay. She got her tail slightly cut up on all the twigs and stones that she slithered over, only adding to her misery. Ordinarily, she would have turned back, but she was determined to find her cousin and her new friends that had ditched her. It would have been a great moment to prove she wasn’t so fragile or losable for that matter and was certain she could prove herself to be a great asset. She just had to find the three first…
Enola gasped as the lion’s roar knocked her back several feet. Reiaki, however, stood firm and jumped under the beast, slicing his underbelly with a sword. The beast roared out and fell to its side but quickly regained it balance. The maid raised her dust hand and sent it flying toward the lion in an attempt to break its nose. There was something weird about attacking an animal so bluntly, but she swung the arm with full force. The lion, evidently, didn’t think it was too cute as he opened his large and impressive mouth to bite down on the dust arm, tearing it into more dust. All the dust fell to the ground as Enola’s spell had been defeated, leaving her to simply blink while the feeling of utter helplessness and uselessness grasped at her.
With Elyx being the closest, the grand lion attempted to pounce on the boy.
