At lunch the men had regained some enjoyment in Seikatsu's company when they saw him cry over the dead initiates. It made them feel as though he had a heart, and cared about his shipmates. He explained that he only cut down the men who tried to run because they posed a threat to the loyal crew. Seikatsu also told them, "I'll not hesitate to kill every last one of you if you're a liability." The crew was unnerved by that little bit of information, but was able to understand where Seikatsu was coming from.
Later in the day one of the initiates slipped from the ships railings, and split his skull on the dock's posts. This time Seikatsu didn't do anything to cause it, the man slipped on his own. Additionally, it wasn't him splitting his skull that killed him, it was him falling into the water, then getting tangled in the seaweed and drowning that killed him.
The crew tried to save the man, but by the time they untangled him the water was crimson, and he was dead. An argument could be made that he bled out, but no-one cared how he died, they were upset that another comrade died and they haven't even spent one day out of port.
Later that day, Seikatsu noticed one of the nine remaining men walking into the hold. He pressed his ear against the door to listen.
"Look, that Seikatsu guy.... I think he's the one who's killing everyone. I-I mean you saw him butcher those other guys and then... and then he took you down. There's no way he doesn't have the skill to sneak around and kill people. I mean, the ones who randomly drop dead, he could have poisoned them. Also, there was two guys who weren't here at all. When we went to check their room it looked like they jumped ship, but I think he set it up that way."
Seikatsu gently eased off the door, and walked away. 'There's a price for being smart... boi.' he said in his head.
