The Creation of a Family

So may thoughts swirled through Kakumas head as She open the packet she had gotten in the mail to day. It was all the form  she needed to adopt the Twins. She called over one of the guild staff and asked him to find the Twins and bring them to her office, they would need to fill the forms out before heading to Rose Garden. Kakuma got a head start on her Filling out her form the best she coulds. it asked all kinds of questions, like her job and her age. Kakuma frowned at the age part, she was only 19 and felt is was a bit young. Kakuma sighed and continued to fill out the form, waiting for the Twins to show up. Kakuma wanted to make sure this is what they wanted.

The two girls were found playing outside with some kids from town. They were kicking a ball around between them, laughing and having a a good time. Someone from the guild called to them, the girls waved to them and turned to the group and said their good byes before running off to meet the messenger. He escorted the girls to Kakuma's office where he excused  himself. The twins ran up and hugged her "Hi mommy!" they both exclaimed happily snuggling their adorable faces against her. Ariel's eye caught movement and she looked down at the stack of papers "More guild stuff mommy? you really work hard." she said smiling

Kakuma returned the hug as the girl ran over. "hello you two." Kakuma took in a deep breath, she had noted which on was which when she asked to adopt them. This was by scent, it was slight but the two smelled different. Kakuma ruffled Alies hair and Ariel spoke.

"More guild stuff mommy? you really work hard." Ariel asked.

"Not quite, this is... well boring paperwork that makes us a family." Kakuma wondered what they would say to that. "Stupid laws, but it mean you can take my last name if you wish." Kakuma smiled at the two and held out a pen. "all you have to do is sign here." Kakuma used her free hand to point to two lines on one of the sheets, "then we have to have some dope come in and talk with the three of us." Today was going to be long and boring, for both Kakuma and the twins, but Kakuma was kind of excited for the end of it. She was going to have family in this world, what would Fenris say.

The two girls signed the lines with their names. Though it was just Alie and Ariel, they didn't really bother putting their old last name now. "Why do we need to use your last name mommy? that doesn't make any sense." Alie asks innocently. Ariel looked down at the stack of paper work that would make them family. Neither her or her sister understood the point of using paperwork to decide family. The twins snuggled up to their mother happily. Filling out the paper work as needed. Once they were finished they looked at Kakuma "We love you Mommy." They declared in unison.

"In all honesty I'm Unsure as well, human do alot of things that that confuse me." Kakuma Smiles at the two again. "But i have found it best to just listen and do what they say is required." Kakuma sat down and watched as they did the their half of the paperwork, helping when asked.

"Why do we need to use your last name mommy? that doesn't make any sense." Alie asked causing Kakuma to laugh a little bit.

"You don't HAVE to but you can if you wish. If i remember correctly your last name is Blackwell, Mine is Blackflower. So if you wanted you could change it to mine to match." Kakuma stood up. "I will be right back, I'm going to get some food and something to drink." Kakuma left the room and headed to the guilds kitchen, where she made some sandwiches and got a container of juice with three cups. She returned to her office with the food and drink and set them on the table. "All done?" she poured the juice and set out food for them to eat.

the two girls scribbled out the paperwork on the desk. It was long and boring, they hated it. But Kakuma said it had to be done so the twins buckled down and did it. When she came back with juice and sandwiches they dug into them. Using a free hand to finish filling out the form. They also finished off their sandwiches and leaned back in their chairs. "Are we done mommy?" Ariel asked "Can we go play now?" Alie added. They were just kids after all.

Kakuma smiles at the Two, "well my dears, i have to go turn this paperwork into a office on the mainland. Do you wish to come with and have some fun after we are done. Perhaps get some food or something." Kakuma offered her hands to the twins, "Shall we go?" Kakuma was hoping that they would she didn't want to be stuck on the mainland alone.

the twins hopped out and nodded happily "yeahyeahyeah! lets go!" they said excitedly. They grabbed her hand as she lead the way. They always liked to travel and going somewhere with someone like Kakuma was bound to be fun. Or it could turn out horribly. Either way they knew something good was going to happen.
