Tattoo
Description:
- Appearance:
Strengths:
- Can't be stolen or taken, since they're a part of Akeya's body.
- Effects are always active.
- Don't have to worry about carrying an item around.
Weaknesses:
- They can't be taken by allies either, meaning only Akeya benefits from them.
- Sometimes it might be better to deactivate the effects, which isn't possible.
- For some people tattoos are considering a self-inflicted wound or even desecration of the body, which can cause people to react less friendly towards Akeya or think less of her.
- Seeing how they're located on Akeya's face she can't exactly hide them unless she's hiding her face as well.
- Unless Akeya is purposefully hiding her magic presence any mage worth their money can recognize the tattoos as containing magic.
Abilities:
- A-Rank:
The Marks of Kyokkou protect Akeya's eyes by limiting the amount of light they receive. Any light intensity above that which you would encounter during dawn or dusk is weakened to that level. Thanks to the fact that Akeya's eyes function just fine in darker areas this will allow her to still see as clearly as if it was noon without having to worry about being blinded. High light intensities are shown as everything becoming a lighter shade, so Akeya can still recognize when there's a bright light present and gauge the intensity. In PvP will not block blinding effects above Akeya's own Rank, capped at A-Rank.
- A-Rank:
The Marks of Kyokkou allow Akeya to see magic as if a normal part of the world. She can also discern between types of magic, since different types of magic can have different shapes, intensities, densities, colours, structure, and so on. However if looking at people with magic abilities she has to focus before she can properly discern what their magic exactly is, and the more complex their magic the more effort it takes (if she's staring at a simple fire mage she'll just see the fire. However if somebody has a magic which for example focuses on changing the shape and mass of objects she'll have trouble guessing what it might be until that person actually uses their magic). Furthermore, if it is the first time that she encounters that magic type she can only make a very vague guess about what she thinks it might do: she has to recognize the type before she can recognize it with more ease afterwards. While she can see when somebody is casting a spell (because casting a spell affects the flow of magic inside a person) she can't tell what spell it will be unless she has seen that spell cast before.
