So that's what it came down to huh? A dragon bone? He couldn't say he remembered why Kakuma put him to so such a task, but at least she wasn't strict with the boundaries either. This task seemed crucial to her, so when sue insisted he did this task, he gladly accepted it with a mouth full of chocolate. First things first, where did one find a dragon bone in the first place? He and Ignite have been fighting hard enough as it is, to try to slay a dragon in this state would be life risking and energy draining of their bodies. They didn't have the jewels to buy a dragon bone either, so how else can one get a dragons bone. That was when Ignite had her answer.
Hey Elyx, what about the desert? Ignite asked as the violinist tiled his head to the side. What was she talking about? There was only sand and more sand in the desert based on what he has seen. Besides, did she just expect for there to be a dragon bone lying down in the middle of the sand? The She Phoenix was smarter than that, so he decided to hear her out.
Please explain. Elyx replied as he waited for answer. What exactly was her plan here? She smiled through and pulled out a light pen, in which he did not want to know where she got that from. It was a tool designed for the users to write in the air.
This is how it will work. I'm sure you know about fossil bones right? We need to find one of those guys that search for fossils... Biologists I believe they are called. Well, she tried at least. It was archeologist that she was looking for, but now wasn't the time to teach her about science.
So we are just going to be looking for a dragon bone in the sand? Elyx asked with a bit of hesitation, that could be a very risky move, so much sand and so little fossils. Still, what other choice do they have. It was night time though, and searching for the Archeologist and waking him or her up, that's not the brightest move they can make. It seems they will have to wait for the next morning to obtain any sort of help. They had a week to do this after all.
Day 2
The both of them woke up at the sunrise, making sure to start their day easily and early. They were preparing themselves something delicious to eat before they head off to find the only person in the guild who could help them out. He was also a good friend of the Violinist, so hopefully nothing will be charged.
French Toast, what a way to start a morning. Elyx said to himself as he saw Ignite eating the meal as if it would run of she did not eat it now. Table manners, that was something on his checklist to teach her. Bit overall, she was doing a very good job with acting like a human. Now he had to teach her how to act like a lady... Which was rather hard since h never had any experience with that sort of thing. And he was personally glad he did not.
after their heart attack breakfast, the two of them looked to search out Fen. Fen is the archeologist of his area, he would be able to locate the bones. He is 21 years olfz but his wisdom is a lot more than that, and he wouldn't really consider himself a heavy drinker, even though he has a barrel of wine right next to him. There are plastic cups on the bottom in which he can fill, and the handle to pull out the wine as well. Getting drunk for him is nothing new, but having him drunk is now what they needed right now. It was the morning, so there was the chance of him having a hangover, but that's if he drank last night. Fen was at a poker game since yesterday was Sunday, so that would be able to keep his mind off of the wine. As an architect though, he has excelled the boundaries of many and even proved a genetic crossing in some fossils as well.
The two of them walked into his shop, in which there were many fossils on the walls for sale. On the counter, Fen can be seen dusting one of the smaller bones. Without even looking or even turning attention to him, Fen already greeted them.
Yo man, what's up my boy Elyx. Who's the chick? Fen asked in his usual southern accent. Would it kill him to speak properly? As for the... Chick, that being Ignite, it was funny how he was both correct and incorrect at the same time since she was a Phoenix Bird.
Whatever man, this is Ignite. And she is my phoenix Bird of you remember. She is a demiphoenix so she is able to be a human. I'm teaching her the ways of life... Elyx said as Fen looked at him with a taunting facial expression that revealed a bad image in the thick head of the scientist.
Oh shut up! Anyways, the two of us need to find some sort of Dragon Bone. Being able to find fossils, you are coming with us, no questions asked.Fen looked at Elyx with a smile on his face, the fiery commanding attitude being something that for some reason, Fen actually liked. He turned to Elyx and Ignite and put his backpack over his back. If anyone asked him nicely, he might refuse for some really odd reason. He wants to travel with people who aren't afraid of something much bigger than themselves.
Dragons bones, those are rare kid. And where do you plan to find the bone at? Fen asked as he leaned his right arm flat on the counter and looked up straight at the violinist. Before he could reply, Ignite took his place and took the questions as her responsibly.
We are going to the desert, I'm sure you don't have a problem with that right?Day 3
It took a while to travel to the desert, bug the heavy sand flying and constant eye closing showed pretty good signs of them being at their destination. Now, they had to dig through the sand to see what they can find.
So you want old dragons huh, this might be a little hard to tell you, but I have only done research on dragon bones, I never actually tried to dig one up before. Fen explained as he put his hand behind his head. He then put his scanner onto his palm and started saving it all over the place as if he would find it in the air. Maybe it was not such a good idea to bring him along. They didn't know any better in their defense, so they had no right to criticize, even if they wanted to. Still, being with Fen at this current moment was just to painful to bare emotionally.
Well, tell us Fen about the Dragon bones if you actually did your homework on them. Elyx replied as he bit into his chocolate bar, which was quickly melting even though he just pulled it out of the wrapper. Ignite did not seem to be hot at all though, she was made of fire after all. As for Fen, well, who would know considering he was the special case of the group. At least he was not drunk or hung over, that would make things a lot harder on them all.
Well, they measure to about twenty feet on the arms when you consider half of it. The full arm depends on the type and age of the dragon. The body bones are left to rot since they won't be moved according to the treasures. But maybe there is hope for an arm or leg. If you can use some of your magically pixie wind, I can help look for clues based on the result, and maybe find the bone you two are looking for. Fen explained as he put up a thumbs up and smiled a little nicely and a little crookedly. He did have a good point, they could cover more ground if he used his magic right now.
All right, I'll give it a shot. Stand back guys. Elyx said as he put out his right arm, a ball of light being revealed into it. In his left hand was another ball of light, and both of them shattered into two items. He then had a Violin bow in his right hand and a Violin in his left hand. He then began to play.
The song played was Rising the Storm, a song made by him. The cyclone was beginning to form as a bunch of sand was swarming him and more of it was being sucked in. In some crevices, he could see some of the bones inside. Hopefully Fen would be able to determine if any of them were dragons Bones. Why bring one when there could be many? The cyclone then ended as the two of his allies were laying on the ground, gripping desperately on the sand as if it would save them Surprisingly though, they took no wounds, just a bunch of sand. Who knows, may the sand did save them? Fen stood up and started to examine some of the bones, saying no many times, but on some, he picked them up and said yes. Finally, once he did his hunting, he went back to Elyx and smiled as he said another final sentence.
I'll take these back to my shop to clean off. They are interesting. There are four, and I would like to keep one. I did help you identify them after all.Day 4
Elyx and Ignite were back at the guild, sleeping as usual. It was the afternoon, but yesterday was a day in the desert, so of course they would be this tired. A knocking on the door woke up Ignite, but the violinist was still sleeping. She put on another shirt on top of her tank top and left her room, passing Elyx's room and walking downstairs. When she answered the door, it was Fen.
What do you want, we're sleeping. Ignite said grouchily, which made the scientist laugh and make a small joke that really was not too funny for anayone but himself.
In different beds right? Fen asked as he laughed a little, but the droopy eyes of the She Phoenix showed that she was not amused with the joke that was made, so Fen cleared his throat and handed her a bag. When she looked inside, the three bones promised was inside, cleaned up and ready to present to Kakuma.
Elyx and Ignite both had the bag of bones in their possesion, and the violinist was the one of the two of them holding the bones. He then put the bag of bones on the ground, causing the back to wrinkle and reveal three of the dragon bones collected from their trip to the desert. He then picked all three of them and placed them in front of Kakuma before he began to speak.
We have done the task that you have given us, me and my familiar, Ignite. These are three bones of a dragon, even though you have only requested for one. If I may please, may I ask you what these will be used for? Elyx asked as he tilted his head to the side.
He heard footsteps behind him causing his attention to turn away from Kakuma and he saw that Ignite was walking away with a smile on her face. What was up with her? He turned back to the guild leader and put his hands in his pockets, not planning to bother himself to find out about a mind that relied on logic that was not even human. Then again, though that may be the case for his familiar, Kakuma was the leader of a whole guild, meaning she has the ability to have amazing social skills with humans. The question was still in the air, but he was willing to dismiss it since really he did not have many chances to get requests from the guild leader herself. He put his hands to his sides and looked up once again.
If it is classified, I understand. But, is there any reason why you wanted me to come on this trip for these bones presented here?
