Strange Sensations (Elyx, Ariel, Jin and BlueRoseRebel)

The guild, it was certainly one of mystery. One may ask what it is, as for him, he wouldn't really have a direct answer. In all honesty, he didn't know it himself. Whenever he thought he had an absolute answer, that answer would be negated easy by something else that would happen. But this was just stupid, a box in the middle of a table. And it looks so weird. Elyx said to himself out loud as he poked it a few times, the rough wood being rough on his skin. It had some weird looking items on top of it, and at the top of it was a number 1. Each time he looked at it, the more he began to wonder if he should just report this weird box. But then again, he thought he would never be able to see it again if he did. But why should he care about that anyways? It's not like he was going to get any of the contents in it anyways? He kept on trying to figure out what he wanted to do with it.

Such a strange night, Romulus thought to himself. He wasn't able to sleep the night before, because of an odd feeling in the pit of his stomach. He assumed this was just him feeling disconnected from his Spirit Guide. He had never went this long without talking to the Den Mother and he would have to go visit soon. In lieu of sleep, he went on a small walk. While he was out on this walk he felt an uneasy silence, uncommon for the town surrounded by wilderness. He had learned to trust nature, and nature was telling him that he needed to be very worried. Aroundidnight there was a bright crack of lightning accompanied by a gong-like sound. Hr refused to think about those things after they had happened and he continued his stroll. Once the sun rose, he found himself at the door of the guild completely by accident. He pushed it open and saw something. Something was really all he could call it. It appeared to be a box, or at least some sort of cube, sitting right in the middle of the guild hall. He saw only one person standing near it at this point. Oh, who is that boy? Romulus felt bad that he couldn't remember the boy's name, he really did, but... Elyx! His name was Elyx. With that smaller conundrum solved, Romulus headed towards the center of the room, and towards that damned something. As he approached, he heard the faint sounds of his guild mates rising from their beds. Soon they would all converge on the main room and discover, along with him and Elyx, this box, or was it just a cube?

The loud sound and the flash of lightening wasn’t noticed by Jin, he was sound asleep at the time. He woke up early as usual, took a shower and came out. Today he decided to go to the tavern and cook some breakfast not only for himself but for others as well. He was a chef and he should’ve had this much confidence to cook for others by now. ”I’ve come a long way, I should put all that learning to the test now”, he thought putting on his clothes. He didn’t sleep naked, he just didn’t wear his shirt. Now he dressed up in cleaner clothes, a white shirt with a white bottom and white shoes; today was his white day perhaps. He walked down to the tavern and was about to enter it when he noticed his friends in the guild hall.

Instead of walking to the tavern, he walked to the balcony of the first floor and looked down at his friends. They were standing next to some kind of box, he couldn’t see what was inside it or what they were doing so he decided to join them. He walked down the stairs and entered the hall, walking to the side of his friends. ”Morning Elyx, Romulus. What are you guys doing so early in the morning? You want some breakfast, I was going to cook for everyone around”, he said when he finally looked at the box. Nothing apparently special about it, just a wooden box; what were its contents though? He was a bit curious, ”So, what’s with the box?” he said looking at Elyx and then at Romulus. Perhaps they had something to do with it, Elyx was a carpenter so did he make it? Or was it something carrying Romulus’s luggage since it hadn’t been long since he had joined.

last night had been loud, so the twins hadn't gotten a lot of sleep last night. They came down later that everyone else, still dressed in their sleeping clothes. They rubbed their eyes and saw the group standing around...something. Curse these tall people for blocking everything. They yawn and push their way through the growing crowd of people. When they finally made it inside they noticed that their was a small box sitting there on the table. It was very ornate and fancy, something in the two girls wanted to take it and sell it. But their mother would probably get mad at them. Ariel leaned her head back to look at the people behind her. "So? any idea what's in it and how valuable it is?" she as her sister looked it over. Ariel was getting a strange vibe from this box, something about it just wasn't quite right.
Ariel looked over the once again. It was a small thing, black with an ornate gold design on the lid. There was a lock on the front and a key laying next to it. Curiosity got the better of the twins, Ariel picked up key and slid it into the lock. Turning it, the box clicked as it was unlocked. She lifted the lid slowly, when it was open there was bright flash of light. A light that blind her and made her stumble backwards. She tired to shield her eyes with her hands, but it was just so bright.

The first person to arrive he had to admit he never heard from before. He turned his head to the side to see it was the new person who came into the guild. Elyx replied with his usual smile and Ignite on his shoulder. I have no idea, it just came to me and I looked over to see if there is anything I can do. I don't want to open it just yet until I can figure out what is inside. Well, he had the key and everything, but that didn't mean he should just open it just yet. He then realized that Jin was there as well, and the same question was asked, and in return he got the same answer. Ignite flew up to the ceiling and watched everyone with curious eyes, but keeping her distance as if this were a bomb. But she would not be able to confirm that, if it was, she would have told him by now anyways. Well... lets see what we can do about this. Elyx said to the group as he continued looking. That was when the twins came up from behind and inserted the key into the lock quickly, too quickly for him to detect with Wind Lerale Boost and Eye combined. Wait! NO! Elyx exclaimed as he tried to stop it, but the box had been unlocked, and a devastating wave of blinding light shot out from the box. The few seconds of being blind was just painful, but when he could finally see again, he suddenly felt a lot light. And taller. Or, it seemed taller. What.... happened?

Romulus stood with Elyx while Jin showed up. Romulus greeted his first friend from this guild, well his friend period. He greeted his friend and smiled at the idea of Jim's cooking. The eliphant in the room was still the small cube right in the middle of the room the three mages were standing in. Soon a rather constant flow of mages came into the room. Romulus felt extremely uncomfortable being in the center of the room with more than a handful of people around him. Despite his discomfort, and his thoughts of Jin's cooking, the small black box drew him in. He couldn't help but be attracted to it. All of the sudden two little girls ran up and shoved the key into a small keyhole he had failed to notice.It is a box! was the last thought that went through Romulus' mind before a bright light erupted from the small dark box. He was sure he must have screamed a few words not fit for younger ears when he was blinded, but after the brightness had faded, he still could not open his ryes from the burning sensation from the point blank brightness. Romulus hoped there was no permanent damage, but there was no way of him telling at the moment. The burning was so absolute that it had caused the caster mage to complete fail at noticing the change he just went through.

Elyx apparently had no idea about it just like himself and so didn’t Romulus. The mystery of this strange box remained unsolved and then the twins arrived inquiring about what was in it. Jin couldn’t help but wonder the same thing but he wasn’t sure whether or not to open it. ”Perhaps we should find a mage who can look through it without opening it” he suggested but the twins were in quite a bit of a hurry. They moved fast enough for Jin to only notice the key being put into the key hole. ”Wait!” he too shouted in unison with Elyx, trying to stop the twins but it was already too late. As fast as a reflex action, Jin had no time to act so he stretched his hand aiming to grab the twins by their shoulder and when he did, he would push them away from the box.

Not only that, he aimed the twins in a manner that they would end up hitting Elyx who too would be pushed back from the box and he then stood in front of Romulus. In a succession of events, Jin had attempted to save everyone from possibly danger using his slight boost of speed. From what harm had he tried to save everyone? Apparently it was some sort of light that emerged from the box and despite his useless attempt, shined brightly enough to blind him along with the others. ”I don’t know, what just..” being closer to the light source, he could feel his eyes burning. His vision was slower to return and thus he didn’t know what had just happened to him. ”Is everyone okay?” he inquired rubbing his eyes so that his vision could return to normal.

Ariel lowered her hands from her eyes and blinked a few times to get her eye readjusted to the surrounding light. She rubbed her eyes one again with her hands and looked around to make sure no one was hurt from the light. "Everyone alright? No one dead?" she asked just to confirm her observations. She took that moment to look over her own body, just to make sure that whatever happened wasn't something at had shot her when she wasn't looking. She looked down and over her body, there wasn't any visible damage and no blood. That was good, though something did feel off. She couldn't place her finger on it, it was like when one feels light headed but not. She shook her head and dismissed it quickly. When she returned her gaze to her guild mates she blinked again. Not because her eyes needed to adjust to the light, but because she could have sworn that they seemed...almost translucent. She rubbed her eyes again and went over to Elyx. "hey...you alright?" she asked. Curiously reaching out a hand to poke him. Just to make sure he's real and not some terrible illusion spell. When her hand came in contact with him it felt odd. Like when a foot goes to sleep, that kind of prickly feeling. But not quite right. She pulled her hand back and looked down it. It was then she realized that she too had a sort of translucent coloring to her hand. "This can't be good." she whispered, studying her hand.

Romulus was still clutching at and covering his eyes. The longer the burning sensation in his eyes lasted, the more worried that Romulus became that it would be permanent. He also noticed a few other weird feelings in his body. The feeling of his hands touching his face was like a million pins and needles per square inch of contact. Romulus thought that this was just another side effect of the burning pain in his eyes. He also felt a slight tingle all over the rest of his body, that was not quite to the level of the stabbing in his hands. Despite him still being unable to even crack his eyes open, he felt the need to respond to Jin's question. "I'm pretty sure I'm fine. I can't open my eyes, I think every square millimeter of my body is asleep, and I might have offended young audiences. That translates to fine, right?" , Romulus almost shouted out. He wanted to make sure everything was alright with everyone else before he worried too much about himself. There were a few new smells in the room since the flash, and quite a few other smells changed at least a little bit.

Romulus’s voice from behind him was a sign of relief and so was the case when the twins spoke up. ”I’m fine.. I think” he replied to the twins when they inquired about him. Jin shook his head a few times and finally his vision cleared, the bright light was quite brutal on his vision for a little while. For some reason, he felt pretty light; it was like his body weight had been reduced to nothing. The box had been opened, so he wanted to see what was the source of all this light. Jin hadn’t noticed his body or how the bodies of his friends had been altered. When he extended his hand to touch the box, it was then that he noticed. His hand went straight through the box, he couldn’t touch it or hold it. ”What’s this?!”, then he cast a gaze at his own body and found that he was floating up above the ground, his feet weren’t touching it. ”Am I dead? Is this my soul?!” an alarming situation sent quite a few awkward thoughts into his mind.

He had felt no pain so was it some sort of attack that completely wiped out his body and what remained was his soul? He had never thought about ghosts and souls so he didn’t knew what to make of this. His gaze then found the two twins who had a similar body to his own: ”You girls too?!”, so ghosts can see other ghosts then? But wait a minute, were they really ghosts? Or was it some sort of magic? Was the guild under attack? He then looked around to find Elyx but there was no sign of him. Then he turned to find Romulus in possession of a similar body to his and the twins. ”I don’t get it, what’s… what’s going on!”, there were just so many possibilities how this could’ve happened.
