Messing with Mischievous Imps (Elyx & Jin)

Elyx was under some sort of misunderstanding that Jin didn’t understand him right. That wasn’t the case though, he was only joking using what Elyx had said earlier. He didn’t have time to explain as he noticed Elyx’s form returning to normal, no more neko style then. This form though didn’t seem to put fatigue on him and he was able to continue fighting using his usual magic. The imp was taken down regardless of Elyx’s form. The line of imps just didn’t seem to end, one after another it was like these creatures were in infinite number or something.

And again, the kind of imp that had wounded his arm just appeared. This one too seemed pretty angry but Jin remembered the weakness of its body. The creature was gigantic as compared to other imps and did look frightening and strong, which it was but it wasn’t that durable. The creature launched a berserker kind of attack at him, running and thrashing its arms around aiming to hit Jin. Jin jumped aside and rolled dodging the raging imp. He then began to focus heat on his four limbs which then began to turn read, now he launched a counter attack: ”Heat.. Source!”. Jin shouted as he charged at the creature and launched a flurry of punches and kicks. The creature at first resisted but its defenses were weak and Jin’s attacks weren’t subtle. Each time his punch or kick hit, it left a burning mark which only increased in temperature. The creature finally fell as Jin spun quickly and kicked him in the torso making the creature bend over and then he launched a final hook punch. The creature lifted a foot in the air and fell on its back, unconscious.

How many of these are coming!? Elyx was running out on magic techniques that are effective in combat, yet a Berserker was headed for him. He didn't know what could be effective for this situation, the Cyclone shift would be suicide toward the railroad tracks, and any other spells wouldn't be too effective for him to use. Any other ideas... Idea... Then he had one small plan. The berserker lunged at Elyx, but it missed when Elyxs speed was able to carry out an easy dodge roll. He then jumped into the air with his Violin in place, the berserker jumping into the air as well. This Lerale Violin gave him a small advantage, it is rather resilient, good enough for one hit. It hit Elyx stomach while Elyx swung causing the both of them to fly back. Elyx landed by doing back onto his feet clumsily. It is a lot easier to fight with magic. Well, let's see, execution bomb sends heavy knock back damage only. Stream of Quintus wouldn't exactly force an opponent away. Barrier.... Ha, funny. And Chidori Keep, well, that one would be useful for the boss. Elyx placed his Violin up and ran towards the Berserker while it was still down. He then kicked the berserker like it was a soccer ball, launching its body away from them.

And another one of those raging imps was defeated, this time by Elyx. ”Where is the leader anyways? This swarm of imps seems endless” said Jin, he was getting irritated. Then suddenly a large sound was heard, something big was headed their way. Jin turned to face the direction from where the sound was coming from. Only to see, the dark colored large imp that was the leader of all the imps that lay defeated on the ground. The creature announced its presence by launching a fireball aimed right at Jin, it was fast; fast enough for Jin to not avoid it. He jumped to the side still doing his best but the fireball hit his side making him twist and turn in mid air. He landed on his back and then stood up.

The good thing was that he was a heat mage so he had reduced most of the heat of the fireball. It was still stronger than his abilities so he did take some good amount of damage. The creature was large and Jin had never heard of black colored imps. ”So this was the reason why these imps were gathered around here ha?” said Jin as he decided his next move. His arm had already been injured, his body was now bruised and slightly burned from the left side. However, they had gotten closer to their goal and it was time to finish this. The final foe stood before them and no way was Jin going to stop now. He had decided to go all out and for that purpose, he used his lineage ability summoning two spirit warriors.

Kayla a gorgeous female warrior with a large leather whip and provocative clothing was summoned. Along with Jerald, a large man with a big wooden hammer and a mask on his face. ”Elyx, if I don’t take him down with this one. You do the rest” he said preparing for one big final attack. The imp laughed at him and launched two fire balls, Kayla and Jerald dodged the attack and rushed forward. Kayla’s whip was long so she didn’t have to go much further, Jerald ran fast and aimed for the creature’s torso. Jin stood there and waited for his plan to commence. Kayla swung her whip that crashed against the creature’s face and eyes over and over again, taking advantage of that Jerald landed a blow on the creature’s chest. Jin focused the his ability and used one final spell to end the creature, ”Miniplosions”. Suddenly a number of explosions happened around the creature, creating some smoke as both his spirits jumped back.

For a moment the smoke made it difficult to see what had happened until finally the creature appeared. The imp was hit by the cold explosions Jin had created and had taken freezing and piercing damage. Once more, Jerald and Kayla launched another combination attack. Kayla’s whip wrapped around the creature’s neck and Jerald’s hammer landed on its head delivering the final blow. The large black colored imp fell to the ground, now unconscious. Jin turned to look at Elyx and gave him a ‘thumbs up’, happy with what he had accomplished.

There it is again, this wasn't the first time he saw this. Why couldn't Elyx see or do this!? Why didn't he summon some warriors that awesome yet, why... why... it wasn't part of heat manipulation, Jin would've mentioned it. But none of that mattered at the current moment, they had to get their reward and go home. Elyx needed to rest and figure out how to survive contests with needs of endurance. They both walked along towards the town, seeing the Caravan go by, showing that their mission was successful. Their nest was rather far away, so that gave time for Elyx to think about new plans and strategies. It was a little hard for him though due to the fact that he downed so many chocolate bars on their way. When they claimed their rewards, they both walked back home with their rewards, but a lot of questions from Elyx. And from then, he ended up starting to talk to himsf a lot, which was rather weird, but it helps him visualize the current situation. He needed to keep himself informed, and it was just his way of memorizing things. Well, now, was it really worth the jewels we received, to be so lost? Elyx asked as he continued to bite into his chocolate. It made the question seem easier to ask, and there was much more on his mind that he needed to let out.

Jin had been saving his magic for this one boss the entire time, so he went all out. Still, he only used one big spell and the rest was done from his summons. He always thought there was nothing so out of the ordinary about him but his lineage wasn’t so subtle. The reason why he was able to summon legendary spirit warriors to help him out was that he was the descendant of Gor. History doesn’t do justice to that warrior who won so many battles and defeated countless foes. Not many knew about him and there weren’t many tales of him either.

Kayla and Jerald came to Jin after defeating the large imp, ”Are you okay my beloved?” said the women in a seductive manner. Her hand raised his chin since he was looking down and breathing a bit heavily. Jerald sat on his knee and started to put some bandages around Jin’s arm and the burned parts on his body. ”Thank you miss, I’m fine” he replied, she really was wearing some provocative clothes. As she was right in front of him, if he wanted to he could possibly see everything. For a legendary warrior, she was one hell of a perverted individual.

After that, Jin followed along Elyx as the two mages head towards their guild. Jin had sent his spirit warriors back to the spirit world after he was all bandaged up by Jerald.

A lightning bolt of realization struck right behind his head, now he knew something that seemed a little... Lot... Bit off. The enemies seem to be going down in almost barely any strikes, this strikes tend to vary and base on strategy, but what would be the main goal of them. At the end of this, Elyx felt like he struck an artery, was that actually worth anything at all? He was damaging his body by being so reckless, even if it is a battle, he shouldn't be exerting all of that magic power. I wonder if castors have that sort of problem... Elyx said out loud, thinking of just about everyone in his guild, including the person right next to him. Almost all of them seem to be able to handle every single mission without getting hurt, meanwhile he was going all out to use his Violin spells. The Imps... Their fighting tactics rely on taking care of everything on their own, and look at how they ended up. Elyx said as he looked back towards the next. And... At what cost? Well, he had no time to sulk over it now, he had to continue walking, but the more he did that, the more it was nagging him. He just wanted to become stronger.

Jin noticed that his friend was suddenly having trouble walking, ”So that form did effect him”. Well he was in no condition to talk about that either, he had no form like Elyx did but he was injured too. However, his injuries were taken care of momentarily, Jerald one of his summoned warrior spirits had bandaged him. He walked next to Elyx, grabbed his arm and put it around his shoulder as he smiled at Elyx. ”Oi oi, you can’t walk like that by yourself. What are friends for anyways?” he said with the warmest of smiles. Jin was a kind person at heart and despite being injured what troubled him most was that his friend was having trouble walking.

Finally, the two mages made it back to the harbor from where they took a boat heading back to the island that was all too familiar. Jin asked the captain of the ship if there was a medic on board. Luckily there was so he asked them to attend to Elyx first and then to him as well. The medic arrived with a first aid kit and on their way back they received some medical treatment. The medic advised Jin that since his injuries were basically comprising of a flesh wound and slight burns, he should just rest. He also advised Elyx to take a few days off since it seemed there was a sprain in his leg muscles. Afterwards, Jin brought some refreshments; one for himself and the other for Elyx. ”Elyx, isn’t your magic a caster type like mine? How are you able to use those powerful forms anyway?” indeed he was intrigued by his friend’s methods. This was one different way of using his magic and Jin wanted to possibly learn it in the future.

It didn't even occur to him that he was even walking by himself and off task. When he looked around, he didn't even know where he was. It was like he was daydreaming while he was walking. It was scary to him, nothing was making sense to him and it was like he was breaking down for no reason at all. From this point, he kept himself silent, wanting to visit the nest once more before they returned to their home. He wanted to know what was bugging him so much about it. Dude, I have to go back! I need to see something. I know its past seven so you may go home if you would like, but there is something about that damn nest that keeps bugging me. Elyx explained as he ran towards the nest again. Traveling again for what... One... Two... Five hours? Well, it didn't matter. If he needed to travel for days, he would, this was his only chance to find out something that was bugging him and maybe he could use it. The further he ran,the more determined he was to get to that nest. He activated Wind Lerale Boost to give him another speed bump before he arrived to the nest. And then it happened, it was just as he expected, there was something that connected him to this empty nest. A flashback rolled through his minds, he was back at... Angelo's? The chocolate bar shop, and it was empty. This wasn't that hard to figure out, on this day he was trapped in the shop, or at least that's what he thought. It closed and he was using the restroom at the time it closed, so he seemed to be locked in before Angelo came in hearing his cries and Elyx was returned home safely. But... What did that have to do with the imps? You would be surprised. A mans voice said beside Elyx, who turned around with his fists up, but put them down once he realized that the man was a spirit it wouldn't help to punch it. But... I don't want to let you know yet. Its not time for you to know yet. The man explained with Hus arms crossed and a delicate smile on his face. Elyx talked to it, and to anyone else it would look like he was talking g to thin air. All in good time. The man said again as he slowly read his mind again. Elyx kept silent, not knowing how to feel about this. But... I want to know... Elyx said as the spiritual man left.

Before the two could depart on their journey, Elyx had to run back to where they had faced the creatures off. Jin would never let him go on his own but he did ran off and he never had a chance to say he was coming along. The friendly mage was left alone at the harbor with the question of whether or not to go back or go ahead. He sat down in front of the ship that was supposed to take him back to the island. His hand rested on his fist and his arm’s elbow rested on his knee, he kept pondering about what to do. ”Elyx is capable of protecting himself, he’s as good a mage as I am or probably even better. What am I supposed to do then? Wait for him? Go back for him or just go ahead?”, it was a bit of a confusing situation.

Finally his stomach growled and he realized that he was tired and hungry anyways. He stood up and made up his mind to trust in his friend’s abilities and leave ahead. He was still worried but he walked on board, telling the captain he would be travelling alone. The ship set sail and in a few hours he was back on the familiar island. After a few minute walk he was back in the guild hall and with a completed job request, thanks to Elyx yet again.

Elyx then was left alone... that man. Who was that person... and what did he want? These Imps, he was going to need to study a little bit more on this. He then began talking to himself again, his unhealthy habit it taking over again. For the first time since he joined the guild, his normally smiling face went from the already bad neutral face to a sad facial expression. Now I get it. These Imps represented something... and I know what it is. There is more... but what? Elyx explained to himself as he began walking down the slope to his guild, Black Rose. Hopefully he can rest his head there without anybody seeing him. It would be nice to rest that peacefully. When he passed by Jins house, he realized what he did and what it looked like, and it made him feel much worse. He threw his knapsack over his head so he could rummage through the sack of items. Finally, he managed to pull out two chocolate bars from his knapsack and bent onto his knees. From there, he slid the two chocolate bars and left with a small smile as he walked to his house, hopefully an "I am sorry" worth something. Once he got to his house, he barged through the door and rushed to the bed, and never in his life has his mattress felt softer.
