You know in fighter games where you have two real ways to play? The amateur style button mash or the combo-move master race. Maybe I'm just too hyped on Mortal Kombat right now but I think maybe we can learn something here.

    Let's talk about that

So I would like to create an informal "Fighting Style" system. The fighting style system would be a very simple, low mod load, basic system to encourage spicing things up in battle. Now while everyone already has the option to do mad judo moves any time they want looking around it isn't very common as spells are deemed the most effective form of attack. I believe a casual outlining of guidelines for fighting styles will encourage our more fisticuff oriented players to hash it out in hand-to-hand.

The thing is right now there is nothing stopping people from doing what I am suggesting, but no one does it anyway. I think this is because a lot of fledgling role-players won't do anything the rules don't tell them they can. So I guess I don't want a rule saying "no you can't," I want a "yes you can," just to encourage it. Encourage what? Oh yeah I should explain that.l

    Funny transition pun!

Getting to the actual system each player will be allowed in their player vaults to have a section dedicated to their sweet moves. Which will be from now on referred to as their "Move List." What a player puts in their move list is completely up to them but the idea is to list down you're signature fighting moves that aren't a spell(working in passives should be allowed and encouraged). Naturally a player doesn't have to do this and can do moves they don't have on their list, but again the idea is just to encourage people to try different things while fighting. It may also help our large population of mages with strength and speed buffs figure out what to do with their new found strength.

    Example time!

    Simon's Move List:
Moves marked (!) require their name to be shouted when used

Guillotine Kick: Simon jumps above his foe and flips forward into a flip-kick aimed at their head.
Fairy Kenshido!: Replicating the fighting style of Ex-Wizard Saint Leonard, Simon strikes his foe with a powerful two-handed overhead draw strike from his sword(whichever of the three he is using).
Lightning Dragon's Ro- Sucker Punch!: Simon claims to be Heero and throws his head back sucking in air imitating a slayer's roar attack before sucker punching his enemy in the face. Only works if his foe has yet to see Simon's magic and has never actually seen Heero to know what he looks like.
Fairy-Fold Roundhouse: A pun on five-fold in the fairy-fold round house Simon uses his extreme leg strength and speed knock around his foe with five back-to-back roundhouse kicks.
This is Fairy Tail!: Simon bashes his head into his foes head as hard as he is able.
Ram Kenshido: Simon bashes his head into his foes weapon as hard as he is able. The objective is to break your opponent's weapon with your head before they break your head with their weapons.

As explained before this is meant to encourage zany and crazy fighting moves NOT TO LIMIT them. But it should also be clear the move list is not a place to put extra spell slots. Putting an attack in your move list doesn't make it any more powerful then a move you made up on the spot that isn't listed.

Is this really needed? No not really. But would it be fun? Yes. Yes it would be.

Tbh i've seen quite a few people focusing on close range combat, and just upping it with their magic. I know I do, Ayeseru does, Seitenshi does and a few others.

Its definitely not needed, but if people wanted to put this in their history or their magic or their bank...I see no issue with it. I for example have several 'signature' combos of spells and physics and stuff...that aren't really spell fusions, but are signature stuff I do. I could make a list of these if I wanted lol
