Personality: Being raised by a woman who isn't your mother and not knowing who your parents are is a difficult upbringing for anyone. Kiya however took it in her stride as she knew no different. Through the years spent with her grandmother, Kiya learned everything a normal child would learn and more. She learned etiquette of the highest degree, with her speech and mannerisms earning her much praise. Afterall, it is rare to meet a child whose linguistic skills match that of a full-grown adult and who is also rather mature, yet still sweet and innocent seeming. However, her etiquette does not lie just within her speech and mannerisms; the girl is also studious, dextrous and a talented danseuse courtesy of her great observational skills. Needless to say that such a combination of talent and a respectable demeanour led to occasional invites to rather the well-respected nobleman's home - often in an attempt to pair her with their more obnoxious sons.

But then there's her other persona. When there is something Kiya wants she will turn incredibly sly, using her linquistical skills to fashion a silver tongue that will often talk her way into - or out of - any situation she so pleases. She is also not adverse to turning on the charm to get her own way, even going so far as to turn flirtatious if it means the difference between failure and success. It should be noted however that she will not cross that line, and thus calling her bluff will eventually get her to back down and revert to her normal self. Alternatively she will just get into a huff and refuse to acknowledge a person's existance until they give in and give her what she wants, although this method is very situational and she knows exactly when and when not to use it.

Finally the third side of Kiya; the combative side. While she despises fighting with her friends, fighting an enemy is of no consequence; they already hate her, so why should she worry? She utilises her magic often to pick an opponent apart from range, often toying with their mental state as well as dealing damage. When fighting with an ally she will do everything within her power to protect them; failure to do so could upset them, and that could result in them walking away from her. Kiya never, EVER wants that to happen. This mentality often hinders her and prevents her from making more educated decisions, something which underlines a current inability to lead from the front and work out a strategy where everyone has a fair workload, as she doesn't want anyone to get hurt or be overworked.

On the other hand Kiya is great at taking orders so long as whoever is giving them is a competent leader. She will follow those orders without argument, working her absolute hardest as she would hate to be the cause of someone she cares about coming to any harm. If the leader is not competent? Well then she'll simply protect them.

Likes:
Tea; It is Pergrandian custom to enjoy the beverage.

Magic; Living in a land where magic is banned only served to strengthen Kiya's bond to her own magical ability. Afterall, she has something that no-one else in Pergrande has - well, no-one else who would reveal it anyway.

Beer; An odd liking that Kiya found when she was first visited by Marick, she does enjoy the occasional drink. However, she doesn't like that dizzy feeling when she drinks too much of it.

Dislikes:
Being drunk; While drunk she is not fully in control of her senses. Kiya doesn't like that.

Pergrande; Kiya always felt restricted there due to her having to hide her magic all the time.

Conflict; Combat is one thing, but conflict between herself and a friend is a no-go. She will do anything to keep a friend happy to prevent any arguments.

Motivations:
Mother?; Kiya never knew her mother and so she wishes to find out who and where the woman is.

Magic; Now that she is in Fiore, Kiya has complete freedom with her magic. It's time to test its limits!

Vanessa Lowell; The woman who took her in always strived to give the girl the very best. She wishes to repay that kindness by being the very best she can be.

Fears:

Pergrande; Not so much the country as the military, Kiya fears being caught and prosecuted now that she is labelled as a heretic due to her magical capabilities.

Losing friends; Kiya's fear of conflict is tied into her fear of losing her friends. She is in a whole new country. To be left completely alone in this strange land is a terrifying concept.

Deep water; Kiya is not a strong swimmer and thus has a huge fear of deep water.

General Appearance


Height: 5'2"
Weight: 115lbs
Hair: Like her father, Kiya has platinum blonde hair. It reaches down to approximately halfway down her back, but is normally kept up in a ponytail by a ribbon (the colour alternates depending on her clothing), with her bangs reaching to her eyes and with strands on either side that frame her face.
Eyes: Electric Blue, not unlike her father's.
Skin Tone: Pale
Appearance: Kiya is rather slender with quite a modest chest size. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as it means that, no matter what she wears, she almost always looks stunning in it. Her favourite clothing varies depending on what she plans for her day; if it's a warm and relaxing day then she'll wear sleeveless dresses, or on cold winter days she'll wear skirts with thick tights and fur lined boots that match her large fur lined coat. When she has jobs however she will opt for a light armour - usually white or blue in colour - that gives her some protection while also allowing for flexibility in the joints.
