Guard My House!! [Job l Myra, Okura & Elyx]

Elyx was eating a chocolate bar as usual, his favorite snack anytime of the day. The guild house seemed rather empty for it's usual population, and it wasn't like it was raining or anything. He didn't mind though, he and his chocolate bar were there for him, and that was all that matter the him. His grin brightened as he took another bite into the sweet treat, and a small cartoon-like music note appeared above his head, it made him so happy to eat such a wonderful snack. Same goes for music, Lindsey Stirling being his favorite composer, if anyone played Shatter Me for Elyx, Elyx will do ANYTHING to hear it once again. It was just in his nature to love music and chocolate. And ever since he joined the guild, he felt the sense of security and freedom in an area he could truly call his home. Black Rose, the guild that doesn't judge your personality, and will always expect a lot from you regardless of who you are.

Elyx's ears were then drawn away towards someone else's voice, and it certainly got his attention since the voice sounded foreign. Then again, Elyx's voice must have some sort of accent to everyone who is in the guild as well. "Anyone up for a job with me?" Well, he knew he always was up for one, it helped him keep his mind off of everything that he used to hate about himself. But, well, there were some things that his body wouldn't let him get rid of. For example, the fact that he can lose control in battle. But that didn't matter right now. He walked up to the pink-haired woman standing on a chair, his chocolate neglected for now. He looked up to the woman, interested in the fact that there is a job for him to do. Hey there, were you the one who offered the job opportunity? Elyx asked with his usual grin on his face. There isn't much left for me to do right now. I would love to make myself of good assistance.

Jin was having the urge to have some cake, so he had strolled down to the bar and had ordered his beloved red velvet cake. ”I wonder what kind of jobs are available today? I hope there aren’t those usual chores, I don’t wanna do em”. He was not in the mood for another D-rank job but he couldn’t help it, he was still a D-rank mage. ”May be I’ll just get Elyx and do some C-rank mission which incorporates two D-rank mages into it”, he was still thinking about it when his cake arrived. ”Ah great, thank you so much. This’ll make my day”, he grabbed the spoon and starting eating it; cherishing it really slowly.

Right then, he heard a female’s voice inquiring about people who would like to go on a job with her. He turned to find the source of the announcement and picked his cake along with him. He noticed Elyx was heading the same way and tagged along with him. When Elyx was finished with what he wanted to say, he approached from behind and appeared in front of the two. ”Ga.. ghope dhere’s broom fol one mole”, said Jin with a mouth full of cake. Obviously not many people would be able to understand what he had just said. ”Gulp.. ahem” gulping down the cake, he cleared his throat and continued to speak: ”I hope there’s room for one more”. He had finished his cake rather quickly in excitement of helping someone else and going on a job, he took out his handkerchief and cleaned his face. ”I believe we haven’t met before, have we?” he said noticing the new female mage. They had yet to be introduced.

Hey! It was Jin! Perfect, his teammate is travelling with Elyx once again, meaning that he will have no problem when it comes to being lonely on the trip. Oh, hey there Jin! Ready to take on another job? Elyx then turned his attention towards the pink-haired woman. It seemed odd to him about what she said to both Elyx and Jin. Rather nervous around people? Well, Elyx couldn't really see that since this woman gave the whole building a chance to take the job. She was either brave or just really loud, but who would say that out loud to anyone? It was nice to see the shy people stand up for themselves instead of depend on anyone else for help. She then introduced herself, but it didn't seem proper for him to say his name, not at the current moment at least. He stepped back a few spaces to let the woman step on the ground. Now he can introduce himself, he felt that now he can give his name.

My name is Elyx Reiaki, and as you know I am of this very guild. Elyx introduced with his usual grin on his face. The woman then offered the paper that she was holding, which anyone can assume is the job that she was planning to do. He could understand why she needed help, he was avoiding this mission since he didn't feel that Elyx and Jin combined could handle it. But this woman seemed to be a bit more experienced with this sort of thing. He read the paper before handing it over to Jin. Well, I'm glad we waited before taking this mission. Though I don't know you too well yet, I think with your help we can take on this job. Elyx said as he brightened his smile by eating another piece of chocolate. It was a mystery on where all that chocolate goes, it certainly didn't affect his stomach, nor did it even make him full.

Jin smiled at Elyx and nodded in reply, he was glad that Elyx was happy too tagging along with him. The lady now introduced herself, she seemed rather shy about it; more like nervous. Jin was a social person so he didn’t know how she felt but he was an understanding individual. He made no gestures or expressions in a manner that would make her uncomfortable. She emanated an aura that there was more to her that met the eye. Jin was no aura expert or anything, it was just his assumption based on her actions, demeanor and the way she spoke to them. ”Myra? Yay, I get to go on a job with another one of our guild’s mages”, he didn’t say that out loud though because most would consider that weird.

”It’s nice to meet you too Myra, I’m Okura Jin; just call me Jin” he said with a smile and a slight bow. There was little need for formalities but around shy persons this did normally seem to make them more at ease. She did seem in a bit of a hurry when she walked away, Jin was just about to ask her about the job too. Then she noticed something and returned handing Elyx the job request. Once read, Elyx passed it on to him and he read it too, it was a C-rank job. He wouldn’t take the job if it was just him and Elyx but with her, it wouldn’t pose much of a problem. They were just going to protect a house, how hard could that possibly be anyways?

”I agree, the three of us together can guard a house. So, as Myra said earlier: no time to waste”. He said and began to head for the door, hoping that the others would tag along. If they were going to guard a house, it would be appropriate for them to arrive early and learn about what they needed to protect.

Oh, so I take it you read what you are supposed to do? The man asked with hope in his tone. Elyx took the next question with his usual bright attitude. He didn't even take a bite from his chocolate bar, he knew better at the current moment to eat while taking a job from a client, to eat in front of them after they asked a question is rather disrespectful and honestly looks rather stupid. Yes, that it correct. We will make sure to do our best with this job, is there anything you would like for us to know about our mission? Anything to make it easier for us to make this mission a success? Elyx asked as he let his right arm hand loosely as he put his left hand on his hip. The mission seemed rather hard based on what he read, attacking has always been easier than defending. For one thing, if you are attacking, you can actually retreat without much cost. Defending can't retreat unless they want to lose everything they were trying to defend in the first place.

No property damage is all I can say or ask of you. The ultimate goal is to protect all the contents inside after all. Do anything you need to so anyone trying to attack or rob the house doesn't get to even touch the property. Use anything, even if it means getting on top or inside of the place. The man explained to the group, specifically to Elyx since he was the one who asked. Elyx nodded his head with his grin still glued to his face. He put out his right palm to summon the Violin bow and his left palm to summon the Violin, the spheres of light shattering into those beautiful items. His Violin, it was his favorite weapon and instrument. Don't worry, we will make sure to keep your property safe from any intruders. Elyx said happily.

Jin had never been to this town before so he was happy that he was travelling with a bunch of mages from his guild. To be honest, just being a mage and doing jobs was everything he had ever asked for. He got to help others and attain some monetary benefits while doing that too. For the time being his actions might seem a bit trivial but he still did what he wanted to. He could only ask to do some serious jobs after attaining a certain level of experience and strength. Myra knew her way around the city so it was helpful in finding the client. It didn’t take them long to arrive at the client’s house. A wooden house that depicted its status as the property of the wealthiest man in Fiore. They were greeted by a young and well dressed gentleman. Elyx conversed with the man about the job and anything that they needed to know. What the man replied was pretty simple, there weren’t that many restrictions and all that they needed to do was make sure that everything was untouched.

”As my colleague said, we will make sure everything remains untouched”, Jin also emphasized on Elyx’s word. The man nodded and stepped out of the door, handing the keys to Myra. ”Good good, that’s very good. So please keep this place safe then. I’ll be on my way” he said handing her the keys and began to walk away. Jin was confused and inquired of the man: ”Where are you going Sir?”. ”My work is finished, I was merely a caretaker. I was told to stay here and wait for your arrival and then hand over the keys to you; which I have done. So please excuse me” and the man walked away. ”Well the job request did say that the owner was off on a visit to a different country. Guess the house is our responsibility then”.

The house was so beautiful on the inside, and it made Elyx feel right at home, except for that fact that he wasn't allowed to even touch any on the antiques. All he could really do was walk around, it was like a museum to him. But he needed to be respectful to the owner of all these items. It made no sense to leave this without being on guard, if they mess up, they mess up, and there would be nothing they could do about it. So they needed to be on the tip of their senses so they can protect everything. Do anything they had to, use anything, be anywhere, just don't let any of the antiques get touched... Hmmmm... There was something odd about this place and Elyx couldn't quite pinpoint it. It seemed familiar to him, but he couldn't quite remember where or why it would be familiar. He decided to leave it alone for now since he didn't want to think any more about the situation. He had enough on his hands as it is.


So a few hours have passed and nothing eventful has happened yet. Expected, the enemies can't be here when they saw guardians walk in. But, now after a few hours, Elyx could sense something. His Lerale Eye ability allowed him to sense an enemy coming, but from where... Where could an intruder be hiding around this house. There was a village full of people, but it was nighttime, so seeing anything suspicious was out of the question right there. That was when he heard it... something was trying to break in...

After the caretaker left the house in their responsibility, Myra apparently decided to lay back and wait for the intruders. ”She must have some serious magical abilities if she’s so relaxed. I however, need a bit of setting to make sure everyone stays away”. He didn’t agree with Myra about the only thing that could be done. They had the entire premises to themselves and they knew just about nothing about it. ”I’m going to look around and make some ‘arrangements’ “ he said as he excused himself. He walked around to get a better understanding of the ‘lay of the land’. There was an upstairs area, then there was a backyard, there was even a basement too. ”Not that high fences or walls, someone can just climb from the back too with ropes and hooks” he was talking to himself. ”No worries, we’ve just arrived and there’s still the remaining day for me to work with”.

He spent the entire day working on different kinds of traps. In order to set a trap he first devised a situation and thought it through, if he was a thief how he would enter the house. By using whatever he could think of, he set different kind of traps. It took him the entire day though, he walked back into the room where he had left his friends. He was a bit sweaty having worked for quite a while. ”Well, here’s the thing. There are a few things I need you guys to be aware of. I’ve set traps around the entire premises, so you need to know where each and everyone, so you guys can avoid them. The roof, the wall around the entire roof is extremely hot, don’t touch it. If someone tries to use rope and a hook, it’ll probably get so hot that it’ll end up burning. The floor of the roof, it’s all frozen so it’s very slippery. The outside fence, it’s extremely hot too, altered the temperature there as well. The area around the entire house, that’s also frozen, so extremely slippery. The backyard, that’s also frozen, so that’s also slippery”.

Finally Jin sat down to relax a little, it was by that time that the sound of someone falling was heard. The origin was still unnoticeable but most likely, someone had already broken in. ”I suppose it’s show time. We should divide different areas among ourselves. Oh and as long as there’s no external heat alterations, the effects that I’ve created are going to remain unaltered. In other words, unless someone knows Ice magic to reduce the heat or fire magic to melt the ice; it’ll remain the way I’ve made it so”. That was true, that was the charm about his abilities; the alterations he created persisted unless effected by some other magic or some serious heat alteration. Natural alterations couldn’t effect them unless they were way stronger.

As he got up another two sounds were heard making them a total of three sounds. So his traps had already worked on these new intruders. ”I think we should focus on the back area more, don’t think any thief is gonna approach from the front. Just in case though, I’ve frozen that area too, so if there’s someone, we’ll know. I’ll take the backyard”, he said heading off to the door that lead to the back.

Elyx ran out of the house, ready to see where the attackers went. He hoped the traps Jin mentioned would do anything. He then felt someone's presence behind him, causing him to shutter, only for it to be the pink haired girl that was on their side. She said she would cover the roof, and that was fine with Elyx. He nodded and watched her go up. Meanwhile, he summoned his Violin in his left hand, and his Violin bow on his right hand. He knew it was too early, but he learned a way to control the Chidori keep transformation. He just needed time, and that might be the thing they were lacking, but he didn't trust himself to sleep in the middle of nowhere when there could be theft going on, and that would be suicide. He just needed one small minute to make sure he doesn't fall asleep.

Please! Keep them off of me until I get this right! Elyx exclaimed to both partners as he put the Violin bow on thebstrongs of his instrument. He then began to play Artemis Rising, but needed to include C major, B minor, and A minor scales before he played the song, this sacrifice in time provides the Chidori form to have no need to take away his energy, because the sacrifice has been made. All Elyx could hope for was his partners to help him out and keep the enemies off of him.

He noticed that a mans body was falling from above, but Elyx though the man was jumping for him, so he did a high kick and almost lost the melody, but it was still there. He kicked the back of the man, causing a small snap to occur. This was starting to get crazy, it was raining men already.

His traps worked perfectly, the one’s that somehow dodged the traps ended up meeting his friends. ”Just common criminals, this shouldn’t be that difficult. If the owner of the house had put in safety measures, we wouldn’t even have this job”, Jin thought as he stood in the backyard. The sound that came from here was just a thief who had touched the fence, poor individual; now he had a burned. The next wave of thieves didn’t take that much time though, they too appeared.

One tried hopping the fence, a very successful attempt. He launched himself over the fence and landed on the backyard, ended up slipping because of the frozen floor. Jin stood for the man to come sliding to him, which he did. Just when the criminal got closer, he punched him sending him back and crashing into the extremely hot fence. Another thief also hopped the fence, he was a bit skilled in skating probably since he aimed to attack at Jin. The guy used the frozen floor as an advantage and moved pretty quickly. Sadly for him, just as he got closer he said hello to Jin’s shoe as he met with a straight heated kick. The kick left a burn mark on his face and send the man sliding backwards. ”Well that’s two down, I wonder how many more are there”, little did he know there were three more. Two of them had successfully managed to climb to the roof top after one of them burned his rope trying to climb it. Basically because the roof’s wall was extremely hot and it burned his rope, due to which he fell on the ground while climbing. The height wasn’t much so it wouldn’t cause fatal damage but serious damage was possible. That wasn’t the total number of thieves though, little did he know that a swarm of thieves had decided to hit them all together.

A bunch of them crawled over the heated fence, avoiding it after seeing others who ended up being burned by it. The thieves were indeed crafty, they had begun to enter the backyard. ”Well, I’m pretty much outnumbered against criminals who know no magic. This… should be interesting” thought Jin as he began to slide around the frozen ground. Tackling and hitting the criminals, bouncing around them while skating. The foes were greater in number but less co ordinate and so it was pretty easy dealing with them.

Elyx was given the time needed, and now everyone that stood against him were going to pay a heavy price. He wasn't one bit happy about these attackers trying to kill them as well as break in. Theft is one thing, murder to his teammates bring out the worst in him. When Artemis Rising finished, all of his items disappeared, including his Violin. It worked, and now everything else was going to feel the wrath of Elyx. Everything turned white, time seemingly frozen for the moment just to dedicate this transformation to him. Nothing else mattered now except for this one moment. Soon, everything was white, and he couldn't see anything. He saw that his clothing was dissolving, and his energy throughout his body felt like it was going to explode at any moment. Elyx could see whiteness only, his body feeling like it was floating. His clothing then changed, one piece at a time. He has a white shirt with a white jacket on top as well, showing a more modern and rich sort of look, but deadly as well. As if he were one of the ultimate warriors of the mages, this would be his abilities. His eyes were no longer light brown, but then light green, with a small hint of blue in his eyes. And instead of black pants, he had Denim blue jeans as well. Finally, there were wings of lights on his back, giving him the ability of flight. This was it... time for him to activate his next form. Wind Lerale... CHIDORIS KEEP! Elyx exclaimed as the trigger word "Lerale" was said, and his body felt like it could do anything and everything at the same time. He then closed his eyes to blink, and his body was being held in the air by one of the monsters.

When he returned to the real world, all he could see was more war. Anyone else there would notice the difference in clothing. More of what the rich warriors war, front liners to be exact. His eyes were no longer light brown, but now they were light green. It's time to play kids! Elyx exclaimed for everyone to hear him. His Wings made of light then appeared behind his back, giving him the power of flight. He flew himself to the top of the roof to see that the pink haired girl was handling the people on the top without much problem. It concerned him that she was trying to do this without even any weaponry. But she seemed to have the problem controlled, so he decided to hope that she knew what she was doing. And Jin, lets see how he is doing with those traps. Elyx said as he flew towards the other side of the house. He looked down to see Jin skating on ice while pushing people down. Well this was just starting to become a T.V show to Elyx. The front door was still unguarded, so he flew back towards it to see 3 men trying to use a battering ram to get it.

Hey! That's not nice of you! Elyx exclaimed as he almost instantly flew and landed right in front of the battering ram. This stopped the men for a few seconds, just the seconds he needed to take them out. The one in the middle let go of his end and jumped onto the battering ram. He ran towards Elyx, but little did he know that 1 on 1 combat again Chidoris Keep will probably kill him in the end. You better shut up before I/... The man tried to say before Elyx quickly grabbed onto the mans throat as quickly as the man is talkative. There was no time for this, Elyx threw the man up into the air and flew alongside with him before he kicked the man far until he hit a tree. He could be knocked out for a while, no longer posing a threat. Elyx looked down onto the other two, who were already fleeing with the battering ram also leaving. They were retreating, smart choice. Elyx then turned back towards his partners. Need any help?

Everything was going pretty smoothly, Jin was rather enjoying himself. Not only did he get to do this job with his friends but he also got to show them his magic’s abilities. The traps that he had set had been quite fruitful and all his efforts earlier weren’t wasted. The thieves in the backyard either kept slipping or kept getting knocked down by Jin, it was pretty irritating for them. Some of them got the knack for skating and managed to grab a hold of Jin but then they realized there mistake. Three thieves had grabbed on to him, one grabbed his legs while the other two grabbed his upper body. The others began smiling and laughing since the menacing mage was now caught or so they thought.

The thieves that were grabbing him started to feel numbness and then cold, way too cold. Their body temperatures had begun to change and it kept changing. Jin had been reducing the temperature of all the thieves that were in the vicinity and indirectly touching the floor but these three were too close to him. His magical abilities increased with the reduction in distance and these guys were touching him directly. Too bad for them, it didn’t take that much time for Jin to freeze the poor souls. All of the thieves were afraid and shocked, they thought Jin was some ice mage. An ice mage who had just frozen three individuals without even using the hand movements that usually ice mages did. ”Well, it’s about time I put an end to this” said Jin as he stopped in the middle of the backyard. The thieves were now trying to run away but they were either tired or bruised and couldn’t climb the fence. They knew that the fence was hot so they couldn’t climb it or even touch it. He began to focus on the thieves in the backyard only, there were a total of ten. While just standing there, he continuously reduced the body temperature of these ten criminals; well the remaining seven to be precise. All of them began feeling more and more cold, thus shivering. There shivering increased but there was no body heat produced, in the end they all ended up frozen. Seeing the frozen thieves, five more thieves who were still planning to cross the fence, got scared and ran away.

”Don’t worry, no harm will come to you. I’ve just made sure you guys can’t move. You’ll be fine when you wake up tomorrow in the jail” said Jin as he walked back into the interior of the house. ”Everything seems untouched, that’s good. I wonder how everyone else is doing”.

The battle was over it seemed, and Elyx barely had to break a sweat in the end. He still hasld his Chidori form still active for quite a moment left. There won't be much to do left. The night time is slowly showing itself as sunset hit the three of them. The man should be back any moment now it seems. Or, hopefully that would be the case. That is what was promised in the end anyways. Elyx slowly floated to the ground from where he was, his arms crossed and a competitive smile on his face rather than his usual grin. When he isn't in his Chidori form, he was able to let his happier grin out and eat more chocolate. Probably his only weakness when it comes to using this form. He almost landed on the ice on the ground as he floated down, but he didn't feel the need to walk. So he kept his body up so the tip of his toes would only be a few inches above the ground.

Well, yeah. There didn't seem to be much to it in the end, it was a shame they were finished so quickly. I'm so pumped up! Now its time for us to wait for the man to come back to us. Elyx said as he looked up to remember the fact that he would still lose a bit of energy, regardless of how much sacrifice in time he made before. He needed to rest now while he could. So he floated towards the couch and laid on top of it without even bothering to touch anything else. His Chidori went to normal by shattering his Chidori clothing and returning to his regular form. His eyes also went from light green to light brown. His hands were on his stomach and his eyes shifted to his shoes as he moved them side to side, bored out of his mind. The man should probably arrive soon.
