    Mission deets:

Ryo stood there looking at the guild hall in front of him. This was the first mission he would be on for a very long time. He was dressed in his coat with his black hat on and he was looking the same as he usually did. This mission was also very special as it was his first mission with a mage he had never worked with before. Lord Frederik. He and Fred didn't have much of a history, but what little they did have was a bit strained. So Ryo had asked him for his help in the hopes that they would be able to get to know one another better. He then looked to the person who lead him here. The man didn't say much about himself only that he was a vampire and he was sending Ryo and his partner into the abandoned Guild hall in order to slay the nest of vampires and retrieve a locket that belonged to him. He looked at Ryo with a bit of an irritated look on his face "Where is your partner Mister Knetegawa? You both best make haste if you want to kill the vampires before the moon comes out."

He glanced at the vampire shaking his head "Lord Frederik will be here, when he gets here. Don't worry. We will slay every last vampire, and any enemies we happen to find. How we do it and in what time frame is no concern of yours. Now you said you had something to give me and him that would help us?"

The vampire nodded his head as he reached into the folds of his great cloak and pulled out two silver knives. He handed one of these to Ryo nodding his head "Silver knives. Stab these into the heart of any vampire and they will die in agony. Their weaknesses are many, but so are their strengths. You must never underestimate them otherwise it will be your downfall."

He sighed as he shook his head "I wasn't planning to underestimate anyone. I doubt Lord Fredrik will be so foolish either. We are both S rank mages from Sabertooth. Do not worry we shall have this done by the end of the day at the earliest." he looked down the one road to this particular location hoping that Frederik would show up soon as he wanted to get this mission underway.

'I'd rather finish this before supper'

His voice sneered coldly through the unnatural and eerie silence, that seemed to be lingering around the so called 'haunted guild' surroundings. Not a bird to be heard, not even the rustling of the wind through  low vegetation was to be heard. It was as if the guild along with the area surrounding it was devoid of any possible joy it could ever have.

Following the voice, that felt as equally cold as the silence itself, was an enigmatic man. Completely covered and concealed by a hooded cloak, which to those who knew him, was like a trademark appearance for the man. A physical attachment that worked as a psychological shield to not let anyone see what he really felt sometimes. It was his wall, his armor, his way to feel safe regardless of where he was. This was the earlier mentioned Lord Frederick, the other S ranked member of Sabertooth even though he wouldn't ever acknowledge that fact.

'Ryo' he said as a form of ill greeting. To stubborn to even try to engage a normal way of saying hello to the man who was actually his guild mate. To the other person, who was a stranger to him, Frederick only nodded. Even though it was more then clear that this man was the client, the very man who requested mages of their caliber to fulfill a job for him.
Well that might not be entirely true, the client probably only had contact with Ryo, who for some unknown reason had send word for Frederick, asking if he could assist him on the job. Why was a mystery to him, they didn't had very much in common, in fact you could say that any kind of relationship he had with Ryo was rather staggered. It was not that he disliked the man, he just felt indifferent about him.

Yet because the area already, and because of his own curiosity to why Ryo would ask him, Frederick had agreed on the card mage's proposition.

'So what is this job exactly' he eventually continued while looking at the guild hall in front of him 'you said something about a vampire menace?'

At the sound of his voice both Ryo and their client looked back to see Lord Frederik. As far as Ryo was concerned this was the normal appearance of his guildmate. He had seen him around the guild a few times, but it always seemed to Ryo that he was always hiding his face and himself in his cloak. He wasn't sure why he would want to, but he wasn't going to intrude and ask. When Fred asked his question Ryo spoke to him "This gentleman here has asked us if we would slay a nest full of vampires and all of their servants. I figured this would be a good mission for a Sabertooth guild mage after all." He looked back to the client and spoke to him again "Now explain the details." he said flatly.

The man looked from Frederik to Ryo nodding his head as he looked up at the sun standing in the shade of one of the only trees around. "Very well." he said before he handed Fred a silver knife that was an identical twin to Ryo's own. He then spoke "I am a vampire myself. I used to be in this coven and call them commrades. However, seeing as the new Count took over and started a war campaign on the living I chose to leave. He needs to be slain along with the rest of the vampires and their slaves inside of that guild hall. The count also took something very precious to me. A locket that was mine. I want you to not only kill them, but retrieve my locket. The count stays in the guildmaster's quarters on the other end of the hall. The only way inside is the front door. Becareful however these knives will help you, but light, holy, and fire magic will be your best tools. When you have slain them if you can then meet me here and I shall pay you handsomely for your services."

At the end of his monologue Ryo rolled his eyes lightly "Don't worry. Me and Lord Frederik will have this mission done soon. Never underestimate Sabertooth mages. Expect us to return." He looked to Fred and nodded his head once "Well we should get started if you want to make it back to the guild hall before supper." he said before he moved towards the haunted guild. As he made his way towards the front doors his spurs clicked with each step the only sounds that seemed to be in the area. Now Ryo realized just how quiet the area was around the haunted guild and this only spoke further to the evil that was hiding within it.

When he stopped in front of the haunted guild doors he pushed them open both at the same time letting the light of day flood into the guild hall. It was do or die now and he would have to take the first step. Without another moment of hesitation he stepped inside of the hall drawing nine cards in each hand as he did so.

'Tch, this better be worth it' Said Frederick the moment he got handed one of the silver daggers. Knowing full well that eradicating an entire den of vampires was not an easy task, let alone its patriarch. A master vampire who gains his strength from his longevity and the numbers of thralls that had fallen under his spell.

At the end of the clients commentary on the job, Ryo responded. Assuring the man that the job will be a success, unfortunately not without putting him and Frederick in the same boat together. It was something that other would consider insignificant, yet for Frederick it was the seed of irritation, he who did not consider himself to be a part of Sabertooth.

With what was to be some supposed grunting, Frederick followed Ryo along. And walked with him all the way up to the guild hall. Once there Frederick took a good look at the building.
It wasn't extremely large, smaller then the Sabertooth hall even, yet its presence stood ominously big in the surrounding area. The entrance which which consisted out of two large mahogany wooden door, felt anything but welcome.

Frederick glared from under his hood at Ryo, during the short moment the both stood still. Probably a short moment of considering if he should open the door or not. For Frederick it was moment of calmness, the reality of stepping into a vipers nest. The clam before the storm so to speak.
Then the moment was over, whatever it was that was going through his partners head had ended, as Ryo slowly but steady opened the door.

The wood itself made a creaking sound as it scraped over the floor, slowly revealing the darkness that seemed to taken hold of the entire interior. Truly a fitting place to reside for the leeches that are called vampires.
Ryo stepped forwards, without any further hesitation. While simultaneously he draw nine separate cards in each of his hands. Showing that he wasn't going to take any chances with these parasites.
Frederick had to admit that was a smart move, knowing full well that these creatures were at home in the darkness. Even more so then he himself was.

Deciding to follow Ryo's lead, Frederick himself started to engulf himself slightly with his own dark mass. A vague black aura that seemed to surround the man, and dwindled as it move up from his body. His fist clenched as he stepped inside, ready to strike at any opponent that may come at him.

As he walked further inside Ryo looked at the cards in his hands. He tsked tucking away a pair of both white cards and element cards. He knew the weaknesses that his client had told them, and he wanted to make sure that he had cards that would be the most helpful to him. When he was ready he looked at his cards and activated his gloves. Slowly the cards began to levitate in his hands as he held his hands palm up to face the cieling. The cards floated around and Ryo quickly began to look at them and pair them in his hands. He wanted them ready for when the enemy attacked. He knew it would be soon, but he needed to be ready.

He glanced back at Lord Frederik with a soft smile "Thanks for coming along my friend. I've always wanted to work with you. To be honest I've seen you as a landmark to check myself against. Your strength got around the guild hall in chat and what not. So I tried to match it. I hope you will be honest and tell me what you think about my performance today." His face changed however as he took on a more serious tone and demeanor "I'm not foolish enough to think this will be as easy as my past exploits...I asked you here because I trust that you and I will be strong enough to overcome this...along with the fact that I wish to get to know you better. I know of no better way than this to get to know someone. This will be the last bit of friendly chatting we will have while here I am sure. If I should die don't let me be used by these foul creatures." With that he turned back and began to scan the surrounding area.

He could feel something wicked in this place. He could smell the death, the blood, and the evil that was filling this place. He shook his head lightly as he looked down the hallway that was the biggest and really the only further step into the guild hall. As he looked around however he noticed that the light of day only filled half of the main hall. The rest of it was still covered in darkness. Ryo imagined that if he wanted to get ahead in this mission he would need to use his fire cards wisely. Still he was thinking that they would have to go down the hallway at some point. That is when Ryo began to hear the footsteps. He took a step backwards as he began to see sickly pale figures emerging around him twenty in all.

Unseen yet probably more then clear Frederick's entire facial expression turned into a frown, the moment Ryo continued expressing his overly fondness towards Frederick. Something that he himself wasn't accustomed to, let alone appreciate the fact being called a 'friend'. Because last time he checked, he didn't had such kind of relationship with Ryo. So where all this unnecessary chitchat came from he didn't know.

'Let me be clear about one thing... ryo' he reacted in the only thing he knew, which was lashing out in a hostile manner, to everyone who even tried to be friendly with him. 'There is no 'you and I' nor am I your friend. I am only here for the job, and the alone....'

Frederick suddenly stopped in the middle of his own sentence, as he as well had felt the ill bloodthirsty intent crawling towards them. And as Frederick peered through the poorly lit guildhall into the shrouding darkness, he saw what it was. Better yet who it were.
There slowly appearing from the shadows itself, were pale faces. Women and men, with eyes as empty as the void itself. These were the vampires thralls, human cattle only still alive because they'd supplied their master and its minions with the necessary blood they needed.

'damn husks' Said Frederick out loud, once he saw the numbers of his enemy. 'They are nothing more then mere dolls now, playthings for the vampires.' As if stating the obvious fact was giving him green light to attack, Frederick shot a beam of darkness towards the closest thrall. Shredding straight through her and leaving a large gaping wound where once her left shoulder should be.

Shamelessly and without regard to the fact that these were actual human beings, Frederick had gone on the offensive. Even without considering if they could be saved or not. Or if Ryo approved him.
In truth these people meant nothing to Frederick, if they were still alive, or already dead was not to his concern. They were the enemy and that was all that mattered to him.

Ryo heard the challenge that Lord Frederik had made, and the tone he was using. He didn't need to see his face to know that he was not all smiles under his cloak. Still he shook his head lightly as he would have to explain once they had dealt with the immediate threat. The moment Ryo saw the first oppoenent clearly he made the cards move. He took eight cards and formed into a spell circle. From the circle emerged six lightning bolts. Each bolt was sent flying out in pairs and the six bolts struck three different targets. As they were struck the thralls were stopped in their tracks being constantly electricuted by tiny bolts of lightning. Ryo smirked as he held up his hands the floating cards moving in accordance with his mind.

In his right hand two cards stood up while in his left only one came forward. He picked two of his trapped targets and let his spells fly. The first one was a beam of lightning concentrated and powerful shot out towards one of his trapped targets punching through it's head entirely dropping it dead to the floor. The next was a card made of dark energy. With a sonicboom it shot out towards the other paralyzed target and punched through it's chest as if it was made of paper dropping it dead to the ground. He realized that he had just killed his two opponents out of anger and looked to Frederik to see what he would think. When he noticed the third dead however he smirked finding comfort in the fact that they were on the same page in this regard. Still Ryo's main focus for killing them was out of mercy. He wouldn't want to suffer like they were, so he was going to make sure he saved them from their suffering.

He glanced to his right and noticed a few more of the thralls were starting to close in on him now. He tsked and grabbed the cards in his hands reaching to his belt and drawing new playing cards. Only for his left hand however. His right hand he was looking at and calculating his move. He pulled up his left hand and sent magic into the cards. He then rushed towards a group of four thralls that were coming towards him and began to cast as he did a diamond shape wall of earth appeared in front of him. This he used to push towards the thralls pushing them back and sending them sprawling. It wasn't enough to cover them entirely out of the fight and once they got back up they would be a threat, but Ryo wanted to create breathing room. Now that he had it he stopped and drew more cards filling his hands back up to nine a piece. Keeping an eye on the remaining forces.

Glaring from his eye sockets to his left, Frederick saw that Ryo also had started to engage the enemy. Which he did in a similar fashion to Frederick himself. Ruthless and without any second thought, however the hooded mage doubted it was because of a disregard of human lives like he had.

On thing was certain though, with Ryo covering the left flank, Frederick could go all out on the remainders of thralls on his side. The man was after all a S rank classed mage just like himself, certainly he could hold his own against a couple of mindless husk.

What would spread like an oil stain in clear water, was an imminent darkness originated from Frederick itself. A dark mass that seem to slowly gulf from underneath his cloak. However because of the devoid of light the old building harnessed, the mass was just barely visible. As it became one with the blackness of the abandoned guild itself.

Awareness didn't matter however, since the husks seemed to lack any. They just strolled forwards, unnerved and unbothered by the black puddle that spread underneath their feet. Which indicated that the first battle was going to be as easy as stealing candy from a child.

When the dark mass had reached a large enough radius to entrap most of the thralls, Frederick moved his arm with the palm of his hand aimed forwards, just as if he tried to push something lightly away. It probably would've looked silly, as if Fredericks was some sort of mental ward patient that saw things that weren't supposed to be there.
If only it wasn't for the sharp black stalagmites that spurred out of the dark mass and raged towards a the thralls in a straight line. Piercing through two of them until it reached a larger group of five. There the sharp black formation branched out shredding each and everyone of them. Leaving their corpses hanging, until they dropped on the floor with a soft thudding sound. The moment the black creations sunk back into the dark puddle.

Immediately following that attack, Frederick summoned two large spouts of black mass. That shot two separate thralls straight into the ceiling. As his first attack only took out the middle part of the wave of thralls. Leaving some of them to close in on him from both sides. And Frederick wasn't particular fond on close combat. In fact he preferred to stall it as long as possible until it was a necessity to his survival. Something that rarely happens, since he always focussed on large groups and crowd control with his magic.

Ryo glanced over and saw how well Frederik was handling himself. He was quite impressed with it, but he didn't have time to stand there and gawk at his partner. He turned and looked at the three who were just starting to get off the floor. He picked two cards and jumped back several times. When he leapt to the side he threw those cards. They ended up behind the wall of earth he had made. He snapped his fingers and suddenly the whole room filled with the light of an explosion. The three foes who had fallen and were just starting to get up were caught in the explosion and started to burn.

Ryo looked to the target that he had previously paralyzed and smirked throwing five cards at him. After a moment they ignited and traveled towards the target. Three of the five hit the target. One on it's face, one on it's chest, and one on it's leg. The flaming cards stayed and the flames spread from just the cards to the entire body of the thrall. It wasn't the smell, the sight, or anything like that, that got to Ryo. It was the fact that the Thrall didn't scream, didn't cry out, she as far as Ryo could tell it was a girl; she just died. Her humanity was lost, the was repulsive and even more cause for Ryo to kill these vegetables. He looked to the last three opponents and pulled out three cards before putting the rest away and drawing some playing cards. He threw all ten of the cards with both of his hands towards the three remaining targets. After a moment the cards split and doubled then they struck the three remaining targets. Sadly of the 20 cards that were thrown 15 of the cards struck, but they were amazingly fortunate to split evenly between the three remaining targets. They fell like ears of corn.

Ryo took a moment to look around and see the destruction and slaughter that he and Frederik had wrought. He sighed as he slowly pulled out the rest of his cards to fill both of his hands. When the cards were in his hand he spoke again "I am sorry if what I said earlier offended you Frederick. However in my eyes there are three types of people in this world. Enemies, Nobodies, and Friends. These husks and those who I need to kill or get rid of, are Enemies, Nobodies are the innocents of everyday life, and finally Friends are those few people I choose to interact with, protect, and trust. I Trust you to help me finish this job. I trust you to kill me before I can become a thrall like these husks. In that sense you are a friend. Also whether or not you identify as a Sabertooth guild mage, so long as you work with the guild, wear the mark, or anything of the kind you are. That means whether you like it or not I view you as an ally of mine." He said with finality. He then looked down the hallway and inhaled slowly before Exhaling "Now let's get this job done." he said as he began to walk further into the guild hall.

'Yeah... whatever you have to tell yourself. Just don't expect the same kindness from me.'

Frederick always found it hard to deal with these kinds of people, mages who perceived any fellow guild member as an unwavering ally devoted to their partner. Just because they shared the same roof over their heads. To him they were the self righteous, the do gooders who always believed the best in people. But that was just his own personal egotistical view on the matter. An internal matter in his mind, where he refused to see that Ryo was far more then just protagonist type of character.

However while Frederick responded rather rude to what was said to him earlier, it turned out that advancing deeper into the guild wasn't such an easy task to begin with. Following the first wave of attack of thralls, came another group. Only this time it was larger, and seemed to mass together in the created gap of empty space. Created by the two mages as they ventured a bit forward. Meaning that, whoever was controlling these husks, and planted them strategically between the mages and their only exit.

To make matters even worse, out of the darkness in front of them slowly appeared a new enemy. Black as night and growling they approached them, their burning crimson eyes piercing through the darkness itself. They were canine in appearance, but only larger then most common dogs. More like wolves.
They reminded Frederick of the Garm, the giant hound like entities that roamed the catacombs of Savage Skull. And if they were anything like that, these beast wouldn't be as easy to deal with.

Shifting back and forth with his head, Frederick quickly assessed the situation. He himself was closer to the horde of thralls then Ryo was, and also he hadn't ventured out of the field of dark mass yet. Meaning that the horde had to traverse through it first.

'I'll keep them of our backs...' Frederick had turned around and had taken a few steps towards horde. While simultaneously he formed a larger number of black pikes and stalagmites, that together formed a low wall in front of him as they faced the enemy in a oblique matter. 'You make sure those dogs don't scratch mine.

Ryo rolled his eyes lightly and shook his head "Yeah, yeah. I know, I know. Doesn't mean I think any differently."

He couldn't understand Frederick's hang up, but he wasn't particularly worried about it at this point in time. Ryo heard the movements before he saw anyone at all. He frowned deeply as he turned to see many, many more thralls coming out of the darkness to pose a threat to him, and to his partner. He frowned as he heard the soft unmistakable clicking of claws against stone. He knew this sound all to well from his years of raising and training Gora. When he turned and saw the hounds that were approaching him he wished very dearly that he had his great Direwolf here with him. Still he didn't and there was no point in worrying about it now.

He frowned deeply as he put away the cards in his left hand and quickly drew up some other cards. These were the corner pieces to helping him with his next fight. Sadly he knew that he wouldn't have enough cards to make all of his opponents stop in their tracks, but he could at least give them pause long enough to handle a couple of them. He didn't need Frederick to tell him what group of targets were his, but he nodded his head lightly. He smirked as he pulled up the cards and threw them "Hey ladies!!" he called out loud enough for those in the room to hear. He then threw the nine cards and smirked as he watched them fly. Soon enough all the cards burst in a puff of red smoke each producing two of the sexiest women Frederick has ever seen, but all were pale with eyes of crimson. They were clearly women who were formed to look like vampires. 14 in total, and they instantly went to the hounds. the ladies rushed to the hounds. Two went to the first seven, but three remained free.

The hounds however were confused as these women looked identical to their vampiric masters and possibly smelled the same or similar, but they were fawning over and holding onto the hounds tightly keeping them in place. Ryo pulled up his next cards smiling "Now's the time for me to play my king." he said as he kept two cards in hand the others he shuffled back into his decks. "Attack Combo: Lightning staff." He slowly focused his magic and the two cards began to form a staff made of lightning. He smirked as he walked towards the three free hounds "Now it's time to put some dogs down." he said as he struck the first hound square in the back sending an arch of lightning through the beast dropping it dead to the floor.

At the same time as Ryo started to deal with the canine beasts in front of him, behind him the large horde of thralls launched their assault on Frederick. Charging at him, with dull faces. No emotion or battle cry at all. Just the sounds of their running steps, as they ran straight into their own demise the very moment as Frederick raised his hands as if he was a director of an large orchestra. Indicating them to raise the volume of their music.

Only instead of a variety of instruments conducting gorgeous classic tunes, like Beethoven or Bach. Frederick forced the wall of pikes and stalagmites that he had created before to rapidly branch out forwards, covering almost his entire black field with the same formations. Which would raise out of the ground and shredded or pierced through the thralls, the moment they collided with Frederick's formations.

'Tch, pathetic creatures, yet I have to hand it to them. They are determined' he said out loud, clearly hinting to the few thralls that were left. Just because they were in the rear of the attacking horde. Even though some were still heavily damaged. Missing a limb or two. Yet still moving forwards, unaware of their pain or suffering. Which showed how strong the vampires grip was over these lost souls.

The remainder of the horde, were met with the same cruel fate their kin was greeted with. As single black spikes would spur out of the black field and pierced through them one more time. And slight raised them off the ground. Only to make their bodies fall down with a plumping sound, the moment the black creations vanished back into the dark mass they came from.
Now with an empty field around him Frederick gazed upon the devastation he had caused, dead bodies scattered everywhere, some of them with severed limbs but most had large gaping wounds. But what was peculiar about them was the fact that there was now blood gushing out, not large puddle of the crimson liquid. Which probably was another after effect of being subjugated to the endless feeding of vampires. Only so that they could quell their thirst for a few moments.

Frederick kept standing there for a few seconds, peering into the imminent darkness. Only to make sure he hadn't missed any, or if there was another wave coming their way. After all, making the mistake of not being cautious could cost you your head, even against weak beings as mere thralls.

As the dead hound fell the other two who were free turned their heads to Ryo. They were a bit too slow however as Ryo rushed forward and brought his staff down on the head of one of the two and dropped it much like he had the one before it. The third however backed up however and snarled at him. This only caused the card mage to smirk and slap his staff against one of the beasts that were being held by his laides killing it instantly with an arch of lightning traveling through it.

This served to do exactly what Ryo wanted and it was get the other Fell beast mad enough to do something stupid. The beast leapt at Ryo paws forward and jaws ready for the kill. Ryo only smirked and shoved his staff of lightning into the beast's mouth and throat. The ensuing lightning show showed the entire skeleton of the beast and filled the room with weird light. The beast had managed to get half way down the staff however and Ryo had to lower it to the ground and push it off with his boot with a disheartening schloorp. With the hounds cut down Ryo turned to the six that were still stuck. Most of them were still passafied by the foolish trick, but there were a pair that were starting to bite and snap struggling against the women holding them.

Not wanting this to be a total victory Ryo only struck one of the weaker ones with a fierce strike that caused the staff to jump as it sent lightning racing around the beast. With a bark one of the fighters broke away and made a charge at Ryo. The mage didn't even flinch he simply began to twirl his staff in front of him and create a dazzling light show for the beasts to look at. However the one charging him wasn't about to be stopped by something so simple. He continued his charge sliding directly into the show suffering the powerful shock from the weapon. Now with one of the problems dead Ryo walked over to the next beast slapping his staff along it's back cracking it and killing it with his lightning staff due to the powerful shock. He continued this systamatic execution slapping each one with his powerful staff along different locations of their body sending them to the afterlife with a dazzling bolt of lightning.

As he struck the last one across it's neck killing it he turned and looked back at Frederick with a smirk "Dogs can't kill a man, and it takes a man to kill a monster." He looked at his cohort's actions and smiled a bit wider "Well a little bloody, but the results are undeniable. Well done." he said as he turned and looked down the hallway tightening his grip on his staff as he tried to start forward once more.

'Off course, did you expected anything else'

A cold reply to what was nothing more then a honest praise for Frederick's own display of skill, yet as always met with a hostile tone. But what could you expect from someone who after several years of ruling as the guild master of a dark guild, as well had made it his life mission to turn everything into dust just so that he could revive a single person from the death. No if all, it was to be expected to have walls risen so high that even a child in pain couldn't topple them.

But a wall doesn't need to be topple to break it down, no there were countless of other ways to wear down something so strong. Time for instance, or a welcome environment that regardless of ones behavior kept opening its arms for him. So even if he doesn't liked it, the walls that he had build, slowly started to show cracks in its structure.

Deciding not to spent anymore words, Frederick turned around and followed Ryo's lead. Slowly walking behind him with all his senses on high alert. Knowing that the enemy could come from any direction, especially in a place like this. A guild filled with darkness. It was literally their home field. And if they'd not walked through these halls with caution, then even petty creatures like those canine creatures, or swarms of thralls could become a serious problem.

And if it wasn't for the client and his wishes to keep this place as much intact as possible, Frederick would have dealt with these problems already. Just by vaporizing the entire building and everything in it into nothingness. But then again, blasting the living hell out of this place still didn't mean it would eradicate the master. As he could easily hide somewhere in the bowels of the guild. Something Frederick was terribly sure this place had, after all Savage Skull had them and they didn't need the darkness as a living environment. They had it though, but they didn't need it. So why wouldn't a den of vampires have some large catacomb system where sunlight would never touch.

Realizing this possibility Frederick could only sigh, knowing full well that finishing this job before supper might not be possible. A bold and cocky statement, that had come back only so that it could bite him in the ass.

At Frederick's cold reply Ryo just scoffed and shook his head a smile on his face. He knew the answer he was going to get before he made the compliment, still he wasn't going to be anything less than himself in this mission. He hoped that by the end of it he and Frederick would be a bit closer, but he wasn't exactly going to hold his breath for that little miracle. Instead he was more focused now on the job. Twice now these damned monsters had gotten the drop on them, and it was only due to their immense power that they were able to fight off such an invading force. This didn't bode well with Ryo, and he was now more determined than ever to make sure he was alert.

With this brief interval Ryo decided it was best to dismiss his weapon. With a pulse of his magic the lightning staff vanished into the thin air. With his hands now free Ryo knelt down and took his spurs off of his boots tucking them away inside one of his many jacket pockets. This would help him somewhat in the regard of stealth and that was much needed here. When he was finished he reached into his element deck box and sent a pulse of magic into it. All of the cards reacted flaring up with their elemental properties. The beackon being nothing but a trick for him to pick up a light card. He pulled it out and sent some of his magic into it. As he did so the card began to glow and illuminate the room around them for half a meter away from Ryo. It was a risk he needed to take he was at an extreme disadvantage compared to both Frederick, and the enemies he now faced.

As he walked further down the hallway he saw that on either side of the hallway were doors that most likely led to other rooms, and other passageways. Still he would never know unless he actually decided to open a door and look inside. He sighed as he wasn't sure this plan would go over particularly well with Lord Frederick. He stopped at the first door on the right side of the hallway and gripped the handle "We need to know where these damned doors lead and if there are more enemies behind them. We can't be cornered and trapped in a hallway this small. It'll be the end for us if that's the case. So I say we need to systematically open each door and leave it open. That way we know what doors are clear and what aren't."

He looked at the door he was holding and then sighed as he pushed it open forcing more magic into the card so it would illuminate the room even more. Thankfully this room was just a run down old room, with some old worn away furniture. Nothing evil or hostile lurking inside of it. He exhaled a soft sigh of relief before he turned to look at Frederick "Okay you can open the next one." he said as he let the light die down a bit and he stepped fully back into the hallway tucking his card away.

The vague light from Ryo's card, illuminated the path in front of them just enough, so that they could distinguish the doors at the side of the hall. Which made Frederick question the structure of the building for a second, because of the shallow light that provided them visual aid, it felt as if the room they were walking in was an endless, never-ending hall way. A wide hall way, but an hall way still.

As quickly as that thought came to pass it vanished, the moment Ryo proposed a rather questionable approach to their current situation. Well not really questionable, as what Ryo said about the many doors was true. But more the the idea of checking out every room behind those doors. Sure Frederick understood that caution was a virtue, especially in situations like this. But going door by door, just to check for enemies was going to slow down their, already slow pace.

Frederick watched as Ryo, slowly opened the first door. Silently judging his method, because if there really was something hiding behind the old creaking doors. Then it certainly wouldn't wait for him to give it a good look. No if they were really going to do this, then they had to be quick about it, and above all use significant force.

The moment when Ryo returned from his inspection of the room, that apparently contained probably nothing more then old run down furniture, and suggest that Frederick should take the next one. Frederick actually already stood ready to inspect the other rooms. But not by carefully glimpsing in.

Out of the darkness from his own cloak, ten large featureless tentacles rushed out and swirled and twirled towards the five nearest doors. Crashing through them with such a velocity, that the splinters flew all around the hall. But it didn't stop there, just as Ryo did Frederick was actually inspecting the rooms. Only less subtle, judging from the loud noise it created. That could only indicate that the black extension were destroying anything and everything that those rooms could possible hold.

    'there done'

He said while the tentacles slowly moved back from the broken down rooms, and twirled all the way back like snakes to Frederick. Only so that they could lay dormant around him. Waiting for the next target to attack.

Ryo returned to Frederick smiling as he was sure this idea was the best course of action. At least to him it was the smartest and the safest. He was sure that Frederick would agree with his decision so it would proceed smoothly. This plan of course was not how it would actually play out. It never is how one hopes it shall play out. No instad Frederick summoned some strange tendrils and broke down ten doors smashing things that were inside the rooms of course and perhaps startling a few creatures that weren't in them, but now giving the whole guild hall an alert to the intruders.

Of course the whole guild hall would've had to have been deaf not to hear the intrustion long before this, but the fact remained that this was just going to add even more unnecessary noise to the already obnoxious entrance the two of them had made. True enough most of the noise had been caused by him, but he couldn't resist the fact that he was beyond annoyed with Frederick. Still he rolled his eyes bit down his annoyance at the situation and smiled at Frederick as he began to walk from room to room looking in through the doors with his light element card. He wasn't sure what the rooms would hold, and he really didn't want to know or find out they were holding something bad. He finally spoke, and as he did there wasn't a hint of anything but genuine enthusiasm "Well this certainly speeds up the plan. It also seems that any enemies who were in these rooms will at least be a bit injured now. The absolute worst case is that they now come down this hallway, and at least if they do that then they are in a funnel and from what I can see any normal size human, vampire, or anything could only walk three abreast. So if they come down this hall it'll be like shooting stuffed animals."

With this he checked the last room before the darkness swallowed the rest of the hallway. He stepped back closer to Frederick and took his position next to him looking down the hall. It was almost a guarentee that they were going to have company now. He drew his full hands letting the cards float above his palms as he heard the sound of footsteps coming down the hallway.

'Well at least now we actually have a chance of attracting the vampires patriarch, instead of skulking through these shadows as mere burglars'

Responded Frederick with the same lack of enthusiasm, as Ryo did when he spoke. Yet with a small hint of satisfaction, satisfaction because he managed to unsettle Ryo, even if it was in the smallest way possible.

Little did Frederick knew, that he was about to get exactly what he asked for. The moment his black tendrils tore through the doors and everything that could possibly be inside the rooms behind them. Also awakened the very master of the vampires Frederick was talking about. Well not so much as awaken as he or she was probably already aware of the intruders in his lair. But more so jumped into action when realizing that Ryo and Frederick weren't two ordinary mages .

And it did so in a surprising manner, while from the front the soft scuffling of the dead hounds increased rapidly to a point they were actually running at them. Underneath them something else moved, a new group of undead thralls now under direct control of the master had started to tear apart some of the supporting pillars that kept a part of the hall up. To such a point that the floor would crack open and come crashing down, along with the person standing on it. Which in this case was Frederick.

Now down in the hole, between the rubble. Frederick pushed away any woodwork that was covering him and focussed immediately on his surroundings. Knowing that whatever caused the cave in, was probably still roaming down here. Only because of the dust from the impact had yet to settle, his sight was being blinded.
Luckily, Frederick could quickly pinpoint on what, or who it were that caused this event. Judging from the soft scuffling of feet, he immediately knew it were more of the thralls that were ready to mess with him.

Still laying in the rubble, Fredericks anger started to rise. To a point that his black aura actually started to manifest. Putting pressure on his surrounding. While three of the black featureless tentacles shot out from underneath the rest of the broken floor boards, and immediately took three thralls with them, as each carried those thralls into the nearest wall. Where they came to a crashing and deadly halt. While in the meantime Frederick had risen from between the rubble, his hood now down. While his were faint white bulbs in a now almost blackened silhouette.

At his teammate's statement Ryo couldn't help but chuckle softly nodding his head in agreement "You are correct it will probably save us a lot of time trying to comb through these ruins to find our target. Thank you oh so much for that." he said with geniune enthusiasm. He couldn't help but love the fact that Frederick seemed to like getting his goat, but he didn't always seem to mean it.

As he heard the sounds of running steps he swore softly and quickly drew both of his hands full of cards. He wasn't going to be caught unaware, or unprepared. Yet, he didn't feel like he was prepared for the sounds that were coming from underneath their feet. He wasn't sure what was making those sounds, but he knew that he wouldn't like whatever was making the sounds. He stepped forward and turned around to see Frederick falling through the floor. His heart dropped just like Frederick did. He took a step back aghast shaking his head in disbelief. He had no clue that they were above anything. He didn't know that there was a floor beneath their feet, and to see what he thought was a steady floor collapse brought a whole new perspective to the whole mission.

It was the sound of claws on the floor however that caused Ryo to focus and he turned to see the red eyes of the Shadow Beasts. He realized that his life was in just as much danger as Frederick's was right now. He ran into the nearest room smiling as he saw the windows were just simply boarded up. He ran to the window and kicked the planks of wood out of window letting the light come into the room. He turned and readied his spells as 20 of the shadow beasts slowly stalked into the room growling. Ryo glanced to his breast pocket on his vest knowing there were three cards there that would come in great handy right now, but he didn't want to use his ace in the hole. He knew however he had to get to Frederick if something happened to his comrade he would never forgive himself.

The first three hits were also a three lucky hits, as Frederick could barely see inside the dust cloud. That still seemed to have trouble to settle down, from the crashing floor earlier. And since the thralls didn't exactly have a significant sign of life force, it was also quite difficult to detect them, if one would focus on their flowing energy. Nor did they have some sort of latent magical power source. Leaving, all together, Frederick as blind as a bat.

Even pinpointing them on sound was difficult, not because the crash could have left a buzzing sound in his head. Because it didn't, but because Fredericks anger had reached one of its famous peaks. So tactics, or pinpointing the enemies location based on the echoing scuffling of their feet through the rubble, had all flown out of the window.

No instead, the remaining seven extension also came crashing from underneath the rubble. And just starting to slam and punch into the ground all around him. Hitting thralls just randomly, the three other tentacles that had taken already three of them. Quickly pulled out of the wall, leaving nothing more then three holes smeared with blood and crushed pulp behind. And joined the fray of their kindred.

When the dust finally started to settle, the tendrils would retract themselves all the way back to their master and rise above Frederick. Taking a form of what best could be compared to that of a scorpions tale, they would hand ominously above his head. Ready to strike to anything else that dared to move. Which luckily didn't happen, because as soon as the dust had completely fallen on the ground it revealed the devastation Fredericks tendrils had caused. A reflection of his cruelty, a fragment of his former self with no regard for the human beings.

What was supposed to surround him, was now not nothing more then several puddles of bloody pulp. Thralls that were stampeded and refined to a human mashed potato stew. By the many, and many hits of tentacles that crashed into them.

But then there was something else, a small flicker of magical power somewhere hidden inside the nearby shadows. That almost instantly initiated Fredericks primal instincts to react to it, by sending two of his black tendrils to it location with a ferocious speed. Almost rivaling that of the top S rank mages of Fiore.

However what it hit was nothing more then the wall, hidden inside the darkness. Yet Frederick was sure he sensed something there. It had to be something strong, something powerful that actually managed to evade his attack.

He shook his head as he quickly focused on the one white card he drew. He focused and sent magic into it causing it to change from a cancel card into a shield card. He knew it would come in handy sooner or later. However right now he wouldn't be needing it just now. Instead he quickly tucked away most of his cards instead pulling up three more playing cards. With them and his water element card, and his enhance card. With a flick of his wrist he sent two of the cards down in front of him. As soon as he moved however the hounds were on him. Two broke away from the pack and charged at him with incredible speed. Ryo was quicker and threw down all six of his playing cards at once sending three jets of water towards one hound, and the other three into the other one. This caused both hounds to be pushed away and off of their feet sprawling through the room into several old pieces of furniture.

Ryo didn't waste a moment on this however he picked six more cards and sent his magic into them a spell circle brown in color formed in front of him and he quickly threw his four playing cards through the circle. As each one hit the floor the ground immediately around it began to shape and form into spikes. All four of them struck out towards the group of hounds. Three of the spikes got a target, but the last one only managed to fill up the door to the room. This had a two-pronged effect the first was to keep some of the hounds out of the room, but also it kept Ryo locked in the room with more than half of the hounds. He shook his head as he looked at his cards, but he didn't have time to really come up with anything as two of the hounds launched at him. Ryo swore loudly as he rolled forward dodging one attack only to be attacked once again by the other. The mage growled as he threw three of his four remaining element cards at his target. They slammed into the hound and knocked it away, but it wouldn't be enough. So Ryo did what he could do next "Defense Combo: Light Dome!" He placed both of the cards under him and in a flash a dome of light magic and energy covered him up. The Shadow beasts all took a step back snarling and growling at the pure light magic that was now filling the room.

One of the more foolish, and annoyed beasts lunged at the shield slamming into it full force only to be vaporized by the power of the light spell that Ryo had just cast. Inside Ryo sighed heavily as he drew the three cards out of his pocket "I am sorry Frederick I'm gonna have to take a bit longer to get rid of these pests." he inhaled slowly as magic began to slowly flow into them and as it did they hovered around him. This would cause his magical output to spike dramatically as his spell began to work. Ryo's eyes glowing royal purple his eyes vanishing completely to be replaced by these glowing purple orbs.
