Sweet Beginning (Guild)

There was a chocolate bar in his right hand, being shaken as it's owner was eating from what was inside that hand. It was so delicious, and it made Elyx much more than happy. However, it only could heal so much, he was lost. According to what he heard, he needed to find a guild so he could find a new goal in life. This was the new life he needed to live, and there is nothing left in his old tribe. He was much better than what they gave to him, and all they gave to him was a handful of lies and a few mental images he never needed in his life. Yet, the chocolate was able to numb those memories easily. His face glowing brightly as he let out his natural cat-like grin.

The scenery was rather huge, but sadly it seemed more like a district than an area in which a guild can be held. Well, there were some things Elyx could do right now for fun, like maybe find himself a pet, make a new friend, make a new rival, make a new enemy, buy more chocolate... yeah that's all he has in his life to do. This is why he needed a guild that desperately. He knew he had the potential. All he would have to do is find someone from a guild. Yet, despite having many reasons to be disappointed, he was happy. It was like this one treasure hunter he met back a few years ago, who taught him about the symbol he bears on his collar bone. The "III" that he hides from everyone.

What was her name... she told me right before we departed. I remember her face and clothing correctly... there's no way I can forget that. Elyx thought as he tore into the chocolate bar again. The girl he was trying to remember has Pink messy hair and walked around with a bag of gold on her back. She seemed nice though, so bounties seemed out of the question. She could have been a con-artist, but she was so nice and sweet. Also, if that were the case, she would have less clothing on to reel in the fish. NIMPHA! Yes, that was it. She always had a smile on her face, maybe even more than I did. Heh, it is even in her title nowadays. The Happy Treasure Hunter... but just because she is happy, doesn't mean she can't fight. How else would she get that much gold?

Elyx placed his left hand in his pocket and munched off the last piece of his chocolate before he pulled out a cloth from his right pocket and wiped his lips from the leftover chocolate. He had plenty amounts of chocolate with him, he didn't need the leftovers. He then put out his right palm and summoned his Violin into that hand, and a Violin bow into his left hand. He was a Musician, and playing music was one of his favorite things to do, and in this area, there were people to here it. He quickly placed his Violin into his left hand and his Bow in his right before he placed the bow on the G String. The bow slid quickly on the bow as he then began to play Quintus by Larry Clark.

"If I can't find a place to live, I at least need can entertain myself." Elyx said as he smiled. He then cut himself off when he realized that he was creating a little bit of wind, and he might've accidentally caused a bit of destruction, so he cut off his Violin playing and sat down on the ground, his grin lowering a little into a small grin and his eyes half-drooping, like he is thinking about a crush before sleeping. But he was a little bored and sad on how he still never truly controlled his magic yet. Something had to be done about it... but what...

So there he was, sitting on the ground, nibbling on another piece of chocolate to ease his sadness a little.

Two girls dressed in black and pink bunny hoodies walked down the path. They had just returned from a long walk to try and find a place for their new shop and were now headed back to the guild. The one in pink stopped as she noticed a man sitting on the side, she looked over him real quick. The sword and pack suggested he was an adventurer, the small grin on his face that he was rather wild and a chocolate bar. She grabbed the sleeve of the girl dressed in pink "Hey sis, look at him. reckon he's here for the guild? he looks like an adventure." She said as the other girl turned to look. "Probably. Let's go say hi." she said as they both pushed their way through people. "Hey. hey mister!" Ariel said look down at him her gold and blue eyes looking over him. Alie was on the other side, "Are you here for the guild?" she asked him smiling. A small breeze blew through the town ruffling their green hair, and the guild seal on their cheeks moved as they spoke to him.

Mister... mister? Wait, someone was calling out to him? A stranger obviously since his place was foreign, but he didn't mind that. They treat him better than the people he used to know anyway. Elyx's face raised it's grin once again when he found out that he was correct, someone was indeed calling for him. He quickly threw his Violin and Violin bow into the air and watched them shatter into the air as they returned to their proper place, the Violin case. Lerale magic, it was beautiful. Elyx then turned his head to the right to see that it wasn't just someone calling him, but two people. Twins, identical at that. They seemed like young girls, but Elyx seemed like a young teenager as well, but he was 17 in reality, so he will not say anything yet. He looked up to see that the twins surrounded him, on on his left side and one on his right.

A guild? Elyx asked as he then noticed that there were two marks, one on each of them. They look like tattoos, confirming they were from a guild. They certainly stuck out, even with hoods on. Elyx stood up from where he was from and walked a few steps before turning around. He want to talk to them face. How did you know about that? Elyx asked again as he bit onto the chocolate again. It was natural for him to eat sweets while talking. These girls seemed interesting, and for them to mention a guild, they were providing him exactly what he needed.

The girls watched the man do this little trick then stand up and ask about the guild. They looked at him and the one in pink stepped forward "I like to think I'm a good judge of character." she said smiling and pulling down her hood. "Also I saw the way your eyes looked at the tattoo." she said pointing to the guild seal on her cheek. The one dressed in black pulled her hood down too, revealing that she looked like a mirror image of the other girl. "Sis we gotta go. If he wants to get into the guild just ask Kaku, but we gotta go." she said turning to leave, Ariel grabbed the man's hand and followed her sister through the crowded streets.

Gotta go? But we only just... Elyx said as he was stopped by seeing one of the twins running. He reached out his hand as if trying to grab her, even though he knew that wasn't possible. What did she have to do that was so important for one second to greet someone, then at the next moment desperately say the both of them needed to go. Before he could put his arm back, the second twin grabbed Elyx's wrist quicker than him being able to pull it back. He only had a few seconds of confusion before being dragged by the young teenage twin, but it was amazing how she was able to pull him even though he was somewhat deadweight at first. She is rather strong though, and that should be expected for everyone in a guild.

Then the worst thing could've happened. The same arm being gripped was the one that held the chocolate bar in place, and from the sudden nudge of the arm, he opened it and dropped it onto the ground. All Elyx could do was watch in horror as his snack was being left behind by it's owner. He had plenty more of chocolate in his knapsack, but it was hard for him to take to leave the chocolate. MY CHOCOLATE! NOOOOOOOO! Elyx exclaimed as he was being dragged away from from the treat. The next thing he could hear from the direction was a dog barking 3 times before it stopped, and now Elyx found out what happened to his snack, and it was a shame. Elyx then turn his head around. Where are we going? Elyx asked, trying to forget the chocolate, but his eyes ready to burst.

Finally, Jin had arrived at the port city which was supposed to be where the guild was located. He had waited seven years to come to this city and join this guild. The curiosity, the intrigue it had kept him going and also his love for magic. Now he was there, in the port, helping people to load a ship with its load. Wait, what was he doing? Yes, the kind young man with a smile on his face was working just because someone had asked him to. He was really nice so a drunk old laborer asked him to do his work for him and get him the pay. He wasn’t stupid, he knew it was a wrong thing to do but he couldn’t say no. He was certainly being taken an advantage of. ”Just two more and I’m done”, after a few minutes he was finally done. It had taken him a whole two hours and right after he had arrived too. As asked, he took the gold and gave the drunk old guy his pay and then without saying a word he left. He knew that if he stayed and asked for directions the old man was going to ask him for a favor again and he wouldn’t be able to say no.

As he walked through the city, he heard someone playing a violin and wind began to pick up. ”What’s happening?” he began to head towards the source of that sound. By the time the musician ended his splendid music playing, Jin had already gotten close. People were walking by saying some bad stuff about the musician since he had seemed to have caused some destruction. ”Wasn’t he just playing his violin? How did he… Ah, a magician!” his interest was hooked. Not once did he consider this person to be a bad guy for some reason.

Before he could get closer to the violinist, he sat down and began to eat chocolate. ”Gulps.. chocolate” Jin stopped in his tracks and stared at the chocolate. The musician’s back was towards him and he was standing behind him, drooling like a hungry dog. The truth was when he had gotten off the ship he came into, he was pretty hungry. He had only asked the old laborer for directions when the old man asked him for the favor. So he had been working all this time with an empty stomach. By now, his stomach was even audible and the sight of chocolate was even a bigger catalyst. He had quite the sweet tooth after all.

Now he had to decide whether to go and talk to this person or first go and get something to eat. Did he had the money though? Nope, he had spent all of it in order to get here. He had things sorted out when he came here and that was to just get here. Then find the guild, make some friends and go on those jobs that mages go to. May be the guild would be kind enough to give him something to eat too. Before he could approach the magician a pair of twins arrived and conversed with him. When he decided to approach the group, the girls were already on their away and apparently, the musicians chocolate was gone too.

As the man was dragged by one of the twins, Jin waved at the individual running after him. ”Excuse me, would you be by any chance from the Black Rose guild?” he said in a loud voice audible to the people around them as he ran after the group.

Alie and Ariel looked back at the man who was calling for them they guessed. Alie rolled her eyes. "I'll get him." She said U-turning to grab the man's hand and follow her sister. They both dragged the men through the streets and around corners and through alleyways before they finally stopped a river cutting through town, the two girls sat down on a bench by the water side and smiled, looking back at the two people they managed to drag along. "Welcome to the Guild Hall of Black Rose." Alie said pointing to a building sitting on one of the many bridges that was across the city. It was a wooden structure that extended to both ends of the bridge, light easily seen from the windows almost made it look like an inn of some sorts. They both rolled over to look at the two men and crossed their arms over the back of the bence. "So? who are you guys?" Ariel asked

Elyx placed his hands in his pockets the instant his right arm was freed. For their size, they were strong, maybe even stronger than Elyx himself. If so, he wonders how a regular man would be in the guild. One of the twins asked both Elyx and the newly found man who they were. Formal introductions time, though Elyx hated to think of himself as any higher than anyone else, it was only fair to speak formally to the ones who brought him into what seemed like a house of organization. It was probably a guild house, though admittingly there was a lot of clutter, despite how organized it was. He looked at the space between the twins, who were sitting so maybe they could catch the fact that he wasn't looking at either of their eyes directly.


My name is Elyx Reiaki. Elyx said as he bowed formally, his right arm crossing him stomach. He then lifted his head back up to look at the twins once again. He quickly swiped a chocolate bar from his knapsack and bit on the treat with delight in every bite. His eyes closed as his grin became a huge smile. He then continued talking. As you figured from before, I was looking for a guild.

Jin had no idea when his hand ended up grabbed by the other twin and he too was now dragged along the musician. Following through the crowd, he did bump into one or two of them, apologizing to each one when he did. He was starving and now he was running, not to mention bumping into people, what a dilemma. Thankfully, it didn’t take them long to reach the destination. A large hall of the guild, reaching the hall he forgot about how hungry he was. Not only that, he also didn’t let go of the twins hand instead he began shaking it with a smile, ”So you were guild member? Why didn’t you say so earlier? I’ve been looking around for mages of Black Rose everywhere”

He was too excited to be able to meet another mage and moreover a guild member of Black Rose. [color:90c4=6a5acd]”Oh, oh, would you mind showing me your guild tattoo?” he asked sounding like a fan girl. Then the other twin inquired of their identities, while the musician introduced himself, Jin forgot that he was still shaking Ailee’s hand. So while Elyx was talking, Jin was smiling, looking at him and still shaking Ailee’s hand, indeed an awkward situation for the twin.

After Elyx was done talking, he realized it was his turn to speak and then he noticed it, finally that he was holding her hand. Letting go he backed up a step, ”Sorry sorry, in my excitement to meet a guild member of Black Rose I forgot what I was doing. I’m Okura Jin, I can use magic too and I want to be a part of this guild and I’ve been waiting seven years to get here. By the way, what kind of magic do you use? And who are you, you didn’t introduce yourselves and can we meet the guild master?” He was indeed hungry but the excitement had pushed him into talkative mode. So many questions were popping up in his mind that he couldn’t keep them. He asked the twins of their identities and what magic they used. The magic question was directed at Elyx too because he was going to be a guild member like him too, right?

Kakuma was again lurking in the rafters, Sophie was getting smarter though, so she would have to find a new hiding spot. But it didn't matter honestly, Kakuma would do what she wanted to do. Fine words if it were not for the fact that a ladder clunked into place a few seconds later. Kakuma looked at it and saw the top of Sophie's head appear. Kakuma rolled to the side and bolted for the door, She could hear Sophie calling after her voice full of anger. Kakuma didn't care, she would rather save the lecture for later. Kakuma pulled the door open and ran outside, only to trip and fall. Sophie thankfully didn't come after her. So Kakuma was fine picking herself up, nose bloody from her fall, and find a place to nap. Or she would have if she didn't notice the twin with to strangers. Kakuma blinked and walked over her bloody nose forgotten. "Hello."

Ariel smiled as the musician magician introduced himself. He seemed nice she glanced over at the other one, who was a little too enthusiastic to be in a place like this. Alie was actually being shaken a little herself be . "Are you trying to tear it off?" she asked rubbing her hand. "I'm Alie and this is my sister Ariel." she smiled motioning to her. Ariel listened as the two men introduced themselves, listening to all of Jin's questions and chuckling a little. "You'll find out all in time. As for the guild master you'll have to-" she stopped as Kakuma clumsily rolled down the stairs then went to greet the two men. "Mommy!" they both yelled as they ran to hug her from either side. "These people want to join Mommy!" Ariel spoke, seeming to become suddenly more child like "Can they mommy? pleeease?" Ariel asked, acting much the same wat.

Alie and Ariel, if that didn't confirm their sisterhood, Elyx could never imagine what would. The man next to him, his questions were answering what Elyx himself was wondering, but he would never ask them that fast or in that way. He would just let things work out the way they do rather than ask them so fast. He expected the answer that one of the twins gave. Speaking of which, he needed some sort of way of identifying which twin was which. Clothing won't do at all, he needed some sort of facial or arm feature he could rely on, maybe not even then. There must be at least something other than their behavior that separates them from each other right? Their behavior even seems hard o tell the difference between, they seem so lively and adorable.

They were interrupting in the middle of a sentence when they were talking about the Guild Master. They turned their heads towards a woman with a... bleeding nose. Was she ok!? But she seemed to have a normal facial expression before the twins blocked sight of the woman. She seemed rather calm for having her nose bleeding so heavily like it is. Oh, er... Hey there. Elyx said as he waved, keeping his smiling on his face. He then bit once more into the chocolate bar before looking up again. Oh, so you're their mother as will as the Guild Master right?

Jin's fascination only continued to grow by each passing moment. He didn't get the answer to his questions but he at least got the name of the twins. Alie and Ariel, the names that he was going to remember."Nice to meet you two" said Jin with a gentle smile. He didn't recall the name of the mages that he had met in his childhood, he only remembered the name of the guild. So technically the first ever guild member he met would be the twins. Lively and childish, not to mention cute, he was always fond of children. These two had cast an impression on him that he would grow to admire.

In mid sentence, the twins stopped and ran to a lady heading towards them. Her nose was bleeding but she didn't seem too affected by it. However, the kind young gentleman wasn't going to just stand there. Along with the twins, he rushed off to her side and offered her a handkerchief, patting on her head he inquired: "Are you okay madam?". At that moment, he recognized them as the twin's mother, possibly a mage of the guild. Then they asked her if he and the other mage could join. Why would they ask their mom for permission? Wouldn't they need to ask the guild master?

For a moment he was puzzled, then Elyx pointed out the obvious and he realized that he was patting the head of the Guild master. He was shocked with that revelation and stepped back a little overwhelmed by her presence. He had idealized to meet this person and now she stood before him. Her demeanor was childish but she emanated an aura that was just majestic for him. "Apologies for acting inappropriately Guild master. As the twins have informed you, I'd also like to join this guild. Please, allow us to be a mage of Black Rose" he requested with all seriousness and sincerity. Each word spoken clearly and with a pure intent.

Kakuma knelt down as the twins came running up, Kakuma smiled at the two as they barraged her with a few questions. They hugged her as they asked, Kakuma looked at the two men and stood up again. one walked up and put his hand on her head, a hand she was forcing herself to not remove. But if he was paying attention her hackles definitely puffed up, clearly showing her dissatisfaction. after a few second her realized what he had just done and removed his hand.

"Apologies for acting inappropriately Guild master. As the twins have informed you, I'd also like to join this guild. Please, allow us to be a mage of Black Rose" He spoke a apologize as Kakuma glared at him.

"Please do not call me guild master, its not my name." There were a few people around the group that were laughing at the situation.

"Hey Kid, its best to just use her name," a old man who was repairing a net on the dock nearby. "And don't mention anything about her height!" Kakuma shot the man a glare, he just winked at her and went back to fix his net.

Kakuma turned back to the two men. "So you wish to join Black Rose?" Kakuma pointed to the guild hall, "there is a woman in there named Sophie, tell her Kakuma sent you." Kakuma was being a bit mean, Sophie would be mad. But she considered it payback for him patting her head.

The twins smiled happily and hopped around excitedly "Yay new people!" Ariel joyfully declared as they ran around in circles laughing. They both ran up to the first man, Elyx, if they remembered correctly. "Hey mister Elyx, show us that cool trick again." She exclaimed happily. Alie chimed in "Yeah the one with the wooshing and the exploding violin." they looked at him with big blue and gold eyes. They just looked so cute and innocent that no one would guess they were insane killers. They stood there for a minute before they realized something: they don't know who Sophie is. The girls each grabbed a hand of the men who wanted to join and ran off to find the woman. Alie stopped at the door holding Jin's hand and turned to Kakuma "Mommy, you're bleeding." she said pointing to her own nose before following behind her sister.

Elyx was the given his reminder on how he could tell the difference between these too, he remembered which ones said which names. It was hard to tell the difference, and you had to look at their eyes to use this trick. Elyx noticed that one of the two twins had one yellow eye to the left and one blue eye to the right. The other twin had a blue eye on her left and a yellow on her right. He thought he memorized them until he was the approached by the two bouncy children, and they were asking if he could summon his Violin again. It was rather embarrassing for him to receive so much attention, he couldn't recall the last time he ever even got addressed with happiness. It felt great in his opinion. Elyx put his left hand behind his head as a small cartoon sweatdrop appeared on the side of his head, he had no words to say and all he could do was look stupid.

That was when one of the twins grabbed his right arm and dragged him away, hopefully towards their destination of wherever this Sophie person was. Despite that fact that the twins drag him everywhere, he didn't really mind the trouble. These two just wanted to play, and they were so adorable as well. Its hard not wanting to play with these adorable twins. But there was a reason why they were in a guild, they were deadly, like any member of a guild. Elyx wanted to be that strong, maybe in the future he can ask the twins for help on that. But for now, they are looking for a person, and that's all that mattered.

After apologizing Jin noticed that his gesture, that would normally be considered kind and caring wasn’t to the guild master’s liking. She also didn’t like being called by her position, obviously that wasn’t her name. He didn’t think it would be nice to point it out since he had already made a bad impression. The reason why he had to call her by her position was obviously because he didn’t know her name and he wasn’t told when she arrived. The old man from behind also pointed out that she didn’t like being called guild master and he also provided a valuable piece of information. Jin was going to keep this in mind since it was apparent that talking about her height was taboo.

Finally someone told her that her nose was bleeding right before Jin had to leave again with the twins. ”Alie, what’s your mommy’s name?” inquired Jin as he followed closely. Jin had indeed called a twin by her name, did that mean he already knew who was who? No, not really. He just assumed that like before it would be Alie who had grabbed his hand again and pulled him along. So instead of going by physical features, he was trying to establish a pattern and distinguish among the two my habits and personality. Though, that was proving to be quite difficult since both were quite lively and had very little difference in personality.

Jin didn’t admit it but he was jealous of Elyx since was getting attention from guild mages. Sure the guild mages were twins and children, so they were bound to like violins and flashy spells. He hadn’t showed his magic yet so he was waiting for that perfect time to reveal the wonders of what his caster magic could do.

Kakuma yawned as the Twins lead the two away, she looked at the old man. "Not funny Ceaser.
the old man simply smiled at her. Kakuma rolled her eyes and walked off to find something to do. She would avoid the Guild hall for a while, Sophie was in a mood and Kakuma had just pawned her work off on her. She kind of felt bad for the four, but only just.

The two girls pulled Jin and Elyx through the guild. They stopped a few times to ask other guildmates if they had seen her. They pointed the group in the right direction and off they went. They soon ran into a woman dressed white with purple red hair that hung down past her shoulders. Ariel ran up to her "Hey Charlotte, have you seen Sophie anywhere?" She asked. The woman looked at the people behind her and sighed. "She's in the library looking for Kakuma." She replied. Ariel smiled and took the lead in guiding the group through the twists and turns of the guild hall. Soon the group arrived at a large door that Alie pushed open, inside was another woman dressed in white, looking around the library. She looked almost exactly like the woman who had pointed them in this direction. Alie called out to her, "Sophie~ mommy sent us with these new people who want to join the guild." she said as the woman looked up. Ariel pulled both the men into the library, "Come on, we don't bite...much." she said taking them over to Sophie.
The woman named Sophie rubbed her temples "That woman..." she growled, took a deep breath and let it out. "Welcome to Black Rose boys. On part of the guild we welcome you the guild. Let's get you food and then we'll get you settled in. I'm sure you're both very tired." She said glaring slightly at the twins. They just shrugged "Mommy said so." Ariel replied.
