Myra had her headphones on, as she bobbed her head to the beat of the music. Light humming sounds escaped her mouth. She continued walking along the streets of Hargeon town until her peaceful session of relaxation was disrupted by loud squealing noises. Myra placed a hand on her headphones and slowly slid them down, making them hang around her neck. She frowned and turned around to see a bunch of girls gathered around someone, squealing. With curiosity bubbling up inside her, Myra slowly stepped toward them and stood on her toes to take a look what all the commotion was about. Sadly, her height wasn’t tall enough to see what was happening. Instead, she stood properly and moved her head slightly to the side to over hear the conversation. “Oh my god! You got a passport? From where?” Myra’s ears quirked up at the conversation. A passport, she thought, could help her travel to many places.
This excited her. She carefully listen as the girls carried on with their conversation oblivious to the fact that there was someone standing behind them, overhearing their conversation. “They’re giving out passports to everybody in town.” Myra quickly stepped backwards as the girls started moving. She leg go of the breath she was holding, surprised about the fact that no one saw her eavesdropping. She lightly smiled at the thought of having a passport. She rushed forward, not sure where to go. “Guess I’m gonna have to find this place myself.” She ran for a while, too excited at the thought of travelling, before coming to a halt in front of a crowd. She saw people pushing each other and screaming. Myra was sure that this was the place she could get a passport from but there was a tiny problem and that was the crowd. Myra has a fear of crowded places, they make her feel suffocated. She hesitated to move into the crowd. She felt her heart racing faster. She knew she couldn’t do it but that’s what made her want to do it even more. She started playing with the hem of her shirt out of nervousness. She slowly made her way forward into the crowd. Her legs were shaking as beads of sweat rolled down her forehead. “Come on, Myra. You can do this.”
She forced herself to move forward. Taking a deep breath she rushed into the crowd with her eyes shut. She could feel the sweaty bodies of people grinding against her. “I can do , I can do it.” These words rolled off her tongue as a chant. Her light british accent was soft so no one other than herself could hear it. It’s not like anybody would have been able to hear her even if she screamed it out. She waved her hands around frantically until she felt at the edge of the crowd. She quickly grabbed the first book se could feel and rushed out of there. When she could feel the fresh air again, her breaths calmed down. She opened her eyes to see herself covered in sweat. She could feel her heart beating fast. She looked at the passport in her hand. “I’m never doing something like this ever again.”
