Messing with Mischievous Imps (Elyx & Jin)

Jin found an interesting extermination request, it was like dealing with pest infestation. It stated that the client’s trade route was overrun with imps and they needed the path clear. Their trading goods were questionable, that was something Jin found suspicious. However, it wasn’t his place to question it anyways. It was a job request available at the guild notice board so it couldn’t be that bad. ”I can’t take on so many enemies by myself though. If it was a job for one person, they would’ve done it by themselves anyways” he thought to himself. There was no other way then, he would never take a job by himself anyways. Besides, there was a friend he had been along with ever since he set foot in the guild.

Jin grabbed the job request and rushed to find his friend. It was early in the day so he was most likely at his residence. He walked to his friend’s home and knocked on the door. As the door opened, Elyx would find Jin standing in front of him with a job request. ”Ready for another job buddy? Some sort of demons are causing some traders problems. I think the two of us can take care of this one, wouldn’t you agree?” said Jin as he gave Elyx the job request.

Mischievous Imps:

His eyes scanned the paper quickly, not really paying attention to the details due to the fact that he was finally having a streak of serious jobs instead of ones that make him seem like he was in a kiddie club. Stupid stupid stupid cafe job, they didn't pay him enough to go on such a job. Well, there was something he could do, now he gets to go on a serious job. Some stupid imps  huh, now this was something could laugh about for the next few days. They didn't sound too hard to kill at all. He bit into his bar of chocolate once again before he then realized that this was a C rank mission. Yes, these seemed so hard back then, but now they were going to prove that jobs like this don't mean anything anymore. Their pay, it could improve admittingly. But he liked it overall and was willing to go for it. We fan do this quickly and come back before its dinner time in our houses. In my case, 7 man. Let's finish this quickly. Elyx said as he looked at his left wrist, but then was reminded of the fact that heonger had a watch, so it was rather awkward. He then looked up.Or... You know, whenever

Jin was happy that his friend accepted to come along. So as usual, the two rushed to the guild hall and found Sophie. They needed to get her approval and inform her that the job was taken by these two. Sophie was already busy doing some important guild stuff, so Jin made small talk with her and let her know that the two were parting. After that, he thought it would be best to eat at the bar while they were here. He had been cooking the entire morning and he hadn’t eaten a thing. He sat at the bar and asked the bar tender to bring his usual, which he did bringing a red velvet cake. He also asked for one more for Elyx, he was sure that Elyx wouldn’t mind him eating before the two departed. ”I haven’t had breakfast yet, let’s eat before we go” said Jin as he dragged a stool next to him so Elyx could sit.

After he ate, he got up and was now ready to begin the journey heading to the desert. The two had been to a far off place like this but that one was a forest. ”Remember that lost puppy we found Elyx? This job is in a similar far off place. Though we’re not looking for anything in particular, we’re just clearing a path for some traders”. He said as he walked along with Elyx, he couldn’t help but be curious about their client.

Well, it seem they arrived at their destination. They needed to find their client. In the meantime, Elyx had taken the time to do some recon on the station, and he figured out a few things. They were located at the end of the train track, where the train was supposed to stop, meaning they will have to reverse travel in order to get to whatever the enemies were. This was proven since there were only conductors guiding trains in this area, in fact, they had to show their job paper in order to gain access to the area the two of them are currently in at this moment. It didn't take much convincing when there was evidence with them. There was an old man who seemed to be looking down upon the two of them, pointing at the two boys. Elyx ran up the stairs so they could talk to who seemed to be the client, but there are many things seem that way. Like in the mansion with Jin and Myra, the man they talked to wasn't the client. Recon, recon, recon was the only way to prove anything and it was the only way to get real information.

Hello there. My name is Elyx Reiaki of the guild, Black Rose. We have come at your request. Elyx explained as he put up the paper. He then lifted his left and middle finger up to his collar so hs could prove he was a member of the guild. A white flower tattoo was located on his collar bone. He then waited for the man to speak about the job.

(Not much time)

And now Elyx and Jin had arrived at their destination. The client’s identity was a bit of an ambiguous thing since they couldn’t locate the gentleman. Along with Elyx Jin too walked around asking questions. Apparently this person wasn’t that well known. Some people even laughed when Jin asked about the person who used that trade route. They said that the route he was talking about was taken over by some kind of demonic creatures. Well at least they looked like little demons anyways. They said that the canyon was infested with them and there was this one really big leader among them. It was quite apparent that the people were terrified of the route. ”All the more reason for us to take care of it” he thought as he continued asking.

Finally Elyx managed to find the client and introduced himself showing the man his guild tattoo. Jin also came along and showed the client his tattoo: the left side of his neck. ”So someone finally decided to show up eh?” said the man in a foul mood. Apparently he wasn’t too happy with the route being closed off to him, ”Well whatcu standing here for? Go out there, find those miserable demons and kill them. If you kill that big one the little one’s will scatter” said the man.

Just the exact information they needed, no more words needed to be said, even if they were said in an odd way. He didn't expect their clients to come up to him and ask him a question? Well, Elyxs only question was answered anyways, everything else he figured out with recon. They don't know how long they have until the train will arrive, so they had to run the tracks as quickly as possible, useless questions will not help anyone at all. Kill the big one, understood. Elyx said as he nodded his head towards Jin. I have found out everything we need to know, the monsters barely pose a threat based on what I have heard. Its just the number of them that is the problem. They can handle a few of these at a time, but they are multiplying faster than these men are able to take care of them. They would have the problem under control if it wasn't for the train coming. They can't stop the problem in time, we have to hurry.

With that, Elyx ran out if the room with his expectancy of Jin to follow him. The railroad monsters could be miles away for all they knowz and sadly they could only get there by foot. Hopefully they could advance without being forced to fight whatever the source was, that would take too much time. But finally they saw it, a few monsters in a railroad. Now is the time to strike at them while they had the element of surprise.

They had their instructions and Elyx summarized them for further simplicity. It was apparently quite simple but not that easy. They had to take out the leader but to get to that big fellow, they would certainly have to take down quite a few. Elyx ran outside pointing out what needed to be done, Jin had already figured that out though. He accompanied Elyx and ran out of the room along with him, he wasn’t going to let his friend do all the work alone. The two ran until they saw a few monsters around the tracks, awaiting the arrival of the train. Sadly, they wouldn’t be there when the train arrives since Elyx and Jin were already there.

There were a total of five of them and Jin decided to take the lead. He looked at Elyx telling him to provide cover if he needed since he was going to rush in. The two had been working together long enough to understand one another without saying a word. Jin jumped up and landed in the middle of the group, the monsters were startled and turned to face the mage. His movements were quick and swift, he punched one imp in the nose, kicked the other in the gut. The other three backed away and then charged at him. Jin stepped aside as one imp launched an attack and thus missed, he kicked the back of its head taking care of that one. The other two pounced at him at the same time, holding him more like giving him a hug. Sadly for those two, hugging a mage with heat manipulation magic wasn’t the best of ideas. Jin immediately began cooling their body temperatures until finally the poor imps ended up freezing and he punched their lights out.

Victorious, he turned to face his friend with a smirk. ”That wasn’t so bad, now was it?” he said as he breathed heavily. It did happen quite fast and he was out of breath after moving so fast.

There was only one incoming Imp at a time, that made things a lot easier. They could be wiped out in seconds with this new form he discovered, well, remembered. He never got to use it yet, but now this could be his big break. He put his Violin bow on the string, quickly playing the one piece that gets him from being Elyx to Swift Paws in just a few seconds. The code, by Alan Lee Silva, a lost piece he never thought he would remember again, but it was with him now. A feeling was implied that it was probably because of Black Rose, if that was the case, they kept on giving and giving. He couldn't imagine himself successfully repaying the guild back for what they have done for him. Once the piece finished, he felt the transformation start to kick in, it was time...


Elyxs transformation into Swift Paws. This was it, he could feel his energy increasing heavily, a ball of energy ready to let loose and fly freely across the world. He felt his head obtaining cat ears, light brown ones that pointed up. His cheeks had small whiskers growing out from his face, his smile slowly curling to look even more cat-like than his actual grin. His upper part of his body was showing, his chest puff out strong, and his stomach seemingly skinny, but strong as well. His black pants became Denim Blue Jeans with one rip across the left knee of the jeans. From behind his jeans, a brown tail swayed happily alongside the wind. Around his neck was a red collar with a small yellow bell dangling as it swayed side to side. His eyes became a light shade of green rather than his usual light brown. He looked back towards his teammates with his cat-like smile. “Time to play!” Elyx exclaimed with his eyes full of excitement and ready to play.

The imp in front of him seemed so petite. Elyx's eyes looked so ready to pounce on it. The imp jumped at him with full intention of hurting Elyx. The neko jumped to the side at a speed that no one has ever seen Elyx move. He was fast enough as it is, but the neko side of him blurred! And it looked so excited to play. Nyah! You're no fun! This is how you play! Elyx exclaimed in a voice that sounded a lot more adorable than his regular voice. He then ran at full speed with both his legs, taking the imp by the throat in only a matter of half a second. This was fun for him. It was like he drank 20 energy drinks at one time. Yay! A toy Nyah! Let's play! Elyx exclaimed as he shook the Imp Violently, getting frustrated with the imp aand hitting it on the ground. The shaking was fast and damaging as it was, now it had to hit the ground. Nyah! I don't like this toy! Elyx exclaimed as he threw the imp far away from the both of them, then he turned to Jin. You're up nyah!

'Monster Dice' :

Jin’s jaw dropped when he saw Elyx’s new form and it only got wider when he spoke. Elyx was arguably the most depressed when they did the café job. He really didn’t look to happy with the costume too but here he was, turning into a humanoid cat. It was true that he seemed filled with magical energy in that form. Not to mention he was fast and while he was being cute and adorable, he really was breaking the bones of that imp. The more Elyx spoke the more he resisted the urge to laugh, not that he did because he knew Elyx would be irritated by that.

When Elyx pointed at Jin telling him it was his turn, for a moment he thought he was going to be the next toy. ”ha?! My turn? Is he coming after me or something? Did this form make him lose his real self? Why oh why Elyx!”, he was about to question Elyx when he noticed another imp heading their way. Then he understood and prepared himself by that time his breathing had returned to normal. Jin stepped up and waited for the imp to get closer, the imp being impatient and having seen quite a few of his kind defeated; jumped at Jin. He stepped aside and the creature landed on its feet agitated even more. The creature picked up a stone and hurled it towards him, he sat down letting the stone fly over him. Then again, the imp launched a punch at Jin; a straight one at that. He increased the temperature of his right hand, stepped aside as the punch passed him whooshing by.

Right then, his punch landed on the creature’s ribs or at least where his ribs should be. The hand was heated up to quite a degree and due to that the creature’s skin was burned. He punched a few times more increasing the burns until the creature fell. Jin turned and looked at his humanoid cat friend, ”your turn……nyah”.

Elyx had a puzzled look on his face, due to the fact that he was understood incorrectly. He meant for Jin to take care of the next imp, it was turn after turn, combat to him. The Neko smiled as he looked towards the next imp, who didn't seem that hard of a challenge to take on, especially considering it looked like its fallen brothers. He ran at the imp, blurring into the air as he did so, this task was an easy one. The imp tried to counter the attack as it tried to leap into the air, thinking its calculations are accurate. But that was when the Neko sled up to catch up to the imp. The calculations of the imp was thrown off, and that jump into the air made it worse for it. The Neko kicked the imp with great force due to the speed behind its kick, and that imps bones could have been heard as they have been cracked, how much force was behind the kick. However, it seems the job wasn't exactly done yet, there were more enemies. Let's take them out quickly nyah! Elyx exclaimed with a cheery tone in his voice.

Well the Black Rose’s dynamic due sure was enjoying themselves, one after another the imps fell. Elyx in his neko form and Jin with his swift movements and his heat manipulation magic were too much for the little creatures. Elyx’s words were Jin intentions before he even said them, he also wanted to hurry up and be done with this. ”Yeah, let’s just finish the…” his sentence ended half way when he hit something big and warm. He was walking while looking at Elyx so his face was backwards while he moved ahead and hence he didn’t see the new enemy who had just appeared. Jin could fell the thing’s warmth and it was moving too, what was it anyways?

He turned his face to see a giant imp with drool falling from mouth. He stepped back suddenly to avoid the drool landing on his head. The monster was pretty angry for some reason, guess he wasn’t in a good bad. A bad night’s sleep perhaps? Agitation from seeing little imps being tossed around? Or was it something else? For some reason, Jin couldn’t help but think that the creature was hungry or something. Well, this was no time to find out the reason behind the creature’s anger, they weren’t psychologists anyways. The creature attacked Jin with its large claws, he was already too close to avoid the attack. Jin stepped aside and the claw went by piercing his left arm, resulting in a large cut wound. It was only a flesh wound though but his t-shirt was torn and blood had begun to make its way out of his body.

He grabbed his arm from where he was struck, it was indeed painful. That would probably be his first battle scar, if it did leave behind a scar that is. This wasn’t time to think about the wound though since the creature launched another attack. This time, he didn’t make the mistake he did a moment ago and instead he jumped ahead towards the creature. Being big has it’s disadvantages, its arms were long and had a long reach but that came with the disadvantage of being slower at close range. Jin stepped within the imps hugging range and then launched himself into the creature raising both his feet. The result was a flying drop kick which landed on the creatures chest. Jin was about to launch a powerful spell to back up his attack but surprisingly the creature backed away grabbing its chest. It appeared that he looked tough but he wasn’t that much. He waved his arm in a leftward diagonal slash downwards resulting in a heat wave propagating just like his arm’s movement. He had just used his spell as he said, "Heat... Wave!" which ended up hitting the monster at a very close range. The result was a crispy big imp who was knocked unconscious.

It was the final shot at the monsters, Elyx knew he didnt have much time left before his tranformation returns back to regular Elyx. The good news would be that he gets to use his magic and his items again, the bad news is that he won't be able to to have that much speed, he will end up being just slightly faster than everyone in his rank. And that's of the average person had no speed boost either. Jin gave the next imp a flambe to remember fkreverz meanwhile for Elyx, he needed to take care of such a weak enemy. These meant nothing to him anymore. The imp charged at him with what seemed to be full force, but at the speed he is used toz it was rather hard for him to tell the difference between any speed below his. Elyx waited for the imp to get close, then quickly jumped into the air. When the imp was right below him, Elyx landed on it, forcing all of his weight down onto it. He quickly leapt off of the imp and soccer kicked it away from him without even thinking much of it. I guess play time is over.

'Monster Dice' :

Jin’s arm was still bleeding so he stepped back and let Elyx take care of another imp that had just appeared. It wasn’t like the one who had injured his arm so he was sure Elyx would have no trouble dealing with it. While Elyx played soccer with the imp, Jin made the area around his wound cooler thus clotting his blood and stopping the bleeding for now. This was no medical treatment and he would have to attend to it properly later but it was only a flesh wound. It wasn’t enough to keep him out of action. Elyx made short work of their foe as he kicked him away. They really were stacking up some imp bodies here but it just wasn’t enough. He recalled that they needed to take out the boss or these guys just won’t stop.

Another imp appeared after the previous one was disposed of by Elyx. This one didn’t look like any the two had dealt before, he looked kind of cute. The imp started running towards Jin, hoping to take him down since he did appear injured. Well that was a mistake on the little creature’s part, just as soon as it got close Jin jumped a little in the air and launched a leftward spinning kick. The kick was fast and landed on the face of the creature, throwing it a few feet away and knocking it unconscious. ”Unless we find the boss, play time will just keep on getting worst buddy” said Jin, reminding Elyx about what the man from earlier had told them.

turned his head to Jin as he seemed to not understand what Elyx meant. His Swift Paw form is done, there was nothing he could do about it except watch himself turn back. I'm afraid that is nothing at all what I meant to say. Elyx said as his whole transformation shattered to pieces of light and his regular form is revealed, he also had his Violin in his left hand and his Violin bow in his right hand. Wind magic time it seemed, it seems play time was over, but now its time to fight. He put up his bow against the next enemy and played out the melody to use Wind Lerale Valley Strike. His eyes slowly turned from the Neko forms light green color to his regular light brown color. It has been a while since I used that form... I can imagine myself being around ten using Swift Paws. It felt great. Elyx explained, half to himself and half to Jin. He then looked up at the next imp and exclaimed. Wind Lerale Valley Strike! His Violin bow shattered to pieces as it then turned to a giant green blade literally made of wind. He only had so much time to use this trick, he ran towards his opponent imp quickly. When he sliced upwards, it stepped to the side by jumping. Elyx turned quickly, his Wind Lerale boost alerting him where the enemy was. Oh no you don't! Elyx exclaimed with a competitive smile on his face, he was serious about this battle. He front flipped one time with his blade held out towards the imp and struck it against the ground, the extra impact of the wind breaking the earth below the blade. The imp laid limp, unable to fight if it had any life in it. Well, Jin. Even if I don't have Swift Paws, fighting these battles are still fun. Elyx said as he smiled and nommed on a chocolate bar from his knapsack, it has been a while since he had one.
