It was the holiday seasons and Katherine was short on money, it was hard to get the money with the lack of jobs that were available. It was mostly D-rank jobs that were the leftovers f what the other mages did. And thus it was chump change to an experienced Katherine Wickfield, the Storm God Slayer and Angel of Chaos. Katherine sighed softly as she drank her cup of tea and ate a cookie until she found a promising job. It was to escort someone to a dance and attempt tto give counceling to the young noble in the process. It was promising job that could be fun, but Karina might get jealous if she was caught dancing with another person. Best to keep this little job on the hush after all, which was fine with Katherine. Besides it would be an excuse to use her much younger angel form. It would help not start rumors because of the age difference after all...
She returned to her room and laid gently on the bed. Katherine exhaled one final breath and out came the Angels soul from the mortal body. It left the body an empty husk, but able to breate and do involuntary actions that kept it alive. She petted her mortal body and thanked the soul that voluntarily gave her body up to her to do the gods work. It took courage to simply pass away and let someone else use her to save lives. And she has performed miracles, got a new friend in the form of Kyll, learn to love again despite coming from a demon and simply met new people that accepted her for what she was. She even was close to getting forgiveness for the sins that she has committed on a God. She gave a silent prayer to the childs soul in thanks for her sacrifice to use her body. To thank her for all the good memories that she was got in this lifetime and apologies for nicks and bang ups the body occassionally went through.
She looked through her entire line of clothing that she had available for her body. She had too many loose fitting and casual clothes, but this was a formal event so she decided that a black dress would suit Katherine just fine. Placing the clothing on the bed, she took a shower and used herbal shampoo to make her smell pleasant. Katherine then emerged fromt the shower and sat in front of her vanity mirror to feel embarrased at her very thin body that she had. She sighed as she put on her undergarments on and slipped the elegant black dress over her. She then sat in front of the vanity mirror to apply eye liner and lipstick to herself. Normally she did no such thing on her daily life, but since it was a formal gathering it required an extra touch to all this. She exited the guildhall and went to the destination of her job waliking in high heels (the devils own hellish creation).
Eventually she arrived to the house that the job told she was expected to pick up the young man. She met the boy, a surly man that did not give a few words and barely acknowledged Katherine even attempting to be polite. He even ignored Katherine's beauty! The nerve of mortals sometimes! She took the man out to the cold winter streets, snow slightly drizzling on the city to start covering Era streets in white powder. Katherine needed to have the man come to terms with his mothers death so she gave a speech.
"I am sorry about your mother. It was a tragic end to a good woman, but at least she raised a good son."
"How would you know? You are just a hired mercenary so your patronization falls on deaf ears to me."
"Because it is only a barrier that you put on your emotioons dear. Deep inside it was a painful experience and a peace of you died. It left a hollow place in your heart that you feel that can never be filled. I have suffered such loss as well, but we move on and evolve. You must be strong."
